#2┃build-planning

Can someone give me a few general archtypes of builds for warrior? I don't want to look up builds directly, but Warrior skills and ascendancies seem all over the place with no clear themes to make a build around.
themes: bonk, totem, bonk, fire, bonk, physical damage, bonk, armour break, bonk, life stacking, bonk, stun buildup
also I assume you mean using maces, but you could just do a different thing instead
ok what the shit: Ambrosia and Potential both say "consume on use," but Ambrosia seems to do nothing, and Potential consumes a power charge every time you make an attack with the Charged Staff buff active
janky
On normal rare gloves, you can roll 1-71 flat added lightning damage, so the absolute minimum to be better is 160 int. But you’re also giving up the other 5 affixes you would get on rare gloves so you have to decide how much those lost affixes are worth
I would also add the other two flat mods (let’s say phys and fire) to that, which brings the total added flat damage up to around 100. That means you need 400 int minimum, and that’s just to keep up with rare prefixes, not suffixes
In general howa is rarely good anymore, it got triple tapped with nerfs
Howa is very usable as a dps stopgap imo, it’s just not bis
if flat added rounds up to 100 damage just 100 int is enough to outscale that
since its 1-10 flat lightning per 10 int
also adding in the +15% more max lightning notable helps
it's per 20 int after the nerfs
you're right
still the added 2% increased lightning damage per 10 int and 15% more max lightning help greatly tho
especially on lightning spear
also was it needed to nerf it that much
couldnt they have just sat on 15 int instead of 20?
GGG has a long history of triple tapping things that are overtuned, they go from meta defining to barely viable. Just how it is
Probably what they are trying to avoid is missing on nerfs and it still being meta strong, and then the meta is stale between two patches, which would feel bad
fair point
and I would normaly totaly agree with that except some skills are still meta same as release
so they are missing some nerfs or patches
are there? the only untouched strong thing I can think of is galvanic shards/shockburst rounds. there's probably more but that's the only one that comes to mind rn
I havent seen a whiff of ice strike this patch
People are still using it and lightning arrow pretty well
well it is 40% ish of monk players
did warrior totem get more used this patch compared to last patch or no?
I’ve heard people say they use totems but I haven’t seen a single build
probs not as primary skill
but I think its still mainly used as secondary
Which is a shame since we have Soul Mantle now
LA will probably always be viable due to the excellent range/coverage, but the dual herald nerf and lightning rod nerf moved it out of the clear skill meta. LA usage is probably more reflective of poor scaling/coverage of other bow abilities than the strength of LA at this point
imo bow also lacks fun skills
I can agree with that. They’d have to literally bury that skill to make it unusable
It’s really just LA/LR or Spiral volley + snipe
snipe and frost volley are the only ones I can think of the top of my hat that feel fun to play with
again opinion
How fun spiral volley is is a direct relationship to how easy frenzies are to get imo
can say its similar to lightning spear but its far easier to get frenzy on lightning spear imo
also the inate chain does help make it feel a lot better
And lightning spear only uses one charge as opposed to spiral using all of them at once
So you don’t need full charge generation uptime
flicker also has the same problem spiral has
Yeah if you run out, you kinda get screwed
no power charges = no flicker
combat frenzy is once evey 4 seconds
almost as if they are specificly trying to kill flicker related builds
Endurance charges from armor break + resonance gives good frenzy generation but it’s too rng for my taste
that does not sounds like it would run well on bow
It takes a couple shots of spiral volley to break the first armor but it does very well after that
how much armour break does gas arrow do?
does anyone have a non minion infernalist build?
most non minion infernalist scale demon flame for demon form
How can I proc shock easily on an enemy as Mercenary??
use any skill that generates shocked ground
Volt grenades didnt work that good I will try the shards
anyone have an opinion on which ascendency is best for a HC bonestorm witch build? i was considering lich but im not entirely convinced the not losing life while having ES is actually doing much besides protection from bleed and poison. bloodmage i feel like is dangerous against bosses since you can only get remnants every 2 secs off crit. invoker might be good for just the dmg boost. any thoughts?
I'm playing on controller and set blink only on the second weapon set, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. I just dodge, unless I manually switch to my other weapon set. Any tips?
how can I add a gem in Lich's ascendancy socket Crystaline Phylactrecy in PoB, when I spec into it, PoB does not add a socket
Crit mana stacking low life infernalist with MoM + EB is on my radar. Archmage and/or impending doom might be solid depending on how much mana you can stack.
You can basically run any skill you want as long as it can crit. With all three reservation nodes on infernalist you can be at low life 100% of the time and benefit from Pain Attunement's more crit damage
And also get a ton of mana, es (which is then turned into mana, and spirit
It might be very gear dependent, though. Getting good life, mana, and ES is pretty key
literally unrelated to this my friend gives me a fucking unique with pain attunement
lol
Crown of thorns? Get rid of it
why?
yeah but isnt that good for low life??
What level are you?
Lemme check exactly what that piece of garbage gives you
increase crit damage for low life, reduce it for full life
like you just said pain attunement is good
Yeah, and it makes you lose 5 life when you use a skill
Pain attunement is good when you can get to low life reliably
5 life
Being at low life with just crown of eyes to protect you is a death sentence.
And even if you could be constantly at low life, that helmet is absolutely terrible
doesnt sound like alot later on
By the time you're level 80+ and going low life, that helmet is worse than a white item
then why did you mention pain attunement?
Because the node on the tree doesn't cost your your helmet slot
oh thats a node?
oh i wasnt aware it was a node
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, my b, that's important info
so i saw you shitting on pain attunement so i was like "werent you just prasing it??"
Also if you take mind over matter, that 5 life lost from crown of thorns bypasses your mana and goes to life
Which might not be terrible, but still
It also has no resistances
how do you stay at low life?
Infernalist has three nodes that each reserve 25% of your life in exchange for a benefit
So you can't go permanently low life until you ascend four times which is pretty far along
ah.
i also need to save exalteds for thats cause im not typically good enough for those final asencsion runs
So you'd probably just go a more watered down version of the build until you could make a big swap to low life with MoM+EB (mind over matter and eldritch battery, two other keystones on the tree)
After your fourth ascension
is this 17??
Well you should ideally be managing resources with improvements in mind from square one, but I kinda get what you're saying. The fourth ascension is spooky at first, but it's totally doable with a solid build
Are you holding the button down?
also whats a way i can impliment echoing thunder easily?
like whats a skill that procs shock often?
no definitely just one press, it has a fairly long windup
Hold alt and click the shock keyword to read how it works
(also I gotta figure out my defenses I nearly ate shit as soon as that ended)
That was way more than 17 by my count
im saying whats a spell that does good shock?
ok Im not crazy
Anything that does lightning damage. For the campaign I like to run spark with acceleration and arcane tempo and also use orb of storms with conduction and persistence
Orb of storms does the shocking (usually) and spark spews damage and also procs the orb
Throw in flame wall with fortress support for even more oomph
Conduction support gives more shock chance
what should i take in infernalist until i can get all my ascendancy points?
Does anyone has a decent build for mercenary to clear T15 Maps? I’ve searched everything but can only find outdated builds
it only works for gain as not conversion
When you reach a ceiling, you start looking at atttack damage builds in poe 2 ninja then u see the majority of them have high int, howa, upper rolled astramentis, 140-180 damage rings etc
the lack of gearing diversity is baffling to reach higher stage. When I reached 100 000 dps lightning spear the upgrades would cost 20-100 divines orb per item lol
If you choose to play the meta build then be prepared it’s gonna be expensive
80 atlas boss are doable but 81 and above boss breach ritual and others are so much crazy time sink and costly. To not spend money I went with someone else as double kitavas's blacksmith ritual 82 took 30 minutes lol
Does allies in your presence from scepters count for yourself?
no
you are not your own ally
i guess its a good thing im build crafting myself since all the builds im seeing for lightning archer are all so vastly different in what nodes they take
Gathering storm creates shocked ground, but it isnt a spell though
You can do it with just 2 if you sac your belt, which isnt that high stakes of a slot
Do you guys use greater iron rune or crit bonus soul core for LS tangletongue?
I only have one crit bonus soul core I wanna be sure before I use it/trade it
do totems count as allies?
ball lightning might be best if you are okay with slowing the projectile speed to a snail's pace
how so?
Coward's Legacy
hello, is there an updated (0.2.0g) atlas talent point guide please? struggling to connect the dots from all these differing out of date guides from google
does attack damage effect my skill gems damage if its elemental or no? im just asking because im thinking attack is just plain damage boost unless im wrong
are veil of the night/kaoms heart setups just relying on deleting the screen before getting hit
i dont see how else you could survive
it says on the skill
if it's an attack or a spell
oh okay thanks! my lightning arrow is an attack so i guess ill take those nodes
When in doubt, hold alt and click on underlined keywords to read more about how they work
okayy thanks! im on my 4th run now and im experimenting different nodes since last 3 runs i did the same path and same supports
Your skills will be tagged with certain keywords, can be found by hovering the skill and reading the tags just under the name of the skill. For “attack damage” to scale a skill, the skill would have to have the tag “Attack”. So things like melee attacks and bow skills are considered attacks for the most part. Spells would not fall under this umbrella, and instead scale with things like “increased spell damage”.
Temper Weapon is still awful right?
yeah
How do I search for chaos bows? Example something like this, on trade site when I put in bow and then type chaos damage or chaos damage to attacks all the things I have tried and nothing comes up but when I search cultist bow it comes up with chaos damage, do I only have to search for specific bows with chaos damage?
ok ty
btw Cultist Bow > Adherent Bow > Fanatic Bow
real
that's your upgrade path
oh its the direction
i thought u were saying crude bow was better than everything else
its like the lowest base possible
ty ty
Also got another dumb question when something has reduced attack speed on it, is that your attacks being slower? So would you want the lowest roll possible on this?
yep
that's the real game
the fact that fire spells have like no ranged attacks till level 31 really bothers me
you can obtain lower-itemlevel bases that let you have access to generic fire spells earlier
how? ive never seen that
All wands, staves, and sceptres grant unique skills as an implicit modifier that are not typically found as gems. Certain unique items may also grant skills as an explicit modifier.
The level of the granted skill and the number of gem sockets the skill has is determined by the item's item level. The level and number of sockets cannot be modifie...
it's like vd and firebolt (weaker fireball)
does watch how i do it work on tactician now, heard it was bugged a while ago
is demon form on infernalist good?
anyone know of a way to force life recovery stats in pob2? trying to simulate this at certain HP values in POB2 but it doesnt seem supported
increase by hand in custom modifiers in config
What would I have to type specifically? I tried but it never worked
thanks!
can someone link me a good spin to win build either their pob or a creator's?
Hello, anyone know how to use Path of building to get the dps calculation on the Beira's Anguish Dowing charm?
Xd
gotta do that shit manually brother
dps is:
HP * (FireDmg+generic dmg) * (EffectiveIgniteMulti) * (DMGasExtra) * NegResist * DespairStacks
may be missing stuff
Anyone tried to build around spire of ire (chaos spear)
with corruption this can be 122%
but how it affect gameplay/builds? no difference between 100% and 122%?
i have 85% version
and on trade you can find 122%
100+ versions will not display any value but in fact they have it
if you step by step increase value on trade you will see less and less items in results
Good compared to what? And for what build?
This game often works in discrete steps
So in this case a 1.22x corrupt is still 1
Also cause it says “an” it likely wouldn’t improve even at 100%
there is no number specified so it cant be modified anyway
did you read what i told before
check trade you will see modified versions
from 78% till 122%
all I see is 82 to 100
with 100 being "gain a charge"
didnt know that a mods verbage can change like that
Wonder if it does double dip
need to test if this one (122% in fact) will give you 2 additional charges at 22% chance
Hello, I'm reviewing my support gems for cold snap, and I'm seeing lots of builds use soul offering but I cannot see anyway for them raise a skelly anyone know how they are using it
weapon swap to a rattling scepter
@karmic geyser that's all I can think off but I can't see it on the build... thanks 👍
tested many times, Serpent's Egg amulet description is wrong
- without amulet always +1 charge from pinning enemy, no other modifications to charges from tree, few classes tested
- with uncorrupted amulet always +3 charges on pin, means amulet providing +2
- with corrupted 79% amulet sometimes +2 charges, sometimes +3
how you can explain that?
Combat Frenzy skill 8 level without quality
Like is it worth the ascendancy points
the question still stands
And it seems like no, as the spell level increase does not stack with the ones on your wand/staff/focus
it depends on the build and what you value
Maybe at max level with some health regen, but not at base level early on
if your weapon(s) suck(s), then demon form can be pretty pog. It also comes with a movement speed boost, I think?
doesn’t seem like it
i tested Combat frenzy off, with amulet + unique topaz charm and all works like intended, +2 charges only
this means Serpent's Egg + Combat Frenzy combination is bugged and giving twice more charges than intended
Only with Mastered Darkness
And even then its a lot more questionable than last patch
Could it have possibly changed the chance to gain an additional charge from 100% to 79%?
The description of the uncorrupted would still be wrong
But it would explain what’s going on?
Anyone know if you still need Chance to Poison, even if using these gloves?
yes
they give 20-30% chance for a reason
bro why do I get frozen so much when I take chaos inoculation? I have a freeze charm and without CI, I rarely get frozen but when I take CI suddenly every attack freezes me
your ele ailment threshold is base off of your life
with ci your life is 1
as a result ailments will apply extremely easily
any way to supplement ele ailment threshold?
no, as i said, combat frenzy + amulet bugged, twice more charges than intended
Yes, that’s what I was saying too. I’m thinking the amulet gives 200% additional charges and you corrupted it to give 178% additional charges
only with frenzy, tested with spirit skill that provides power charges, its normal not 200%
Oh now that’s really interesting
Hey, what's the best class/ascendancy for a Twister based build currently?
"all damage from hits contribute to poison magnitude" means that its not only phys. and chaos damage that determine the poison damage, this gloves include elemental damage as well
Amazon and ritualist are both great, Amazon for its ability to build crit, and ritualist for its ability to have 3 rings all with high flat dmg rolls
shockwave totem with splinter(break armour equal to 15% of phys) along with this node would that improve their armour break?
confusing to know what applies to me, totems are weird
I want to make an aura/ curse bot, now do I focus on rarity as well for my group? Is it shared for everyone or it doesn’t work because technically I’m not killing anything?
There are nodes on the tree that give you "% of es gained as [stun or ailment] threshold". That's what you want
A lot of them are near CI
Normally your rarity wouldn't matter because you're not killing. In poe1 there was a pair of gloves that made all kills made by nearby allies get attributed to you, which made your rarity apply to party member kills. I'm not sure if those exist in poe2
They do
Totems inherit your global offensive stats
So it should work
I think there are gloves with "enemies killed in your presence count as your kill"
Gravebind Rope Cuffs
Gravebind, that's what they're called. Ty
They do thank you
Another route is to have your carry use something like a unique pair of gloves from poe1 that make it so they can only kill enemies that are frozen, then make sure their build never freezes and never does damage over time. Then the party member with loads of rarity uses a skill with a ton of coverage that also culls, so they get all the kill credit without needing to do any damage
hmmm is there a "best" liche build? Currently ~75 but was wondering if there's a really good build out there? Definitely not clearing/one shotting things like certain streamers with their Huntress. But assuming Lich won't be doing that.
Best in what way? There are so many ways to measure how good a build is in poe2
Question about Lich's Soulless Form: does it negate all buffs to Mana Regeneration?
No, it works with anything that affects mana regen, it just calculates your base rate differently
ok, so it makes base rate 0, but then the life-based rate is buffed by Mana Regen buffs?
No, it doesn't make your base rate 0
Your base rate by default is X% of your max mana per second (I forget the exact number). That node makes it instead based on Y% of your max life
Instead of your base rate being derived from max mana, it's derived from max life
Right, but then buffs to Mana Regeneration (not +(flat) Mana Per Second) will still apply, applying to the life-based rate, as opposed to the standard one
?
Correct
You still have a base mana regen rate and anything like "%inc mana regen" will still apply
Ok, awesome, thanks so much
I can see the values changing on my stat sheets when I modify gear, but wasn't 100% sure because some stuf is still wonky and may display as one thing but do another you know? cool cool cool
You can see which lich builds are the most popular among the highest level players on poeninja
hey guys does anyone know if this can be rolled when slotting timeless jewel?
https://poedb.tw/us/Eternal_Subjugation i can see icon is different than the one on poe1 db
but cant figure out how to get it
hey that seems pretty good right ?
what are good support gems for fireball?
What are you using it for?
damage, its my main damage rn in a crit build , im using inevitable crit rn
Single target? Aoe? Comboing with something else? Ignite?
i guess just yes? i dunno im just using it for anything right now as i dont have any other options
Lightning build help. If I use against the darkness that would allocates 20% extra damage as cold is that enough to constantly generate charges. I would like to run charged infusion and charged staff. Any help is appreciated
Then inevitable crit seems like a bad call. If you're using it regularly then that support is not going to get much value
i mean it brings my crit up like 8%
After how long?
like a second or 2, but im pretty sure it only goes back down if i crit
Yeah, but you're a crit build, that should be happening pretty often
Do you have access to flameblast yet?
no
Ah. Flameblast is a great skill for inevitable crit imo
If you're just spamming fireball to kill everything, I'd probably link it to arcane tempo and arcane surge. Those are like the go-to one-button spell spam supports
arcane surge doesnt work with infernal flame does it?
It won't help your ignite at all, but it sounds like that isn't your priority
or well
Oh, you're using infernal flame?
I see
Then here's what I'd do @dusky wadi :
Run two fireballs. Hell, maybe three.
One for clear:
Fireball + scattershot + fiery death
One for single target:
Fireball + concentrated effect + arcane tempo
One for extra oomph every few seconds:
Fireball + inevitable crit + unleash
do i just rely on crit chance boost from passives?
That's all you can do
Crit supports kinda suck until t3
Also fireball just kinda sucks for crit
It only has a 7% base crit
So until you can get to a high enough level where you can get a ton of crit chance passives, you're just kinda SOL
Maybe if you roll crit chance on your weapon and helmet it could be smoother
counterpoint, wildshards instead of fiery death
But with a base crit of 7% that's not gonna feel good in the campaign.
eyebleed time
It would be instead of scattershot
Scattershot adds 2 projectiles that already have a penalty
Wildshards would have a chance to make it +10 projectiles but they'd all be at a penalty
With scattershot it's effectively 1.56x more damage overall, assuming everything hits an enemy.
With scattershot + wildshards, it's effectively 1.56 (your base dps with all scattershots hitting) + (0.2 x 8 x 0.52). Wildshards is only adding another 0.832 total base damage per second for a total of about 2.5. And those projectiles go in all directions so you're going to get barely any of that value back out.
However,if you replace scattershot, you instead go from 1 base damage per second to 2.6. That's more than scattershot + wildshards already, PLUS you get another support
@dusky wadi
i mean scattershot + wildshards is pretty fun, im using it rn
Well you can't theorycraft fun I suppose
i mean im doing unleash with scatter shot and wildshards and its just funny
I would wager that wildshards is the fun part and you'd have even more by using fiery death with it. Explosions are very fun imo
its just that the explosions take forever
no it does the same thing as the "corpse expolsion" effect from mobs
what gear can you get crit chance on?
Helmet for sure, and I think arcane weapons
Maybe amulet and rings? You can check on poe2db
does critical hit chance apply for spells or does it specifically have to be SPELL critical hit chance?
depends on source
local no global yes
what does that mean?
so basically yes for eveything except the mod on a martial weapon
if it's something like "#% increased Critical Hit Chance" on a jewel or on the tree or on helm etc. it will work for spells
oh wait local inc crit doesnt even exist anymore
so that specific mod should always work for spells
ah okay, cause im doing a crit fire witch build
hey so i am trying to get a cast on minion death working with SRS and I am not sure why they spells i have slotted in arent working is CoM bugged or not working?
does spell physical damage work with crown of eyes or just spell damage
pob says no
expiration doesn't count, they have to actually die from running out of health
it's worth checking, rathpith had weird wording but still worked with crown of eyes (or at least the spell damage portion of it did, not the crit)
but probably not
Cast on Minion Death only works on Persistent minions, which SRS are not
instability blowing them up counts according to wiki but I haven't played it since .10
Hey! is anyone doing the ritualist whirlwind build? Also is the build better as lightning or frost or fire?
which sorceress build should i pick ? i'm currently using contagion and essence drain as my main dps abilities
can I scale poison damage with chaos damage?
other than deceleration how do you make ball lightning slower?
how tf do you build gemling defenses
doesnt get sorcery ward, and tree starting spot is sort of disadvantageous for ev/es
if I get 75% of damage converted to fire and a skill has 80% damage converted to lightning do I just do less damage then with avatar of fire?
yes
if you are stacking str, you can just use life. otherwise it is pretty much mandatory to path right to get access to ev/es nodes
in theory if you are an int stacker, you could also use the partial mind over matter unique chestplate, Cloak of Defiance
and then use a bunch of jewels with % damage taken from mana before life
any way I can convert to fire outside of avatar of fire, timeless jewel or gem conversion?
the old gemling int stack lightning rod build from 0.1 used mana stacking for max hit, so should be functionally similar
Only gem conversion would be useful, that applies before the tree
Actually now that I think about it, since the conversion effects "apply simultaneously" then getting 25% damage to fire in global modifiers should happen at the same time as avatar of fire, so that could in theory be useful. But it really depends on how "Deal no Non-Fire Damage" is coded
But I don't think there are any "25% damage convert to fire" in global modifiers in the game anyway
trying to get as close to 100% fire conversion as possible
on skills that already have convert to another element
can't do this unfortunately
actually wait sorry, it's skills and then tree, so it should be the same damage?
example
Since the converted lightning still counts as "damage"
freezing salvo has 80% phys converted to cold
avatar of fire converts 75% of that and phys damage to fire
That does seem like it should work
still leaves me with some damage loss
hmm
other than 15% phys to fire timeless jewel and avatar of fire 75% of damage converted to fire
think I'd still miss out on 10-15%
like in tooltip?
nah just doing math in my head
this timeless jewel doesn't exist in the game btw
data mine only
poedb has a lot of data mine items that don't exist in the game
still I'd miss out on 25% then
only kalguuran timeless jewels exist, which are implicit attribute keystone modifiers
unless phys to fire and phys to cold are seperated
yep, that's avatar of fire
Note that conversion is a base modifier, so you do get to just scale % increased fire as opposed to other multi-elemental builds which don't get to do that
That's why it has a downside
I get that but you can 100% convert to any other element including chaos but not fire
you can only 100% convert a specific element to another specific element, or yes original sin but it's very expensive (and only works for elemental damage, not phys)
avatar of fire is every type of damage to fire, which is a much wider scope
cant even 100% fire convert without skill gem conversion is sad
yeah, hopefully they add one. it's the one conversion they forgot to add
or maybe they felt that Avatar of Fire was good enough
had hoped I could play a fire based salvo build but geus not unless I dont mind losing damage
what annoint do people runon Aziz typically btw
guys if I add infusion to weapon and then slot it with the gem that gives physical damage will that affect my dmg?
so my question is does the physical gem add before the infusion conversion or after that
which infusion? charge infusion or fire/cold/lightning infusion? and which physical gem?

that's a spirit gem tho
but which phys gem?
idk any phys increase support but Brutality, and Brutality makes your skill deals no elemental damage
does avatar of fire affect totems?
Does infuse weapon use the damage of the attack or of the weapon?
I mean, it seems relatively safe to assume it's the weapon
can you gain glory via minions/companions?
weapon, and "adds x damage" as well
Yeah, I suppose it would've been more precise to ask whether it was it's own attack
Thanks
yes
no
https://poe2.ninja/pob/6695 can someone help me with build
16k armour, still feeling like i reduce nothing, should I go evasion of ES ?
Armor+Energy shield would be most effective
Armor gets less effective the bigger the hit is, that makes big hitpool still necessary.
might help
how do I search for those on trade? Like how do I find chaos damage on bows, when I go and add chaos damage on the right nothing comes up and the bow in the left pic will not show up if I put it as enchant
search base type
you mean like the actual weapon name in top left?
in your case search for a cultist bow
they have base chaos dmg
yeah the issue with that is then I miss out on bows like this that have chaos damage on them
that’s from vaaling
so like top regular bow with chaos enchant vs top damage cultist bow, its a pretty big difference
Yeah I get that, but if I wanted like any other weapon its not an issue finding it if its physical damage
Cultist bow is kinda trash as a base
like I can do crit and all the other stuff, but for chaos its not an option
so I guess it depends on what purpose you are looking for chaos bows for
for sure
You’d have to go into stat filter, enchantment, chaos damage
Yea because it’s looking for the Vaal’d ones
yeah prob
was just curious if there a way to add it to the top column, will figure something out
Maybe as a count
Why do i feel like i'll buy a grand regalia again
I think a rare chest with Armour/ES can get insane stats aswell.
I am pathfinder, I recently got my hands on a chest with 3k evasion.
hello guys im 95 level LS deadeye. I was following fubguns build but I feel like its outdated and I have total 100 divine rn can you guys send me any build that I can follow. I dont like using rhoa
Maxroll and/or mobalytics are probably the build collections I'd recommend. Or YouTube guides. Idk of any YouTube guides for LS deadeye off the top of my head though.
16k armour reduces physical hits of 1.6k by half
I looked that up maxroll have fubguns and there is people in poe2ninja but since im new at the game I cant understand which one is better should I look max damage in poe2ninja or something else.
Do not go by damage in poeninja. It's highly unreliable
If the only issue is that you don't like using rhoa, why not just swap it out with another spirit gem?
You don't need a whole new build because you don't like rhoa
I was using fubgun build like that. but I feel like my damage is not enough anymore for party play
and since he is not playing the game I tought there would be better builds
Is it a problem with the build or with your gear?
i dont think its problem with my gear tbh I have headhunter sacred flame etc and my ring looks like this
Is headhunter the recommended belt for the build? I wasn't sure how good HH was in poe2
Do you have a well-rolled Tangle tongue?
and I have questions like should I go for 18 level skill sacred flame so I can have less int and more dex. or 19 level skill sacred flame is better
in fubgun build he using headhunter
I can buy better one
tbh I dont know the game much and I dont understand the mechanics in build. I just want a guide that I can follow so I can do maps much faster sometimes I cant oneshot rares
If your problem is that "sometimes you can't oneshot rares" then you're beyond the scope of help I can provide lol
I just sold headhunter and bought this
Your next step is to learn the game's mechanics enough so that you can analyze poeninja builds and see what you can borrow to make your own build better
That should massively help, yeah
head hunter gives nice stats but that random tp's are so boring
🥲 I just wanna copy a build and smashhhh
Well as long as you copy them correctly, poeninja has lots of builds for the taking. The only issue is that you won't know how good they are until you try them
wish there was a deadeye LS player I can watch...
I guess I'd check twitch and YouTube then
Its so puny
anyone know definition of near?
Its when you are inside the orb, which has a base radius of 2.8m.
are legionstrider boots, quarterstaves and shield the only sources of block chance?
when it comes to flat block chance anyways
trying to find one
Rearguard quiver as well. Probably some more
looking for something with innate block chance that is not an offhand or weapon
other than boots I havent found one
Guys should I go Incinerate Pathfinder or Lich?
Does original sin ring also convert elemental damage from heralds into chaos damage?
yes
Does anyone know how to calculate hit chance with this node on PoB? I've selected it on the tree & set distance to enemy to 100 units , but the hit chance value doesn't update
Its red, it wont calc
ahh, unfortunate
And im not sure how to estimate it tbh
Is the reduction a flat -30% do you know? i.e. going from 90% max penalty -> 60%
Ty, trying to figure out how to scale the chaos damage. Do i just keep adding more chaos damage to everything or should i be full sending elemental damage and if it is elemental is it better to pick one and scale it or try for multiple elemental damage types
conversion happens before any buffs to damage type
so if you are converting to chaos you need to buff chaos damage
Well like if i took more passives for lightning damage would that scale the chaos damage on my passive tree?
no
thats what i mean
conversion happens before damage buffs
if you convert 100% of your damage to chaos then if you are increasing lighning damage it will do nothing
because you do no lightning damage
What about with voltaxic bow?
If it would be that easy pob should be able to calculate that. So i guess it must be more complicated.
Ok so then it’s only scaling the chaos and the elemental do not matter hmmm
pretty much yeah
you still can shock, but with chaos damage
chaos damage nodes are on the top side of the tree
That was my assumption/worry as well =/ alright, thank you!
Yeah i took them all
what ascendancy are you
Chonk
You could Use precision support on one of your buffs for some flat accuracy rating.
yeah I have it already, was just seeing if I had any easy options for higher chance to hit at max distance penalty since LS hits targets off screen constantly
And I dunno how effective this node is exactly
I am penniless and my ice mage is a turd, any suggestions? https://poe2.ninja/profile/character/17icjdc7rf237/Iamsosingle-1560/GutsHunts
https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/d83b704b Can anyone give me some advice on improving this build?
It's a SSF Mercenary build using only Armour-Piercing Rounds. I can almost do t15 maps but lacking survivability atm which is more of a gear issue, but I'm thinking the passive tree could also be improved. I just don't know how, I had to make this build myself because I haven't seen anything like this anywhere else. Any advice, especially with the passive tree, would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend Fork over Chain for mapping with apr. because you have the ward and consistent uptime on scavenged plating I might recommend going harder into armour and taking some warrior nodes, since armour is actually effective in maps with scavenged plating and dovetails well with ward.
Ah Fork did indeed turn out to be really good, I was having a bit of trouble killing rares with Chain. I'll also try to get more armour but I'm just not entirely sure what to respec out of on my tree
Does killjoy interact with herald of blood?
Getting more life on gear is always a big deal for survival, I would unspec backup plan and the 10 nodes you have running toward ranger at the beginning. Keep in mind fresh clip is really good and all the nodes that drop attack speed reduce your reload and reduce the damage boost from fresh clip.
Probably still worth having one or two of the juiciest but probably not lots
Backup plan? I don't see a node with that name. But by the 10 nodes I assume you mean the ones going into Heavy Ammunition and Careful aim?
Oh I see it now, is it really a bad node considering I'm only using 2 points to get to it?
Which class should i go for with sorceress ?
or rather, should chronomancer be used if i'm going with lightning/drain essence ?
Stormweaver offers nothing for EDC
Well besides ES recoup i guess
Chronomancer also lets you use the very nice Expanse and Hourglass supports on Contagion and Essence Drain respectively
EDC?
Essence Drain Contagion
i got an edc question....
what is better for wand attributes
- higher spell/chaos % dmg but lvl4 chaos lvl
- lesser spell/chaos % dmg but lvl5 chaos lvl
what is the difference in spell/chaos %
Gain 28% of Damage as Extra Fire Damage
48% increased Spell Damage
45% increased Chaos Damage
20% reduced Attribute Requirements
+5 to Level of all Chaos Spell Skills
12% increased Critical Spell Damage Bonus
vs.
99% increased Spell Damage
75% increased Chaos Damage
+28 to maximum Mana
+4 to Level of all Chaos Spell Skills
+29 to Intelligence
Gain 84 Life per Enemy Killed
im not sure which would be best. easiest way to check would be PoB
Pob is the only way to say for sure
Depends on how much other %inc damage you have on the tree as well
tried it but how can i see the true dmg?
nevermind
there is a dropdown menu for DoT
lvl 5 > % dmg
Can anyone confirm if Movement Speed buffs the speed of Rake-dashing? (Rake+Buckler canceling to zip around)
I can't tell from my little bit of testing I've done
Is Rising Tempest just 36% more damage if you put it on a skill with the Cold Fire and Lightning tags
Or does the skill its on not count
I'm not sure. The way it's worded could be interpreted as you get 12% more damage for each skill used recently with a different elemental type than the one it's supporting. Eg, if you use fireball with rising tempest and cast 5 ice novas in the last 4 seconds, the fireball would deal 60% more damage
assuming the wording is correct it would only be 12% because you are only casting "a" spell
maybe if you cast it twice you get another 12% and so on
My understanding was you get up to 36%, 12% for each element
Like even if you use 10 cold skills you only get 12% for the Cold part
Otherwise itd be like a 200% more damage support
The wording is "for each skill used recently...*
yeah so a singluar cast is one skill
It depends entirely on what "of a different elemental type" means. Does it mean
A. For each skill used recently of a unique elemental type
B. For each unique elemental tag among the skills used recently
C. For each skill used recently with a different elemental type than the supported skill

Does anyone have some good resources for support builds/ aura bots. I know snap on YT has a few guides and I’ve tried my hand at making a couple this league. I’m sure they aren’t super optimized though
Does this cook
Quecholli + Leap Slam + Shocking Leap
Level 3 Enfeeble + Burning Inscription
Elemental Sundering + Valako's Vice(?)
Or is that too much trouble just for 2 ground effects
It counts if there separate versions. I use it with elemental infusion and get free 24% more dmg
Bc each infusion has its own tab
Does anyone know if indigon works with blood magic?
Life isnt Mana
does anyone know how the interaction works when you wear call of the brotherhood AND whisper of the brotherhood rings?
Your cold becomes lightning, your lightning becomes cold
They arent recursive
so i cant scale lightning and cold nodes if i wear both?
no
your cold becomes lightning, whch scales with lightning but not cold
lightning becomes cold, which scales with cold but not lightning
so your scaling is split regardless
ok thanks
Does anyone know if Movement Speed buffs the movement of Rake?
It would inflict two separate ignites which would not stack their damage unless you had some way to do that. Idk if it's possible in poe2
i cant find out where to see this in PoB so asking here, but wouldnt Armour Explosion deal zero damage with Avatar of Fire since it converts 100% phys to fire for the explosion?
no, it would deal full damage
really? but it shouldnt have any physical damage to convert with avatar of fire, no?
so what, then that clause just does nothing
it doesnt suddenly make you deal no damage
you deal 100% fire, so it checks the deal no non fire damage clause, and all is good
Voltaxic rift poisonbusrt arrow, currently have a pathfinder in act three that I'm building towards this idea
Does it seem like it's viable is there already a build for it?
Nomenclature question
So I know more is a different part of the equation than increased, but is extra also another one? As in extra modifies the equation after increased and more are already taken into account?
gain/conversion happens before percentage damage modifiers. that is, if you convert (e.g.) physical damage to cold damage, then physical damage modifiers will not apply but cold damage modifiers will
(and if it wasn't clear, gain and conversion work exactly the same way as each other, except conversion removes the old damage and gain does not)
its after any mods to flat damage (including local mods on your weapon, global mods like amazon penetrate, rings, quiver, and gloves), and before any inc/more mods
So it comes in earlier is what you're saying
Gotcha, thanks guys
So it's actually lower on the totem pole, not higher
yeah
correct
https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Receiving_damage
this is a good article if you want to know order of operations stuff
covers everything
find out good abuse with frenzy stacker build
- cast barrage
- see the counter (20 in my case) on the barrage skill
- use skill that benefits from it
- let it fire almost all projectiles and then roll dodge in the end
- counter on Barrage after roll dodge will still be the same (20)
- repeat projectile skill again and again (can be another skill each time)
- until Barrage itself will go on cooldown
- use until it will be fixed
- i was able to repeat it 5 times per barrage cast, 5 x 18-19 repeats of same skill, very fun
Thanks!
I’m running a str stacking smith rake lvl 89 HC. I see almost everyone running trampletoe (so am I) but like why? It’s basically all garbage stats minus its effect
Is the effect really that much needed /OP as opposed to other boots with more ms and defenses/ attributes?
Anyway to achieve high crit chance with crossbows?
how much crit chance is needed for deadeye LS + WSF? is 100% too much?
nothing is too much, make sure your double-crit chance is 100 or close if you use tangletounge
i finally got to reach that and i thought i was overdoing it 🤣
hey im trying to make a cast on crit with frostbolt but PoB isnt showing my crit rate on it. any ideas?
i have solved it. i am big dumb. i have controlled destruction on
is there anything that works like grim feast right now that i can use for my sorc
so i can boost up my energy shield
Does Reverberate support take into account attack speed increase/skill speed increase or does it only calculate aftershock chance based on the base cast speed?
I'm thinking of making a unconventional build but I'm not sure if I can reach 100% aftershock chance
is pyromantic pact worth it?
why is crescendo support recommended for primal strikes when the 3rd hit would consume the shock
goddamn attributes make me feel like I'm playing jenga with my build, I try to upgrade one item and everything falls apart because of these insane attribute demands
how do buffs and debuffs stack in this game?
If they have the same name, they do not stack unless otherwise specified
Can someone explain quick what Reduced Ignite duration means? So would that be less time the enemy is ignited? Am I overthinking it? Why would I want that if it is
Those mods can be usefull if you have something happening when the effect expires but i know no effect like that on ingite in poe2
I would imagine that a stat like that would only exist as a drawback to balance out a strong upside. What are you seeing that grants reduced ignite duration?
But yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Reduced time ignited and thus reduced total damage per ignite (if it's not being refreshed)
blackflame ring
I am playing a chonk monk and looking at options to convert full ele damage to chaos
yeah so I would want a low roll on it thne?
Aye
that is what I am mainly confused about the percentage
ok ok makes sense
ty
while I got you here, does anyone know a way to automate firestorm?
Put it in any cast on X meta gem
Also you said you wanted to convert ele to chaos, but blackflame only makes your Ignites do chaos * damage. Why exactly do you want to do ele to chaos conversion?
yeah I have original sin
I am just testing stuff, I have options, the bow, the spear the quiver etc
can always do lighting arrow or lightning spear and turn it into a chaos build
just trying to see if there is any other fun stuff I could do so exploring fire
ls so boring
If you use original sin you cannot inflict ignite unless you have a way to make your chaos damage ignite
yes
So blackflame would be useless
that is why I am trying to figure out how to make the chaos damage ignite
I see
so trying to figure out how I can get a skill that does chaos damage to ignite
Does a 2% increase in attack speed on weapon make a lot of difference when using Whirling Slash for movement ? The price difference seems to be quite a lot of Divines
prob not worth the price, but attack speed on weapons is local and therefore essentially a more mult on attack speed
Bringer of flame is the only thing i know doing something similar ?
so i was thinking if doing a fireball one click build from scratch on hcssf but idk which ascendancy to pick
Yeah I think that's all. So you'd need an infernalist party member to make it work lmao
There is a ring that turn the ignite damage into chaos dmg, but i think that happens just AFTER ignite got applied by fire ?
Well what other stuff do you want it to do?
ignite always deals fire though
Not with blackflame
if you cant deal fire you cant deal ignite
wrong
they TAKE chaos
the ignite still deals fire
same reason why you cant do avatar of fire poison with plaguefinger
poison always is always baseline chaos damage
huh havent thought about it, but to be honest fast mapping and be able to do bosses (burst or not is fine to me) but i do want most of the build to be just spam fireball
like i dont wanna tickle bosses and have 5 minute fights but i also dont need instant one tap bosses
@dawn spire In the Church of Stormwaver we were talking bout a LW/BL build, I'd actually like a way to generate BL by CoS and/or Energy Invocation and just spam LW instead of using em both. Since i started using LW because i saw you talking bout it as a good AoE. Do you have any idea bout that mabbe ?
I was tempted to summon you in that channel really, but then passed on that 😐
I mean, you need to have a ball lightning or a cullable enemy to start the reaction
sounds like it's time for me to shill for my mana regen stacking incinerate pathfinder with cast on ignite
you hold down incinerate, but you can cast whatever you want with cast on ignite
never heard of cast on ignite
but maybe?
idk i just really like fireball but im scared it wont be good alone
incinerate massively lowers fire resist, cast on ignite automatically triggers spells when you ignite stuff, and incinerate ignites stuff CONSTANTLY
hmm okay! can it be done very early game?
obviously not fireball since its end of act 2 but the premise of it
cast on ignite is like a level 12 or 13 spirit gem, so no
is Giant's Blood usually end game only? (I'm SSF atm) just wondering shield is needed to do red maps?
nothing is "needed" but shields are very good
will Warrior have a hard time without a shield in T15s?
depends on how you build it
block is a very strong defensive resource tho
especially for warbringer
so it's very hard to use Giant's Blood in SSF since you need Str on most pieces as possible?
hmm okayy ill test with it! i just need a ascendancy, i was gonna do infernalist but... chronomancer also looks cool
if you're gonna be going incinerate, I highly recommend pathfinder
they have 50% less movement penalty while channleing
well, while using any skill
Would you recommend Giant's Blood in SSF?
I have no idea, I've never tried it
alright, cheers.
I will say
using a low level 2h with +melee gems and going for shockwave totem or something
might be solid
you get high +lvl of gems
without high str req
ok
sorry, osrs is a demanding game at times
ranger again....
hard to type
based i love osrs
I mean, there are like over a dozen ways to build any skill
incinerate with cast on ignite is just one
and pathfinder is very good for it
yeahh i know its just past 6 characters have been ranger lightning arrow lol
could also go deadeye for the extra proj (:
i mean like lightning arrow isnt bad i love it, i just wish it had a more viable single target damage against bosses that it cant lightning rod
im still on the fence abt leaving lightning arrow or sticking to it, because i love elemental builds
chronomancer for the cdr might be nice if you go ES and can get infinite convalescence.
Blood mage for crit
Infernalist for low life pain attunement mana stacking
acolyte of chayula for the memes
Stormweaver for fireballs that also chill and shock
Gemling for giga levels and quality
smith for giga def and ssf-friendliness
tons of options
depending on the flavor of fireball you want
whats gemling?
merc
hmmm out of all those options i like the idea of a critting aoe fireball but will it be able to map and boss...
anything can map and boss if you have the gear
thats the thing, im a fresh ssf with no gear
my goal is basically make a lightning arrow build but for fireball, where u just hold down fireball and clear
best ssf starters would probably be smith or gemling, but they might not be too smooth early on. Gemling/merc has a lot of projectile nodes, actually
so that might be good
quality on fireball isn't super good, but it's nice. with the 14% quality from gemling and 20% on fireball, you'd have about 17% chance to fire an additional projectile
with all the nodes on the tree you'll have about 67% chance for 2 extra projectiles with fireball
hmm okayy i was abt to do blood mage before this response haha
blood mage is also very solid
as long as you can sustain the life costs
gemling pathing is very annoying
I'd probably do something like

whoops, didn't mean to summon the bot
main issue with fireball is that it only has 7% base crit
which is pretty low for spells in poe2
oh, and a 1.2s base cast time?
damn, incinerate cast on ignite looking even better
dang is fireball that bad ;-;
No, it's got very strong upsides to counteract those things
But it just means that making it even more insane via crit is harder
And triggering it with meta gems also becomes more appealing due to the high cast time
Fireball also has bonkers single target with ice wall combo shenanigans
Which also makes chronomancer better because ice wall has a cooldown and chronomancer dgaf about cooldowns
But ice wall would mean you're pressing a second button and you said you're not about that
Unless you used fireball manually and had ice wall in a trigger gem? But that sounds bad since you kinda need to position ice wall in a precise fashion
at this point i feel like ima be buildcrafting more than playing the game lol
How you shape your fireball build is basically personal preference.
It basically comes down to how you want to invest your resources (passive points, gear, gems, etc) across single target, clear, smoothness, and tankiness (and probably some other stuff)
And once you decide on what you care about among all those parameters, you can (hypothetically) make a build that does that distribution the best
But there is no "best" distribution
but i guess its also my fault for not wanting to follow builds
for me it's also a lot of feelycraft
I plug in some gems or try an ascendancy node and see how it feels
incinerate with the pathfinder node that reduces movement penalty was chef's kiss to me
but there are probably loads of other chef's kiss combos you can do with fireball
I like to think of it this way:
It's subjective what aspects of your build you want to focus on or invest in. But once you decide on those things, there are objectively correct and incorrect ways to build toward those
thats the thing as a new player how do i decide that
without sitting in pob for hours haha
the subjective part?
yeah how do i know what i wanna invest in
id like to do a full crit fireball build
but my issue is how do i process that in to a build path
equip fireball skill
get crit nodes on tree and jewels
ez
well (un)luckily for you, you're playing hcssf. So two of your parameters are already chosen for you
it's gotta be tanky, and it's gotta be easy to gear
i can do that maybe im thinking of doing energy shield as my main defensive stat and picking up some recoup on the way to burnout
i just suck at using pob
wow got crown of thorns early lol
If I were you, I'd pick a main defensive layer (or two), path for that and nothing else, then see what efficient damage nodes are neaby
your build should function on like 70 points or less
anything on top is a bonus
thats a bit hard wdym by layers?
hmm okay ill figure something out
yeah, that's why i'd like to generate BL with CoS or CoC. Ofcourse i'd need to start and/or refresh the reaction with some old fashion manually casted spell, but i'd like to limit those. I doubt its possible, but i'd love to be able to sustain it with only CoS and Energy Invocation after the reaction starts...I'm dreaming i guess ?
if I were you I'd look into infernalist and igniting WITH ball lightning. cast on ignite is really really good
Mmm would that put back in the game even using firewall with BL ?
I'll take a look on that this evening, ty
I was using cast on ignite with incinerate and it was proccing my spell too often for my mana to keep up
that sounds interesting
how comes tho ? Doesnt it work like CoS ?
never looked into it really, being a stormweaver
I'd lose thay juicy 60% dmg bonus by the 2 shocks , but i'll check it out
yup, not with bosses, but i can use curses then
i actually tought about using blasphemy too with LW , but the malus o the magnitude is terrible!
I'll come back bothering you after i tried something with the infernalist idea, ty
what do u recommend for early game pre fireball? I been doing flame wall but does no damage by itself
(:
if you don't wanna do rakestomp, I'd recommend contagion + essence drain
as much as I'd love to level with the theme of a build from go, it's just not feasible in poe2 at the moment
in poe1 you have fireball, holy flame totem, magma orb, flame wall, and fire trap all at level 1
in poe2 you have... flame wall
and whatever spell your weapon gives you
My main gripe so far with poe2 is the massive lack of early game options for leveling
rakestomp just wins
but even if that were balanced, your options are basically essence drain/contagion or spark+orb of storms for casters
for fire, you get flame wall into solar orb, which have no synergy together at all
so leveling with fire spells is just ass rn
my friends keep telling me to just play poe1 because it has more build diversity too ;-;
awh i love like rping my character but i guess ill have to rakestomp till end of act 2...
wait will rakestomp even work with the nodes im getting?
im getting all spell damage and spell crit
I'd say it really depends on your standards for a build. You can get through the campaign with just about anything, but obviously most options don't measure up to the broken ones.
well my option is firebolt and flamewall early is there anyway i can make that work?
Sure, they do fine damage on their own, and you can later pick up Ember Fusillade and take down bosses decently well. Solar Orb can be used to apply Exposure once you get it, as well. I've played a pure Fire Spell build in 0.1 and 0.2, and while I can't speak on the efficacy of these builds in endgame, they took me through the campaign without too many issues.
But again, it's a matter of standards. If you want something that crushes everything as easily as the top builds, then it may not be suitable for you.
for rakestomp you wouldn't get any of those nodes while leveling. You'd get all your attribute pathing nodes for your build and put them all into strength. Then change them to int/dex later when you swap to your actual build
i dont! i just want something that can clear map decently and boss decently, im not really a "power hungry one shot everything person" im more of a fun builds person
I made the mistake of trying rakestomp and now I can't do acts 1-2 with anything else
save yourself
for example my shotgun incen shot build was fun for bossing but sucked at clearing maps (i know i can make it better but i spent 5 hours reaching act 2 because my low map clear)
heck its what im playing rn while i decide my build path for my blood mage
contagion is very fun for me early on, personally. With a good wand/staff/focus it can lead to situations where you cast it on one thing, kill it, then kite a pack around the map and watch it kill every enemy you run by
contagion + persistence + magnified effect slaps hard
i just realized the two builds im sticking to now is both fire based lol
what other weapon skill to get tru campaign fast other than rake strat?
lightning arrow lightning rod is decent if your bow is decent
How exactly does Chayula darkness work? If I take 100 damage at T=0s and thus reserve 100 darkness, then at T=5s I take another 100 (assuming darkness reservation lasts 10 seconds), does it:
A. Restore 100 darkness at T=10s and then another at T=15s (ie, it tracks each reservation of darkness on its own timer)
or
B. I regain 200 darkness at T=15s assuming no other damage is taken (ie, darkness reservation timer is refreshed whenever darkness is reserved)
omg theres a ashen staff unique, might make a build around it with my full fire crit build
Does anyone have any idea if Yoke of Suffering stacks from different sources? I.e. if two separate players have it, and they each apply elemental ailments to a target, if it would stack. Wording seems to suggest it would
Because of so, I'm wondering about the implications with necromantic talisman + infernal legion
if i increase the damage of my flamewall does it also increase the buff it gives to spells that go through it?
I've been messing around with Volcanic Eruption, trying to get it to scale; Does anyone know if chaining from terrain is supposed to work with it when allocated on the tree? In my testing so far, it doesn't seem to work, but, I'm not sure if I just need more of it, or if I need to scale aoe, or if it's just a bug.
I realize I shouldn’t need to ask this, but. My currency farming build is lightning spear. I heard someone say “infuse weapon” will proc “riding tempest” three times. Is that true?
I'm having some confusion with how much chaos res I need. Guide I'm following says that 30-40 is good enough even for pinnacle content. But that seems way too low? How much would you guys say I need?
When you say "increase the firewall damage" you mean thru gem lvl, increased fire dmg or whut ?
increased fire damage and gems, for example i have zenith on my fire wall which boosts its damage when i have 90 percent mana (which i always have since my main skill is firebolt)
No, any increases to damage only affect its ignite portion. Though %inc fire damage will apply to the projectiles you shoot through it, since it simply adds fire damage to that skill.
But supports that boost damage on flame wall don't affect the projectiles that fly through it, for example
Hi all, I wondering how Cast on crit interacts with cooldown.
If I have two sniper's mark inside cast on crit, does that let me double up on the cooldown?
okayy thank you!
Idk if skills have separate cooldowns. I'd socket two mark skills and see if using one puts the other on cooldown. If it does, your idea is toast
Depends on the content lol. If you're doing mods or bosses that add a ton of chaos damage, you'll probably want more to be safe.
But it depends on your other layers of defense, how well you deal with poison, etc
ah, they share cooldowns!
but strangely, it seems to work inside cast on crit just now. I ll keep testing
thanks
Running a deadeye on a rhoa, so got 30% reduction bc of tailwind. Hoping to push go citadels and arbiter soon.
I don't think projectiles that land on the ground can chain* off of terrain. I think that only works with horizontally-fire projectiles
If they're both in one cast on crit setup, they should both get cast at the same time. So I'd check if two enemies end up with a mark on them when it triggers
can someone recommend me a good ssf starter build?
Artillery Ballista Smith of Kitava
Essence drain/contagion chronomancer (or lich if you're blind to the greatness that is chronomancer)
Alternatively, you can do rake + stomping ground + brutality and take nothing but strength nodes and laugh your way through at least the first three acts. Then you can spec into whatever you want
thx
it think its working!
heck yeahh
Wild. Are you sure you had your marks on different buttons when you tested them separately?
yeah, different buttons
And each button had a different mark?
yup
That's kwazy
to be sure, ill try again. and ill put 1 on different weapon sets
Or use a support gem on one to change its cost or cast time to tell them apart
hmm, well on the skillbar it still treats them as the same no matter what
but I swear that Im getting charges more often than every 2 seconds
when its in CoC
You might have cdrr?
I took off ingenuity
I'd try shooting some packs until it procs and see if there are two marks on enemies
Maybe throw in another spell with a long cast time to make it happen less often
if I get two charges, I win
Most meta builds in 0.2 don’t consider defense, you either oneshot or die 😉
Alright, guess I need a better bow
I'd check out SnapOW on YouTube, but I'm not sure he has anything for 0.2
I know it’s been nerfed but does anyone know how you can make triple heralds works still? Like I need a pob so I can get an idea about gems etc if anyone has one by chance
Which three heralds?
Fire, ice, thunder
The main reason people used Herald of thunder + Herald of ice was to get them to chain off each other. They made it so that can't happen anymore. So what's the goal of the triple Herald build you'd be making?
Mainly map clear
Which I can prob just get with lightning but thought it would be fun
The heralds scale their damage off their own "weapons" so there isn't really a way to scale multiple heralds aside from attack and elemental damage
And attack damage wouldn't scale Herald of ash
Aside from boosting your overkill damage I guess
Well that is what I’m looking into so I’m converting my elemental damage with chaos right now, I’m using herald of ash and overkilling stuff to ignite, so was trying to figure out how to get lightning to chain in there somehow.
Well you'd need to shock stuff to proc Herald of thunder, which is very hard to do if you're converting your damage to chaos
Same for Herald of ice and freeze
Converting to chaos is maybe the worst thing you could do for a triple Herald build
That quiver doesn't help you shock
It makes your chaos* build electrocute, not shock
It would help with freeze tho
Yes so Im trying for figure out how to add shock to the build for it
I’m trying some of the stuff I used with my ls but not really working
Sounds like you want voltaxic rift
Yeah I have it
Oh, so you're golden then
Just do lots of damage, inflict shocks/freezes, and you're all set
Ok will keep going
Well, hm
Feel like I’m missing something with the gems
Original sin should convert all my ele damage from my kit though, unless heralds are not effected by that ele damage I do
For cast on critical with trinity, Should I use a low level skill gem ex frostbolt to reduce mana cost
Yeah that's the question. I would guess they convert? You could test it by putting envenom support on a Herald (not ash) and seeing if any enemies get poisoned
Yeah good idea will test that tonight
Resonance only builds from attack hits, not spells
ig snipers mark is only one worth putting in then yes?
I have no idea
I am near max and not losing anything, Just seeing what I can do since I am at this threshold
But "worth" would require a cost-benefit analysis and a psych evaluation
Have you considered not using cast on crit at all and using the spirit for something else?
Do ashen staffs not get any prefix rolls? so can i keep my lvl 6 one the whole time or...
You will naturally be able to get better affixes on higher item level Staves, and all equipable items can have prefixes and suffixes, so not sure what you mean there.
Yes
Almost all items follow the rule of:
Normal = no explicit modifiers
Magic = 1-2 explicit modifiers, max 1 prefix and 1 suffix
Rare = 3-6 explicit modifiers, max 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes
A lot of items also have an implicit modifier. All ashen staves have the implicit mod that grants the fire bolt spell
i see because mine has plus 2 all fire spells, plus 20 percent spell damage, plus 8 percent fire damage, plus 15 fire damage and plus 20 percent cast speed, and i cant seem to find a ashen staff thats gonna replace that for awhile
Considering you listed two separate instances of Fire damage, I'll assume one is Damage as Extra. Anyway, it can be a bit tough to replace caster weapons, but you will later find Staves with +3 or higher (up to +7 iirc) to Fire Spell Skill level, and all the other affixes will naturally have higher tiers as you go on.
I have a whole tab of decent caster weapons because I never know when I'm going to lose my best one
yeah one is extra
and understandable! im just halfway through act 2 and havent been able to find any good one i might just make one with crafting
Are there any witch ascendancy builds that are on the same power level as chaos dot lich?
Guys snap me out of it
cluster grenade is just bait right?
i am not seeing a way to make it work decently
with the same investment my gas grenades is doing more damage and more consistently
without even investing in the poison nodes
and if i try to instead make it a boss killer with adhere, it deals less damage than high velocity on a higher cooldown
i've also noticed that increasing the amount of grenades shot wont increase the amount of mini grenades
thought that if i shoot two cluster grenades it would be 28 projectiles instead of 14, but its two normal weak grenades that then turn into 14 instead of 2 + 28
not sure if its a bug
hey, if i would to follow a build, on mobalytics the attribute nodes are just empy, does it matter what kind of +5 i choose for intelligence, strng or dex?
Usually you take w/e you need for your supports and then your main attribute with what's left. That's what I do anyways.
how do i know what my main attribute is/
You probably got things that scale with one of the attributes in your tree don't you?
Plus generally it's just looking at your character. Buff -> str. nibmle -> dex. magic -> int
im pathfinder ranger, all my skills and equip need dex it seems, but i only see builds for pathfinder that require a lot of INT or STRGHT xd
what do you consider a lot of?
Has anyone got an Incinerate Pathfinder PoB pls?
Cluster grenade slaps on chronomancer and you get a lucky streak of cooldown bypass and stack like five sets of three cluster grenades
It gives you a fuckin seizure but it murders shit
I do, but I'm at work atm
Welcome to the way, the truth, and the life
ok when you can, cheers.
I haven't gotten very far with it in-game yet and there are lots of ways you can go with it
I dont mind. I'm just doing a fresh SSF run for fun and want to try something different. I'm not going to kill Ubers etc. Just mapping.
Well I do, unfortunately, recommend leveling with rakestomp and just taking pure str nodes
maybe thats the only way?
bypassing cd seems quality
idk
for a t13 skill i was hoping something more like hammer of gods instead of this tbh lol
A price check? #price-check📉 and there's a guide for it in #1308715317375270952
Grenade chronomancer is super strong imo. I just can't stand grenades. The fuse length, the bouncing, the absurdly noisy visuals. Nty
But the clearing and damage is disgusting imo. Though I do have very low standards
is ventors gamble only way to get negative rarity
i just need the pathing etc
Well the pathing changes depending on your setup
Like, if I focus on cast on ignite, I go toward some energy and trigger nodes. If I feel like I'm too slow while channeling, I'll go toward the movement penalty nodes in the southeast
But idk how the build will feel so it's up in the air
the most annoying part of the build is that you cannot even get the skill until way way later.
So skills have a max quality of 20
+3 (corruption)
+13 (Gemling notable) + 6 from two more smalls
+25 (Morior + fox talisman)
Making for 64/67/70
Meaning with a level 28+ Freezing Salvo, you can get it to fill up to its maximum missiles in 0 seconds, right?
Does anyone have a list of skills that have great synergy with the Pathfinder's
Even assuming a minimum of 0.01 seconds it would accumulate all 12 faster than you could fire
hey guys im following maxroll LS amazon guide, im making the transition to LS, the guide has snipers mark on CoFreeze and he has it on alone, how do i deal with that? should i cut another snipers makr and use it manually?
Gemling has +16% quality I think
Three 2% small nodes and a 10% notable
Pretty much any channeling skills. Also any skills that you want to use momentum with.
Oh, you already got the gemling small nodes, but made the notable account for 13% for some reason
23% on gem, 16% from gemling, 25% from morior, I count 64%
For -0.64s
Theyre 3% nodes and there's 3 of them isnt there?
And notable would be 13 because the small in front of it is 3
ah nvm youre right they're 2%
Well its definitely possible, 0 seconds if you take Advanced Thaumaturgy
Too bad i cant test in game
Thanks for the help. I think you're right. Do you know if projectiles from Volcanic Explosion would benefit from added flat damage? Like the added flat from Charged Staff?
I would assume yes
Well, lemme walk that back
Volcanic explosion already scales with your damage as far as I'm aware
It does 40% base damage per projectile
So your added damage is already factored in
confirming that the above is correct
I had a mini heart attack when I saw viper typing lmao
xd
That's helpful. The "base" damage per projectile is what's confusing to me.
