Yeah if you can scale stun to where you stun packs every shot you never reload and get legitimately really solid clear
i wish there was a phys clearing skill though
idk how much increased phys there even is though, probably doesnt matter
yeah nm its prob all inc proj damage and stuff
yeah i might try deadeye with hvr and cluster grenades for bosses and galvanic for clearing
So question:
Poison shotgun
Or
Chaos Incinerate cast on ignite?
Where can i find the patch note please ? its not on the forum ?
?
where did you find it exactly please ? i couldnt, thank you
ohh it is not updated for my language. i switched to english and now i see it, thanks
has the passive tree in poedb site or maxroll planner been updated to s3?
no
it needs to be datamined when the preload happens the night before launch
anyone tryna plan out rarity bots together before 0.3
aren't those pointless for farming?
i see.. thanks..
they are pretty useful with party play of course
I mean, if you split the loot evenly it's less loot than when playing solo
no matter if the support player has 600% rarity or not
it's only 50% more currency per player
its worth it for more consistent bigger drops i would say, the really rare items is what i want
And it's fun in the sense that playing in a party and fighting for kills isn't fun lol
If player 1 has 122% rarity and deals damage to a mob, player 2 with 12% rarity shouldn't feel bad about dealing the final blow
Question if anyone knows how it works before I test it myself; how does Volatile Power work with Emergency Reload? Does each individual shot count as an empowered skill use to build volatility or does it only count as a single use?
not sure actually
but thats a great question
for balance reasons I would assume its only on reload
as thats when the 'skill use' happens, and when the skill's cost is removed
lol its every bolt fired
just tested
Planning on doing infernalist demon form for 0.3, wonder how well thats going to work now with the changes.
Question:how well would that new skill nodable Black flame covenant work out for an chaos infernalist build
Has anyone come up with a build using forge hammer and mjolner?
Depends on how much u can scale chaos damage in new passive tree
previously it was dogshit
Real Bet
How do people new to the game just wondering
Just a quick question to people out there what is the best support for a low level which at level 5 my skills are chaos Bolt skeletal warrior unearth skeletal sniper and Contagion just curious kind of new to the game much help would be very appreciated
Did Demon Form get buffed or nerfed?
what kind of build/skills is now recommended for demon form build?
depends, it’s still spell damage
But with 1500% more damage I imagine you can use whatever spell you want
Okay, ty for the answer, guess hopping somebody makes a good leaguestart with it
You could be the one
Nahhh
What do u guys think is the closest build to rf?
current beira, but its dead in 0.3
Is it possible to inflict two shocks with the same hit when using Stormweaver's Strike Twice notable?
Also, if you use a skill that consumes shock, like Siphoning Strike, on an enemy that has two shocks on them, does that skill consume both at the same time?
how come?
changed from igniting all enemies in range to creating burning ground
dead might be harsh
but itll function vastly differently
Any guesses from old players if converted elemental damage will proc cast on elemental aliment? I used cast on freeze before but it doesn't work with fire spells converted into cold so I have high hopes for new one
what about torns, that is also basically a walk and kill build, or not?
ye
theyre releasing a new spirit gem which is a swarm that auto spawns and attacks nearby enemies, if theres solid ways to scale it that could be what youre looking for
Once rf comes into play im 100% going black flame lol chaos rf will be op
did they release some data about it?
nope:(
maybe theyll tease it, otherwise we'll have to wait until launch
this is all we know
I see
How conversion work in poe2 ? Let's say i have equiped this helmet and i'm using iron reflexes, will it still give me 10% of my evasion rating as deflecting before the evasion being converted to armour ?
pretty sure iron reflexes means you have no evasion anymore, so you get 10% of nothing
this is almost assuredly the case
however you technically can get deflection from armour from tactician
Guys i want to play a high velocity round + galvanic shards build - deadeye has to be best for this right? Like is there any reason merc would be better?
I would only recommend Tactician if you are either using Immobilisation quite heavily (stun/freeze/pin/electrocute), or need a ton of persistent buffs
Gemling and Witchhunter are ok
the banner stuff seems good now but it seems annoying to play. i dont wanna be micro managing banners
witchhunter and gemling cant compete?
Witchhunter has fantastic conditional defense in Sorcery Ward, and can also offer quite a bit of generic damage
but the quality of life of attack and movement speed from deadeye is amazing
Permafrost + Fragmentation Rounds is going to be great and easy leveling
frag rounds now chain to frozen targets
and deal insane damage to them
Has nobody looked at firestorm? With siphon elements you can literally call elemental storms..
Is warrior still slow and clunky? I dont want to play Deadeye each new update
that highly depends on build
warrior is kind of all about slow meaty hits that blow up packs
but you can also play crossbow warrior
Then don’t play DE, it’s not that deep
Warrior was more than fine in dawn and will probably feel good in 0.3 too
The movement speed is addictive tho
What is the best class/ascendancy for a tri element build?
I tried invoker in 0.2 but stormweaver also seems pretty cool
whichever works best with firestorm imo.
tri-infused firestorm could proc a ton of ailments -> cast on elem ailment for the 3 orbs -> snap them to drop infusions -> repeat
invoker could help more with better energy gain and ignored resists
will monk be a good way to start the league? hoping to go unarmed, likely pick invoker and go some sort of (charged staff) melee attack + stormwave until i can transition to (charged staff) flickerstrike + stormwave, utilizing elemental expression and heralds to teleport around and explode enemies
mainly worried about mid game power, the feasability of using flickerstrike in early mapping, and especially bosses (not sure how i will generate a lot of power charges against bosses...)
They also added a new support gem that inverts the enemy resists but i dont think it’ll be that accesible
it’s Rakiata’s, it’ll definitely be t1 or t0
https://youtu.be/VwjF7h2vuLM?si=EL9GYLPpjgnbAMy0&t=596
This video I just watched said, that monk is not a "good" choice.
i was considering gemling too
but i dont want to play merc for a third time in a row...
sorc maybe?
sorc flickerstrike?
i wanted to play a fast teleporting melee combatant that explodes everything, ideally
that's flicker
Is there even another melee build besides flicker that would fulfill these requirements
probably not
but thats why i want to try flicker
and i was hoping monk was not just a safe pick to work with flicker
but also a pick that can quickly get into a similar build earlygame so i dont have such a harsh transition in endgame
If Hallow Palm is as good as it was in poe1 for speed leveling. My meta prediction will be Ranger Hallow Palm leveling then switching to Dead Eye something.
will monk be far behind? or just not SUPER optimal?
No clue.
its probably not gonna be as good for speed leveling because the base damage is not gonna be based on DEX like poe1, its gonna be better for endgame than poe1 and worse for early game than poe1
I din't think hollow palm will be as good as it is in poe1 for leveling
I expect it to be only good in mid-end game
but how much worse. Because worse then poe1 could still be very good in poe2. Compared to other leveling builds (on leaguestart not twink) how good/bad you guys think it is?
Hey question about poison. I know that default, you can only have 1 stack of poison. Does this single application stack? I remember poe1, poison could stack freely. Does changing that default with a plus 1 to total 2 give two applications that can be stacked on?
I think I'm just coping and you only get 1 stack + passive additions and that's it.
Does the stat "break % increased armour" apply to armour broken by corrosion?
It does not stack. You can apply more than one stack, but only the most damaging one(s) will be active at any given time, up to your current limit, same as in PoE1 with ailments like Ignite. Generally, you'd pick up some sources of "Targets can be affected by +1 of your Poisons at the same time" from passives, supports and items to increase the limit.
I doubt it's going to be better in endgame because while more aps for evasion is super nice (to the point I was thinking about a queen of the forest Amazon hollow palm build), you get a LOT of gem levels from your weapons, so getting higher levels for flat phys is going to be harder unless you decide to go ritualist to try and make up for no weapons.
Tldr: wait for datamine and see flat phys numbers per level
man im leveling a crossbow chart on live right now and it feels so trash early on... i even have a decent low lvl crossbow. act 1 was a slog
Use grenades until galvanic shards
I’m praying there’s more than 2 phys spell clusters this patch. the whole talk about character fantasies gives me the impression that pure phys blood mage will be usable
isnt there some thing that makes broken armour also reduce elemental resistances on mobs?
what kind of poe2 POB dps should one aim for? i don't really have any benchmarks so I can't tell
why are so many people saying new fire warrior is bait?
sniper's mark isn't attacks only, right?
one of the new notables allows armor break to affect fire damage. dunno about all resistances
so is bow deadeye really still the best starter for 0.3? I've been watching videos and reading up on the patch notes. Wondering what people here think.
deadeye seems to be overtuned. snipe deals insane damage before crit
ah ok. do u remember where they showed that?
I don’t have an exact timestamp. it’s either during the warrior new skills or somewhere in the section about the tree
33:32
whats the best levelling strat gonna be for deadeye? Is it still lightning?
could still be lightning. poison leveling will be better than before but maybe not more than lightning
took the opportunity to check the int region during the tree showcase. no new diamond clusters that share icons with the other phys spell clusters
though there is one blood-like cluster other than the one focused. maybe a life cluster?
also forgot there was a third phys spell cluster, but it just adds phys as chaos
Do Demon Stitcher gloves work with the Lich eternal life node? I'm seeing conflicting answers online
I feel like they should given that the Last Lament xbow does, but idk
If they do, it's a bug. I wouldn't build around it expecting that interaction to last. You can't sacrifice life if you can't change your life.
you sacrifice 0 life so you get 0 energy shield
so is last lament just bugged atm?
Yes that's a bugged interaction, likely to be fixed in 0.3
So they added a spirit? Gem that when you apply an ailment ypu have a chance to drop an infusion.. with magnetism you can easily collect and just spam tri element firestorm. All you need is a high ailment application
It's called siphon elements
Hey lads.
Im not usually a ranger player, but with the changes to tanks (that i dont like) and addition of deflection etc, i feel like this will be THE league to play deadeye.
My thoughts are:
-
Stack evasion/acrobatics, ES/ghost dance, and stack dex for that "life per dex" node they showed off. Deflection means evasion/ES (which was already very strong) will now be even stronger now.
-
Torn between using grenades and LA/LR. LA/LR seems like a "safe" choice, but im not sure how the bossing damage will be (since orb of storms has been changed), and also worried that because its what Fubgun plays, it will be impossible to afford any good gear.
Has anyone played grenade deadeyes before? How do they feel? Early/mid/late? Do you focus on single nade type, or do you use all of them? Does delayed damage not cause issues in late?
I wonder if I can use marohi to launch forge hammer then switch to fast attack speed mace to trigger a lot of aftershock
So the play for poison is one massive hit then to maximize dot dmg? Sounds like a poison unarmed monk isn't the play then because it's all about att speed and not single heavy hits. Do you agree?
Typically, most builds would pick up some max stacks to be able to apply more than one Poison to an enemy.
Just use Ancestral Cry and run over the fissures
best Asc for upcomming mortar totem you think?
Right but the max is 5, 10 if ranger. I'm just trying to think of ways to maximize chaos dmg for the new chayula stuff with out making a chaos mage monk
hellllo guys, What you think for summoner build in this league? always like summoner build but i dont know any good now?
is armour explosion for clear a thing anymore?
how does armour exploison damage scale? is it just 100% of your weapon damage or what?
You're asking in the wrong game's channel. This is for PoE2, your PoB is clearly from PoE1.
This is the ingame tooltip, not sure why the Attack Damage % doesn't show on the wiki.
yeah armor explosion is based on your main hand weapon damage, regardless of how it is triggered
Even if you trigger it with something like a shield skill, you use your Mace not your Shield weapon the skill uses.
Any good resources for builds rn all he ones I see seam to be from a few months ago when the market was in a different state
do yall think hollow palm league starting would be bait and a bad time?
hollow palm warrior is the way to go i believe
I think its gonna be bait to leaguestart it but im still gonna do it
it all depends on damage values on h.palm
anyone know if you can have 2 weapon sets with the same weapon in 0.3? or was it cut again
hollow palm going down in history as biggest bait oat
if hollow palm will be a bait it will be the easiest to fix
dont think it will be a bait tho
What will the best non monk hollow palm ascendancies be? I want to try bloodmage
Ritualist is my bet
why? @woven depot
Extra ring slot with flat damage
interesting, hadnt considered that one
or mana stacking council lich, but that’s just good for attack builds in general
yea unique mask
barely any mind of the council liches on poe ninja @woven depot
They’re missing out
only on lich?
i like that mask idea
need to scale dmg reliable somehow without weapons
wish we had all the new sup gem and passive tree info
I agree
Maybe not as leaguestart but i think Titan might cook
Since it has all the stun nodes and wind skills are good at that
i heard that traveling to a different starting area on the passive tree will cost less points now
if thats so i may try a cheeky mage titan
is sorc looking to be any good in 0.3? seen lots of stuff about deadeye and monk but not much about sorc
what the hell is volatility
200 is insane
Deals damage to you when expiring
Anyone have a Very lazy build for a very lazy gamer
I play in a handheld (ROG AllyX) about half the time and the other times I’m either on my PC or Ps5. I don’t care to press a ton of buttons due to some medical issues.
I know skelly brute is going to be great start wasn’t sure what other ideas people have where I could just sprint through as things die. I played plenty of minions and totems both in Poe 1 and poe2. Played RF in poe1 as an idea of the build I like.
Any ideas I’m open to
is that even reasonable to maintain? 200?
You don’t maintain
But you can build it in like 2 sec
And then do big hit for bossing
pretty sure there is gonna be some insane thorns builds
does sacrifice use the corpse of the minion sacrificed?
waitttt so. i can only build it up for 4 seconds? and then lasts for 10 seconds, (which im assumming i cant get more volatiltiy during?), and i deal extra chaos damage.
what can abuse this? can SRS be a viable minion build withthese?
'The detonation timer will reset on gaining another stack of Volatility', so you can stack up to 200 if you want, it would just take 20 seconds to do so (+4 seconds for it to then detonate). I'm not sure if you're able to keep building Volatility while the buff is active, never used it myself.
ah i see, so only really for super high attack speed
don’t need much, can just spam ember fusillade if you have volatile power slotted
Need mana tempest as well of course so it’s empowered
and it says only on elemental ailment. im assuming thats for the 2nd node after it. which gives a freeze/ignite/shock every 2 seconds. can those be reapplied instantly or once shock/freeze/ignite is applied it can only apply after those ailments duration end?
honestly i kinda wanna do something with the spears not spells
ive seen something about it- ill have to loook into it
There is no cap
Its just that before this chonk node it was virtually impossible to tank more than that
Or there is. Im completely lost
Base cap is 200
can’t recall what effects there are that modifies the cap
But patch notes indicates there are some
There was one that set max cap to 30
ah
But i recall that there was a video where someone had more than 1k stacks or im just misremembering something
Volatility could work for hollow palm monk but idk how to mitigate the explosion
And you only get the bonus % dmg after the explosion, so maybe it's not that good after all
well the Acolyte takes no damage from it
Wait, how does that work?
You lit dont take the dmg if you take the node
It's an ascendancy node then?
yer
Cool, ty
That's from the new update, right? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm on my phone and it's hard to cross check this. Maxroll doesn't seem to have the updated ascendancy info
ye for 0.3
Hey guys i came here wondering what you think about a Stormweaver that focouses on more elemental infusions ?
Hiii! Did anyone who read the update information see if we'd get to play the game on higher than medium graphics? Which the settings were locked when I last played
that sounds like thats just on ur end then?
were you able to play on max?
my sister bought me a new compooter this summer for graduation and its very strong because she spent thousands and my old compooter i played poe with was from elementary school time in 2013
Anyone know if the +25% ring stats from Ritualist's ascendancy affects the 'Grants 1 Additional Skill slot'(Unset Ring) ?
Edit: For anyone wondering it does not work ;(
yeah I've never seen the settings locked
I run everything on high/ultra just fine
could be an issue with your PC though
wrong channel for that question btw
is there no "buffs" in this game for just having charges like in poe1, like passive life regen etc
only see like 2 skills that have any interacting with charges and unless im missing somthing theres nothing on passive tree
no inherent buffs
but i remember seeing crit multi per power on tthe tree
and some uniques like darkray vector gives bonuses as well
and there's a lot more than 2 skills that interact wth charges
well for mace warrior
shouldve specified
theres a heal per endurance consumed but cant imagine how good it really is since theres no way to automate crys
how will blackflame covenant 100% fire to chaos work with damage scaling in poe 2? Does %increased fire damage from tree or weapon effect the final chaos damage?
The more I look at chayula monk the worse it looks
what makes you say that?
Conversion happens before scaling, you want chaos modifiers using the Blackflame Covenant keystone, not fire.
anyone else looking at spear + shield Pathfinders?
New evasion ele reduction node, block, deflect, evade seems like a solid set of layers. Grab ignite immunity then grab shock immunity from tree
Question is what to do for damage, leaning toward bleed spear with bleed concoction and taking slow immunity but idk. I've never tried poison spear but could go poison
did they say if deflection happens before or after armor? was thinking of stacking AR/EV and taking the new glancing blows
I assume after since they tend to use the worst stacking version on purpose
anyone cooking a spark deadeye build?
I want to make my own spell build for my character. How should I begin?
Choose what spell
Or spells
Then figure out how you're gonna scale damage and defense (your ascendancy should usually solve one or both of those)
Well... Idk where to find spell choices. But I want to be a sorceress or a demon witch
My favourite spell I played some times in the old game was exsanguinate
exsang isn’t (properly) in the game yet, but reap will be (kinda)
it’s now a cull/crit debuff spell innate to a staff
but there’s other phys spells like bonestorm, bone cage and DD. hopefully bone blast will be more than a mid wand attack now
multi/trinity elemental spells are now viable and encouraged
lich chaos didn’t seem to change much this patch
hey all, is it possible to apply negative lightning resistance to enemies ?
yes
curses, exposure etc can bring resistance negative
can it be done without Leopold Gloves
yes
also leopold gloves is not negative resistance
The gloves affect elemental penetration
which works differently
-resistance actually reduces the resistance the enemy has by the given amount, whereas penetration simply treats the resistance as lower than it is
penetration by default can't penetrate below 0 (except for Leopold gloves) and only works for hits
They can be combined to achieve lower enemy effective resistance than either alone. For example if an enemy has 75% resistance, and you use a curse to lower it down to 35%, and then have 25% penetration, the hits against that enemy will be treated as though they have 10% resistance
has anyone cooked an infusion build idea?
I'm not a poe2 scientist but I don't see how that ascendancy gets its damage for hollow palm. Volatility would work but you only get the bonus damage when they explode. Right? So then you don't have high uptime on it during combat
depends a lot on your elem ailment procs since that’ll be the more consistent source vs on kill. can manually detonate some of them with the support gem, if used fast enough (maybe with cold strike or lightning flurry) can det all faster than 4s + don’t need to stop gaining volatility to det
now depends if chilling already chilled enemies counts as an ailment proc
gas arrow deadeye is truly one button, clears maps very fast, can be tanky too, destroys bosses
Are you able to swap the type of acendency you chose at anytime
Like say demon witch to bloodmage and so forth
Will the aura from Strategic Embankments stacks with the number of totem you summon ?
more spammy but i could see yousing mouse wheel scroll as an alternative to clicking althought he new legue is less focused around 1 skillbuilds wich we have now not to say there wont be any but they might not be meta anymore but i definitley recomend the game as a whole is amazing
I know it was nerfed but can you still do the grenades only build? as far as I can tell either gemling with the levels and quality to make up for the CDR on grenades OR deadeye for the +1 grenades per shot with the buffed EV ele reduction and +6 passive points does not seem bad either.
sticking gas or oil grenade in the new mortar ballista seems pretty good
how was it nerfed?
and yes you absolutely can, theyre stronger than ever before
Thoughts on if Reap will be viable enough to make a main spell? Thought about pursuing a Blood Mage Reap bleed build.
you mean one spell in the combo?
Well yeah, but I think it could be set up to be fairly spammable for general clear.
Different source of gain x% as extra damage as are calculated additively right? So if I have gain 100% as extra chaos from volatility, using extraction support which gives gain 35% of chaos damage, in total it will gives gain 135% as extra chaos, totaling 235% damage aka only 17.5% increase in damage with extraction support
They go in the same "part" of the equation
I would assume that you can get different auras from different totems, but stacking the same totem won't stack that totem's aura
Pretty new player here again. I watched through the whole dev livestream and am really excited for a ton of these changes. I want to find a leveling build for monk to progress through the upcoming league with but I don’t know what will hold up with all these massive changes. I figure after a few days though there will be updated guides out and such that I can use
Reliable guides probably a few hours before launch... until then people won't have full information of what's coming
The Ravenous Doubts Notable Passive Skill has been renamed to Inner Turmoil, and no longer grants Mana Leech Recovers based on other Damage Types as well as Physical Damage. Instead, it now grants Gain 1 Volatility on inflicting an Elemental Ailment, and Take no Damage from Volatility.
Is this good? 1 volatility isn't very much, is there a way to stack this quickly?
good for clear but not sure how to stack on bosses?
the question is if proccing an already affected target (ex: ignite on an already ignited mob) will still count towards volatility gain
considering they said they shifted the levels of innate skills by +3 (so new lv1 gets the stats of old lv4), it could make the damage of innate skills more viable than before
Dialla's Desire: +10% to Quality of Supported Skills
New passive tree node that gives + 5% to quality of all skills
How close are we to getting perma flicker strike build?
how much refund chance does it have already? wiki doesn’t have quality
Without knowing which skills give infusion. Is kinda hard
Up to 20% for 20% quality.
23% if corrupted + 15% from dialla’s and notable
possible charge gain with voll’s or redflare conduit
still a bit far, but still progress lol
we know
I remember when I originally tried Flicker in 0.1 I got it to 70% chance to not consume charge on gemling. With new lineage and and passive tree node we should be getting close unless they've changed how Flicker works.
snapping the 3 elemental orbs guarantees one of each
Based on patch notes is storm weaver back?
we don't know how much does the infusion give dmg, but people at gamescom were playing the boss event and most of top 20 were stormweavers, probably dmg was good
I hope its good every build i tried this season sucked ass and took to long to do anything I just gave up
I want firestorm to be good
lowering the aoe might make it good
before it was just too big
it was more like passive support damage
over a large area
yeh me too, i can see tons of interesting builds
whether they translate into the game is the question
what would you do ?
so there is no way to get a fire infusion without entering combat...
at least not taken into account the unknown passive skill tree changes
is tehre any way in 0.2 to test if a hit im doing is counting as a hit from "you"?
is there any death knight type of build?
if you want 2h sword, then no
generally any self-cast skills count as from you. proxies (totems) and minions don’t count
yeah. im just curious if lightning rod does. i think it does
just someone with heavy armor and minions really
you can play skele reavers, they are with 2h swords
Hello, coming as a beginner for 0.3, would spark blood mage be easy to play and get into the game with?
wouldn't say it's good
Oh, as in the build is not good or its not good for beginner?
both, lol
hmm nothing about blood mage really helps or hinders spark. pretty much just the gore spike branch
better off with stormweaver which is a sorc ascendancy
I dont even know what spark or blood mage is, to be honest 🥲
Just a friend told me to try that.
yeah, it's stormweaver mana stacking archmage
So i should seek for stormveawer sorc builds?
watch some youtube vids about different skills
sorc gets an easier time with elementals, witch goes with chaos and some phys spells
I would say the most noob friendly build is essence drain/ contagion lich
that I would advise to play
Noted all the things you both said, will be googling and watching 🙂
2 button build, relatively simple gearing
and it's getting buffed, which is wild to me
Sounds great for my case 😂
How is the dmg % of a skill calculated against all the increases from passive tree?
Lets say a skill at lvl 20 is calculated as 300% of your base damage. If I have 100 base dmg from my weapon, this would make it deal 300 dmg.
But now how do all the increase %'s that apply to that dmg type affect that 300 dmg? Say I have a total of +500% increased dmg that apply from the passive tree...
Would I be doing 300%+500% dmg for a total of 800 dmg, or would it be 300% x 500% for a total of 1500 dmg?
This is before all More/Less multipliers from support gems is applied which I know is multiplicative. I'm just unsure about this skill % dmg interaction with passive tree additive % dmg.
https://maxroll.gg/poe2/getting-started/damage-scaling just read this
I don't see where that says anything about how skill dmg % is calculated. I talks about base dmg, added dmg, increased % (from stuff like passive tree), and then more multipliers. No callout related to how skill % from the level of skill is part of the calc
unless I'm missing it somewhere
that is, 'base damage'
300% base damage = 3x damage
that's it, it's pretty simple
so with 500% inc. damage on a base of 100 damage, you get 600 damage, x3 = 1800 damage
ok, so skill % dmg is multiplicitve with the weapons base dmg, then that is multiplied against all sources of increased dmg from passive tree and the like, and then that all is multiplied by more's from support gems?
it's just multiplicative with everything else
you dont have to list everything
whatever your damage would be otherwise, it's just tripled (with 300% base damage)
Unless you play in Standard with infinite, unnerfed mana gear, bloodmage is the dominant spark build by far. 2344 players, 75% of them play Bloodmage 🤷♂️
essence drain and contagion on a Lich is a lot of fun, highly recommend it as well!
I played it a couple times, one of them I even changed from lich to Bloodmage and started using spark at level 84, probably not a noob-friendly idea to swap builds later but the option exists 🙂
Modsssss
I watched some stuff on YT and it looks awesomee! Hope it does okay at higher levels too so I dont have to switch haha
Both perform at high levels! you'll be clearing pinnacle bosses in no time
Anyone planning on making a FULL bonestorm build? I'm thinking about classes. I don't feel like playing witch since I hate that character, but deadeye maybe.. or a merc spec?

you have to play lich to enjoy bonestorm
I tried it last season on stormweaver, it was ass, no damage
I would prefer to avoid bonecage clearing.
yeah, you aren't going to enjoy this build
I have enjoyed it immensely on my chonk. But the changes nerfs my old chaos damage instance stacking.
Thank youu, looking forward to trying it out in a week 😎
Okay so you need a bossing skill and a clearing skill, right?
Unearth just doesn't work as a clear skill. So what will you use instead? There isn't really an option. You're spending all your passive points on phys and crit, so anything but phys dmg for spells you cast goes poof
Might as well go crown of eyes chalupa at that point, that way you'll actually have a clear ability, but I'd say it's pretty unclear how much that build would benefit from the inclusion of bonestorm since it doesn't really want for boss damage
I want to avoid the witch. I hate the character and can't stand the voice and quips.
On a crossbow skill (eg. permafrost bolts), when it says 62% attack damage, is that 62% attack damage for all 10 fragments combined, or assuming you shotgun everything into the same target, 0.62 * attack-damage * 10? I assume the latter because the former would do almost no damage, but just want to confirm it.
Also trying to figure out a fast way to extract impales. I'm curious if the new ravenous swarm can do it.
if you get a beast companion with haste aura, does the attackspeed and movespeed you get from that aura scale with the companion skillgem?
Negative
The damage listed is per fragment
i’m thinking of playing CHONK, if i convert all my lightning damage to chaos with original sin, do skills still apply shock as long as they have an increased chance to shock line?
okay that’s what i thought, thank you
does the attackspeed and movespeed from the aura scale with the level of the captured companion? i.e. does the aura from a lvl 10 companion give the same amount as a lvl 90 companion?
The aura will never change
There is no hasted tier 1, or haste aura tier 3, etc.
Aura is aura
you don’t want witch calling you beautiful 24/7? 😢
too hard playing with only 1 hand
same answer as Droid. monster mods don’t have any levels. Any mod you see at lv10 does the same thing at lv80
any news on PoB2 .3? im smart but not read off notes make build smart. nor smart enough to know where to find this info.
cool.
need mortar canon info
Hello. We have the patch note for the next season.
What do you think about Lightning Spear ? Can it still be playable ?
Smart answer is "we don't know" but likely answer is yes
I think you need to define what you think is "still playable"
Clearing nearly all content.
Including tower bosses and so
Because i'm a duelist sword enjoyer and beside Lightning Spear , i don't like any other gameplay in PoE 2 🙁
LS, tangle and amazon all got nerfed. But I dont think it is dead. But cant answer the question how good it for pinical content is (+ the removal of the 1-shot mechanic if you played Deadeye)
try something else, i guarantee theres something you will like
dont lock yourself into 1 stupidly overpowered build
i wouldnt say youve even played half of poe2 if all youve done is LS
ls is fine
I didn't play it because it's broken. I'm a frost blade/lightning strike player since forever ^^"
I'm playing since the release of the early access. I've already tested Monk 2 times and Amazon 1 time.
got nerfed but it was stupid broken to start so toning it down was needed
i have 10 characters in endgame and will have 10 more by the end of 0.3
live a little
i cant imagine playing just 1 or 2 archetypes in poe2
If I were to use a fire penetration support gem (Ability 1), fire exposure ability (oil gernades), fire exposure gem (Ability 1), and a curse, all of these would stack?
even though i like slams the most, im gonna do ice ranger, minions, merc, hollow palm etc
iirc only the strongest exposure applies
I'm thinking the lifting of support restriction could do it anyway
read the in game tooltip for exposure, im sure it explains it
I'm only playing a short number of archetypes. I like a type of gameplay, it feel confortable and I can focus on the new content of the seasons.
I was expecting Druid Shapeshifter (on melee) but was a wrong guess
poe2db.tw/us/cnGems#SupportGems
So whats the general consensus that this list of support gems will be accurate for 0.3? is poe2db often correct about this sort of stuff?
evidently, it's grabbed from some chinese source
so unless chinese and world versions are different, it's accurate (for what is shown)
only problem can be translation error/ambiguity
mmm, I noticed the volatility gems were called 'impermanence' but otherwise existing gems looked identical
My guess is, that there will be a Bow build that feels similar to LS but will scale a lot better into the endgame.
Perhaps, i'll still continue with spear i think. In worst case, my league will be short
You could start Deadeye Spear and then switch to bows, if it turns out that Spear does not work.
I don't like bow ^^" Ty anyway for the answer 🙂
Never played a witchhunter how do they look for the upcoming season?
Good, crossbow buff make them ok now and SW seems not necessary anymore with Deflect
#1323952474817560648 people are discussing it and we will be eager to help you over there
oh tyvm
im so excited for notables being more interesting in 0.3. ggg have been saying they want to make them more exciting for ages, and the notables jn the preview looked sick as fuck
the archon nodes, the azmeri animal shit, the amour break applied to fire damage
so cool
fuck the 30% inc dmg 5% reduced AS type nodes
dumb question regarding this support and how explosive shot is explained. If explosive shot converted 80% phys into fire damage, this support will not be good right? cause then it would only do the 20% phys?
yes
hey everyone, I'm rusty with poe2 but decided to come back for 0.3. I have an idea for a build and I want to see what people think of it, if it's worth ot not and ideas to build off of it. I was thinking of going stormweaver (for double shock/chill application on all hits) hollow palm technique (focusing on shock magnitude and crit). Is this viable as a decent/good option?
I would use this one instead right?
yep
aight ty
What are some easy builds to play on console? Gonna try playing on ps5 this new patch and want something that works well with controller and ideally SSF viable or just one or two key items to not have to try and trade all day
From how they worded vaulted impact changes will the bonus damage be increased/decreased based on the supports of the followup skill?
Or just be added after the hit with no multipliers
Looks like a % of damage dealt by the impact
Think impale but not actually called impale
How does impale interact
I assume does not care about modifiers on other skills right
nm....I thought shock was "more" damage, not increased....makes my idea not so great
Hey guys, I’m a noob player wanting to make my build for the first time. Chaos infused flame build that mark talked about in the interview is something I’m really interested in. Anyone knows best ascendency for this?
https://discord.com/channels/174993814845521922/1407910773782478999
found this. Keeping this here for others to find.
Chaluyla monk will be good, deadeye probably good, blood mage and sorceresses maybe
Amazon could work too
If u do chonk (c monk) don’t take the darkness node
Excuse me, I need directions to the Sorceress or Witch channel so I can see what those players are going to be doing so I can find inspiration to make my own build as a new player.
it's based on the ascendancies
so infernalist, bloodmage, stormweaver, chronomancer, lich, and 1 other one i cant remember
Bloodmage spark? Does anyone think it’s going to be better than running a storm weaver?
I can't see Invoker not being solid, just so versatile
Anyone tried single stack poison build? With Herald of Plague?
@wraith palm
Waddup
This guy wanted to know about herald of plague
I did an acolyte crit flickerstrike chaos stack with atsaks sight in 0.2, was really good. Higher damage ceiling now with the update to acolyte for 0.3
Does projectile speed, increase the speed at something like toxic growth? From shooting to landing?
it does on siege cascade and they are both rain skills so i would assume yes
ty
Is blood mage hp/crit stacking looking better or worse in the upcoming league compared to last league?
numerically 20% less crit dmg bonus from the life stacking but you get 2 free points + the crit chance node is first now which is good because its better early game than crit dmg
the 2 points is massive
I was thinking about starting with sorc and elemental equilibrium, but it's so far away, did they mention potentially moving it at all? with it being reworked to interact with infusions, it seems like it would be better for it to be closer to sorc
there's a projectile damage stacking Gemling I did last patch that could pick it up
I did Ember Fusillade + Fireball for that one
but I might switch to Ember Fusillade + Arc
in which case I just need lightning infusions so no need for EE
Are we going to have more information before leage start? Like what level mortar cannon is or what the skill tree looks like? Or do we just have to figure everything out at launch?
yes, usually
GGG: "we want players to figure that kind of thing out on their own"
Okkkk chat, I want to make my own build but I dont have any spells chosen yet but I know which character's' I might pick. I'd like a link or check-list to help guide along.
I.e.
Step 1: Choose character
step 2: pick spell's'
step 3: supports to enable said spell's'
step 4: defenses (but i'll get lost here because idk how much I need of anything besides 75 resistance)
step 5: instructions not clear, washed up on wraeclast
hey, i was just theorizing about a Deadeye Bleed Build, anyone know of specific item mods or uniques I should use?
https://maxroll.gg/poe2/pob/xxi850gm
Hiii stupid question but I was told in path of exile 1 that damage over time which means bleeding too I think that dots cannot crit. I think that’s true in this game too but I’m not sure. But why do you have 100% and crit multi?
oh well, its complicated
forget the crit multi, prob not good on new patch
the 100 crit is granted by snipe itself
but dont count on it anymore
you can use crit for dots from hits in 2
correct
bleed scales its damage off of the pre-mitigation physical hit that inflicts the respective bleed
so it will go through, increased, then more, then multipliers (like armour break more on that later, but more importantly crit multi) and just before armour
problem is that IMO crit is hard to scale and im hoping that the utility from Called Shots is better than the crit scaling from Amazon
if it turns out crit is just better, I could simply just stop using frenzy charges, and go full in to crit, there are nodes for crit chance on bleeding enemies after all
I imagine it most likely wont, because part of the snipe change grants it better damage on heavy stunned enemies, which ill achieve by marking them with bloodhounds mark and armour break thanks to rain of arrows.
now that i think of it, rain of arrows probably need haemocrystals support to stop it consuming the incision stacks
Blackbraid buffed even more, holy
you could also use malady support
it basically swaps poison and bleed chance so it wont cause bleeding
I'm thinking about this
Cold Deadeye with Ice Shot is main clearing skill + Herald of Ice.
with single target I will use Freezing Salvo (It just got buffed recently with quality more freeze buildup) and then Snipe + Mirage archer with Snipe skill .
So I will try to freeze the boss as soon as I can, then Snipe it because Snipe deal more damage with Frozen enemy.
I don't know how it work with mirage archer with snipe, like me and my mirage will dual snipe ? hope it works
Do you guys have any idea or tips with this ? thanks
use ice-tipped arrows
the rest of it is generation of charges and management of your ailments & gear
i wonder how easy it'll be to stack elemental armor and if it can go past 100%
With Toxic Growth being barrageable will they remove the limit on pods?
you need some kinda synergy between skills, passives, items or ascendancy
then you know it could be a new build
Are they not that bad? they sound really bad but I might be overlooking something?
yes they are pretty bad
passive block nerf, giant's blood especially feels unnecessary
incentivising 1H maces by punishing giant + 2H Shield
Passive Block now also works on most Hits, and Giant's Blood was practically the default, so of course it would be tuned down in some way.
yeah but like - 55-60% EHP? with those two nerfs combined
I dont even remember what kind of "unblockable" attacks was even dangerous ontop of my head. Small instances of damage in quick succession that resulted in stun threshold breaking was mostly what ended up getting you killed. Now with worse hp and worse block and thus worse stun threshold. This is just going to be way more common?
they should have added 2k life to the mace builds instead of taking away 400 life or whatever with giants blood
Next season chaos innoculation will set your life to 0 and just insta gib you in hideout 😭
did you guys like the patch notes update? flicker guys are crying
We have so much to see still, both in 0.3, 0.4, etc
slams and explosions from non-bosses like the ones with stone wheels come to mind
i think people are overreacting about the block changes, which we objectively cant classify as a buff or nerf because we dont know what % of all hits a player takes most often were blockable before
the change that is a mystery to me is giants blood life nerf
it was popular and that was indeed evidence that something needed to change, but i feel like that something shouldve been bringing 1h+shield up not 2h+shield down
you absolutely cannot function in maps as melee without very strong regen or a good avoidance layer like ev/block
im excited for the new warrior notables but im not high enough on copium to think that theres going to be % life on any of them
I mean we know alot of stuff was blockable since you could tank alot of monsters with 75% block but if you got stunned you died in 0.2 seconds.
just capped block was never enoigh to tank a bunch of monsters was it?
my smith used block + a little armor + very high regen + life on block + leech
and im ngl i did not feel very tanky
not because i was getting one shot but warrior abilities innately make you very vulnerable to damage
whereas a deadeye might be squishier but you can just off screen clear a pack without ever even getting aggroed
this is also why i think evasion might have been the weakest defense numerically, but evasion characters have a much easier time just staying out of range of most attacks so evasion didnt feel as bad
the issue might be that 2H Shield is objectively better than 1H Shield because of damage. Maybe a less atk speed would be better? There's not a lot of things to nerf about giant's blood without going against the "fantasy" of a character having giant's blood
so we all knew that ember fussilade is the best method to stack volatility on chalupa what if we make ember fussilade the main skill for the class with the help of blackflame conversion wouldnt it be synergize so well u still ignite enemies so still stackin volatility and all damage dealt will be chaos wouldn't this make a true chaos DPS in the game?
blackflame acolyte build
I just feel like its a big meme being a big hulking guy with a massive shield and armour. Being extremly stupid slow. While also being so freaking squishy
Grenade cannons should each have their own individual cooldowns on using grenades right?
honestly I'd change it to incentivise dual wield 2H instead of 2H shield
I'd assume it's a ballista totem for nades, so yeah they'd have their own cooldown
they also said it has improved cooldowns on the cannon
Btw was there any other armour buffs beside the new affix on gear?
What makes stronger poison dmg.
Going all into dmg nodes on a singular poison with Low tolerance.
Or going into all into multiple poisons like 5 total (non-pathfinder)
And does crit have any impact? Since poison is affected by the initial hit?
different builds, I prefer singlular stack poison builds and just focus on scaling the initial hit as high as possible (yes Crit works for this purpose)
Ahhh I see. So crit focused singular poison might would likely be stronger than going into 5 poisons u think?
As non-pathfinder atleast
not necessarily, it’d be a completely different build
There’s merit in increasing amount of poison stacks as well
But no point going above a stack number that you/your build can’t feasibly achieve
ok so
last patch i just used melee due to mana constraints and it was pretty much, stun bosses in 2 sec then 10 more sec to kill
but next patch weapons gonna have less str/stats req so i have more leeway
any ideas how to actually use/what skills to use that are not melee with that as amazon?
clearing was with leap slam *
I essentially want to use spear skills. (Not elemental ones tho) mostly normal attacks, maybe rapid assault, spear throw and spearfield sorta stuff
I was thinking of trying the Spire of Ire spear since it's all about chaos damage. And looks pretty neat.
I’d probably go for stacks then tbh, could try both approaches
Hmm. Is it worth to use crit on a spear thars only 5% tho?
much less so, if you really want to you could always go northpaw unique gloves, sets all attack crits to baseline 7%
what ascendancy are you thinking
Well the ones that interest me most are Lich, Acolyte and Ritualist
Mostly leaning towards acolyte tho.
That sounds cool
alright alright, Deadeye gets easy critical weakness now, that’s effectively +10% base crit
if you really want to crit
Ehhhh deadeyeeee
Oh yeah. Is there any way to get poison pops? Ik bleed has herald of blood or something that makes explosions for quicker clearing
Bursting plague support gem ig
what build will be op and have an easy time on launch?
what if lightning spear + hollow palm = zeus?
New patch notes when
When did the community will know the best builds?
And when the new filters will be avaliable?
If I got the 0.2 of NeverSink it will update automatically?
But I have to add a new filter or the 0.2 will update?
if youre subscribed to the filter through your account it will update
when he updates it
if you just downloaded the filter files manually they wont
I intend to take the bait
i hope blood witch isnt too nerfed just got on to try the lightning spear stuff, super fun
is flickerstrike now still a thing to build around?
or even usable at all?
perhaps i need a secondary skill, or rather primary, which i use for dps and charging and flickerstrike whenever its charged?
(stormwave into flickerstrike, or maybe tempest flurry into flickerstrike? as i get attackspeed from unarmed?)
Well there won’t be much bait because 75% of the league knows better and will just slam lightning at start
I’m so salty about toxic growth. Jonathan made it sound like we were getting toxic rain but it’s not even close
OK so im testing minions, and in A1 i feel like i basically am dooing 99% of the damage myself and they are kinda irrelevant? Does that change?
melee minions and specters are getting buffs on friday
problem with melee minions currently is that they need accuracy to hit stuff, so they miss a bunch
ok, but from a leveling experience - am i always going to be supplementing them with self casting spell damage?
cant answer that, havent done a minion build yet
cause right now im thinking - sure i can summon skeletal minions, but why would i when i do far more damage with chaos spells
kinda forcing it for no reason
just checking the new max block chance node on the warbringer just changes the maximum right? you still have to get 75% chance from gear and passives?
yes
cos they are lowering the default max chance cos there is a lot more stuff thats blockable
I havent played a warrior in poe2 yet, are there any investable sources of flat block chance you can get, if you take the warbringer nodes, you get 35%, then you still need another 37% increased block just to get 50% block chance, at that point travelling for the whole 115% increased block seems not worth it for 75 block that you take 30% of the blocked hits for
i havent played one either, so dunno the finer details
I'm thinking of trying a stormweaver hollow palm technique for that double shock/chill (applied on all hits). Any idea how well it'd work?
I haven't played poe2 since initial 0.2 release and even then only up to level 40 something.
What is something I could more or less safely start with in 0.3?
I've seen a Mjölner EQ Build in 0.2, is this still doable?
Or any EQ at all if it is starting viable
So if my Ignite does 500% of the mob's HP, will this give me a ton more energy? or does it only scale down?
Next patch I could have my ignites doing 200-300% of enemies HP bars by early maps
Yo guys I have a build in mind but I'm not sure if it'd be possible, I'm thinking of trying to get the Mjölner work with Heat of The forge Kitava's ascendency node and
Crown of Eyes unique to get fire and lightning spells proc on melee hits while going for spell damage/energy passives, would this be possible? any thoughts?
or it'll be complete shit? xd
Does Amazon Lightning spear still look viable in 0.3.0? The crit chance Tangletongue gives got heavily nerfed, from a previous max of 20% to a 8% max.
Can Amazon compensate enough for this though?
Damage also nerfed i believe, and also methods to get frenzy charge passively
Oh I didnt see the damage nerfs in the patch notes
I saw somewhere that Deadeye Lightning spear builds are dead
So wondering if Amazon lightning spear would be a viable league starter, not too OP anymore, but like not ass, at least a decent build?
Yeah I wouldn't say it's dead, can still be decent
I wonder if a blood mage with Rake and Reap (the skill given by one of the new staff) would be viable, or if the combination of needing dex for Rake, and Str/Int for Reap, would be too difficult. The idea of having both a staff and spear to try out the instant weapon swap in 0.3.0 is somewhat tempting
It is not difficult to set up at all. This is pretty much a half of bloodmages in 0.2
It will be easier to make
Still fairly new but like to make my own builds, but don't always end up knowing what is feasible. I might give it a try then 😄
Is it a typo in the patchnotes or did Galvanic shards really get changed to a one pump chump???
Like it says it only has 1 shot in the clip
1 bolt instead of the previous 5
Huge buffs otherwise to it, but now you have to reload after every shot?
Doesn't look like a typo to me.
You no longer slow down while reloading, and the reload of galvanic shards is lower, so it's not exactly the same as reloading it before. With Double Barrel and quality (if it remained the same), you could also get another 3 shots. And we don't know passive skill tree changes, so hard to say how hard/easy it might be to get extra magazine size there. There's also a lineage support that auto-reloads when you dodge, that could also help.
It clearly does not look like a typo.
I guess yeah but still feels like such a weird change... Dunno if I wanna play Galcanic shards anymore
I mean like if they forgot to add a zero at the end, 10ammo instead of 1
That's funny.
Why do you think they increase damage then?
And a number of fragments
To buff the skill
titans blood double xbow galv shards
Huh? Why?
With shock lasting much longer now, way more viable to load galv shards, blast some mobs back and apply shock, then load in some different bolts.
I kinda like it
Ehh makes gameplay slower, clunkier feeling
Galvanic shards is the best skill for crossbows in 0.2. It doesn't need a buff.
Don't really like that "priming" style
To each their own 😄
its kinda like swapping guns in a shooter
using the slag pistol in borderlands 2 etc
Wonder when maxroll etc. Will start having new 0.3.0 league starter builds
friday
Yeah, fuck that mechanic lol
On launch day lol?
This one might be able to sustain galvanic decently with double barrel
during clear
Embrace the lack of available starter builds and just go YOLO 😄
If you bomb out, yell at Jonathan that build floor is still not high enough, since he said on interviews he wants you to be able to fumble your way through
I'm trying to create an ES/Armour hybrid with scaling spell damage to attack damage to synergize Mjölner being a mace with the spells it triggers. I plan to go left side for the hybrid ES armour passives and the spell/attack hybrid nodes.
I'm still deciding between Titan, Smith of Kitava (to add the fire spell proc on attack) or Bloodmage, as all 3 seem to have good synergy with this idea. which one would you think works best with this concept, and what other uniques/nodes could I add to make this better?
Also, would this idea work, or am I better with another weapon than mjolner? I really want to make use of the Crown of eyes in my next build, looks really fun
Think the frost deadeye is going to be decent? with the change to freezing salvo and the ice shards etc?
Oh... Why have they not released it with all the other patch notes?
Remove the cost for respec and it would probably be fine?
They’re still working on it for sure
I was messing around with respec earlier and the first 40 levels or so you can fully respec for like 8k-10k gold which is like 20-30 items sold to merchants
It’s really fine now
I fully refunded my whole tree in the end of act 2
Free respec for the first weekend would be sick though
Does the notable "Event horizon" which makes you lose 3% HP on casting a spell, kill you if you have Chaos innoculation?
from what i know about poe, it shouldn't
cos 3% of 1 is 0.03 and that rounds to 0
since life is calculated without decimals
but i have not tested it, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I guess i'll find out if i do a chaos build xD
or not, just realized it will stop ES recharge
Goodday lads,
I'm planning ahead for 0.3 and i had a blast playing Lightningspear Amazon (tangletong+chickenleg). Does any of you know whether thats still viable and whats the best way to level towards this?
sacred flame still very strong for spears
amazon and tangletongue still strong
for leveling with spears I guess storm lance explosive spear, they are great
I see ok! Also, i was wondering is theres a website which, for instance, details at what level what new weapon tiers will b available. For instance, next upgade for me weapon is at 78.. ssame with some other items, is there somewhere i can fetch this knowledge?
just check the trading website
can anybody explain this thing to me?
I read the patch notes as well but I quite don't understand
is it an active skill? a persistent buff?
Hey there! You think on only dodge Chayula monk is possible with new asc ?
hard to say without seeing scaling on the new dodge node
It is an active skill, essentially equivalent to Command skills on regular Minions. You press it and it calls down volleys of arrows onto the targeted location, dealing Minion damage.
but doubt
gonna be clunky. it's a 5 second cooldown between void balls.
best herald of blood bursting plague build?
for pob, where can you see minion accuracy, i might be blind
why do you want to know
i wanna see how accurate the minions are?
if they have bad accuarcy i might wanna to change some nodes
they will just hit 100% of the time
so youll be getting better accuracy for all of 4 days
yes sir, thats the idea
best build 0.3? LA Deadeye?
is there a poison build that proliferates simialr to herald of ice ? im not well versed
screen clear etc
Exsanguinate for blood loss + pin,
Herald of blood + Bone Shrapnel for pops.
Shrapnel and pin support can be swapped not sure which will work better
Thoughts?
Warrior going to be good to start new league with?
there is no crossbow that fires additional bolts
I really need a third 'herald like' in there to chain screen+ but not finding anything
Me and my friend just bought the game and want to run through the campaign get to endgame before leauge start just to practice what builds do u guys recommend for us to go?
could go one melee one ranged
Lightning Arrow Deadeye is a good choice
Ooo lightning arrow seems fun u got a build guide we could follow?
We want to run the same build cuz hes new to poe and dosent know whats happening and ive played a bunch of poe 1
hmm then yeah LA deadeye seems best. there's also monk and huntress
Very beginner question. If I do a typical frost type monk build to get me through the early league until we have build guides coming out with all the new changes, what would be the ideal time to respec? After Act 2? Act 3?
maybe act 3 town
Best bow skill for herald of blood bursting plague bleed/poison ? I know nothing .
are you using both herald of blood and plague?
herald of plague?no the interaction i saw was herald of blood with bursting plague support -> enemy dies while bleeding triggers bursting plague which is a hit that can poison and bleed -> it aoes and bleeds/poison surrounding enemies -> loop ensues.
but that's all i know
What spells have the best synergy with chonk's volatility? Can generate a lot reliably but unsure what to use it with. Flameblast and the new keystone maybe?
flameblast, blazing salvo or firestorm
Can someone predict some S-tier builds in POE 0.3?
arc deadeye
Aight, is there already somethig available?
Idk about theory crafted guides, but nothing in 0.2 because arc is being given proj tag in 0.3
Dark Defiler with Detonate Dead with envenom, bursting plague and Contagion. 48 minions from unearth/raging spirits for 300% extra chaos damage.
It can chain react and one cast kills enemies 3 screens away if density is high enough, or one cast can kill an entire 30 second ritual (see video)
Cleared an entire T15 ritual with 1 cast of Detonate Dead. Also had Despair (Decaying hex, no impending doom) + Contagion to keep the chain going. Most of the damage done here is the Bursting Plague re-poisoning minions with a 50% chance per death.
Note: My Detonate dead was doing 1/4th the damage value it normally does, as I intentionally did...
What part of the new demon form scales with skill level? Just the life drain? Is it 3% more damage at all levels?
anyone here that's been looking/building a pconc 0.3 build? Would it be good in 0.3? I am thinking about trying to start with it
So far based on what we know, I think I decided on starting with a tactician using the new mortar totem. I shoot gas grenade, mortar shoots explosive grenade to blow up the gas. Take cannon's ready for a second mortar and embankment for added fire damage.
Then I'll take Polish that Gear for armor adding to deflect chance which I will try to get to 100%. Then Stay Light to defend with twice as much armor... That's 90% potential physical damage reduction, yeah? I'm not sure how it's calculated.
Should be really tanky with good clear. I'm not sure how it'll be with bosses though. Maybe throw in rapid shot to buff the grenades? Thoughts?
Ember fusillade
If this support is still in, I would go mana tempest and some fast spell, like Ember fussilade
yes, generating it is not going to be difficult
I was wondering what the best payoff is
I was thinking Poison, use some hard hitting skill to make sinlge mega poison and proliferate with Herald of Plague
Also I was leaning more towards attacks, but that's solely due to personal preference
Living bomb + herald of plague
seriously the best builds that can make use of it is going to be using the new Blackflame keystone to scale ignite with it
Is poe2 more forgiving than poe1 in casual/new players trying to play blindly not following a build guide? If so, why is that and how easy is it to fix a broken character in comparison?
It is as in general builds are less reliant on specific multi-unique interactions or gated behind things like timeless jewels and the game makes it easy to have multiple skills for multiple situations so you can tailor one skill to be a single target bossing skill and another to be a clear skill. Fixing a broken character requires gold, but as long as you are not trying to swap everything it is usually pretty manageable
its way more forgiving
That all being said, the further you try to push a build the more it starts to approach POE 1 in terms of optimizing the tiny details, but I would say it is much more forgiving and a lot less ocnfusing systems
bunch of builds are working just by taking stuff on the tree that looks like it works with your idea
which in comparison to poe1 is way more reasonable to new player
Ok my issue with poe1 is I have limited time to play and when I mess up I feel like I wasted my time. Playing a guide is like “cheating” but at least it gets you somewhere at some point. Are there mechanics in poe2 so that that “time wasting” can be reversed without starting over? Or is it just that it’s much harder to mess up the build?
Or both?
you can respec with gold quite reasonably, and sockets outside of gear make it way easier to experiment with different skills
I'm either going to play an ice archer, lightning archer or an arc blood mage or some type of sorceress
im going to try and build something online because looking on youtube netted nothing good or useless besides streamer clickbaits
slight problem, the website I was using only shows thing from 0.2 not the new one 💀
because we still dont have much information
like new passive tree or support gems arent all out
well you can run out of gold and then you can't respec your passives anymore, so you just gotta make sure you have a build that can still farm maps after your respec
We dont know, probably just the cast speed
If someone were to do a deadeye crit arc for next league.. would the passive tree be si.ilar to that of an LA?
The bow skill snipe says "channel to charge up your bow before releasing a powerful shot. Releasing the moment you fully charge causes the arrow to explode on impact for a guaranteed critical hit"... Does that mean that the hit itself is guaranteed crit or is it just the additional explosion is guaranteed to crit?
none
Will having same weapon shared between both weapon sets be something that's added in 0.3 or do we still have to wait
What do you mean?
there is no guaranteed crit on perfect timing it was removed on 0.3
Oh ok. Thanks
currently its the explosion that crits
Is there anything thats particularly good on the buff attack skills like Staggering Palm and Charged Staff, similar to Impale? Or is it just Impale
is there any place to see the changes in the passive tree for 0.3 or do we have to wait for the new season?
wait
thanks
Arc Pin Tactician with Bone Shrapnel Herald of Thunder?
Where can i see the before / after of the talent tree please
We don't have the new tree
sounds good
Yes we dont have it but i saw Fubgun showing the before / after with all the node . not the description tho
How do you know what nodes to take when going through the tree? I’m feeling a tad overwhelmed on what I should be focusing on. I don’t want to follow a guide I want to understand for myself, or is it a case of just try something and then change as you go
there's this frankenstein image if that helps
ah yes thats it thank you @frigid hill
Hiii, what are you guys opinion on an ice archer?
I love the archetype but you'll have to be more specific. I played an ice shot + snipe chronomancer in 0.1 and had a blast.
I'm considering an ice shot acolyte of chayula this time around, but not sure yet
Ice shot can work with basically every ascendancy imo
DeadEye probably very good
Idk, Im going to be the ranger ranger character and just pick the ice abilties as I level up
Tho it depends on how you define "work" I suppose. You just get different flavors of ice shot.
Oh, are you talking about the game now, or 0.3?
I assumed we were talking 0.3
0.3
I kinda wanna give ice shot stormweaver a go, but I'm not sure yet.
Pathfinder and Chronomancer have such good Qol that I find it hard to play anything else tbh
You want #1┃build-planning
This is poe2
I feel like my ice archer will be good but what scares me is that because idk this game so I wont know what legendary items to use or special gems 🥺
Well I have good news, there are no legendary items in poe2
The orange ones are called unique items and they're usually trash
Yellow (rare) items are all you should need
Two steps: you need to know what your defensive layers are, and you need to know what your damage scaling methods are.
It can feel like there's a dozen different ones of both, which is where picking and going all in on it provides you with direction. For example, if you choose Crit as your damage scale, then you need to find every crit node and grab it. However, if you aren't using crit, then avoid every crit node instead. Repeat that over and over until you pick only the top of the defense and offense scaling.
And early in the campaign, blue (magic) items will work
Yeah I like to start by coming up with a concept. A bare minimum list of 1+ things the build needs to do or else it's not your build.
For example, my chronomancer ice shot needed to:
- Time freeze bosses
- Put down tornados behind them
- Spend frenzy charges on barrage
- Charge a snipe perfectly and fire the barraged version into the boss, pierce it, hit the tornados, and have them ricochet back into the boss for insane oneshots
In order to do that, I needed crit damage and I ignored crit chance (snipe no longer auto crits, sadly, so that won't work anymore), accuracy, attack speed, etc. I used ice shot for clearing so having freeze nodes helped a lot with proccing Herald of ice.
If all you want is "generic ice Archer" then there are dozens of ways you could plan your tree and still hit that mark. The more specific you can get, the better. You can also start with a goal or piece of content you want the build to be able to do
Thanks I’ll try that
I was really hoping we'd have to take substantially fewer travel nodes
But only saw 1 fewer between my entire tree
"A small Attribute Passive Skill has been removed on all of the outward highways between class starting locations." I'm unsure where this is
When you attempt create more totem than your limited number of totem, does it kill the others totem like in poe1 ?
Do we have the list of all the new support gems ?
I saw a list but all the images were in chinese
At the very start of the tree, the fast routes out of the start are now faster
For deadeye arc build would you still use bow? Maybe like a widowhail with a +2 quiver or staff/wand, focus?
I wasn’t expecting such a detailed response so I went afk and drove to the store to do an Amazon return. People usually ignore me here 🤭
Anyone planning to start with deadeye but not LA ? If so what are u starting with ? I was thinking ice shot or should I transition into ice shot in end game ?
bow? Not a lot of advantages widowhail + quiver have for arc. Main reason for spark was that it gave proj speed while having an easy +5 minimum.
Even with arc being a projectile in 3.0?
Hello guys any way to mana leech in this game ?
the only reason I see to run widowhail + quiver for arc is a relatively easy +5 on the gem.
There's no other benefits to be had
main source is phys mana leech mod on rings.
This can be converted to ele mana leech via a new keystone in 0.3
as I said earlier, the main reason it worked for spark is because spark's damage scales indirectly with proj speed.
Arc and many other projectiles don't do that.
just like you don't see fireball users use widowhail + quiver just because it's a projectile
I hope i have a good time on bloodmage for 030
smith of kitava seems like it can hit 90% all res pretty readily by stacking fire res + unnatural resilience, plus 25% of phys taken as fire - add block and 50% reduced crit bonus and kitava should be tanky as hell no?
U would think, but no
3.5-4k hp unless u a whale, oneshotted pretty easily
I was thinking about it constantly but I don’t want my league start fucken obliterated so I’ll just start merc and try to play with armour evasion deflect shenanigans
Also smith got nerfed, im hoping theres somethings to help on the tree
Infernoclasp is also removed
Tyvm based on that I could either play monk chayula arc archmage either just take the keystone and play any asc ?
Also why they made arc projectile ? For the proj speed ?
Mana leech, at the moment, exists only for attacks as far as I'm aware. I think stormweaver might have exclusive rights to mana leech from spells, but I'm not sure
Oh shit
mods on rings are only for attacks ?
Rip dream MoM EB infinite mana archmage arc
I mean, just go chronomancer. Ez mana recovery
Spend it all, get back to full with temporal rift
Might be an idea thanks you ! Any other way ?
Mana regen, stormweaver leech node, uhhhh
Yeah that's all I got off the dome. I still have poe1 brain atm
same im lost
Mana flask
leech node on SW is new ?
No
I see recoup not leech
Okiii chat, putting my ice archer on pause for a moment because I found this build online. It's classified as an end-game build but it's an ice mage and I love that for me. Roughly speaking I dont expect to reach that point before 0.3 but how much does a build like this generally cost? https://www.poe-vault.com/poe2/witch/blood-mage/blood-mage-frostbolt-build?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=FuAH93pJimo
that all depends on when u start it
currently its the end of league so everything is expensive
lets say its early league maybe a a couple weeks in the league
Is there a really good tier list out there for the upcoming 0.3 patch? I know its early and speculative but I find tier lists somewhat interesting anyways 🙈. Especially if its made by a known , experienced person
that asian boy had one idr his name
I saw him sometimes in the old game so he knows some stuff. But he said the tier list could be totally wrong because we don't have any solid information with #'s yet
jungroan lol
I know in the Livestream they said the attribute costs are going down. Does that include support gems or just equipment?
read the patch notes
Does someone know if we can expect PoB update before the start or not? 🤔 It seems like in patch notes there wasnt enough information on the new nodes etc?
trying to make aweaponswap xbow/2h mace build..
idea is to use the xbow to proc shock/freeze and remove armor, then use sunder to consume all debuffs for a big bleed
is there a support gem to give damage and make a skill consume freeze?
biting frost?
tactican or warbringer mortar build?
With lineage supports isn’t their a chance that the skill you support with it is just going to be your main skill again like past leagues ? XD
I’m a bit worried that the combo playstyle they want us to do might be disrupted by a skill beeing overwhelmingly better cause of lineage supports
warbringer i think, but, what grenade? and take what, warcry + totems + armor shred and clear with armour explosion?
been thinking tactician totem of some elemental variety but i know nothing about totems in poe2 so might just wing it...kinda poking around pob though
I mean you will probably always have main skills, but the change mostly lets supporting skills still be relevant instead of massive drops in damage output
Gonna be doing a Blackflame Covenant Kitava Warrior, I'm ready. 😁
Sure, for the next 4 days 😄
True...
What do we think, does this allow unarmed attacks to benefit from quarterstaff passives to attack speed and crit?
What could be some fun unorthodox builds we might be able to go?
@cyan garnet I'm farely newbish, but I was thinking of trying a stormweaver hollow palm build....double shock and applying it on all hits sounds good. Only problem is that the build seems to want shock magnitude and crit. Taking into account the need for energy shields and evasion as well as damage increases, I'm wondering if you'd be able to get enough for what you need to make it work. It could be a total PoS, but I don't like copying builds, so at least it'd be my PoS
Will Hollow Palm apply to all armor, like gloves helm and boots?
is this a big nerf or am i misreading it
Would say probably assume quarterstaff passives don't have any affect. The notable just says attack as though using a quarterstaff, not count as having a quarterstaff
it wont work with quarterstaff passives
yeah that's what I'm guessing
Unless they add more unarmed clusters, that kinda sucks
This is the only one there right now
And the notable is one of those crappy tradeoff ones
still a great value node
it all depends on how base damage scales with skill level
So, I was doing the math on that too
Using my 0.1 monk as a reference. Midtier gear.
To equal that staff, I'd need 15.5 avg damage per skill level from hollow palm.
And even then, with the armor I had, I'd be -3% base crit.
ngl if that's so, i feel the base would be closer to 10 avg dmg per level
That would uhh, kind suck I think
That was a pretty middling staff
Bad crit roll, too
Tbf Hollow Palm is a lot faster than that
The attack speed would be the only thing it has going for it
From that setup (which didn't change much in 0.2 iirc)
So I'd lose 21% increased there, that's no big deal though
But I'd also lose 61% crit damage from some staff nodes
So 5.46x to 4.85
Based on my evasion in that setup, I'd get 54.64% more AS, which is more than what I have currently which is 32%
So overall 17% more
So, let's round that up to 20% more to account for additional unarmed speed nodes, I still don't see how that makes up for losing 3% base crit (from 14% to 11%), 61% crit damage (should be more with a good staff), and possibly a bunch of flat phys, over using a weapon.
idk man, what am I missing? I know I'm comparing middling gear here vs high investment, but it seems like high investment would favor just a regular weapon build still.
honestly it feels like bait node unless dmg will be unrealistically high
but that wont stop me from trying it on day 1

should be fairly easy to go back to qstaff if it will be unplayable tier
then why not believe its good unless its bad
and usually ggg tends to give those stuff low numbers so im just realistic
its not a warrior-adjacent mechanic, so its probably good

Is monk like, in a good state though?
general qs stuff is solid
falling thunder seemed quite strong with big power charges
Power charge gen seems harder though
damage is even crazier now
true, but new quality nodes made me excited for 100% uptime
do we know for certain that quarterstaff passive tree nodes won't work with hollow palm twchnique?
from wording i am 99% certain they wont
"can attack as though using a quarterstaff" might imply that you get quarterstaff passives, but, it's not concrete either way
id say it should mean you can use quarterstaff skills but your "weapon type" is still unarmed
lol
It's gonna be like "you need to be wielding a martial weapon to activate this skill"
The issue with Flicker is that the damage was already crazy good
it was the sustained attack and quality of life that lacked
and now theyre doubling down on that idea
El Classico
I'm going warbringer cause of Answered Call minions. I also don't like having to tie totem activations to when I fire, which is where Tactician seems to shine. I'm thinking my mortar spreads the armor breaking gas grenades, and I fire the explosive grenades. Only problem would be if they share a cd. Then I'm rolling deadeye.
Thinking of trying tactician for the first time. Is this a mistake?
Absolutely not. I'll just ping @hoary bolt here for some Tactician evangelism.
Hello it me
Tactician is stronger than ever, and it wasn't a bad choice even in 0.2
Tac has a fair bit of generic power, but especially power for ballista and crowd control builds
Its also the de facto support character ascendancy, but that's a bit more niche
I don't mind playing support role. I like to party up, even with strangers. More fun playing in a group I find
is there a build you can recommend?
Generally tactician support builds are built quite weak in most other areas, and can't really be played alone whatsoever
As far as more well rounded Tac builds go, I'm putting together a Permafrost Bolts + Incendiary shot build myself that ill be making videos on
we dont have the new tree from 0.3 yet, so the actual specifics of tree stuff is unfortunately out of our hands until poe2db datamines it from the preload the day before launch
i made a short reddit post on the concept if wish to have a read @frigid jasper https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile2builds/comments/1mx6r7e/permafrost_bolts_now_have_absolutely_disgusting/
awesome, thanks. I'll hit you up later for vid links. Very keen to follow what you're doing
I'd also hype this by saying Xbows were already my favorite weapon base type in 0.2, and they got nothing but QoL buffs in this patch.
It's a great start option that will be super solid, regardless of how the tree plays out + won't be as expensive as bow stuff at league start.
yeah, I've now got a thing for xbows. Still upset at myself for selling a +7 proj skill and +150% phys damage xbow for cheap as I'm stoopid.
I think you're misreading it,
Base damage is a lot higher, so the multiplicative damage increase in each stage starts off better and even though its 40% instead of 60%, its 40% of a much bigger number. I havent done the full maths on it atm, but im pretty sure it means you dont have to charge it to max stages for ti to be useful, but also itll do a lot more damage at each stage.
Also because youre dealing with bigger base numbers, support gems will do more to boost it as well.
old:
(1.56*(1+0.6*5))*5 = 3120% dmg eff
new:
(2.54*(1+0.4*4))*4 = 2642% damage eff.
overall difference:
1-2642/3120 = 15% less damage, but you need to channel for 1 less stage (20% less channelling time)
see fixed below
Legend.
(hopefully i got it right lol)
Yeah, is that with Quality giving the additional stage?
2.54 = starting damage.
1+0.4*4 = each stage multiplier?
)*4 = max number of stages?
Im trying to figure it out stage by stage, and not sure if I need to change both the stage multiplier *4 to *2 as well as the number of stages *4 to *2.
But either way, I dont think total damage was the issue with SS, more that it took so long to get anywhere with it, now 2 stages is still going to be pretty great.
I neeeeed the passive tree plzzzz cmon ggg
your formatting is messed up by markdown, put a backslash \ before every asterix
oh waitt im dumb
revised:
old:
(1.56*(1+0.6*5))*6 = 3744% dmg eff
new:
(2.54*(1+0.4*4))*5 = 3302% damage eff.
overall difference:
1-2642/3120 = 11% less damage, but you need to channel for 1 less stage
i forgot to factor in the initial hit
0.4 = 40% more damage per stage
4 = # of stages
4 = number of hits (this should be 6 and 5, not 5 and 4, as i originally forgot to include the initial hit along with the aftershocks)
Legend. Look team, I got us 4% more damage 😄
So (2.54*(1+0.4*2))*3
Would be correct for the inital hit plus first stage which is two? aftershocks,
and then we just increase the *2 and *3 for each stage?
Just trying to see how important it would be to fully charge it up.
I appreciate all the maths help though, absolute legend.
yeah, that looks about right
and you just add 1 to 2 and 3 per stage as you said
oh, and if we really want:
do LA deadeyes use a tri ele bow or phys?
phys
but maybe that could change in 0.3.0
cool. poe2 where everyone just stacks phys.
no but actually yes
Deadeye unarmed… seems good
3ele was a thing in poe1 because of trinity support, but trinity works differently in poe2
I mean, if you get flat lightning damage on the bow it's also pretty good
I think I read somewhere that trinity is being changed?
just that it will also work for ele spells, was only attacks
Is there any way to trigger aftershocks with non-mace skills?
