then you could start doing that pete plan, for the distance and long time pieces, i.e., 20 minutes, I generally stick to an 18-20 stroke rate. For sprints/intervals, i.e., 500m x6 / 2 minute rest, I will push as hard as I can but keeping in mind that I want to keep a similar speed across all the sprints, so not dead push that will leave me gasping, but something I think I can sustain across all 6 sprints.
or if I've picked something I can't sustain, or maybe I didn't drink enough before, or I am just not feel as good that day I'll hold off a little bit, like do 1:55's instead
