For anyone who is having issue with targeting, on xbox or ps5, e.g you would like to lock the target when your character move (in similar way like you can lock in diablo4 or eldenring ) , please do following , go to your round menu and find the. menu Bind screen, then procceed to find an empty slot and press set button and choose Toogle Targeting Mode .. this will make your boss fight or just in general aiming so much better .. see the screenshot below for more info ,

I have a rather unique problem, I'm not sure if any devs or customer service folks stop in here, but it's a genuine issue for me. First a little set-up:

I created a PoE account back in I believe April of 2014 to play PoE on the XBox One. I hopped in from time to time, but was extremely casual. I can't even recall when the last time it was I played. So long, in fact, I forgot I had the original PoE account.

Fast forward to earlier this year, PoE2 is gaining traction in the public consciousness and (again, not remembering my OG account) I logged into their website and made a new account in August 2024. Same email as the original, but a different designator (the last 4 digits the website affixes to your account to differentiate you.) There was no warning that an account under that email already existed, and it simply let me make a brand new account.

Here's where the nightmare begins. The Early Access packs are made available and I purchase one through the XBox Store on my Series X. Even though I haven't played PoE in years, it uses that account to purchase my "key." The EA period starts last week, and Twitch runs a drops promotional (with a Support-A-Streamer component that awards a Chimera pet.) I claim my drops and link my new account to Twitch. However, GGG and the website still associates me and my key with my old account. Herein lies the problem: my key is on one account, while my Twitch drops are on the other. During the linking process it finally tells me there's another account under that email and asks if I want to merge them. I'm thinking, yeah, sure...let's smoosh 'em together so all my info is in one place again.

WRONG! My key is still on one account while my drops are on the other. One account shows the 300 "coins" that came with my EA packet purchase, the other shows zero. The issue here isn't just the drops (although in fairness, I did spend $16 for two gift subs to get it, so money is on the line.) But if I buy more coins, which account are they going to go to? It's frankly a mess, and I'm disinclined to play PoE2 now until its sorted, because I don't know anything that I do going forward will land on the correct account.

I need assistance. I emailed their support folks twice already explaining the issue, but I'm hearing the turn-around may take a while, even longer than usual not only because of their backlog with the EA launch, but the holiday break is coming. So I honestly don't know if this will be resolved this year. Sad, I'd really like to play, but I'm an old guy, and hate wasting effort and money on something only to have the rug pulled out from under me.

So I'm trying a slightly different angle. It's costing me money, but...sometimes you need to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I picked up another key on the PS5, hoping it would let me choose which of the two accounts to use. It did not. It defaulted to the same one as the XBox and there doesn't appear to be any way to change that ingame. Sooo...my next idea was to create a "burner" Twitch account, re-earn the drops and claim them, then hopefully when I switch back over to my main Twitch, the items will still come with me. If they don't (that is, if you need to maintain the Twitch connect to access the drops forever and ever), then I'm boned and just have to wait until someone with their support team can sort it all out.

On the bright side, I now have 300 points for XBox and another 300 for PS5. And since they share the same account, I'm guessing whatever I purchase on one should appear on the other. Fingers, toes, eyes and other bits all crossed.

Not only is it possible, it's the way it's designed to work. Just tested that very thing moments ago between My Series X and PS5. They're mirrors of one another.

Holy crap-on-a-cracker... IT WORKED!!! 🤯

Sooo... I claimed the drops on Twitch, scooted over to the consoles and tried them out. Sure enough, they were there! Did the PS5 first, and then the XBox Series X. They were available on both platforms. Then the real test...I disconnected PoE from Twitch, then I logged off my Twitch burner account, back onto my master account, and then reconnected. Following so far? Good. I then went back to the consoles, and the drops were still there! So even though I acquired them on a separate Twitch account, once they're associated with your PoE2 account, they're there regardless of which Twitch you're connected to, or even if you're connected at all!

So I'll switch back over to the burner Twitch long enough to gift a couple subs, then switch back one final time to my main Twitch. The last drop starts this Saturday (December 14), and I'm going to see if it'll pick up on my main Twitch for me.

It was a big dog-and-pony show to get it fixed (and cost me close to another $50 bucks!), but...it's working. Mission accomplished. 👍🏼

Xbox performance is a bit average. SRS is bad, fps drops in every fight. Gas Arrow + Flame Wall, less severe but you are never at 60 fps when you use both skills

Dumb question. I have a tv which supports 120 fps, console settings are 1440p with 120 fps. I had the chance to set 120 fps in game options when I played for the first time, then yesterday I found out it's on 60 fps, 120 fps are greyed out and no matter how I change settings, it won't allow me to select it. I am using something ( I am new to POE so Idk names lol ) that increases contagious to 300%
When a group of enemy get close to me, RIP. As the magic passes from one enemy to another, it increase its damage up to 300%, it awesome against big enemies.
It is the only magic that is allowing me to have fun with the witch, my stash has so many gold cloths, weapon that belong to other classes.
I have 6x skill points to use, I am so weak against fire and ice, I will spend a good amount of time tomorrow looking at the skill tree to see what I can do.

I just remembered, I crafted a gem from the red section (green is dext) it increases those magic duration to 40℅.

Example : shield and 1h mace attacks don’t auto swap to 2h even though it is on skill bar 1. Using a slam uses 1h instead of swapping to 2h even though, unless you swing the general attack.

This would create much smoother flow for weapon swapping in real time - matching the pace of the action combat.

This appears to be a game thing based on what is going on at your level.
That fire magic that hit the wall and the whole screen goes brrrrrr, there is a video of a guy playing like at 1FPS 🥲 because of too many things going on and the game cannot process.

Best tricks I’ve learned. Hold down the “select or start” buttons. Brings up radial selectors. Or click right stick on most screens to bring up cursor selector help. While in game you can bring up the game menu and hit right stick to bring up “HUD element information”.

Can anyone tell me why my weapons keep changing? I have actively been avoiding using the toggle button (left on my dpad) but everytime I use right trigger, which is assigned to another skill, I lose all my minions and have to constantly toggle back to my first weapon set to get minions back. Check what weapon set your skills are set to and make sure your minions are checked on both sets

I figured this out. if you have two weapons equipped, let’s say two staffs. One staff has fire bolt, the other has ice shards. If you have east of these skills bound to your bar/buttons, the weapons automatically swap depending on which skill you use (and it doesn’t automatically swap back).

Ahh I missed the minions part. Yep this is also something to check. Likely it’s this. I was automatically swapping weapons couldn’t figure out why. Was losing all kinds of stats and discouvered it was my skills from each weapon automatically causing the weapon swap.

Man, series X was doing fine until I started mapping. Any map with a special mechanic (breach, deli, etc) drops frames so bad it turns into a slideshow.

PoE1 wasn’t even that bad until you juiced the hell out of a map.

Anywhere there is heavy mtx usage you’re going to run into loads of texture artifacts and frame drops, and that will likely persist, though perhaps not as much, even after optimizing for full release.

My guess is the best we can hope for is PoE1 levels of system drag in common areas.

I had to drop all of my graphics settings back to default when I got to maps because anything other than a vanilla map started chipping away at the frame rate, and it still struggles to maintain 30fps on default settings on a map with any sort of mechanic, especially ritual and deli.

Not sure what you mean by “HOT”. When pressing A on the skill the only options are “Manage Sockets” “Advanced Info” and “Back”. When I press X to set it to hotkey it’s above all the other hot keys and all I’m able to do is change it to I or II. Not seeing anywhere to set it to on for any weapon type…

HOT = Herald of Thunder. The I and II at the top are your weapon sets. You can turn on or off the persistent buff individually for each set. Mine currently shows on for weapon set I. Also HOT requires a martial weapon and 30 spirit I think.

Fun feeling to shred a boss in seconds at first but it loses a lot of luster to just screen clear and then spend 2 seconds on a boss.

They nailed act 1-3 normal difficulty - power creep goes to hard from cruel onwards.

Stack resists and blast screen clear. Everything is “giga fast melt ultra mega destruction”

Perfomance isn’t good. There aren’t many textures in a town, low FPS and item management is difficult with controller. 5-10 lvl maps on my sorc I see FPS drop to 15-20. You need to be very careful and run maps very slow. The game is playable but I prefer do not play game like this.

Ranger lightning arrow doesn't feel too bad... the auto lock makes for some chill gameplay - I generally run lower maps (up to T11) with my rarity gear on console and other than a loot filter its not bad. Monk doesn't feel bad either - I went through act 4-6 on console without issue, bell placement is kind of annoying.

Trade site works perfectly fine. i would try someone else if your unsure. The currency exchange in game in settlers right now is pretty quiet so people can ask for what ever they want. But lots of listings may or may not be current as well.

I just searched for deaf or sorrow on exchange and there’s only one listing. As an example.

Regarding performance on Xbox series X, seemed to be doing OK early but lately more and more full screen flickers and screen reset / redraws. damn I tried to do maps alone, it was… ok, but when I play with more people (1) it’s lagging af, just now I tried t6 map, and fire was everywhere on the floor, I got this mob that also had this electricity… that was absolutely unplayable hahaha, also when a rare mob dies and explodes in maps I have to just run to safety becaus my fps becomes… wel 1fps, and don’t know what’s gonna happen. some maps are playable, like fortress and crypt, they are really dark, but the more effects the more lag. I didn’t have this problem before in campaign, and there were some crazy effects.. so i’m not sure what’s causing it

Is anybody else having an issue where the audio has just stopped working? I'm level 79 now but I've never had an issue... But two days ago the audio started crackling and sounding funny and then it just shut off and now, after turning off the Xbox and turning off the TV and restarting everything yada yada, there's still no audio The game just has no sound. The Xbox has sound the TV play sound when I'm watching Netflix or whatever it's just this game.

This might be something someone else has already figured out, but if you’re playing on a series x and feel like performance is dogpoop, if your TV/monitor supports it switch to 120hz. I’m running fsr quality with shadows and global illum, basically all the high settings, and I’m getting a solid 70fps and no tearing. It’s a night and day difference from 60hz at any settings.

I had this happen to me during act 3. I opened my inventory right as some voice audio played and the game got stuck repeating half a second of the audio over and over. Eventually all other audio was suppressed and I could only hear the short portion of the voice. The only fix I could find was to force quit the game and reopen it.

(Even relogging didn’t fix it. The voice clip stopped playing after i relogged, but all audio was muted.)

I had this issue once as well! In the exact same manner you've described. I figured out my audio issue...I bought one of those keyboards that plugs into the controller so I could use it for chat... apparently that thing is also seen by the Xbox as a headset because it has an audio jack on it (so you cN also attach a headset) and routes all audio to it. The audio came back when I disconnected it. I found a way to plug it in "just enough" so that I could use the keyboard and not mess up the audio.

Don't worry, you'll be able to use up more portals when you die at the uber boss. Although, it doesn't matter much if you are stuck in the game and the performance sucks, you can't see the effects because of buggy graphics, or even gets pixelated for sometimes, (fsr, Nis, and other settings , etc) and you die because of say or because the fps is so low and sometimes hovers between 20-30 fps and lags. It's when you're mapping / bossing, or just doing the camp, that this phenomenon gets the worst (and when u playing w minions, but anyway i created now a warrior so yh). Oh and the other is playing in couch co-op mode. There the performance is even more degraded. Especially if there are more monsters and fights going on. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but unfortunately it can be a pain on console. And I was also hoping that the patch that's coming will do something about this.

You can change some skill behaviours in the skill options - i've tried that with freezing salvo and it helped a lot with targeting - but it will never be as good as a m&k setup

especially that with autotargeting its hard to predict what the player actually wants, so you just need to accept that. I just hope they will prioritize right stick targeting more because the left stick overrides it too much

in poe1/d4 the case was way easier cause we did not move while attacking so easy peasy, but now i just don't use buttons for any skills - just triggers and bumpers and the game feels awesome

ye Diablo made it really good for the attack in place targeting

but when you take that complexity axis off, poe1 also did it pretty well

with time you will get used to it. It's the same with lighning rods on LA DE, im 95 and i still do not know exactly where they will land on a screen without mobs

not in all cases, like hammer build for barbs on xbox was useless, cause it always target the mobs, so you couldn't hit the ground hence the waves that were doing most dmg were missing

Well you have since the very beginning. It’s like the “interact with objects”. But you can bind both in bond skill (not on Xbox now, if I remember correctly the double square bottom in the middle and left stick down)

I don’t use grenades lol, but usually when you go into a mob group you can throw a grenade towards them and shoot that usually works pretty good, but I don’t know how you wanna use your grenades

On console the behavior is really weird, and many grenades miss

And if you can't aim where it goes, you will often miss due to movement, unless you are in melee

So it's really just bad control design I think

'Enable held targeting' under Skills > Skill option can help with some skill's targeting

Also, it's whenever you either freeze, shock and i think ignite an enemy that you gain a charge (tempest bell included)

you have to wait untill one mob is “red” by using your right joystick

or if you walk towards the group throw the grenade, if you walk back the grenade will go the other way

Don't be afraid to experiment and do not look up a build until at least a1 cruel.
Check your resistances (most important thing probably to get).
If you find a div orb it's better to keep it for trading if you feel like playing endgame.
Disenchant rares for regal orbs rather than sell (or you might go the other route and sell a lot of stuff and gamble upgrades)
Prepare for a lot of walking cause the campaign is huge so proriotirize movement speed on boots

and socketting support gems is also annoying, you gotta go B twice to go back to inventory to put 1 in, then B twice again, and if you so it too fast you need to open up inv again and go to skills again to restart the process
