#2┃build-planning

because of the witch ascendancies maybe
is LS actually that popular? This is my first time playing since EA started
LS is the best build for every ascendancy it seems
interesting have they mentioned nerfing it or buffing other builds
okay your question, you don't choose between rake and lightning spear, one is a bossing skill, another is an AOE skill
you could do rake stomping ground but that's just stacking strength
and the area of effect is very small
oh i was going off builds i see online and they seemed to be use in different builds instead of together
so I would recommend lightning spear and then storm lance, primal strikes, explosive spear or spear throw for bossin
storm lance seems the best
Not sure where you're looking but use this site
Explore builds and passive tree heatmaps of Dawn of the Hunt.
i was bouncing between maxroll and mobalytics but yeah ill def check that out. i dont think they had poe ninja ready for poe 2 last i played
I don't like mobalytics
Simply cannot use those sites to look up data on builds
Those are for posting specific builds
rake is harder to build around ,need bleed magnitude and such
and you won't deal nearly as much damage as bloodmage
Just remember no matter what lightning spear setup you use, frenzy charges make a hell of a difference.
Combat frenzy for mobbing, Snipers mark for bossing
Is this a build? Notably 0.05 reload time on Freezing Salvo.
I have been thinking about a target of quality stacking since I saw the Fox Talisman (in combination with corrupted Morior Invictus for +10%).
It is possible to get 49% quality on gems as a Gemling.
Other notable options are Shockwave Totem and Artillery Ballista that gets flat reduced attack time with quality
Interesting to see it happen, would be nice to have it more dependable for single targets
Freezing salvo tech is to use multiple gems like tempest bell
Use one, use another, use a third, and then hopefully the first is charged up again
Shout-out betatestcoin
i slam exalt this and turned to this after i fractured this. So now my best bet is to whittle this and pray to get good roll instead of the cold damage shitty roll right?
i would not waste whittles on that
i guess gemling can do this with 2 different ones and same supports
why not? i did actually i hit t4 lightning first try
something like this in the market is like over 100div
rn
the market now is messed up, but just because things are overpriced, it doesnt make it a good bow
yea true
guys i was following tuna guide and in the guide he is using grace and hatred and summon skitterbots the 3 at the same time but when i try to do that i dont find the enough mana for them am i doing smth wrong ?
This is a PoE2 channel, the skills you're naming are from PoE1.
to get volcanic fissure of snaking, just run normal lab over and over? put any red skill (including already transfigured) and pray?
Yes but also this is the wrong game
ha, sorry, i see the 2 now 😄
hey guys
anyone can help me??
i have been following this guide and just got to maps. I have the same gear as the "lv27" tab, that a buddy gave to me before leaving the season. https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/ronarray-speed-leveling-build?weaponSet=set1&ws-ngf5-f7d82102-7e77-4a44-ad24-33b67e8ae7bf=activeVariantId%2C633b70e2-88c1-4769-8615-5ddad8defbd8
however, since act 2 cruel i have been dying a lot and getting 1 shotted by bosses, so I am going to transition to this guide from fubgun. So i need to unequip the amulet that guts my resistances and try to buy the gear from the "midgame" tab. Where should i start? which gear first? i tried finding these gears but trade doesnt have ones with the same mods. i have 13 divs.
i am lv64
Chest and amulet need to go first
Then I'd swap helmet
Then I'd swap belt and boots
You do not need every single item from a guide since you will never be able to copy someone's gear perfectly, it's better to understand what's actually needed and what's fluff.
In this case, all we want to do is find gear with Life and evasion/energy shield, and enough resistances and attributes to use the things we want.
This super simple search was 350 evasion, 200 es, 100 life, and level 64 cap
To further tune it, I would adjust price and I would check for resistances
"beacon of azis" is hella cheap so you definitely haven't checked that one on trade yet, prob just nab one of those along with a nice chest piece and you'll immediately feel stronger
Meginlords belt is not the worst since it gives an abnormal amount of strength, but definitely search for a rare belt that has 100+ life and some resistances. Again remember to adjust your numbers down from the guide.
Lvl 64 means your gear will likely still be replaced, so just aim for 1.5-2k LIFE, and then up to 1k es
Definitely shouldn't be hard only using 1 div out of those 13
My favorite tip when buying late in the season as a noob, "hey I'm new to the game and saw this item, would really help me out if you could sell, thank you!"
Often times that 1 exalt or 1 chaos isn't enough to get someone's attention, but some humanity sure does
Ty so much for the in depth resposnw
i live to yap
this note from fubguns guide is very important for this kind of character (dex/int-based):
"Helmet: You're looking for a high ES helmet, this is important because it'll give you a ton of evasion with Subterfuge Mask"
mobalytics and fubgun's build can be missleading, with 13 divines get a chest and helmet with 450+ ES, boots and gloves with 200+ ES, chest is hybrid, gloves will have less ES if you want more flat damage. max life helps, but it's not necessary, stacking ES and resistances including chaos res is much more important. flat damage on budget rings, you can expect like 55-60, tangletongue will probably have around 12% crit damage and 23% crit chance. don't use rhoa, close combat, longshot or the support that increases the movement penalty on the main skills. on the spear stab close combat is fine tho, so is longshot on the herald of thunder. get at least 5k life+ES and 20k lightning spear DPS
doesn't matter what gear you buy first if all of your gear is bad, but try to replace the worst item in your build

I am a bit confused about bonestorm, does it scale with spell damage and projectile damage?
it does scale with both of those, yes. among other things (e.g. physical damage, area damage)
Yeah it’s super confusing, I’m trying to figure out how to scale this thing but crit, spell damage, physical damage and projectile damage all scaling it. Like what am I suppose to world tour to actually build out this skill?
Like the nodes near ranger solid, the nodes near witch solid, the nodes near warrior solid
In general, you can think of all those you listed except for crit as being in one damage bucket for bone storm. Your spell damage increases + physical damage increases + projectile damage increases all contribute additively to the % damage increase bucket for Bonestorm.
Crit works a bit differently. You have a chance to crit, which you can scale up. And you have crit magnitude, which increases the damage multiplier for when you get a critical hit.
Ty will try and figure out a pob for this
PoB is a great way to learn about damage buckets btw. If you go to the Calcs page you can hover over the increased damage category and it'll tell you every source of % damage increase and where it comes from.
This info is not in the game and probably never will be, but I wish it was. It's highly instructive in teaching how damage actually scales.
Yeah very familiar with pob it was just odd the scaling because none of it seemed that big an outlier for bonestorm while if I was doing like ele damage or something it was a bit easier for target stuff
I mean if you were doing something like Lightning Arrow, it scales on just as much stuff: Bow Damage, Projectile Damage, Elemental Damage, Attack Damage, Lightning Damage
most skills have quite a few scaling vectors
yes/and. I think a lot of new players hear the "multiple scaling vector" stuff and don't realize it's all ultimately one numerical pot.
I had a friend who had like 200% fire damage, so he thought pivoting to a node that gave 10% melee would be a flat 10% increase.
But the point is you have flexibility in which scaling stats you use, and that allows for interesting overlap/synergistic boosting to multiple skills as you make builds.
yeah learning that increases are all additive and more is multiplicative is a fundamental concept that needs to be known
for new players
Agreed. There's some onboarding sins GGG is living with during EA since it seems apparently the assumption was most people at 0.1 would be POE 1 vets.
The tutorialization of how stats work is....I was going to say poor but it's largely not there unless you really dig deep into tooltips.
the underlined tooltip descriptions that you can expand are great
however the baseline concepts behind them need better explaining
a full help panel would work wonders
agreee on all three
I think Viper mentioned one of his goals is to work with QA to have some form of help codex for 1.0. Would be amazing if they can pull that off.
yeah I saw that last week or so
would be great for 1.0 release when the game officially goes F2P
Yep, definitely would be a huge QoL for getting new people into the game at release.
its clear they are valuing clear communication in-game though with the aforementioned expanded tooltip descriptions, as well as the skill demonstration videos
100%. It's already much more accessible than POE 1, and the foundation of the system makes it self documenting as they add more keywords.
it just needs to be expanded on
I think it's in a very good spot, I'm less complaining than saying, "keep going"
I really do like those little videos actually
Except when I forgot they're running and the dude repeats himself 100 while I'm tabbed out
I have a question if you go for a curse aura what’s the best venom to take from the acts
It was not, they just didn't have the time to finish up some stuff, like a help panel.
Kind of but there are a few things that seem to scale my damage a lot more and it’s more noticeable in pob. For instance crit seems to always be a massive upgrade for almost any build I run besides like curses obvi.
With something like a lightning ability I can try and make a build and in pob the ele damage nodes seem to offer a lot more value no matter how much I try and play around with other stats besides crit.
Bonestorm all the stuff in pob seems very competitive. If I scale phys damage or spell damage or projectile damage it was not that far apart.
While other builds there is usually more clear winners especially when doing ele damage.
It’s also very frustrating that almost every build is basically just better with crit including bonestorm.
Flicker better with crit, lightning spear, ice strike, ice shot, galvanic shards, rake and almost all the spell builds end up slamming crit in the high end.
It feels 95% of the builds out there even giga off meta just slam these nodes for all of them. Even bonestorm builds I’m finding have a respec for full crit swap for end game. Could copy and paste it for a lot of the other classes also and just insert evasion or energy shield depending where you started on the tree
Hey,
are there any other sources for gem quality than gemling and gemcutters? I would like to stack quality.
Also on a Fox Talisman
interesting, tyvm
are there any boots and chest that give any buff to fire/spell/skills/ailments/ignite/damage ? (outside of socketables)
Only like level 22 or 23. Been focused on spear and physical damage with the Huntress. Didn't really like the look of the Amazon Ascendancy though. Ritualist doesn't look much better, but I liked the look of some of its stuff more. Just wish either felt more complimentary to my "run around poking things with my spear while also kicking up whirlwinds and twisters a lot and evading damage with Wind Dancer" style
It's not too hard to get Frenzy with Culling Strike, but I do wish her power didn't seem so reliant on variables
Spirit gem level 8 means you can cut "combat frenzy"
This will be your main source of frenzy charges moving forward, and requires you to pin, freeze, or electrocute enemies.
You currently use wind dancer for 30 spirit so you either replace it, wait until act 3 (you get another 30 spirit), or find gear with spirit on it
Bushwhack unique boots would also solve this for you, and should be cheap on trade
If you like whirling + twister, are you using an elemental ground effect? I ran cold for a while it was very fun, I want to try lightning next season
I have explosive spear, but the elemental ground effect requires frenzy
The idea was attack fast, move fast, be hard to hit, eventually have a companion and have as many buffs as possible which is why I went with Ritualist
Just not really sure how to build in the end. I've been focusing on melee damage and got into the spear focused nodes towards the south east edge of the tree. Not really sure where to go from there
I guess I could build into lighting, but I like most of my skills already like whirlwinds and twisters. explosive spear is good. Disengage is another potential source of frenzy if I parry.
I think the only ones I don't really like much are Rake and Blood Hunt, but nothing else really speaks to me
And for some reason I can't pick the bleed related herald skill even though I don't have its gem anywhere
I wish there was a way to search tree nodes for things
I feel like if I can increase my presence range, blood boil would be pretty nice to have as a way to get some extra damage in on large groups or bosses that summon lots of mobs
oooh. I found a thing online that does that
Think I've got stuff I want to build into, but it'll have to wait until I actually have access to companions
whoops lol, ty
<@&174997701513969665>
Are there any successful minion builds?
yes
!pings
By default, people are notified for both PoE 1 and PoE 2.
To customize your pings and channels, either:
- Go to or #rules-and-info and double-press the :bell: icon to remove the the
All-Notificationsrole or - Go to id:customize and toggle your answer for the "Ping me for both games
" question to enabled, then disabled.
Either of these will remove the (formerly) default role and instead you can select either the
Path of Exile 1 or
Path of Exile 2 roles you want. If you want neither, go to the #rules-and-info channel instead of onboarding and you can remove both as well. This may cause some channels to disappear, you can re-add them in id:customize and use 'Show all channels'
Tactician piercing? Shot Pin+PinStun+HeraldDiscount. 50% bleed chance tree + chance to bleed support + crimson (1s bleed aggravate). herald of blood -> poison. ailment nodes and phys damage
shoot every second bleed every second 100% uptime
Does anyone happen to know if "Behead" support gem on "Spear Stab" would synergize with "Tear" support gem?
I'm hoping that I can steal 2 modifiers from a rare.... But I'm struggling to test it in the field since the HUD just has the generic "stolen modifier" instead of what you actually stole.
Hey,
I am playing with a friend and he uses the Incinerate Gem, but for some reason the ignite on the enemy (tested on a boss) disappears regularly even though he holds the ability in them the entire time. Does anyone know why this could happen?
They can only disappear if they have anything that consumes ignite on enemies like firestorm.
Yes tyvm we just figured that out as well. ty for your help
i havent played reliably since Huntress was released - im looking to dive back into the game but was wanting to know the build i should try after giving Pconc Pathfinder Lich and huntress a try with varying success
was wanting to try something different
so whats The Third Edict anyways
The next update, 0.3. We don't know many specifics just yet, the full content reveal will be on August 20th, with the release on August 29th.
so @static torrent if ive mentioned the classes above - i did dabble with the Tank class and a little with Monk but i just dont know who to fully dive into stuff with
ive been busy with other games and such
i was hoping Druid was out and playable tho that doesnt seem to be the case
I only answered that part since I'm not too familiar with what people are doing xd
However, it might be a good idea to just wait for the fresh league anyway, since that's when lots of people will come back to the game, and the fresh economy will mean you can actually afford to trade for stuff. Once 0.3 does come out, though it will inevitably bring balance changes, so builds that people use now may be changed or even outright removed due to alterations to the skills.
Classes will drop with major releases, like 0.2 or, potentially, 0.3. We don't yet know if Druid will be present in the next update, again, content reveal will confirm the details.
ok ill be home by then
If you check the post in your browser, it should display it in your local time: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3825369
But anyway, we'll find out what we are and aren't getting then. For now, we don't have Druid, but if 0.3 has a class, Druid is the most likely one.
Boo. Booooooo! We want templars 😄
can anyone help with my build?
what is your issue
Hmm.
Looking at the change to ascendency since the last time I played, wondering if it's worth undoing my old selection of Traveller's Wisdom to get the newly added node of Sustainable Practices
it sounds really good. i wanted to do pathfinder for my spear character to try it but i went invasion. i am glad i did, pure evasion as a melee would be rough, cant get hit ever
think evasion is for pure archer classes right now, the defence can only be good for something that gets hit rarely
I was looking through more, and pulled up my old build, so noticed that they moved away one of the sections I used to use.
Dark Entries is way up at the top of the skill tree now, too far away to want to get to I think, that's immediately some node points back.
I could say that will make it very easy to no longer use Traveller's Wisdom but I also see they added a 2nd quiver cluster
is there a new path of building?
you are trying to move from 0.1 to 0.2 build?
I opened it to see the new ascensions but happened to notice the ascension for my main character was changed
when this coming update drops and I play again idk if I'll poison pathfinder again but if so I'll need to decide what im changing
guys does ghostwrithe still work with CI?
I only have one note, and that is all Thunderfist Monks shall be called THUNDERFUNK
Really want to try something that incorporates the new black flame node.. Any suggestions?
Wait nvm cast on crit would still work just feels worse to me imo
do you think whirling slash still snapshots?
like obvoiusly i cant use two whilring slashes now... BUT
whirlwind lance also creates a whirlwind.. can i snapshot the size with whirlwind lance and then use whirling slash?
Is Shield Charge travel speed related to attack speed?
The skill's base movement speed has been reduced by 25%, but it no longer has a cooldown. Now has a Base Attack Time of 0.6 seconds (previously 0.5) [...]
EDIT: answer is no 🙁
wait.. incinerate is also different now... gee this will be more convoluted
Also I could use some clarification on the ES/Eva 'on Equipped Armour Items' wording of Hollow Palm, if someone is confident they know what it means.
I think its to prevent scaling from jewels and tree % sources, but what about stuff like 'double Eva from X' piece of gear? That not real Eva 'on' the piece of gear, but its still extra Eva being provided directly by that piece of gear.
Would it apply to Hollow Palm scaling?
"item energy shield"
specifically whatever the item says
Will we have some passive planner for the new league before launch?
Also for ascendencies
would be nice, but i havent seen or heard of it yet
So, what do ppl do to get mana flask charges back?
have they buffed HP passive yet ?
Mortar cannon best ascendancy? anyone guess? grenades look good, lots of buffs
Totem / Balista now directly scales off your weapon damage, that's huge as well
Wanna know this too
Elementalist PSA: Trinity now works on all elemental damage (attacks AND spells), % more ele dmg, and % inc skill speed from gem quality
wait, we can't run dual whirling slashes anymore?
oh damn, no duplicates anymore
sheesh
I'm scrambling to figure out how the build might survive too as a Fire Lich main. Yes, Whirlwind Lance is viable, I've seen some spin builds run it before. Maybe getting Frenzy Charges will be a little bit easier now too and we'll be able to integrate that now
There are new ways to make burning or ignited ground
yeah im worried about both being able to cast incinerate
both starting the cast and if we have a way to get a fire infusion with no enemies
that being said if it does work.. it should technially be buffed
so if we can get a power charge. frenzy charge and infusion
There's no way to convert 100% of phys to chaos, right?
i think you conditionally can
with ancestral cry
but that depends on if that counts as innate skill conversion in the conversion chain
then again we dont really use that node
is there a cap to elemental penetration?
If you can convert phys to fire maybe go the black flame node? Honestly not sure how itd work
Cant chain convert
So i guess i pray for Chaos Archon
Since then i can run the ele quarterstaff skills and convert that ele to Chaos
Or is there 100% cold/lightning to chaos besides Voltaxic Rift
New act and mechanic means new specters 👀
Does Plague Burst from Bursting Plague support benefit from other support gems socketed in the skill? example here: Considered Casting + Plague Burst in Detonate Dead.
I haven't played in a few months and I'm trying to figure out why I could kill mobs from full health to dead with just plague burst. Could be that it was proccing from multiple mobs, could be that the 35% extra damage from considered casting was pushing my plague burst from 83.6% of a mobs HP up to 112% of a mob's HP
I seem to only have 318% extra chaos damage
... oh wait, I'm not applying my increased spell damage to Bursting Plague... maybe that's it. But it doesn't have the "spell" tag, so maybe not? I'm lost
is there a consisten way in the game to generate endurance charges? feels like the new ancestral warchief totem is dead in the water if you need 3 endurance charges to use it
does anyone know the order of operations for split, fork, pierce, chain
nvm i found it on google: Split -> Pierce -> Fork -> Chain -> Return
PoEDB provides things come out each league, as well as items, uniques, skills and passives. Path of Exile Wiki editing functions.
something around this tech is one option
PoEDB provides things come out each league, as well as items, uniques, skills and passives. Path of Exile Wiki editing functions.
pair it with this on a weapon swap with Leap Slam and you'll be diving into packs with max endurance just about every time.
im not really sure how they showed a character putting down like 3-4 totems before a boss fight
did they say if the new darkness enthroned is just armour or can it be weapons as well
Turtle Charm is now trash. Long live the Titan.
Resonating Shield + Break Endurance support gem will solve your endurance generation problems pretty consistently as long as you have a way to consume the armour break in your rotation (tbh even without it, but since you can break so fast with RS a lot of those consume bonuses are pretty nice). I also put envenom+corrosion+armour explosion+bursting plague on mine, which causes a pretty nasty chain reaction in packs and near-instantly caps my endurance charges as soon as the first wave of monsters armour breaks.
I also run a magma barrier with penetration and fiery death + some other fire increases to back it up so that I can briefly pause resonating shield and gain extra guaranteed stacks or just time some raise shield/bashes if I happen to get pounced on by a mana drain unique. The magma spray can clear packs in front of me by itself and is a meaty increase on the initial burst of RS.
Uhhh
From patch notes
Hexblast: Quality now provides 0-10% more Damage per 1 second of remaining Duration of removed Curse, instead of 0-20% more Chaos Damage.
How is this going to work with the new lich ascendancy that grants infinite curse duration?
Because, as written, the obvious answer is "hexblast will do infinite damage"
are we at least getting more thorn supports and passives? or even the thorn runes?
i was wanting to do a thorns build
but thats a huge decrease in thorns
this doesn't look like much, but if I correctly understand, items that are normally limited to 1 socket can now drop with 2 in end-game maps...and corruption doesn't have any notes about no longer being able to add a socket, so that's a potential of 3 for 150% increased thorns crit chance... Dunno if that's good enough to enable some funny cast-on-crit shenanigans or not, but it can't hurt.
Although personally if I understand all that right, I'm more interested in the new 25% of armour applies to cold/fire/lightning hits soul cores. Socket 3 of each of those with max resistances and 50K armour....
i mean, there were crit thorn builds, and briarpatch gives so much
you could easily cap it
the biggest problem was always base thorns damage to scale off of
That lightning thorn rune is pretty beefy... up to 100, right?
1-100
On the bright side if you were really leaning hard into stacking the damage to make it work there's also that lightning damage is lucky node somewhere that I've never taken.
in patch notes it says Instead, it applies 20 stacks of Critical Weakness to enemies when you consume a Mark on them.; what counts as consuming a mark?
i know bloodhounds is consumed when you heavy stun the enemy
oh I see, some of the descriptions use that terminology
Mark a target. The next Critical Hit the target receives consumes the Mark to deal extra damage and grant you a Frenzy Charge. - sniper's mark
yeah
oh that gives me an idea, you could use thorns with that
insta-consume
100% crit chance on thorns is easily attainable
neato; seems like deadeye will be even better this league
i used it with the impale gloves at first, lets your normal attacks consume the big thorns impale
oh? how does that work?
so your thorns will always crit, applying impale
but your normal attacks wont crit
so they extract the impale
then with corrupting, this can get to 30.5%
then you have the 6% base crit for thorns on the tree, meaning you have 36.5% base crit on thorns, meaning you need just under 200% increased crit chance for thorns
also thorns is just funny against certain bosses
like here's an old clip of me fighting act 5 jamanra, when he throws down the gates https://youtu.be/UoCk_wQRKAE?si=zM0zRqCc3wEfToIk&t=88
took me a lot of messing about, and man, barbs and quill burst being level 3 support gems really screws over this as a league starter, but once its going, its amazing
oh that's classic
do you have a pob/build link for that?
ofc sure, was just wondering how you pulled off the current build
Is it possible to reach 100% all damage bypasses energy shield?
not even close
mostly thorns damage, and block nodes
its meant to be tanky
phys damage increases affect it as well if you're using phys thorns
scavenged plating with warbringer is a must early on
warbringers "break armour equal to 10% of hit damage dealt" lets your thorns trigger scavenged plating for you
then you usually use rapid assault with spear with consuming armour, so scavenged can trigger multiple times on the same enemy
tasty synergies there
hey does dying sun screw with awk spell echo on self cast fross in some kind of bad way at all?
wondering if i should ditch it
Is there any item/passive that converts direct damage taken to damage over time?
i think that is the only source in the game as of 0.2
Rolling Slam: Now has +1.5 seconds to total attack time (previously 1 second), but no longer has an attack speed penalty. Quality now provides 0-100% increased Stun Threshold while using Skill, instead of Causes Daze Buildup equal to 0-50% of Physical damage dealt.
so is it better or worse?
i forget, does vulnerability on fully broken enemies make them have negative armour, or 0 armour since there's nothing to ignore?
0
also if they are brought down to 0 before the break, then basically any break at all will fully break
very useful in certain situations
ok. got it
the interaction with regular break is pretty interesting. will keep in mind
yeah I used it in a really weird battershout warcry build where I would reduce the armour to 0 with blasphemy + vuln, break it instantly with seismic cry, then weapon swap away so the enemy no longer was affected by vuln and then blow it up with another battershout seismic cry
was basically left click and right click only
conflicted between blood mage, trinity elementalist, and tank totem warbringer
Hey, i'm planing to play Lightning Spear Huntress, do you think it will be good enough ? Or perhaps it was too much nerfed ?
(Even if with all the buff and co. i don't think it will be bad)
it'll deal 33% less damage (no more 50% bonus from frenzy) and have slightly less clear. could still be usable, just not as broken as before
is it possible to roll multiple times with one click?
and can grasp of the void be a main map clear skill for monk?
400% damage scaling is pretty good imo. now depends on if the 3m base radius will be enough or if you can chain other effects from it
1- how did u know that it has 400% scaling, or did they show that in the stream
2-i don't know how i can chain other effects from it, but i can make it bigger and stronger and maybe echo/fork right?
it's in stream, they show the gem details at the left side
nice.. what about my second point?
the gem's tags are: buff, persistent, aoe, duration
acolyte seems to spec into volatility since there's a node that makes volatility do no self-damage. So, could use heralds even if maining chaos damage
just a tag they use on lots of persistent gems i guess
so i use any skill or the void illusion itself to generate volatility, i take no damage i get stronger and use heralds + all elemental to chaos via the new notable in the class spec
or does that notable not exist and i have to somehow transform my elemental dmg to chaos via another way?
elemental -> chaos isn't in the asc. just chaos can deal one of the elemental ailments and cycles every 2 seconds
um can the copy share damage by me, so that if i inflict damage on myself, i don't take damage due to volatility spec but it does?
no, even if it did they specified the copy as having 1 life
yea but that copy get hit like a bit late and then my damage wouldn't happen instantaneously
hmmmmmmmmm, can it be made to deal like a very big burst of damage, something close to sniper?
ofc not as strong i just don't know the scaling of sniper
@dreamy bridge ?
well, snipe will now deal 1000% without a crit so...
Snipe: Explosion is no longer Guaranteed Critical Hit and doesn't have increased Critical Damage Bonus. Explosion now deals 424-1092% Attack Damage at Gem levels 3-20 (previously 133-343%), and has a radius of 2.8 metres (previously 1.6). Perfectly timed arrows that hit a Frozen or Heavy Stunned enemy now cause larger explosions that deal much more damage. Quality now provides +0-0.4 metres to Explosion radius.
but that needs you to hit the perfect window since the explosion only happens there. mistimed snipe won't explode
so is it possible to make my skill do very big burst damage or not?
Hey Does archmage work with elemental storm ? I don't see a reason why it shouldn't right ?
Was thinking about running Elemental Storm Sorcerer for a bit and now with the changes and buffs to Sorcerer that feels like a good time to do so
there doesn't seem to be any good supports for it. it doesn't have the chaos tag so chaos mastery doesn't work.
I think it can poison, so supports for poison like corrosion will help a bit
shiiiiiiiit, no i hate poison
won't hurt that bad. doubt you'd get more than 1 stack while using that skill
this is a very vague idea, can't i use other skill to buff myself or the skill in many different ways and use the skill as a nuke?
dunno. all I can think of is volatility and that buffs everything so you might be better off using other skills
there's payoff supports like biting frost that give more damage but that's pretty much it
shit man, wtf is this skill, like i can't cast it too fast for clear and it's too strong bossing, wtf it's like a side skill
that sucks
so for builds like ED contagion, +1 lvl chaos skill gems is gonna be meta for every skill ?
I'd assume so. basically the main way to scale spells
So i can have unleash on several skills now huh?
Yes
I was thinking either LA deadeye, or Lich<Something> For league start (NO MINIONS). What are some of the best skills for Lich?
i was practicing for ED contagion, w/ despair, dark effigy, blasphemy + temp chains (makes dots last longer)
pretty strong ngl
Eternal life is a good node, it allows you to use the items and nodes that bypass energy shield to damage you and negates it since it locks life in place, leaving only postive benifits from those items/nodes
How do mace skills get crit chance usually?
there isnt much crit chance in bottom left area
do you all think some sort of unarmed invoker monk with magic (via set swapping to a staff) might be good?
or should i just go pure unarmed?
theres a couple crit nodes there, theres also dual weilding crit nodes on the bottom right* too if you can branc to that area
recommend getting POB and seaching for crit
I tried this tho, isn't ED cont mapping possibly the worst in the game?
i havn't done mapping yet so maybe, leveling was smooth though
I like the ascendency but I dont know what skill to play if i play it.
ED Cont has super high numbers its just slow as SIN
i found the clear speed to be fast but bossing to be average
I guess im comparing it to LA Deadeye everything will be slow
LA will be faster and its getting buffed
Wait really I didnt see buffs
pretty much everything is getting buffed
Lightning arrow is not on the list
yeah but you can use elemental infusions with it now
elemental infusions?
and multiple of the same skill supports
Added a new mechanic called Elemental Infusion that many Elemental Spells interact with. Some skills create Infusions of a specific element as Remnants on the ground, which can be picked up to grant you the Infusion. Other skills can consume Infusions of a specific type to grant additional bonuses depending on the skill. Some skills consume infusions that match the skill's elemental type, while others have cross-elemental infusions.
I saw those but I doubt I will be able to generate those
I also saw mirage archer
Which looks so good
Electrocuting Arrow: No longer a movement Skill. Now shoots an arrow forward that explodes, applying its Electrocuting Rod to all enemies Hit. Quality now causes Hits against targets with attached Rods to gain 0-10% of Damage as Extra Lightning Damage (previously Arrow duration is +0-6 seconds).
hm
seems cool too, builds up electrocution for charges, will have to see how it plays but seems promising, the skill was trash before
I mean its still trash outside of bosses but electrocuting bosses is good
Im reading the patch notes. Am i missing something about the giants blood nerf and block nerf? Wth are warriors supposed to do?
Play totem.
jade & armor
Remember totems snapshot
that said armor applying to ele is b4 resistances so it sounds dead on arrival
and weapon swap is 0 delay
I guess they nerfed them due to other factors beside warriors?
its 100% nerfed for totems
they balanced for totems
getting level 40 totems from a 1 mod weapon is OP
theres a world where they are insanely good this league across the board
mercs included
that being said Galvanic WH is gonna be an insanely good league start now
with the shock duration change
idk i think EA + LA will be a good combo
And curses are pretty much entirely dead on every class beside pure/hybrid int builds? Since i assume you probably need like 130 int or something to even apply them to bosses?
the damage nerf to shock burst rounds basically completely nullified during acts because this
LR + LA will be my build. EA might make it in but thats because there is no penalty for including it
they reduced the att needs for everything in the game
thats the standard build
I mean that's fine
Yeah but you still need a high level gem to use said curse
oh you mean the ele weakness ones
I've only ever done it last league and i got bored because there was nothing to do. I'm excited to play it and get a HH
Assume deflect caps within Evasion+ES range
I am saying for the purposes of this convo assume it
Added new Suffix Modifiers that can roll on Dexterity Armours from level 33 that grant a percentage of your Evasion Rating as Deflection Rating.
oh I see sorry I thought you were asking the question
Right Im saying assume with tailwind you can hit that cap while building ES/Evasion peices
its a percent of Evasion so you are getting less deflection and evasion by splitting
no theres no reason to go pure evasion atm
Generally due to the 20% more multi from tailwind evasion+ES gets a much larger hit pool
none of the content in the game really allows for zhp atm
the thing is for helms no evasion helm is more than an ES help + Sub mask
so an ES helm is just an upgrade.
and the es/evasion passives are like 3% less evasion ~36% less evasion on tree for something like 180% ES.
math just doesnt math to skip it IMO
this is also ascendancy dependant anyways, cause if you're playing bm you're obviously gonna go for a full ES chestpiece
they are also adding a lot of new passives
wait actually
I meant for green side.
Added 8 new clusters between the Warrior and Witch/Sorceress areas of the Passive Tree.
Added 15 new clusters to the Warrior area of the Passive Tree.
Added 23 new clusters to the Mercenary area of the Passive Tree.
Added 17 new clusters to the Ranger/Huntress area of the Passive Tree.
Added 17 new clusters to the Monk area of the Passive Tree.
Added 25 new clusters to the Witch/Sorceress areas of the Passive Tree.
sorc ward
Im going to level with you
clusters mind you
this is some clear favoritism lmao
Warrior, the worst of the bunch gets 15. Witch, the strongest gets 25.
I think they are trying to make chronomancer not completely unplayable
It's already arguably the best support by a wide margin. People just hate supports.
having a support class in a game that doesn't really have a streamlined approach to group play is the reason why that is
i think its just the way the classes are distributed rn
which to be clear i think is fine
that chronomancer is a support
witch/sorc has 5 ascendancies warrior has 3
just the fantasy of time magic kinda falls through
yeah true
once marauder comes out im sure that bit will get other nodes
I didnt think about that
once they release int/str classes
I imagine druid will be int/str alongside Templar
We know all the classes and their attribute alignments already
oh I just realize Morior just got 10x better.
STR: Marauder (Axe) and Warrior (Mace)
STR/INT: Templar (Flail) and Druid (Staff/Sceptre)
INT: Witch (Wand/Sceptre) and Sorceress (Staff)
INT/DEX: Shadow (Dagger/Traps) and Monk (Quarterstaff)
DEX: Ranger (Bow) and Huntress (Spear)
DEX/STR: Duelist (Sword) and Mercenary (Crossbow)
deflection makes 1-2k armor insane for mapping
oh yeah i forgot it was on the ingame skill menu lol
I dont get why they changed the 5% max fire res node on smith
because it was good.
oo im excited for sword skills too
how else will the blue side look good if not?
Blue is the favorite child, Green is the pathetic youngest child that runs around like a mad man, Red is the hated child.
for someone that want to try summoner but never played summoners before, what build/ascendancy you can recommend?
for new league start
I'm not a big summoner player but it's almost always lich for summoner unless you want totem
do we know when we will get the passive tree?
5 minutes before launch
wtf is this crap
its deadeye for sure. Extra proj
It should, its a clone of you with your stats
Pathfinder has similar tankiness nodes, but way WAY worse offensive nodes
want to go poison pathfinder maybe, unless de is better
+1 proj, 30% more, Tailwind vs... yeah
for those new poison arrow stuffs
the changes to supports make deadeye better for poison IMO
sucks that they gutted Concotions
you can poison everything
new concs look pretty alright
oh they buffed them again?
there’ll probably be some gas cloud unarmed aconc shenanigans
Cuase first patch thye were OP second patch they were super mid
Oh they’re supporting skills now
rn looking at smth like unarmed flickerstrike with elemental expression, do you think that will be good? will we still have an easy way to get power charges?
Elemental expressions numbers are butts.
Its just weak fundumentally because of the internal CD of .25 seconds capping its effect
damn
well, the flickerstrike is what matters to me
so im fine with using smth else
I tried to make it work but the skill fundumentally does not work.
Flicker works if you can get charges on bosses
gotcha, so i either need to find a way to get charges on singletarget, or have another skill(s) meant for bosskilling
Trying not to be a downer about bottom left builds but it does seem like warrior survivability tools, which were already lacking compared to just stacking ES, are somewhat gutted?
Smith, giants blood, block nerfs make me think that I should just go es+ev+deflect for everything, again
Correct. Only totem warbringer bottom left is being balanced around.
anyone here planning on starting hollow palm?
is it safe to assume that on an unearth minion build with 20 minions, most will just be unable to be in-range to attack on small hitbox enemies ?
because of collision
How would new demon form work for Infernalist?
green is the middle child, forgotten
not knowledgeable about infernalist builds, but I'd assume it'll stay around the same power if not better now that you keep your hand equips + more spell damage. net loss of -2 spell level is tough to judge with more spell damage offsetting it
wait so how does that work stat wise ? do you still get staff stat benefits or ?
I will make hollow palm blood mage work
all the pieces are there
I can feel it through the screen
you just don't have a weapon and instead gain attack speed or base crit from gear
base unarmed attack speed is 1.4 and you easily get like 100% more attack speed from evasion gear
going bleed or what?
I was conflicted between blood mage and palm chayula. you have enlightened me
you can get a dick ton of crit and defenses from blood mage
going pure es chestpiece you double up on crit
because you get crit from hollow palm, and from stacking max life off of the es from the chest
Thoughts on new chrono curse skill?
It's just straight up more damage for single target right
at first I thought it was my suggestion of collapsing all dots and dealing damage at once, then was slightly disappointed.
it does seem like a good curse. effectively %more dps with it
imagine if you could put it in blasphemy
it's an ascendancy skill, so might not be able to move it to blasphemy
Like time freeze appears in skill menu.
Hey for the next update, does anyone know what they meant by unlocking support gems to be able to use more than once? Are they just making it so support gems can be used on multiple skills, or can the support gem be used multiple times on the same skill?
the same support on multiple skills
Thanks 🙂
Warbringer is pretty nuts now. Free 25 max block chance
Since max block chance got nerfed to 50
It's not free, it costs you 30% damage taken from every blocked hit and 4 ascendancy points
does anyone know, does the Earthquake "Aftershock" effect count as an Aftershock for this passive?
i tried testing it ingame but could not see a difference
What spells/builds could work well with the lich that are fire skills?
yes it does
yea it does
it does? that is very strange, i could not see in the tooltip nor any visual changes
does the skill have a cap on radius?
Hi, I have a question based upon the info in the 0.3 video. In the video we get a screen. That screen indicates at level 82 approximately 6,505 Deflection is needed to cap. While we don't know what the scaling curve is, given the absolutely massive conversion rates (And uncapped conversion) it seems like getting capped won't be too hard. Does Deflection make Life any better or is it still better to invest in ES even if they shave about 33% off of each ES node? It seems like the 30% qual/Extra sockets on gear massively out weigh that.
no there is no cap, my eq build would off-screen
do you mind sharing a POB of your setup?
I mean the intent of deflection is to make you not NEED to go hybrid. Now it still probably will be better to go hybrid ES I imagine but Life + Evasion may be playable now depending
i tried using it on one of my other builds that has a large investments into AoE and only got it to around 5 meters
I mean I'd rather not REQUIRE CI again but I don't see a world where CI isn't the best choice since life just sucks.
what amount of increased stun buildup would be reasonable to get in order to make sure you always heavy-stun an enemy on every hit? (i am using slam skills) right now i have like 300% increased stun buildup planned for but i might not need that much?
impossible, stunthreshold increases for a bit after a heavy stun. It would spiral upward until you can't Stunlocking is impossible
i mean ideally i would not need to heavy stun an enemy more than maybe 3 times before they are dead
so i would reasonably not account for more than that
yeah, which is why i said at most 3 times, ideally 1-2 times
and as such, what amount of increased stun buildup would i need to accomplish that ideal 1-2 times
1? probably very little, probably 40-80%. 2 3-4x that.
you want to run the reduced stun threshold aura if I recall
is the stun buildup dependent on the damage you deal?
i am planning on doing that yeah
Yes but if you do too much damage you just kill it
i am planning on using this, and that skill consists of two hits, the initial hit which i am hoping will heavy-stun them and the shockwave which will use the bonuses to heavy stunned enemies (hopefully)
Oh I am not saying they have succeeded in making ES not the best thing to do, just what they said the intent was :)
My best chain stunning setup was from bleed weirdly, with that one bleed mark that made bleed damage build stun
ok im reposting a build concept here
because its lost in gen chat
The acolyte has had quite a few changes for this new league, but ill go over what i think is going to be nerfed sooner than later
So, with this being said.... there is no need to invest into any quarterstaff nodes, as the hollow palm technique only gives you internal scaling of quarterstaff skills based on the given conditions. This method of stacking damage with pseudo-quaraterstaff combat along with volatility stacking allows chayula to easily reach immense heights of damage while retaining high amounts of self sustain and mitigation. Volatility is meant to make you take damage, chayula's new passive allows you to ignore that downside COMPLETELY. (This volatility description is slightly outdated, it caps at 200 currently and should follow new conditions for maximum vol. after patch hits). Let's not forget we can also scale critical because unarmed new passive 5% crit chance BASE.
...In any case, why volatility? Well, if we look at one of the other new nodes, chayula now leeches mana based on chaos damage dealt. This replaced the beloved Gain chaos damage on hit passive, and is considerably weaker than the previous mana leech node, but due to all scaling factors and how well chayula benefits from volatility (damage gained as extra chaos damage for each stack, downside negated). Another method for mana leech is the new Walker of the Wilds notable (which gives mana leech based on elemental damage, perfect for invoker's weakness gap, but potentially unnecessary depending on the direction you go for chayula. In terms of chaos damage stacking, we want to benefit more from chaos leech). Which brings me to my next point, INTO THE BREACH! This passive was definitely something that shined on the previous iteration of chayula, and now its buffed up and even more reliable than before. You can hard lock what remnant you want (purple, blue, red), with purple being the primary beneficiary here. 7% chaos damage PER. FUCKING. STACK. The best part? We have another node that makes them even stronger. with 50% increased effect AND we have 2 support gems that gives yet another 60% TOTAL, that adds up to DAMAGE GAINED AS 147% chaos damage (from remnants alone).
it is too hard to plan much atm with the big passive skill tree changes and support gem changes that we have no seen
it doesn't, you get increased physical damage for the gem level, and those gems convert damage to an element most of the time
read the post
which passive ignores this
i went over every detail for it
I dont understand
read it
this is all off patch notes, this concept exists enough to detail it to this extent
there is MORE than enough information
I am not seeing how off the patch notes you ignore a 20k phys hit.
Hi folks, haven't played for months, I've only played Deadeye to the endgame, want to try something different for the next patch - are there other classes with similar clear speed, just not as clunky as melee used to be at first?
look at the pictures then
you aren't reading
I mean the patch notes are helpful but we are missing so much context. So at best you can get a vauge interaction concept to try and make work
otherwise you would know based off reading
but even that is missing tons of context
ah i missed the last line
Of what is listed yes. But not everything is listed what I mean
the only number that isn't detailed enough is volatility
yeah thats a good bossing option
because the 200 limit cap is being changed
it was temporary
since it broke damage numbers in 0.2
I guess, I play deadeye and PoE 2 feels slow.
I mean you need a minion to snap to. You don't have ~200% MS
1% more attack speed per 25 evasion on equipped armour
0% base attack speed tho.
vs 2.X on end game weapons.
you're forgetting we can use the same exact support gems on multiple skills now
I mean with end game armor you are hitting at least that much AS or higher on hollow palm
anyways the number and details are all there
It's possible but that doesn't address my point. Your movement speed is still -tailwind - X from tree which was my point. POE2 is slower and I feel slow on deadeye
ok so ur just complaining about poe2 and deadeye
this has nothing to do with the build concept
It's a good idea, if a little slow to ramp early league
theres no movespeed reduction on the concept btw
since you likely scale exponentially it will get good quick.
you're pulling this out of your ass
like i said go read it, you commented 3 times now saying something that isnt true
ragebait idk
Monk lacks some of hte MS nodes on tree was my point. There's only like 13% or something near them. The rest is down by ranger.
we have sprint
Not saying its bad.
I mean I don't think not being literally ranger makes a build bad
Sprint is interesting but it should scale with MS
Out of curiosity have they fixed weapon swap blink?
wait does it not?
nobody knows
We don't know but I would assume sprint is multiplicitive with MS.
i hope so that'd be so sick
could be addative as well, but either way I expect it to stack with MS in some way
idk
Skill Effect Duration doesn't apply to Ailment Duration correct? asking for ignite specifically
Looks like the answer is its gone.
yes ignite is its own effect
maybe
Blink now needs to work on both weapon sets.
So yeah its gone
how likely is it they screw up with mirage archer too 😄
I guess it depens on how mirage archer works. And if he scales with weapon dmg.
I'd put money on it using the totem snapshot code which you can weapon swap when you cast it then swap back.
On the back side you can slap + level of proj skills and good rolls even if you cant handle +Proj skills.
Sounds interesting. we‘ll see how it works
Will max block chance work with warbringer or is it capped to 75 on turtle
I guess it can go further but i haven‘t find anything about that.
Any word on if we're getting passive tree swapping with a single weapon? So for example you could do grenades + bolts on a single crossbow but with two trees, or spec into leech for a single ability on your main weapon
I know it was planned for 0.2 but I can't find it in 0.3 notes
Does lower ignite duration mean less damage or the same damage in a shorter time?
less duration but the same damage per second, so less total damage per ignite
faster ignites means same total damage in shorter time, so higher damage per second
longer means same damage per second for a longer duration
Anyone thinking of running Tactician? What are we thinking of doing?
What's everyone going to use with recovering es now? Since eternal youth got nerfed to shit
Ghost dance.
10k evasion makes 700 ES on dodge.
and you get 40% less damage taken from hits
Good call. Guess I have to get evasion somewhere
You can also use essentia sanguina for ES leech. It's still easy to recover.
New swarm skill that makes bug minions that poisons enemies + tactician node that gives weapon damage to your minions
will it suck? probably. will it be cool? probably
anyone have any idea how to calculate attack speed in poe2, i cant get pob to match ingame even with character porting
i am trying to calculate if new sunder changes are actually a buff or not but following how pob does the calcs doesnt even match
I got big stonks on indigon this league with incinerate
Hmm I'm planning to run a support build with merit of service turtle charm so not sure how else to recover ES
can you trigger channeling stills?
I don't think you can convince me not to start LA Deadeye at this point. I know it will work
They designed the new mechanics so the literal most important metrics is maps/hour and movement speed is the only meaningful way to improve that
For blackflame cov normal chaos damage wont ignite right?
doesnt sound like it will
I was really hoping that it would. But yeah that makes sense. Damn a guy can dream lol
Is anyone here super fast at leveling ranger? I've been trying and oh boy is it miserable.
Was that screenshot from the Livestream?
yes
Thanks. U da homie.
you guys think we will get a full reveal of all new gems and such before release?
When can we start expecting to see league started builds for 0.3.0 on maxroll and other build sites?
like when do they usually start popping up
or
at the least when to see early overviews of how the meta is going to look like/league starter builds, to get the baseline of what to play/what to expect?
Likely when PoB has the data
Im sure you can find at least some ideas though from the patch notes and in discord
hey guys - are there any resources we can look at regarding the new ascendancy + skill trees?
the ascendancy changes are all in the patch notes
we dont have tree yet, and we wont until the patch
gl
noted with thanks, much appreciated 🙂
Fingers crossed for dual wielding 2handers
Huh, looks like 0 changes for titan - hope that's not the case 👀
eh titan was already in a solid spot tbh
not too weak, not too strong
it fills its niche well
think so? im hoping i can revist titangrasp titan again - tbf i played warrior only at launch, not the amazon league
titan is pretty versatile due to hulking form
anything that scales well with small passives scales well on titan
true, im looking forward to it - giga stoked to return to bonk
Thoughts on going pure eva deadeye with dex stacking for life/deflect/acrobatics, vs eva/es with ghost dance?
eva/es would be able to get significantly less eva, not sure if acrobatics will be worth with it without mirror tier gear
and with changes to ES in Third Edict, ghost dance seems to be the only viable way to recover it (assuming its not changed)
I mean Titan is indirectly getting buffed with a denser passive tree
less travel nodes taken = more things buffed by hulking form
oh yeah its big brain time
@fickle orbit might not be the best play but Im probably going to mess with deflect just cuz it is new haha
And apparently you can get 100% deflect?
Yea, seems dope to me
agree
The major difference that we have seen is every source we have seen (other than tactician) is direct evasion conversion. So you won't be putting it on armor or ES builds. At least in theory
Yea we'll see how that plays out, I'm sure there will be some uber meta breaking build that dips their toe into it somehow
Havent played much since the start of when huntress dropped so not 100% sure what to expect. Still reading patch notes and such
Yeah but what about eva/es hybrids
unless that stat literally cant roll on non-pure eva bases
I mean I assume they will abuse the hell out of it unles the conversion is super bad somehow
I expect ES/Evasion to be the best defense in 0.3.0
i like the concept if you do more with this can you update me. i was planing on doing some with hollow palm
i detailed it here
ok thanks
just hope i can continue doing my autos/leap goes brr amazon
next patch
was bringer of rain touched/changed?
no but giants blood means you get way less life now
oh wait right bringer of rain
yes
X3 on gloves. = 45%, darkness enthroned with gloves slot x2 and 100% increased effect can get you to 105% chance not to consume empowered attacks
Means we can abuse mantra of destruction as well as other empower shennenigans, not sure if worth but..
was it changed?
BoR is unchanged
unchanged

i forgot what it did in this game
but its better in context with the fact that giants blood is worse
i think ive reached around 500k dps with autos before i used the fun shrine mace/had a better one
so this gonna be nice now that theres less str req
didnt even have that much good items
hey I havent played much since early 0.2, did tempered runes make it into the game? they dont appear to be on trade site
They are mentioned in this hotfix..
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3764759
and are on poedb..
https://poe2db.tw/us/Greater_Tempered_Rune
What ascendancies are looking good to people with the changes they’ve announced for 0.3?
The options are literally limitless, all these nerfs won’t even hold a candle to how strong we will still be with all this new shit.
will mirage archer gain heat?
What website you guys use for build guides?
is it not possible to make multiple spikes at once with earthshatter in this game
looks like ass in this game after trying out poe 1 and playing it
there's a support for that
upheaval
Yeah but its only 2 extra, and the skill either goes too far away or too tight together lol
Putting Impale on one of Staggering Palm or Wind Blast should be pretty effective right?
Since the one it isnt on will extract the impales
its basically just a 30% more phys support gem for either
which is solid
I wanna to try some meme blood monk fantasy with bloodmage with phys quarterstaff skills, not sure if viable but bloodmage nodes seems good
I did a nice psn Chaos Bolt build with Bloodmage and that's been buffed a lot
does 12% more damage after lvl 11, inflicts 1-3 wither stacks for 4s on hit
Bloodmage now generates life remnants on hit
I would like to try SORC fireball + blackflame or WITCH Infernalist + blackflame
But I dont have idea how to build it and what should I scale in gear and passives - chaos or fire...
They did nerf the max life from life remnants to 50% of your hp instead of 100% though
that's a sizeable nerf
I feel like the deadeye bloodmage meta simply continues
what would be a good AOE clearing skill for a rake blood hunt bloodmage?
I doubt anyone trades currencies on the website. Try ingame exchange. Maybe there are some.
with the new exceptional weapons and the dhalia liniage support gem you can get a lot of levels on skills now very easily is 40 the cap or can you go past that?
40 is the hardcap yeah
I believe you would want to scale chaos damage, and then ignite magnitude/duration if you want to scale the ignite damage. Damage conversion happens before scaling, so you'd want to scale chaos instead of fire, however ignite magnitude/duration should still affect the damage because it is still an Ignite ailment. Since the spells are still fire spells, you should still be able to use things like infusions, so for example Firestorm should still be able to consume a fire infusion to increase its area of effect. Despair and Withered should work since they affect chaos damage taken and resistance. However, I don't believe effects like Contagion will work. I don't think Contagion currently works on the Blackflame unique ring, which also converts ignite to chaos damage, so Dark Effigy is probably also not compatible.
In terms of ascendancies to try, I'm considering Infernalist for themeing, Stormweaver for general spellcasting buffs and infusion support, or Acolyte of Chayula for chaos damage buffs without getting too far away from the keystone on the tree. I think I'm leaning towards Chayula.
So, the new chayula has a node with 1% Max darkness per 1% chaos res
Correct me if im wrong
But considering it doesn't specify uncapped res and ci gives 100% chaos res
Doesn't that mean u get 100% Max darkness from CI
Also, would darkness fall under global defences?
Well, yes it is immunity, but it gives your character 100% chaos res
CI doesnt give resistance
So that's just a poe1 thing?
So why does my char sheet get 100% chaos res in at least one of the games
you must have misremembered, it never gave resistances
Mmmm. I'll log on when I get home and see
Just tested it myself, it doesn't give you chaos resistance in either game. So to answer your question, no CI will not affect your Max Darkness.
Thanks yo!
To clarify
I didn't misremember
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3081914
It used to set it to 100% for visual purposes but doesn't anymore
oh okay, wasnt aware of that
but it always worked same way as just ignoring chaos damage that you would receive, it was just visual inconsistency
even then, it was only display and did not actually affect your resistance, they changed it when things that scaled off your chaos resistance were added to avoid the confusion.
Is toxic domain supposed to function like TR, and it can proc the pods itself? Or need a second skill to do anything?
Yeah it's a good change , cwith how ci works is separate to res and this makes it clear
I guess I've played so much of poe1 it bled into my understanding of poe2
is there anything that lets me scale my damage off dex? Howa gives attack speed but that's all i know
scale off dex or accuracy, i guess
Pillar of the caged god Quarterstaff, and huntress ascendancy dex/accuracy stacking for crit are some others also
crit caps out somewhere, right?
does any build wizards know if chayula would be viable for league start? been wanting to run one since it was announced lol
at 100% crit chance
probably we need to see whole tree first to know

I can almost guarantee it’ll be strong
it might’ve even been over buffed
why do you say that? (genuinely curious, I want to play chayula if I can)
I assume its got something to do with the volatility node
Guaranteeing purple flames is a huge damage boost
undeniably, but doesnt each remnant still have their own separate fade-away timer
The only real downside in the changes is the loss of ES leech
They should yea, no words that’s been changed but it’s not hard to maintain as it is and looks like a net gain in generation
What u guys think whats gonna be S tier league starter?
honestly? I think shockwave totem warbringer will be insane but I refuse to play totems
personally I think i will go with smith of kitava, than see how other builds develop with all the changes
Just curious I wanted to play X bow and then later a poison or bleed build not utilizing x bow necessarily. Can Deadeye or Ranger pull off just as good or better x bow builds than mercs? Since Poison will be pathfinder for my other spec later I can still utilize Ranger for xbow and not be outshined by Mercenaries?
How does sprinting work in demon form? That might be the reason why they didnt add the new shapeshifter class because they would need to sprinting animations for the shapes as well
Does Decaying Hex currently work with Blasphemy?
No
Think the new high velocity pseudo impale damage will apply to each projectile of fragmentation rounds?
since they combine into a single hit it's hard for me to say, not sure how this works with stuff like flame wall etc
I believe they talked about that directly in the qa
in the video?
They explicitly used shotguns as an example to exploit high velocity rounds
Oh that's big
So check this out. Impale on blood hunt. Use HVR to consume the impale and use frag to bleed the target
Also have you guys looked at the new poison conc. It's like blood hunt on steroids no?
Hollow Palm - would you still convert thep hysical damage based on the skill using?
Is blackflame poison ignite a thing
Where you scale a ton of chaos dot and your fire spells both ignite and poison
yeah
With all the cool changes am I crazy to want to play skeletal snipers this league 😂😂😂. Minion accuracy changes making me feel like it would be way better now. Running around with 30 skele snipers
Accracy only applies to melee minons
Nvm
Just reread it
Its all minons
Kinda crazy then
Im just glad of the changes so i can try out my tri element sorc again
What are your rough plans?
what ascendancy would this be?
the interesting thing for black flame covenant for me was the potential to proliferate ignites with contagion, but with the change to easy ignites from solar orb/flamewall unsure how useful that will be
Are Ballistas looking turbo nerfed or are all those nerfs supposed to be balanced out by the "they now use your weapon" change?
what makes sense is they're turbo buffed with a high end weapon.
Yeah they're likely buffed high end, and you can do stuff like howa totems/giga damage rings for totems
but they won't just be a guaranteed damage source for campaign for attack builds independent of weapon drops
Is mirage archer bow only? Patch note says projectile attacks. Surely it doesn't work with spears, crossbows, grenades, concoctions? Molten blast?
Probably running/ trying to make painters servent work
Im really curious how this new ignite works its a shame we cant try it out before the new leagues up
Does the sunder change mean youll be able to spam it like in poe1?
You could do that anyway
Do you mean in an attack speed sense
Well, be able to move i guess
Cuz yeah its way faster
only reason i didnt use it since it locks you in place
And cant be cancelled (while still going off)
Is there already an estimate what good league starting builds will be, or is it to early?
id bet on hollow palm monk being pretty solid
i didnt even try to check hollow palm, i cant imagine a build without weapon being good late game, balance-wise...
and i'll probably regret 😂
Demonform had no weapon and did just fine, concoctions even after nerf could still do pretty much everything
given concoctions used deepest tower
demonform was more a bug than a feature
It makes all quarterstaff skills scale damage like spells
Even without snapshotting it was fine
yes i just mean, why a build sparing half its budget be as good as a weapon one
The only thing HPT misses out on is + skill levels
wish we could see the passive tree before launch
You're just moving your budget to buying expensive EVA gear
At crazy budgets itll probably be objectively worse
yeah true, EVA might be the 0.1 ES
Do we know what Crackling Palm does
Hasnt been updated on poedb yet
Damn theres some uniques from Dawn i didnt know about
I thought Mind of The Council got cut before release
And what do you MEAN there's a quiver that summons frogs
How does one gain a fire infusion..
Support gem?
I wonder how good Nebuloch Perfect Strike with Perfected Endurance will be
In the 3.0 patch notes it says for some of the skills if they consume a fire infusion they'll do xyz.. where does one fet a fire infusion to consume haha
Snapping solar orb
Wait.. wdym by snapping? Like casting a fireball at it?
No, you cast the spell Snap(used to be cold snap) on your solar orb and it generates a fire infusion
There are other ways but idk them from the top of my head
Ohhh sweet thanks!!
Anyone trying the new fire skills on the warrior?
🌺 Hiii! I'm a casual exile and was wondering if this was the place where I posted the character or spell I wanted to play and the people here help make the build for me?
did shockwave totem just get gutted?
If people dont here, usually i check poe ninja for a skill and see what people are doing with it
Or just straight up searching on youtube
some website like maxroll have decent guides to follow if youre newer
Do es recharge nodes affect life recharge from eternal youth
It still has scaling...we've had a form of this in poe1 for years
Uh that's not how it really works unless you find some kind soul out there willing to spend hours making a build for you for free
do we know how + proj will interact with arc? will it just get +1 chain?
Need to see the gem or updated patch notes
i kinda wanna try arc deadeye
Why does blood hunt do so much damage?
Has anyone done extensive testing with Whirling Slash + Explosive Spear? I'm trying to plot out a alternative to Incinerate. I usually level with those 2 until I can use Incinerate, but I haven't tried to see how much the transferred Explosive Spear can be scaled with what damage mods, etc
And I've never understood if Ice/Lightning Whirling Slash snapshots transfer their own damage bonuses or if it's purely DOT
explosive spear's ignite won't compare to the incinerate ignite
why do an ignite whirling slash build at all
do a regular whirling slash build or a twister build
I'm sure it won't but does it scale at all in a similar way?
idk if lightning/cold works now
it would scale from the ignite just like it did with incinerate
you just won't deal damage, but it will scale in a similar way
Three Dragons looks to be an option
use a frozen ground spell and scale it from there maybe
Maybe Incinerate Whirling Slash will still be viable, but late in the endgame
sounds complicated
this is my first league from start... when 0.3 builds start showing up on maxroll/mobalytics?
most of them are already out there, since 2.0
you just have to add some new support gems and what not
It's already complicated, spell is probably going to be the only decent way to scale Whirling Slash damage because it has flat damage
i want to read a guide for a monk hollow fist build
just do a whirling slash build, like add the lightning to it with the unique boots and that's it
1 day before
add rapid assault and blood hunt to it
ty!!
so you can do this combo while inside a whirling slash
Saw a lot of whirling slash builds that just hit like a wet noodle, or hit hard but move slow. I wanted to try and retain a lot of the speed of the speed stacker whirling slashes out there while still having great bossing and simu effectiveness.
Without further ago, here it is!
Build Guide: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/l33hi007
Discord: http...
Yeah, until the new passive tree, supports and uniques are revealed, it's not going to be a good guide anyways.
Yeah, but then what's the point of WS?
it deals damage and lets you move around faster
just watch the video
beware the combo support gem was nerfed, I forgot in what way
Welcome to poe.
I watched that and many other videos before. I'm kinda set on figuring out a spell version of it that uses WS snapshot as the damage source tbh, I know, I know, might be a lost cause
I'm not hedging all my bets on it though since there's a new damage aura skill anyways hehe
maybe if you switch to a second weapon set with + to skills and spam some curse or some spell that consumes lots of mana
you can charge up your incinerate very quickly and just do your incinerate WS build
incinerate is now way stronger
Yeahhhh, I'm definitely going to try it out. Ball Lightning can create burning ground now too, so maybe that will be a sufficient replacement
Essence Drain / Contagion is going to be a great build still anyways, so I will probably start with that. The new Incinerate dynamics and other stuff might end up making it just feel like too much of a chore for the build to be fun to play lol. It's already pushing it, gear swapping and then waiting for the Elemental Conflux, and then swapping back.
Is there a website that allows me to search for every single source of a given modifier? Like I'm searching by modifier itself so for example I want "life recovery rate" and it would show me all items, skills, passive tree, etc etc etc EVERY source of "life recovery rate" in one easy search
do you think there is gonig to be a viable cold deadeye build or do you think deadeye has to have some lightning or it wont be good
I mean I expect lightning to be better because chain is the best damage propegation method for clear, but cold is probably playable with the new skills
i wonder if a lightning build with call of the brotherhood ring would be cool...
Is there anyway to scale ailment duration at the moment?
The only real thing that hits every ailment at once would be Temporal chains
Question. Anyone know what the devs did to generate a shit ton of twisters in the reveal?
quick one, how do we feel about xbow deadeye? i know everyone is talking about de but still-
passive tree damage other than minion damage doesnt affect minions by default right?
so taking freeze buildup also wouldnt affect minions?
Does Talisman Of Egrin combo with Blasphemy? Or do you have to cast the curse?
Tornado with whirlwind slash
Is it possible to inflict two shocks with the same hit when using Stormweaver's Strike Twice notable?
Also, if you use a skill that consumes shock, like Siphoning Strike, on an enemy that has two shocks on them, does that skill consume both at the same time?
Anyone theorycrafting on new int skill gem Frost darts?
thinking about it with amazon ascendancy
have any numbers for the frost darts been shown anywhere?
Doew ne1 know a large Area of affect damage over time skill. That's ground effect or centered on your exile. Like whirling slash but damage over time, or like poe1's coldsnap or vortex.
I usee the incinerate whirling slash last season, but ik not 100% sure that will work in 0.3 because changes to incinerate
And possibly whirling slash snapshot, which now has to be done with whirlwind Lance
For LA deadyes in dawn, what do they do for bossing? (ive not played bow builds in poe2)
i dont mean stuff like uber arbiter etc
but map bosses, trials, etc
Does this increase the physical damage for shield skills or is this applied after?
after, shields get damage from just the number on the shield
darn
think its possible to use mirage archer with things like oil grenade on 2nd weapon only to apply the debuff? For example, on a 2h mace warrior
lightning rod tornado shot, lightnimg arrow
lightning rod on mirage archer is gonna be nice i bet
If I'm reading the ignite changes right, you can essentially prime the target to be ignited with any fire damage, but then once they are fully flammable you have to carefully hit them with a big hit for an ignite that deals damage?
can high velocity rounds be good? idk how u would build it and what u would do for clear?
does cluster grenade shotgun?
I think now the goal with HVR is to debuff enemy,, and then use something fast hitting to hit them as many times as you can during debuff duration
so perhaps HVR -> rapid fire?
but you need to break armor
So Break armor -HVR - Rapidfire?
yes and no. you can hit enemy with multiple mini grenades yes. But the spread is VERY wide.
can you reduce the radius with reduced aoe or something? still seems good. its 18x greandes and i think u can multi proj it to like 4-5 grenades + 2 casts or something
so each cast is like 90 attacks, maybe only 30 hit or something thats still insane for HVR
well even if u cant it still seems like it might be good. idk
you can test it on live now
Anyone trying anything with arc?
just cut a gem
but idk how u clear on crossbow now cause they nuked galvanic thing from orbit?
It probably works fine against most bosses since they have large hitboxes
Tooty: Cluster clears well
wouldnt the cooldown make it annoying though?
it does
ive never played merc at all so
so you use other nades too
i see
Shotgun clear potential looks to be going up imo with the double barrel changes
Since they are combining it with auto reload
when can we see the new tree please ?
theres a shotgun?
I mean there are 4 shotgun skills atm.
Fragmentation Rounds
Incendiary Shot
Permafrost Bolts
Galvanic Shards
oh
All skills with clipsize 1 firing different kinds of shotguns. To make them clear you need to figure out how to bypass reloading. New Double Barrel 3 is a really straight forward path to that
can i make crossbow work on deadeye with grenades? i feel like deadeye is so much better
and what is double barrelk?
Sure, deadeye is great with any projectile skill
what does new double barrel do?
i see
