you get a "token" that you can use in any of the map locations. that token, is called a map. all the non-unique maps now, are just generic, over the counter, maps.
when you open the atlas of worlds, you'll use those map items in the spots for the named, specific map you want to run. you won't start off with all of them, you'll need to uncover some and work your way through.

once you have the whole atlas open, you can run whatever you want, ad nauseam.
