the issue is just that if they didn't implement it that way, and instead implemented it as regular life loss, it'd still be sort of effective but with the amount of ways we have in PoE to reduce, redirect, ignore, or otherwise negate life loss, Pure Damage would probably end up being pretty toothless

its not an event, its a league, those are two separate things in poe

but after mirage ends in 4 months or so yes it gets all moved to standard, your characters + your stash

then when the league after mirage starts, you repeat the process
new reset, play for some time, etc.
