Profound Scarab of Depth and Edifice is an amazingly cool combo in theory - creating your own mega abyss map. In practice it is very buggy on certain map layouts, you are limited in how many abyss line and spawn areas there are on maps.

Lab is honestly a really well designed piece of content

it introduces the mechanics gradually, teaches you its internal mechanics well, has some fun puzzle rooms, some non-puzzle rooms that act as puzzles, some secret passages, and lots of optional exploration you can do to full clear and get extra loot out of it.

Plus it's decently varied but extremely doable for every build

plus Izaro is just a well designed encounter that you could carefully do completely hitless if your build has zero defenses going in, or just faceroll if you're on a really strong build

and you can scale your own difficulty of Izaro depending on if you let his secondary mechanics stay up or not

and can even make the fights way easier through exploration by getting the item that disables one of the mechanics the moment you enter the fight

and of course through finding Darkshrines to get permanent shrine buff, turn off traps in the final boss fight, etc

I'm honestly not sure why people dislike Lab, but I have to assume it's due to fatigue of having to do it every league on every character

but like, the actual content design is peak, one of the most well-designed pieces of content in PoE
