Personally I always support an increase in the breadth of build space, though personally I do find Wildspeaker to be a more interesting ranger ascendancy than Whisperer since it's very much a "does clearly signposted thing very well and basically nothing else" ascendancy

it's a good and effective way to support them without having single-build-archetype real ascendancies

Delirium gets very tanky, so you need incredibly high damage, but their offensive capabilities are a lot more limited

Harbinger is a lot squishier but also a lot more lethal

so go Delirium if you have incredibly high DPS and okay defenses, go Harbinger if you have really good defenses and okay DPS, or alternatively lower DPS and really good clear and are willing to play rocket tag

If the setup they're running is based around using a two-handed axe and playing with frenzy charges... could buy literally any (non-corrupted) two-handed axe with 6 links, hit it with a scour orb, and then use an essence of Horror for the % chance to gain charge on kill. Probably a better charge generation than getting a charge on every 50th rampage kill, IMO
