is it the trigger tag that prevents skills from gaining energy from another skills damage?
Does that mean vivid stampede can't proc meta gems?
it doesn't require energy
it just shoots out the stags when you do any attack
it shoots stags equals to the number wisps that you have on you when you attack
that's not what they mean
oh they mean like gaining energy from it
Energy cannot be gained from direct effects of Triggered Skills
So I imagine it can't build energy for meta gems
guys what should I go for bear build
a different ascendancy
That's a bit of a bummer I was thinking about a build with moljnir and the new midnight shield coming out in 0.5. Melee attacks triggering the stags + owl feathers letting the shield pierce stuff & making a bunch of arcs
Shield throw should still proc thundergod's wrath which is cool
if you want to do shield stuff you really want to use nebuloch
this implies that indirect effects may grant energy
Dude got ROCKED lol. Not bad for lv 75 so far. Havent even really geared. May use Galvanic shards and try and pump up electrocution. Really push the immobilized, electricuted, shocked, pinned numbers.
I'm doing a ritualist and ended up with a staff falling thunder build, because rake sucks, and Twisters don't interest me
and staff specific nodes a side, why does Monk "quadrant" of the tree, seems so soo much better then Amazon/Ranger?
I always think is crap that is better to spend 7 point to move to another quadrant, because there is not good enough stuff for elements on Amazon/Ranger side, and neither for crit unless you are specifically playing amazon lol
I mean you can't really be shocked that you picked the monk's archetypical weapon and then found it was better to go to the monk's starting area
bear smith of kitava is maybe the tankiest campaign character, and if you're new to the game is a good introduction and not very gear dependent. just keep forging your armor
Not shocked, but annoyed i guess, not even because it has better stuff for Staff skills, since Amazon side has better projectiles, and poison and bleed[?] my rake build disagree with the bleed one lol
But by comparison, I can do a somewhat decent bow build on monk, but not a decent staff build on Huntress
so basically spirit walker focus on spirits and minions ?
Yeah, but most people will get the boss taming node even if they are going spirits, just to see how it is lol
it does help that on huntress side there is a node that gives "increases to minion damage also affect you" so you can make a pretty solid companion build
while focus on other skills
Is Spirit Walker going to be like the top minion ascendancy we think?
detonate dead doesnt need to be high level to do decent damage right? I want to use it in a build, but it has a very high int requirement when higher level
i have this node only on Weapon set 1.
if i proc the armour break while i'm on this Weapon set, will the effect of that node still be applied if i switch to my Weapon set 2 to attack the enemy for the rest of the time that the armour is broken?
this rune is 1.67% Fire + 1.67% Cold + 1.67% Lightning or it's 5% Fire + 5% Cold + 5% Lightning?
5% of each
Very nice, thanks !
yes
Thanks.
Last time I saw anything DD related in POE 2, was in 0.2 and it was people saying it was bad because of how long it took for minions to revive so you could blow them up again
Im trying to make smith of kitava build that uses fire skill on hit, so it would just blow up a surrounding corpse for more damage
atleast thats the hope
idk if I'll be able to get it to work how I dream
w
for this node, is the 200% of Armour that defends vs Critical Hits applying to all types of crit dmg or it only defends what Armour normally defends?
Only normal types
However, I THINK this does work against elemental damage if you have the modifiers that allow a percentage of armour to apply to elemental damage? Not fully certain
u guys know a build have good clear speed as pf spark as?
i played it but now im enough xD
Can you make spectres out of Breach monsters?
yes but not recommended they are all terrible
Thought so, but hopefully some of them got buffed
I really want to cosplay as breachlord with chayula minions now that they fixed purple flame sharing
if I cast an AoE spell like ice nova and it hits 10 mobs, do I get 10 chances for crit individually for each mob or just one chance to crit on all 10 mobs?
Is double armour break ever worth when it applies to all hits? Or it's just trash?
I mean breaking armour below 0
Is there a certain number of damage% on the passive tree you should be aiming for?
like a general rule of thumb kinda thing
Not really. Just pick as much as you can.
Especially during campaign you should ignore everything that does not make you deal more damage
This thing makes so that you have twice as much armour against critical hits. It doesn't change what armour can tank, so unless you have mods that apply armour to ele hits, you only tank phys damage this way.
do u guys use arsonists or snipers for minion leveling?
arsonists got nerfed to oblivion
by oblivion you mean getting their spirit to be slightly less than frost mages
"oblivion"
no, their base dmg also got reduced a lot
and their command aswell
flamewall wich they abused also had its added damage reduced by almost half
they got quadrouple tapped
noone uses their command
So still viable?
ctrl F arosnists urself
no but not becasue of nerfs
because they just plain suck as all skeletons do
they are still the only skeleton that can shotgun with multishot
snipers feel alright for single target anyway
-
The first refers to ALL minion not just arsonists
-
Their base damage is in the hundreds, the flamewall was nothing special anyway
You are the one spreading misinformation about them being specifically nerfed
The biggest specific nerf was the spirit nerf and that happened barely after launch
without the flamwall added dmg they were not competitive as a minion even with the shotgunning
and half of the arsonist build dmg also just came from srs
ah now u mention something irrelevant like SrS because you know you f'ed up
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
"this argument doesnt help my specific thing i said wich has already been proven wrong so im gonna call it invalid"
Any channce of Fire/Ignite Sorcs being decent next Season? Or would I be going down a path of regret?
This is the endgame patch so we can expect balance changes
Hard to say which specific builds will be good
Thats fair I suppose.
Main issue is last time I played, there wasn't much in terms of "Good" options for Fire Sorc at the time. You were always better going full Lightning or Frost Wall Explosions
base dmg of lv28 gem. But SURELY losing 30 extra damage from flamewall made them bad
The only people who thought flamewall was a remotely significant part of the damage, even in 0.1 are the ones whose only interaction with the skill was watching videos and clips
"my lvl 28 minion doesn benefit much from lvl 1 flamewall"
Does breaking armor under 0 with all damage from hits applied to broken armor is ever good or it's just a bait (Warbringer ascendancy).
have you ever ACTUALLY played the game instead of yapping
"while the Gem level 1 values are unchanged. More significant reductions have been made past Gem level 20." read
at lv 20 it went from 77.5 avg to 40.5
I wanna know how you think you were pushing gem levels on a SPELL skill on a MINION build
You know +fire spell staves dont scale minions right?
you know you can equip a wand with a scepter right
the average arsonist build had +5 from wand and +1 from support
for the flamewall
ah yes because that SURELY would have been a better damage setup than old trenchtimbre
do you even know what you ar typing
it was back then, yes
ok ur trolling if you think anyone except a clueless idiot would use a +lvl wand over a trenchtimbre for a damage setup in 0.1
ironic statement
im gonna snip this and post it every time you make some clueless take about minions
Like its so insane. Do you even have any idea how much minions scale with levels
"varashta is the only good minions" "you cant get 300% elemental armour"
mad and bad
you've been proven wrong time and time again bud
so you are saying +2 > +5 ?
+fire spell skills dont affect minion gems
you know minions have more tags than just minion tag right
not spells
wand mod only affects SPELL skills
Ok so I think I've found my secondary wave shot atk for this twin stick build. Galvanic shards has a pretty decent spread and utility wise it fit in nicely with how this build is shaping up. I ended up making Galvanic shards electrocute while rapid shot pins and explosive grenades with heat buildup and black powder blitz instant pop just eliminates anything resilient.
https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/OpticalPrime36-9576/vaal/character/DCC_Twin_Sticks
So knowing this I'm about 8 levels or so away from optimizing my tree. Damage wise I'm already seeing like 1.5 million against bosses so that's good enough atm. Of course defensively I'm not in a good spot but really haven't invested in gear yet. Just looked in my stash trash to suit up
Explore economy and build overviews for the action role-playing game Path of Exile.
Probably not unless tame boss ends up being super cracked. It does seem like it will be the best minion ascendancy for fighting alongside your minions, beating tactician for that niche
however, remains to be seen if that niche goes beyond providing / receiving utility like stun, bleed, shock, chill to/from the companions
There is no way to plan builds before league start, right?
I mean it in the sense, that PoB won't be ready, so i'll just have to fantasize things in my head which might not even end up working..
it can still be worth sketching things out so you can see how patch notes affect them
but there will be a lot of changes to gems and tree that aren't in the patch notes anyway
It's just that i'd like to go Infernalist Liminal Coil Ignite + Poison but..... Damn, i don't even know where to start.
Would it be wise to just start with Essence Drain? It's a late game Unique anyway. There is also the problem of it having only 7% base crit, maybe Infernalist isn't optimal..
Like, how do we optimally scale this?
What is the vision ><
I don't just want to copy-paste other peoples builds, but the more i think about this, the harder it gets.. I might fail miserably
Mobalytics did some brainstorming, but their choice is limited to Blood Mage and Lich
One does really need a PhD in Path of Exile to make builds.. Might just go Blood Mage for extra spell crit..
Just wait till patch notes, go fully on themes and vibes right now
If you know you already like the idea of infernalist demon form/lowlife crit and this wand that's a great start, more than a lot of people have done. I don't think more prep is needed until we start having more to work with 🤞
And yeah unless you're late to the league you're gonna have to run a different build until you get this
EDC + black flame covenant is an idea, use random shit like flameblast/ember fusillade/incinerate
thanks for the reply @sharp thorn@silver urchin
Is there a good Buff alternative for Charged Staff (it consumes Power charges, gives add lightning damage to the staff and shots a shock wave), and my problem is that I hate the shockwave "projectile" lol
Blazing critical gives damage as extra fire, innervate and ice bite for lightning and cold
You've got mantra of destruction, infernal cry, and arctic howl tho I'm unsure as to whether you can howl then return to shmacking
If you don't love the projectile you can reduce its range with Concentrated Effect
Are Timeless Jewels figured out yet? Is it possible toknow how the Notables are transformed for Undying Hate given the Seed?
hello what build is good for this leauge i just bought the game thank you
That is an excessively difficult question to answer outright. There are a lot of variables that will change what a "good build" is to you.
good build to learn the game 😁😁
Additionally we do not have patchnotes yet so a lot is unknown in terms of changes for the upcoming patch.
For that purpose there are almost no misses as long as you choose things that work together. I am out of the loop if there is a highly regarded beginners guide.
But, if you check out this channel I am sure there will be more tailored advice for you. https://discord.com/channels/174993814845521922/1308714834543513652
thank you kind person 😁😁
I'm using Wave of frost with Blazing Critical and Bhatair's Vengeance
Might Try infernal Cry, mantra of destruction buffs only one skill (unless that skill kills something on the first hit irc)
Is there a list of base types that are in the game somewhere? Can't find one. Trying to make my loot filter for 0.5
path of exile is simply a tool to test your path of building creation
I think it might have what you need lol
Is there any bow skills that benefits from armour break in the game currently? Just wondering about the new bow that they revealed.
a lot of people use armour break III on spiral volley to generate frenzy charges for it
all bow skills can benefit from armour break on warbringer
Also, if you're using any type of bleeding/poison build Breaking armor means more damage, since both scale with the damage of the hit the inflicted the ailment
Has anyone tried a Cold to Blackflame Ignite Chonk build via Three Dragons Helm, with something like Tull's Stillness on Whirlwind Assault or Shattering Palm so that its Extra Chaos damage along with Charged Blade can proc herald of Ice?
Question on Contagion, do damage supports on Contagion increase the total damage of all 'attached' chaos dot's on spreading? Or will it only be the base 100% more per spread?
E.g. Zenith on Contagion will cause an additional 30% more damage per spread for all dot's
The dots that spread are the same damage as the initial dot
So yes
If I understand you correctly that means my initial 1000 damage ED will be 2000 on first spread and 4000 on second spread and the Zenith % more will only apply to Contagion's own damage not ED?
If you do 1000 damage with the first dot, each dot that spreads does 1000 damage
The Contagion inherent 100% more per spread multiplier only applies to Contagion itself then, not to 'carried' other chaos dot's? That's a bummer.
Yes, the initial dot damage will be used just amped up to 2000, then 3000 on second spread
Isn't that opposite of your earlier message:
"If you do 1000 damage with the first dot, each dot that spreads does 1000 damage"?
I missread the skill at first
Olroth's Legacy says:
Destroy a Kalguuran or Ezomyte unique item,
How do we know which uniques are Kalguuran or Ezomyte?
Not yet
What do you mean by that?
GGG said they want to make it clear what faction a Unique belongs to.
Okay, so by "not yet" they meant to say "it will be obvious when the patch goes live"? Thank you
How do I slot Chaotic Freeze into a Fire skill (fireball, living bomb, incinerate) when I also have Blackflame covenant. Do I need another support gem to trick the skill into thinking it’s doing non-ailment dot?
Or am I doing it the wrong way, and need to apply it with an different skills for my purple fireballs to do anything like build freeze buildup?
Think I figured it out, sorry
So the skills on uniques, can they level up somehow? I'm intrigued in the Raven's Flock but if it stays on level 18 it might be a bit of a bummer
by Item level. ... more or less. meaning find better ilvl base
No, you cannot upgrade levels of granted skills on the item. Only get an item with better gem level.
Yeah sorry, I did mean that if the items could drop with higher skills or if they were stuck like that. Thanks!
Does this work if my max ES is 0?
You need at least 1
Hello, if you do not take meta into account what was the starter build you add the mort fun with ? Gameplay wisr
Varastha djinns

Gonda check thanks
Can skeleton lightning mage proc fulmination sceptres passive on its own?
What is the best minion / spectre that would synergize well with a lot (~200%) of extra damage as chaos buff applied?
How did you get that number?
chayula summoner probably
since its very generic dmg multiplier and most enemies have 0% chaos anyways, any hit based minion kind of benefits the same from it
Not just kind of ... Exactly
Since most if not all minion investment is generic
The only difference is if you use wither or exposure
Chayula yeah with selfless remnants on purple flames
Assuming they even work
Cuz supposedly right now in 0.4 they don't
Use the helmet instead anyway ... Then you can keep the flames for yourself too
The helmet is a possibility I guess but you'd lose some minion levels and flames won't do much for you if you are a pure minion build I guess
they did confirm fixing that
The helmet also gives you charge generation xD ... Well sort of
goodge
Still doesn't fix zombies sucking so much
Sadge
I am trying to cook up a pob for chaluya minions, i guess i will use skeletal snipers for now
Prob
well, pure chaos minions will benefit a bit more since their "base" damage will be multiplied by wither too
but tbh w/e, best hit based minion will work
(I'd say preferably lightning since shock is good as well as that esh support)
Ye but outside of what debuff or curse you use minions are scaled identical
Other than like I think maybe some flat dmg rolls on jewels?
I don't remember if poe2 has that
not yet afaik
it's kinda obvious what debuffs and curses you will use with that much chaos tho
then again my vote for storm mages simply cause when you get enough speed and damage QoL matters and they have best QoL(long range pinpoint accurate instant damage with chains)
And shock
Also you could use the lineage gem to convert the chaos portion into also shocking
Basically triple dmg all going into their shock magnitude
I'll look into storm mages, thank you both!
I said that already 🙂
Oh I'm blind
I was thinking something among these lines https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1b2c8, ring is missing as we'll get some minion mods on crafted rings and I am not sure which one will be available yet. Some giga endgame items like Vortex, Prism & Dialla's are missing.
Explore economy and build overviews for the action role-playing game Path of Exile.
If I've missed anything obvious feel free to let me know 😅
Dps on pob seems decent, I may actually try this in act 2
you (probably) don't want skeletal warrior scepter
Anyone know if there is a Unique (other than The Infinite Pursuit boots) or a mechanic/interaction that can help me apply ailments onto myself?
its the best scepter base right now with muster existing, but hopefully muster gets a nerf
this unique has a vaalborn outcome that reflects curses you apply back to you, you'd need to remove the specific one you want tho
Curses aren't ailments tho
read the vaalborn mods
truly a poe player
Last line says Elemental Ailments and ngl this looks perfect for what i was thinking
it's around 5.5% more damage (from 28% more to 35% more), aura can give better stats and also have extra support slots for if you need smth
most aura bases are pretty bad tho, only wrath aura can somewhat compete with skeletal warriors
not wrath
uhh
whatever omen scepter is
malice
idk, I used purity simply cause res capping was a problem and 40 res is 40 res..
but malice is better ofc if you can res cap otherwise
(and probably give more than 5.5% more)
but yeah, muster is kinda too good
hope it will be nerfed and smth else buffed a bit may be around minions
If I have 3 charms of the same type, and I get the corresponding ailment, will all 3 trigger or only one at a time with the rest acting functionally as extended charge pools?
one at a time iirc
Damn
has anyone tested this?
Does "Sacred Flow" from Shaman work with "Cannot use Charms"?
I would say yes. I would check though. Makes no sense why it shouldn't. It's not taking away the slots.
That's what I am thinking as well. I have to quick way to check it ingame though as I do not have a druid yet.
Thoughts on this tree if we don't end up getting a lot of good huntress companion nodes? I've seen Kripp wrapping around the bottom for more rage, but this seems like better pathing. Even before the two jewels can still sack some things to grab gigantic. Put this in amazon channel too, but not sure if its better suited here.
Does anyone have input for me on what a good maximum hit taken is for Phys/ Ele/Chaos?
has a general consensus been formed on what the best starter pet class is for 0.5?
There's never going to be a consensus on that. There's way too much new stuff to try and different builds are going to want different ascendancies. They've don't want one ascendancy just being "the minion ascendancy"
ive enever played any minion build so what's the usual go to ascendencies ?
you should browse poeninja for ideas
Explore economy and build overviews for the action role-playing game Path of Exile.
wait for patch notes; but in general Djinn is fun for minions plus commands from the ascendancy; lich is generically good for minions; spirit walker is potentially good for companions if they get enough love in the patch
you also have infernalist and tactition as well
hence why i told him...there isn't just a "minion ascendancy" like there is in poe 1 for the most part
probably druid wolf builds as well
is siphon elements bugged?
it says 5% on igniting non ignited target per power
so i go to great white one boss which is unique
so its 5% x 20
100%
and i never get any infusion from him?
Is corrupting cry decent? Want to ls it
for 0.4 its Varashta despite what ppl say. The reason is simple: the skill scale only with your level and yu dont even need to drop a 6l orb or lv20 gem
also being best suited for ES right now makes it the best starter class that relies the least on gear and rng
as for 0.5 .... wait for patchnotes
I know nothing guaranteed before patch notes
But is ED/CONT likely to be nerfed? Or was it fine last league where I can start preparing before patch notes?
Haven't played PoE2 yet, so don't know how the build fair against the norm, but it is the build that i'm interested in
Their methodology for poe1 is that some starters should just stay starters, meaning they won't get buffed to endgame viability and they won't get nerfed to no longer be starters
This is by no means guaranteed, they can make changes to any skill/support/spirit gem/etc and it might result in changes to EDC overall feel, but I think most would agree it won't ever change fundamentally!
Monsters have low hp values, meaning the bar for contagion being useful is super low. After that you just need stuff to kill rares so get creative there to deal with potential nerfs?
Bonestorm, sniper skele gas command, essence drain + dark effigy, black flame covenant keystone and run incinerate, those are four bossing ideas that are currently strong
Interesting. I was thinking of it as a potential late game build not from a starter perspective. The way I choose my build is to choose an end game build, make the final POB, then work backwards. can it be a comfortable late game build?
Yes, I've ran it before as have many others. most chaos damage nodes are near es nodes, leading to comfortable 10k es setups even with modest gear
Bossing gets slower as you put points for them, by far the biggest issue of the build
Sorry this second statement is not clear. What do you mean bossing gets slower as you put points for them? Shouldn't it be the opposite it? The more you level up, the higher gear you put in, the faster and better the bossing gets?
Bosses have like 2 million life in t15s
bossing on ED/C sucks
But as you put points into them they get turbo juiced
2-4mil is fine, but more than that and it's a staring contest
@slender furnace Sure it has a clear downside, which might be why it should be safe from nerfs?
@exotic compass Fair enough, but at higher investment, it's not going to be 20+ seconds right? Just to kill map bosses with more points
Look up gameplay at this point, dont take my word for it. Look at their gear and tree, see if it's attainable stuff or chase items such as prism of belief or a good against the darkness setup
i doubt ed/c is getting nerfed, but you never know. And yes, i was just explaining in basic terms, that the skill is going to be dirt slow at bossing
First of all, thanks for the comments about the single target. It'll give me ideas what to look for and practice.
And thanks for mentioning the names. I'll look them up and learn the set ups and see the prices.
I do tend to get a MB in poe1 every league, so it's unlikely that these set up are much more expensive? I hope so at least lol
If it kills a boss, non pinncal just normal map bosses, in ~10 seconds that's should be fine
50-100k essence drain DPS is average late game, and that's before conditional buffs so you should be fine
If a boss has 6M health after being buffed by whatever late game juicing has, that's like 80 secs on average lol
its very very slow bossing lol. Just look up videos on it, decide if you're good with it
I'm honestly unable to find a normal video of someone killing a map boss with EDC
Because YouTube videos are 95% PoB and 5% gameplay so of course the clips are going to be cherry-picked

Saw a frozen mandible ant build the other day, but also saw you can't tame them anymore. Anyone know any good replacements? Would a gargantuan wasp being viable?
You can look at when tuadh starts mapping. +2 wand, +1 focus, +1 amulet, and like 100% spell damage across all of that
Trash gear for trade standards
thats bait too, just use powered zealots like everybody else
Spark zealots ftw
thank you! a minion build is all new to me, usually I'm a one click sorc lmfao
i hope they get nuked, powered zealtos are the entire reason summoners are viable rn and its only because of the spark pierce bug
You want summons be non viable at all?
no but it will finally mean GGG will get off its 🍑 and buff minions across the board
It's not a bug
.. except if they nerf spark zealots in upcoming league then they change minions only in next one
So one league - 7 month - of non viable summoners
No, thx
ah yes, the moment you add pierce III to them their single target dps increases over 10 times, surely not a bug
it's a feature
Infernal Legion + tecrods revenge on wasps is great for general map clear, I used skeletal sniper command to one shot abyss rares and such
Much less of an eye sore than zealots and vaal guards but you don't have the same power as mentioned
100% viable tho, it's cope to say otherwise. Minions have plenty of clunk and comparing them to other builds (casters, martial) is almost always going to be a bad idea
Truditoru on YouTube has videos on wasps if you want a baseline to build off of
If smth is weaker and more clunky than most baseline options then it's bad and its cope to say otherwise
Lmao
Discouraging people from playing viable builds but w/e
Viable and the best are entirely different things
Clunkyness should be rewarded with more power for the trouble, not punished
Someone wants a melee minion, give them the best option available
Shit, even brutes are fine with impact shockwave
Here is without lvl 20 gems or good +4 Sceptre, just to show general mapping nothing special.
For zealots just picture walking 10-50% faster and your entire screen is blue
I like how you do not show bossfight or map tier or maps mods
Also I dislike word "viable"
Viable for what?
But even 20k es spark zealots wasn't really "viable" sadly
Cause it wasn't 100% proof for alch+vaal+go citadels
Is this support real? I was unable to find it in the wiki but PoB and DB has it. Nadir https://poe2db.tw/us/Nadir#NadirSupportGemNadir
Supports Skills which gain Stages or Seals. Supported Skills have lower Maximum Stage or Seal count, but have a Minimum Stage or Seal count they cannot fall below.
if with 20k es you dont feel foolproof for alc+vaal citadel thats more of a you issue than build issue
Well
I died to chain freeze from wolf
Once
So wasn't 100%
It's an old ass clip from leaguestart
you must not have had that much es then

chain freeze
20k ES
if you dont click ES as ailment threshold nodes, yes thats a you issue. But I doubt it really was 20k es
@sharp glade plenty of map mods to read in that video
Can link you pob some hours later
Except I didn't have 3k es regen at that point
Added rise of the phoenix later
Lich+rotf+that amulet+20k es and some regen nodes made it really immortal
How does Zenith interact with Infernal Flame?
How deos the damage the enemies deal compare to PoE1? I am struggling to find comparisons so I can adjust my planing accordingly.
It's all on poe2db, you can see their moves and damage relative to their level
Act 3 Doryani robot flying up and crashing down after 5 seconds is like... 800-900 phys I believe I'm curious to go check myself
Interlude azmadi can hit for over 2k iirc
its about the same, but you're slower and enemies are faster. Bosses still same one shot stuff, but more telegraphed imo. Still need res cap, chaos probably more important in 2 than 1, and still need your mutli-defense layers
OR....you build enough damage to one shot everything and defenses be damned
Is there a cap on gem level? Those new unique jewels are probably going to let us hit higher levels I would imagine.
40 is the hard limit
they are most likely nerfing gem levels on gear
Sorry if this has been asked, but do we have any details on how creators will create .build files supported in 0.5.0? Is this something that will need to be done in-game, or will we need to use something akin to PoB or other?
i wouldnt expect any of that to be available until much later in the league. Creators are going to rely on sites to probably extrapolate build guides into the format
or pob exports
really depends on how quickly people incorporate it into third party sites
Probably like some sort of a text file. Similar to loot filter. So most likely it's gonna be impossible to write one by yourself and instead you have to rely on PoB or something like that.
Makes sense. Thanks for the input @slender furnace and @sharp thorn
@slender furnace @exotic compass Thanks!
With AI tools these days shouldn't take to long to have a tool do this for you. They probably have something in mind already.
Ah, just ran across this. Haven't been on the subreddit in a minute.
They are like filter files. You could write them yourself.
So I have a huge debate on something I'm building rn but I wanna run it by and see how roasted I get for the meme build
So I'm running a lightning bolt build rn (trigger build)
I wanna set up a cast on charm set up with it relolving around self ignting.
How would y'all go about it if u made it.
(note it has to be on Oracle with inevitable critical)
Why do most builds use Wildshards II instead of Chain III for Powered Zealots? Is it because of the damage fallout or am I missing something else?
More proj
Read wild shards and chain
It'll make sense.
Damage fallout would be one.
But use wildshards and chain yourself and tell me what you see.
It'll be obvious why wildshards is better than chain.
idk if this fits here, but how do yall decide on a build to do? Cause ive got 3 or 4 in mind that I might try to make, but also dont want to do more than 2 for a leagie
Step 1. Try to make my own build based around a cool concept in my head
Step 2. Fail
Step 3. Look up a build guide done by someone who is much better at the game than I am
Step 4. Profit
would someone be able to help me figure out what id need to make a build with righteous decent and the new ice flowers ring work? Which ascendary would be best? I saw a lightning leap build (use lightning spear mainly though) that combined ice and lightning and crit so I figured I could incorporate them both somehow
nah after step 2 repeat step one, after few years ur good.
Does anyone know if you can create Mirage Archer clones while in demon form?
Using a non-spell skill will shapeshift you back to normal. While shapeshifted, your weapon(s)/off-hand will not be visible, but your weapon stats will still be applied normally.
From wiki - Makes me think maybe, but I don't have a witch to test. 🙁
Mirage archer requires spear, bow and crossbow to be active. you might be able to get one mirage off (?) but it will be disabled once use use a spell (other weapon set)
Something i dont understand here, can i not just build up the buff and then swap to a rare crossbow?
If so it seems kinda crazy
If not its a cool unique but not really that strong i feel like
Best specter to use on a full minion infernalist?
What's the name, charged zealot? that one
I think you can, though you mostly need to use the unique first to cycle different skills then switch to the "main" ability on the rare xbow
Does staggering palm scale with added projectiles ?
Like will the Owl buff from Spirit walker make it fire off more projectiles ?
yes
Oh that's nice .
Than spirit walker whirling assault ( assuming they don't nerf it ) might actually be pretty nice
Looking a non twister SSF viable builds for spirit walker that will take all animal nodes and improved stag node
Was eyeing grenades and molten blast + something as other options
The new unique armor showcase ( shown along facebreaker ) make it look like you set of stags lots of stags, so i'm hoping it will be quite viable
This looks like it's an ezomyte unique, and it has several unique mods
looks like a strong contender for runeification
I would stay away from theorizing runification untill we know more about it .
It's possible that the mods are set per item .
And it will be 1k divines
that's fair
now excuse me while I figure out how to cap block with every weapon type
I really want to play a totem build

When is the patch notes, 21st?
2 looooooooonnngggg days
BTW i heard that Breach Tree will no longer print rare weapons and armor ?
I wonder how usefull Tree will be for some uniques .
Magic items are still valuable for crafting
2 days then ill decide if im going spark totem or shockwave totem
Kinda interested in the breach tree more if it prints only magic items. More incentive to learn crafting your own stuff imo
Yeah with 7 months and what looks like a massive pro crafting endgame overhaul, i want to play SSF
but some uniques are of course bottlenecks in some builds ( like for example Crackling Barrier Martial Artist )
A bit sad that breach tree only prints jewelry. Would be awesome to print some OP armours like on POE1
Hell nah. Id prefer the tree just didnt exist at all, but we dont need every gear slot on the tree.
So torn between varashta and martial artist for 0.5, even with the 2 missing nodes
Djinns are smooth sailing but clones and bells sound fun
What’s everyone playing? Anything not monk/spiritualist
does anyone knows if Twisted Empyrian (the new frostfire mace) will work with the Avatar of Fire keystone node on the passive tree? Which one would have priority?
Considering chaos damage (contagion, essence drain, etc) and Chronomancer. Seems solid. Does Time Freezen stop dot ticking on targets?
your font is weirdge, thats enough distinction
You don’t like sad times
I don’t think it will. I think AoF would convert the phys and cold damage to fire on the mace itself, but then it wouldn’t convert the fire damage with mace skills back to cold damage, because it says “deal no Non-Fire damage”. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think conversions like that on a keystone override a lot of the conversion process
TDLR: I believe AoF would take priority
yeah, i think you're right, i dont know if theres something like this (item dmg conversion + keystone dmg conversion) interaction in the game atm to test it
but i guess you're right, i thought so, but i was afraid to be right LMAO
Conversions are a 2 step process. Both mace and aof conversion happen on the same step, but due to overconversion it normalises. So as avresult you get 50/50 cold and fire and due to deal no non fire damage part of aof you loose half of damage.
Or something like that. The mace converts only fire part but anyway, it's not a good way to use the keystone.
hi, what are some phys or chaos single target spells that work well with bm and or lich1/2
specifically in the scenario as an alternative/ weap swap for liminal coil
if the single target ends up being bad vs pinnacles and or ubers or whatever hard tanky content
Bonestorm maybe
If I'm levelling plants I'll use it for single target damage vs bosses
yeah I was thinking bonestorm, is it usually a standalone? or can it be peppered with some extra combos or interactions
Not sure what would combo with it, I'm planning on applying shock with some magnitude first. If you can get sources of extra dmg via other buffs why not
bonestorm doesnt really combo well with BM, BM is fameously bad at using phys spells
Has PoB been abandoned for PoE2? there's a few things that are missing/incorrect that i've seen and we haven't had an update in months
they are working on it, its just the same ppl working on both versions so they gotta jump between them with the leagues
You can always contribute if you notice issues as it is an open source project
There MIGHT be a weapon to test it but I can’t look right now. And yeah that would be an interesting combination though. The line that trips me up is Cold Damage from Mace skills, which makes it seems like it’s the fire damage from the skill itself instead of the weapon?
Yeah I know, whether people think it’s bad or good AoF is a full time investment for it to feel decent to use.
Are we for sure that ice shot is going to be nerfed
I had that planned days before this dude decided to upload a vid @fungun decided to do that shi on purpose cause he has to remove the fun from everything
just so he can pay his guys to give him free op gear
keep on RMT bro
💀
you jealous he makes $150k a month ?
dw he already said twisters stronger
focus shifted
No one has any clue what will get nerfed or buffed, aside from the things specifically mentioned by GGG. Leech is one of those things for example, ice shot is not
This is my first time doing a minion build, would taming a rare (with tame beast), that has powerful minions boost my minions or it doesn't work like that?
your minion's minions are not your minions
Got it, thank you!
dam i thought the ping was from a new teaser
Hey i was just about to try again and i saw a short about something that made like a persistent swarm of crows around you, what is that and what class do i need to choose to do that?
do we know if facebreaker will be affected buy stone hands Martial Artist passive?
In terms of numbers etc, does Facebreaker look like it could be used as endgame mapping weapon, or does it become objectively worse than a normal weapon once you're past campaign?
they said some unqiue's will be affected, that's all we know
we do know it will be affected, since it changes base types at bare minimum
we don't know if the modifiers will change drastically, if at all
it's the crux of every unique glove going on martial artist rn
so I wait and see situation, as everything else lol
I kinda got sold on using Face braker, I don't like maces and shields (visually) but some of their skills are awesome lol
I have no idea how much str can you stack, But it will be worse than a shield+armor gloves in terms of defenses
And I assume It will be worse than high end weapon... takes 500 str to get 100% more damage, but that's the only dmg mod on it...
Can someone help me with what gear to use I’m a lightning arrow deadeye build
first one is better for every metric you could use to compare them
first one*]
sorry lol
5x more evasion, spirit and resistances
also Es is easly offseted by the life the first one has
Why do people link herald of ice with armour break? Armour break is based on phys damage dealt but herald has convert 100% phys to cold
Cry more dude
guys, if im not wrong with liminal coil each cast is 2 proj right? so with spell echo its 4 proj per cast? , would each proj proc on-hit effects like archmage? or would it be on a per-cast basis? (so twice per cast since spell echo?)
So sick of the fubgun whining in this discord
then help me with my question 😛
I would if I knew the answer sir
is an interaction to make it chain of it self, you do need "Extra phys damage" on the weapon, so herald of ice can deal phys damage and break armour
any idea how to maintain power charges for hollow form
assuming stuff like killing palm doesnt work through hollow form
do guys think I'm safe to start Hollow Palm for my League start or wait for patch notes
patch notes are less than 5 days away man, just be patient, specially because hollow palm is terrible atm
patch notes come out before league start?
Are there any builds that use shapeshifting that you guys like?
all of them?
I've had a blast with wyvern/wolf, and ended up with a build that uses both lol
most damage comes from wyvern, wolf is there for leap, freezing for extra damage while mapping, and building combo fast on bosses
But cocaine Bear is also really fun... is probably going to be nerfed
ans someone made a Titan "Fire" Wolf, that looked awesome on the video
cocaine bear? lol
Yeah, you basically uses the skill he runs causing damage to everything arround, and exploit a mechanic, that uses self inflicted chill
with a unique that makes the chill slow becoming a speed boost instead
probably going to get nerfed, but it was really fun to watch, I just didn't want to make a Titan to play it
https://www.twitch.tv/mathil1 for daily live streams
https://twitter.com/MathilExists
https://www.instagram.com/mathilexists/
Fun while it lasted but it was mostly for the memes for me, don't wanna be quite this turbo and another hidden problem is... the looting after you've sped past things, lol.
https://pobb.in/bQ-4le3F07QJ - Lvl 66 PoB
http...
lol sounds wild
it sure is, If that had not announced any new ascendancies I would league started that, assuming they don't remove the mechanic
I'm interested in checking out a facebreaker, way of the stone fist, hollow palm build
hoping that they interact well together
they gonna need to drastically buff Hollowed Palm, or you to give up completely on having a nice balance between crit and attack speed
well, the idea is to go strength build (with enough dex/int for evasion/ES) for the MORE damage from the facebreaker mitts
wanted to go ritualist, but way of the stone fist sounds interesting, so going to check that out
I mean you are already not getting, any evasion or es from gloves, than Hollow Palm scales 1% attack speed per 75 evasion on gear not total, and 0.1% per 10 ES on gear
scaling it is kind of hard, a 2500 Evasion armor is already expensive enough, leaving only Boots and Helmet for ES, barely getting to 1k ES for 100% (so you can get the 10% base crit chance almost any staff has)
yeah, it's going to have problems that I'll need to solve, but half the fun is trying something new that is soemthing that I thought of and making it work
there are also going to be problems because we don't know much about any changes and things like way of the stone fist
yeah I agree, I came across as trying to talk you down, and I'm sorry for that
though, I think way of the stone fist also adds evasion to gauntlet (don't quote me on that)
I love trying off meta builds too so I undertand the feeling
this build will actually be my first monk class using quarterstaves...
first time was using a sorceress before they changed tempest fury from MORE shock magnitude to INCREASED...
having 2 100% shock magnitudes on enemies was nice....
can't do that anymore
not with quarterstaves at least
but, yeah, the nice thing about using hollow palm is that attack skills that move you like tempest fury make you go zoom across the map with the MORE attack speed multiplier
though, the annoying thing is getting stuck on the map...
Fair played it this league but didn't feel great tbh
Maybe a stupid question, but is there a way to make PoB not show me things (like support gems) that are not in the latest version of the game?
I'm VERY new to the game (haven't gotten past act 3 in campaign), what would a blood mage build look like/ what should I be looking for gear wise (currently running essence drain+ cont until first asc)
bloodmage is not a build, it's an ascendancy, you can describe a build at least by saying the name of a skill
bloodmage is useless for essence drain because it's a low mana cost build and you don't need life leech, but also you can't even get life leech because dark effigy attacks on its own
in the campaign you just stack life, resistances, + to skills, spell and chaos damage, both mods and passives. learn trading with real people
So im playing wyvern druid (probubly super unoptomozed) but I picked the Shamon ascendancy and am now struggling to pick placements
Hello, what are relianle sites to follow guides ? Like maxroll or mobalitics
I would only follow those two
But poe2.ninja can give you a good Idea of what ppl are doing if you are a bit more experienced
Ok thanks but maxroll is not a bait right ? If i find intersting gameplay I dont want to waste time on a build that is nit that good as I have limited playtime
Both sites have guides made by content creators, there is no guarantee what you find there will perform as you expect and scale into endgame. I agree on using poe ninja to learn more about different builds/archetypes and see what players are actually doing in game
builds on maxroll/mobalytics for the most part are good
how do you even build defenses if you use bringer of rain as a minion based spiritwalker
The main difference is that Maxroll doesn’t have many ways to see what builds are the most popular, and aren’t attributed to specific creators
They also don’t update old guides.
But also what’s popular on mobalytics isn’t always that good either, so can be misleading
Neither are perfect. Always check on which patch the build was created or updated.
You dont use bringer of rain if you want defense. Use giants blood and figure out the attributes or use a talisman with the scepter keystone
giants blood basically forces the build into armour based defenses which is not gonna be great without a shield imo and you probably need a lot of str rolls on jewelry or astramentis
lord of the wilds doesnt work with unique sceptres so gotta hope we can extract the the ultimited companions line from the new sceptre
i guess giants blood is still better than bringer of rain in that regard
You.dont have to.use the new scepter. New scepter doesnt seem all that great. You can always convert stat requirements on weapon with socketables i believe.
Why do you care about armor type when your alternative is just not even having a body armor?
just not a big fan of armour/life in general
well the whole point of trying to get 2h weapon is to scale it for companions, and without the sceptre you are limited to 1 companion (or 2 if you take the keystone that also reduces your defenses). going through the effort of getting 2h to only be limited to 1 companion or 2 feels a bit of a waste? idk.
We just dont really know without patchnotes.
Id suggest watching the videos kripp has been putting out.
yea watched that
is Arc build generally worse than Spark builds?
I'm making a weird build that could be really fun, but I spend about 5k mana per second. I can generate a lot of power charges and was thinking of consuming them to get mana with this node, but I'm not sure how to consume them fast enough or if there's other ways to recover that mana. I'm using bear form and am already spamming an attack so I would need something triggered, ideally without needing a target
could you go pyromantic pact infernalist and stack fire res and max fire res?
and like damage reduction etc
pyromantic pact gives you effectively infinite mana if you can survive the fire damage
no I can't, since the build is based on feral invocation, requiring me to actually spend mana
How do you get 4-5 slots on skills?
Jeweler orbs for normal skills, leveling up for class and basic skills, implicit skills from weapons won't change unless you find a higher level weapon
what time today does patch notes drop? anybody know
Is there a trap or mine build yet in the game ?
not today
no, wait for shadow class to drop
Sad
I mean in theory you can turn curses into "traps"
How do people make rolling slam fast? thing has + 1.5 seconds to attack time
1.5 sec is not that much
Litch's Price of Power is what I was looking at when trying something similar
For now that’s also my plan, with the 50% more cost as well
But I need to figure out how to trigger enough spells
whats the fastest levelling build rn that can be strong early
Act 1 2
infernal legions?
there's a lot of rly strong lvling setups atm tbh
twister appears to be the fastest
https://www.youtube.com/@GuyThatDies/videos
there's a bunch of runs here varying from 3hr30 - 4hr 30 for various setups
well shock cond 2 destroys campaign until act 4
as soon as we are 14
bt nt new league friendly
shock cond 2 is showing up to patch notes in a body bag tomorrow sir
just runs from 0 fresh start, and no none of these include oil grenade
all of these are likely to make it to 0.5 in similar shape, with the exception of possibly twister (kinda expecting nerfs) and wyvern druid (also expecting nerfs)
ye i suspect twister's getting tapped
oil grenade, infernal legion minions, shock cond 2, oil barrage
nuked
if not then they'd rule league start
pmuch
nah that shit is ass lol
it wouldn't sustain oil barrage anyway
even if it could i wouldn't click it
it makes bells near you which are instantly cullable
the bells spawn on you with a slight animation so you essentially always have to slightly backtrack / hit backwards
giving you power charges
without any special gems or building combo
building pcharge off those bells while mapping is going to be disgustingly slow and clunky
unless they change the spawn behavior
i will not click it
that's rly irrelevant
building pcharge for boss for something like oil barrage takes like
it will speed up campaign
0.5 seconds to build 3 pcharge
legit takes longer to actually cull 3 bells
than to use the current method
you can get power charge simply walking
campaign yes it'll speed it up a bit
you're already walking
no
they used killing palm on the bells every 5s or so when they spawned
in the content vid
yeah while walking to boss room
you dont need to get hit by illusion or build combo
to make pcharge
you can obarrage as soon as boss shows up
building combo once u have lineage supps takes like 0.5 seconds to gen enough combo for 3 charges
still it is slower than having them on boss spawn
and you can make more than 1 from support gems
on just 1 bell
in campaign building off the bell will be good yes
and tree
cus campaign building pcharge on boss is slow as fuck
building combo also requires lineage gem
yes ik
so league start nothing beats new monk
that's why i said campaign vs endgame
i mean
i wouldn't bank on
that at all, oil barrage has approximately -200% chance of getting through patchnnotes unchanged/unnerfed
have no idea if it'll still be good
or even be the same skill
oil barrage is the only thing I dont see them nerfing out of all the others
no shot
infernal legion striaght up bugs and hack
oil barrage is the most likely of the bunch to get nerfed
or changed into something different outright
oil brrage atleast need builder/pcharge
the interactions with salvo/nova proj/ricochet etc are unholy
infernal legion needs nothing
there is 0 chance it lasts
and is walking simulator
i had enough dmg to 100-0 ubers in ~1s with
same with twister making you move fast not just do shtloads of dmg
yeah but it has a requirement until others
infernal legion also doesnt need any gear
having a requirement doesn't mean it's in a reasonable state
you can spend your points on defense
again
it 100-0s ubers in 1 second with a lv 1 weapon
that thing is not making it into 0.5 untouched
i'll eat my sock if it does
then they'd need to buff wyvern otherwise
because the other skills suck ass on it
auto attacking isn't it
flamebreath evaporates ubers in 1s as well, that thing is for sure not getting buffed
rend needs nerf
it's boring but way too strong
the other wyvern skills could use buffing yea
esp rolling magma
that shit ass
because spells still need +levels
wyvern shouldn't be all aboutfbreath or nothing
I don't think they will put obarrage in gutter perhaps change it
it's going to be changes almost for sure
rather than just numbers nerfs
cus the way it currently works from a mechanical standpoint
also fbreath is too late in campaign
is just busted and wrong
they wanted to move skills they said
earlier
like eye of winter which is also very late
i'm guessing they might hit something with respects to obarrage's terrain chain interactions
if they don't hit how it scales with proj's/ricochets, spiritwalker will 100-0 any boss in 1s with like full white gear
kinda expecting a pounce nerf too
but we'll see
maybe pounce gets away with it
Is elemental Archon just dog shit? Is there any way to get the uptime really high and have the tradeoff be worth it? the 20 second default down time is brutal.
How would additional arrows affect snipe? Does it add more damage and shotgun? Or would snipe just hit the boss once
I'm pretty sure it doesnt shotgun with the projectile, but the explosions do if you can manage to get the other to also explode
it's fine but don't build around it
it used to be good in 0.1 i think
Can you elaborate? Is it worth taking the nodes to reduce the recovery period + the duration?
Or do you mean don't for example, take the desecrated affix to reduce the recovery time?
Don't believe ele archon existed in 0.1
either way. given what's available on the passive tree, can a stormweaver thrive on that as a core component of their build?
no, ive tried a lot to make it work and its just bad to work around, you can try using it as an occasional damage boost but thats about it. The best user for it is oracle right now actually because of one oracle specific node wich works in a very buggy way, but essentially doubles your crit dmg if you use it right
im having mana problems if anyone cares to add what piece i should add it on im a lightning deadeye build
Nope, its just trash. Im sure someone will come in with some wonky build and say how great it is though
Only thing I could think of is if you’re playing some sick twisted build that benefits from “x thing happens when taking damage” like recoup or whatever. Either way the consensus is it’s not really used at all.
yeah... Being a full thorns build is the only think I can think that would have a slightly chance to use that node
I think archor was introduced in 0.2 or 3 lol
0.2 then but I don't think you can make a build around that
It has a strict downtime
even if you try taking all the archon nodes
( easiest for Oracle )
Yeah, they did nerf it, before you could make the down time very low i believe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GgzX8DJHow
this guy tried it but this sucks
Info on the 3 new elemental archon buff passive nodes added to the passive tree in patch 0.3.
Info on how long they last and what the active recovery period associated with them is.
as it is now, would be better to be an skill that when used gives you the buff
so you can at least choose when to burst
yeah but you can weapon swap incinerate just to enter archon
you gain elemental archon
then you can do whatever it is you're doing for dmg
have flammability on second wep set or the flammability staff ( cheap unique ) on weapon swap
hum... that can be useful, maybe when I'm feeling like playing mage again, I'll redo my lightning conduit build using this
I'll just need to figure out a way to making Lightning Counduit do a lot of damage
exposure
curse
crit lightning conduit
the usual suspects of dmg amp
play stormweaver double shock
Hey when will the patchnotes be released?
Tomorrow
Does slows like chronomance, temp chains increase how long enemies are stunned for?
Are slotted curses into blasphemy granted buffs by quality?
slotted curses just depends on how many sockets you have on the gem. 60 spirits per curse you socket, and quality just reduces the spirit cost
Alrighty, tyvm!
what?
it doesn't get much stronger over time , you can get the glove uniques and cast it yourself for amazing slow
blasphemy reduces slow effect
also
In poe1, action speed reductions increase the length of stuns on enemies ^^ If a enemy is heavy stunned in poe2 they do a animation and it feels logical that the animation would take longer with action speed reductions like temp chain and the chronomancer node
use the new lineage support that pacifies them
it doesn't increase their stun duration
but it definitely slows their actions
stack magnitude
Ohh there was a mention on the "action speed" page on the wiki, stating it does work on the stun animation ^^ so the duration of the stun would be longer
stun animation isn't the same thing as 'stunned'
so if you want the boss to be stunned for whatever else you're doing the temp chains don't keep the boss stunned longer
you can make the boss move quite slow with some setups
but they're not 'stunned' in game code
So they are in the animation longer but the stun itself has the same length
weird
Do you have a video/source for that? ^^
No
but there is also no video source of what you're saying
that temp chains increases stun duration
Then the wiki is wrong about it I guess
It was added by Blvcksvn last year, so not the most recent info but I'd trust Blvcksvn
just at him if he's in this discord
@
aren't they a mod here, I am sure they used to be
you can simply ask a mod to get in touch
Tested it, seems the actual animation is slowed, but it's cancelled and the boss can do other actions after the stun bar runs out
Not what I expected at all
wonder if it's a oversight or a actual balance consideration, could look very funky with high action speed slow as the boss would seemingly instantly stand up after being knocked back
Does anyone know if Biting Frost consumes freeze buildup and not just a full freeze? I would expect it to but my own tests have been inconclusive
Is there a support gem/tech that makes warcries automatically recast/echo? Some of the gameplay in the content reveal has a warcry being cast like 3-4 times during a rolling slam
echoing cry support but it's kinda dog
Thought so, but wasnt sure. The gameplay frrom the trailers where they use the big 2h mace has it on. Hopefully that means its somehow buffed
i dunno if i'd call it dog
it has some pretty good uses as is
it's very common to throw on ferocious roar in particular
to just max out your rage in one press
on a lotta builds you don't really want to keep spamming warcry, so just tapping it once at the start of a bossfight and having it proc 3 times is pretty good value
Does minions/companions inherit your rarity of items stat? Or do you need the gloves that makes enemies in presence killed count as killed by you for that stat to apply?
advanced info
on kill effects
they should
but you can confirm in advanced info
Has anyone tried supporting fire tactician for league start? Any feedback?
gimmick
the boss dmg is trash
and scaling the skill is weird since minion scales it
good for clear but even then we have so many better skills for clearing trash in this game
you can literally do a google search
the boss dmg is so trash even with so much investment that there's no way it succeeds on patch day when we have weak gear.
unless they greatly buff this skill in the enxt few hours
Thanks! I was hoping it would be viable with some strength stacking and minion cdr during the campaign but yeah, lack of boss damage could be concerning
Maybe still playable though, that's why I asked here
na it's shit even with a minion amulet or godly astramentis
I tested it 4 days ago
it is streamer bait
I see, many thanks!
its amazing for clear even for juiced t16 with +minion scepter+helmet+amulet
nobody will have that much STR on patch day and it was so mid
I already said good clear
so this pointless to say
then just use spectres for single target?
^^
Its clear is not BETTER though, it is good
and no you dont have skills with as huge AoE as this for summners
I have played it and it hits more than the whole screen
we are not specifically talking abt summoners
we are talking abt builds
this isn't even a summoner build
if you are not going to scale minion levels on it, might as well not play the skill
the clear is good like I said many sentences ago
but it is not competitive with clear of many other skills in this game
room wide but rare still alive
is not good clear in my book
its probably the #1 clearing skill for minion builds
one click to clear an ntire abyss of anything but rare mobs
because the dmg is so bad
we need to kill bosses
to get the uniques
and not the story mode bosses
we need to redo them after clearing the story mode
and I simply cannot advice someone to take this in good faith
if you are worried about single target, good thing summoners have a spectre that deletes bosses called powered zealot 👍
they won't have minion gear or str like I have right now in 0.4
It looked interesting to me as a way to rush t15 and have good clear for breaches, abyss etc.. but I don't want 2 minutes boss fights 😅
Anyone planning a raven build just for the sake of the ahhhh sound ?
Nope
False information
Yeah I'm kinda curious why it should be considered bait. Getting to 800+ str would give a lot of damage and solve defenses entirely with conversion to ES%
Maybe at the same time they've been releasing teasers
Hey guys, do you know if anyone in the short history of POE2 made Giant's blood work with 2 2H maces?
in 0.1 2 2h maces were meta for totems
lvl 40 totems were stronk
Oh that's cool I guess I missed it, I'm really hoping to see if we can make stampede / rolling slam work with 2 2H for this season - guess its hard to tell without patch notes
so hollow palm basically tags unarmed attacks as quarterstaff right? so quarterstaff nodes on the tree still benefit you even with hollow palm?
Well quartertstaff attacks benefits you with hollow palm .
mace attacks wont ( assuming you have both hollow palm and facebreakers for some reason )
qstaff nodes do not benefit you if you run hollow palm
thats why facebreaker wont either
Am I thinking of this right -
Blackfire Covenant converts all fire damage to chaos damage.
Does this mean that anything that does +fire damage, AND anything that does +chaos damage will benefit fire abilities?
Is "Ignite" different from "Burn"?
damage increases only apply after conversion in poe2. So only chaos dmg increase applies.
Burn means all fire damage over time effects, blackflame ignite isnt a burn anymore cause its not fire damage anymore.
Ah, good to know, thank you.
Is there any good way to prevent hits as a strength based build?
Perfidy? 10-30% avoidance
Block is the most common way.
8PM is psychotic behavior
Block still counts as being hit though doesn’t it?
Cool thanks this is helpful.
knockback or slow helps too, so temp chains?
What does "50% increase blind effect" mean? 20% less accuracy goes to 30%?
Does using ancestral bond remove totems manacost to cast and give u max ammount u summon with one click or how does it work?
like pretend i have 750 spirit, do i summon the 10 totems individually with manacost or does it work like other skills that reserve spirit with no mana cost?
thx if anyone has played this )
the only thing it does is instead of them being replaced if you cast more than lets say 2 when your limit is 2, the limit is now based on your spirit. It still costs mana, you still have to summon them one by one.
so with 750 spirit you can see it as your limit being 10. It's no affected by limit modifiers like "+1 to limit of totems skills", but is now modified by modifiers to reservation efficiency
can you like have 2 spiraling conspiracy at a time so you have double dmg? for example casting sp using time snap skill and then casting it again to create liek 2 instances
Hii guys, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in collaborating in building builds
does anyone know if multiple sources of additional aftershock stacks?
i.e. if i equip hrimnors hymn and then play as a Titan and grab the chance to cause additional aftershock from the passive tree would i be able to cause multiple aftershocks?
I feel like i have been getting better with skill tree
okays so getting +1 totems etc isnt rly worth when picking this or does the +spirit cost start when u reach the "natural" limit? thx for answer.
Anyone got a good theory craft for the raven rf
How's Spaghettification? Do I need one of the 'recoup damage as life' abilities to offset?
Im going to link my contagion crawlers build and you can tell me what to adjust https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/59q7ou03

With Blackflame Cabal - as Incinerated enemies are taking chaos, is that considered a chaos dot for the purposes of dark effigy?
samsung gamer
am i understanding the new phase form properly for chronomancer? if you get hit for 100 you take 70 and then after a 4 second delay you take 21?
It sounds like a general stagger mechanic?
the spirit cost replaces the limit, it's not on top of it. So +limit is useless
but is the 30% delayed stagger on pre or post mitigation?
Not sure sorry!
you take 30 damage after 4 seconds, not 21.
how do you know? is there a similar mechanic in the game or poe1 that works like that?
because recoup is calculated post mitigation
or rather, you take 21 in the end since it is then affected by the 30% less damage as well, but it's not just the 30% less that affect it. The base damage you will take is 30, then it is reduced by every defensive layers you have, like armor, damage reduction, resistances etc
I "know" from the wording. I can't be 100% sure but it wouldn't make sense to have this wording if it worked differently than that
thats what i was thinking originally but i dont think this is true anymore because then you'd have to take 30% of that damage until the damage hits 0e
it will just exclude that second hit
so as a baseline with no other forms of mitigation just taking phased form is just a flat 9% less damage from hits and 30% less dot dmg taken
man thats so busted
It deals 30% of damage dealt by an enemy. That 30% delayed damage is dealt by you to yourself, not by an enemy
yeah
is that the strongest defensive ascendancy node in the game?
depends on the build. Some can add way more tankiness like crimson power, grasping wound which is similar but can be stronger, eternal life in some cases, protect me from harm, embrace the darkness... All of these can be stronger, but require investment.
I just cited a few that came to mind tho
Petrified Blood is a spell that reserves mana to protect the character's lower half of their maximum life by causing a portion of the immediate life loss from hits to be lost over time instead. At higher skill levels, the amount of life loss over time is reduced, even though the percentage of immediate life loss prevented remains constant. As a ...
it's not the same at all
In poe 1, you cant mitigate the life loss
not at all
petrified blood is similar to grasping wounds
Similar...do you understand what that word means?
right but its not the same so why are you linking it lol
it means that in this case it's irrelevant
Says the guy asking because he doesnt know.....
So do you know the answer or not?
i dont think anyone can definitely say what the answer is until we test it unless theres an existing similar mechanic i'm unaware of
yes I do, and no I didn't ask
we can say what it is since the wording isn't too ambiguous, unless they worded it wrong
Oh the other guy asked.
Didnt know you got patch notes plus early patch to test.
You know nothing lmfao
And not for nothing...petrified blood works the same as you described here.
You take 30 because you take unmitigated danage
petrified blood is life loss, not damage
well if you had a flat 30% less damage taken in poe1 you would still take 30 damage with petrified blood
but we're guessing right now you'd take 21 from this new node
no you would take 21 because life loss is after mitigation
it would first reduce the damage by 30%, then you would take 70% of the remaining now and the rest over time as life loss
right, like recoup i guess
It works like that poe1 delirium ascendancy node
oh right
actually no, it's also life loss, not damage
Hmm
Sad
W/e, as long as you survive oneshot you are cool
pretty much, but could be useful to know for specific interactions ig
there could be some interesting mechanics here if your character relies on you getting hit
cuz every hits on you ends up being 2 hits
except the second one is self damage, not dealt by an enemy
yea
torn for example won't work
are patch notes out yet
no

poedb says in a bit over 4 hours, but idk where they found that info
at least ill be done with work by then
Ayo guys, do you think it'd be possible to play Chronomancer with the new Raven RF unique?
What do you guys think should be a strong league starter? One that does not depend on gear and can get through the campaign to endgame rather quickly and safely. I just want to get to endgame to get some economic foothold and then switch to the chrono and the boss tamer.
Wait for patch notes I suppose?
No way to know for now if X is gonna be good. They could just giga nerf it
How you boss taming on chrono?
Raven Flock is a unique staff with minion.
Thats not boss taming
Oh, I misread, sorry.
Np
There is no way afaik
I think they meant having 2 characters? One chrono, one tamer
Yeah that was what I was thinking but didnt make sense in the context of them wanting to rush to endgame
Yep, I meant both.
So I suppose no way to be able to tell yet. I'm not asking for the most OP build, just something solid I can use as starter.
Would Thunderstorm on coc/coea just be a worse and more expensive version of Overwhelmingly presence?
that bein an Ice Strike Falling thunder build
Does anyone know what happens with "faster charge of energy shield recharge" if you take eldritch battery? Just want to know if any of the ES charge nodes are worth taking after the fact
It does nothing
There a website people go to plan a build? Or rather I know there likely is, but what's a gud one?
best one is a 3rd party tool called path of building, there is a version for poe 2
Ah thank you, I'll give it a search
Even recharge rate?
You have 0 ES so it doesn't recharge
Ah damn so im assuming in order to sustain EB you just need a ton of mana regen? Or does EB not scale with base either..
Depends on the build really and how much mana does EB give you. If you get a lot of mana then your mana regen will be stronger and it might offset the doubled mana costs
You probably want to figure out what to do with defences if you are losing all your ES 😅
I was thinking of pairing it with MoM but let me go back to the drawing board lol
Yeah MoM is great if mana stacking
Elemental archon after spending 100% of mana - does it work with mana flare procs? Each proc consumes 25% of mana so it should be easy to keep uptime for the archon buff right?
Archons are not currently worth the investment you have to put into them. If you find a balance between # of passive tree points invested and amount of damage or quality of life gained then awesome, but it's not widely used
Just wanted to try something, so does mana flare work for it?
"Fortifying Cry: Now only consumes one stack when you detonate a shield wall to create a shockwave around each shield wall segment. Fortifying Cry Shockwaves from a single Shield Wall cannot hit the same enemy multiple times. Shield Wave now deals 5 to 7 Added Physical Damage per 15 Armour on Shield (previously 6 to 8)."
Dead build now?
@eager mantle
rip shock conduction 2 🫡
reformed barrier removed
RIP
Yes
So how are companions looking? I rly wanna get baited into spirit walker
ehh, look like it's minion lich again
druid caster dream shattered
w/e
No mana flare bugfix in the patchnotes? its over.
also infernal legion nerf for w/e reason
rip
theres a bunch of videos on how OP infernal legion is
Flicker strike viable?
is it me
or does infernalist spell totem look completely broken
- threaded light/grip of kulemak
- going low life with the infernalist low life nodes
maybe something with infusions which would be less annoying with totems
On the topic of totems, the Ancestral Bond notable say "Totems reserve 75 spirit each", is this halved for tactician with A solid Plan (Persistent buffs have 50% less reservation)?
Yeah
totems aren't buffs
I might actually look into spell totem infernalist and scale crit bonus to the moon
need a good spell with high base crit chance for spell totems I guess
gonna be spending the next week figuring out if i should be baited by spell totems
The Soul Mantle Unique Body Armour no longer has 20-30% reduced Totem Life, it instead now has +75 to Spirit.
This can be cultivated
"Non-Channelling Spells cost an additional 6% of your maximum Life", how does this interact with spells casted by totems?
So the "strong" starters are pretty much the same, Nades, Bow, Mace, and the rest
bone blast
I'm being baited to do a Gathering the storms Build... those changes to tempest belt are juicy
