yeah on the skeleton with having around 500 hp and 50 hp looks roughly like 1/10 hp ticks
and then on a totem cause it doesnt have its own hp regen
45.3 and each node i get that gives 10% increased regen rate doesn't raise that 45.3 after requipping sceptre, despawn and respawning the totem
and visually it looks like the healing is about the same as well
The answer is "Yes", but there's one exception. If the +%increased damage is on a weapon, it modifies the base stat directly. This kind of modifier is called "local". You can that a base stat is modified by a local modifier if any of its numbers are colored blue. In any other case, "+%increased damage" and "+%increased global damage" are the same thing. IDK why they sometimes use the word "Global" for no reason, just adds to confusion

just a basic skeleton warrior, level 7 485 hp
then being near me is giving him 45.6 hp regen
or is that pact on spark and tempo on conductivity
and i got it up to around 51 and watching his hp visually go up and down it looks like ticks of 1/10
which the math would make secnds if hes healing 50 hp per second and has almost 500 hp
What content do you need more dps for? Just slam in temporalis or something for mobility, if you're overkilling everything anyways

if you arent already, running minion pact would up dps, though it can be awkward in maps and needs some spirit investment. youre already on CI.
I once played around with a convoluted setup with Sacrifice + Skeletal Warrior (from sceptre) + Cast on Minion Death with Profane ritual to gain power charges from weapon swaps. But I remember it being buggy as hell to even get the skeletons to summon at first place. It involved toggling and unequipping and reordering skills. Then occasionally it would stop working. IDK what made it work to this day.

there is something wonky going on with the hp regen paper wise too cause, basically i took everything off besides my own hp regen from the passive tree and the sceptre and go to 17.9 hp regen for skeleton, If I put on boots that give me 24, i would assume thats

because im currently at 125.3 and half of that is not 34.8
The internal name of that affix is "total base life regeneration rate per minute % granted to allies in your presence"

Making sure I understand but with my jewel here, all the skills within the circle are active?
they are effected by your jewel, but you have to actually put a skill point into it
move your mouse over it and you can see it should have the added effect from the jewel you slotted
so any notable passives that have a skill point in it will give you the effect unless that jewel works different from my understanding

How does controlled destruction work with flame wall?
If you fire a projectile with crit through it, does the fire damage buff get increased, and is it then unable to crit even when the rest of the hit crits?
im pretty sure controlled destruction only affects hit damage
so the extra damage flame wall is granting your projectiles wont be affected by it
it would only affect the dot damage flame wall does when enemies walk through it
thats why stuff like fortress is popular on flame wall despite the 50% less dmg with hits downside

Does anyone know if Trampletoe's damage shares the type of the hit that caused it?
I.e. is it a spell or an attack, or neither?

you can still scale the damage though, which is why frost wall trampletoe can one shot bosses lol

poe2db says it just does physical damage, it has no attack/spell classification
attacks are defined as skills that use your weapon, and overkill cant proc archmage so its not spell damage either

Well, I suppose I'll have to test then. Probably the most reliable way after area of effect is to use one of the nodes that disables regen and see how much I recover with Thief's Torment

hello, currently abit confused since im trying to cap my resistances without losing my damage
currently running a gemling stacker, pillar of the caged gods build
the problem is my rings, amulet, belt and shoes since the rest are uniques
use double socket howa/atziri (if using atziri) with ele res cores, use 4-5 ele res cores in your morior, get A LOT of resists on your amulet/boots
you can use a single ele res roll on your rings too, all res is very useful
but ideally you don't do that because attributes on breach rings is so strong with ingenuity
the cores done, i cant get 5 socket morior since its way outta my budget
I see a howa and a black sun that could be double cores instead of 1
and if you still use a rare belt it should not be hard to res cap at all
1 sec lemme check the price on howa and black sun 2x socket
I would also recommend fubguns guide, but it's fine if you want to use black sun crest
im open to anything tbh just wanna get started on properly mapping
also, lightning + cold res is more important than fire, and you can get resists on corrupted jewels too

your current character looks like it's 5d or much less budget, if you're poor you will struggle (even more so when you swap ingenuity)

you will need to farm up quite a lot
but yeah, people can't tell you what to upgrade without knowing your rares, but you should not be struggling to res cap without ingenuity (belt is an easy slot to get lots of resists)
and ideally you get some strong breach rings with high attributes (and some flat dmg potentially, you can use pob to find good weighted sums)

If is says 70/100, then 30 Spirit is being used somewhere. Do you perhaps have a Persistent skill from an ascendancy or a Sceptre that you've put support gems into? Some can add a flat Spirit reservation to skills.

As far as I've seen, it seems dodging and high damage is the better way to go, so I wonder if a shield build can compete in survivability and clearing compared to like a ranged character?

How does inevitable critical work? Does it give a guaranteed crit after 4 second? Or just double you existing crit chance after 4 seconds?
It gives you 100% increased critical strike chance after 4 seconds. If your base crit chance is 5%, and you have no other modifiers affecting it, it would double that to 10%, but if you have other sources of increased crit chance, it would be added onto them.

Trying to make a leveling pillar build that is more hardcore safe / noob proof. So far I've got pillar, polc, meginords, wanderlust, and ghostwrithe. Can yall think of any other uniques that I could get some survivability with?
I'm thinking maybe Goldrim, then treefingers so I can get a strong shield on to cover more ele res / block.
Do you think it will be possible to set up uniques only (outside of +dmg rings) that defensively last through act 3 cruel, or will I have to lean on rares for ele res capping?

here’s my question: apparently socketing multiple copies of the same spell into the same meta gem works. but can I put more than one Cold snap into Cast on freeze = can you snap the same frozen enemy multiple times?

Yeah you first add your "gained as extra Chaos" (or any other damage type), before you determine which %inc damage applies
i forgot the exact formula but your dmg should be smth lime
raw dmg * increased dmg * more damage + extra dmg * increased dmg * more dmg
you cant really definitely say increased dmg is more or less valuable than extra dmg unless you have exact numbers
I mean that if you have +%inc damage for physical spells and you then cast a spell that does 100phys damage, you gain extra chaos damage, but the chaos portion doesn't benefit from your wand (that gives the %inc phys damage)
Same for attacks, but I just couldn't think of a good modifier that isn't confusing

Yeah, and this is split into as many piles as needed
So if you do multiple types of damage, you want to prefer more generic %inc damage sources like %inc elemental damage or %inc projectile dmg, %inc attack dmg etc.

Seems like a bug abuse honestly. The ice wall/bone cage fragments are for whatever reason considered to be mininos and Trampletoe triggers the overkill. I wouldn't invest too much in a build that is almost certainly a bug
And even if the wall fragments were "Minions", they wouldn't be enemies and trampletoe only overkills enemies.
I do have a question, if anyone could answer: is Spagetification better than Overwhelming Strike on the Astramentis amulet?

im pretty sure it was an oversight, but the way its designed makes it super awkward to patch lol
they already patched trigger skills from gaining energy through frost wall etc. so they definitely dont want it to be considered an entity, methinks its likely theyll patch it if they do get a chance

several people ask me for my 9.5 Million DPS spark build. the reality is that 99% of people do not have the currency needed to make my build. However I have helped over a hundred people with Spark Stormweaver and I will show you how to make a build that requires no unique Jewel and no unique Gear capable of killing all the content in the game.
Equipment; ( helmet , armor , glove ) Maximum mana , maximum energy shield, increased energy shield, intelligence, for armor and helmet add spirit if you need it. and choose your resistances that you need.
for the belt, maximum mana and resistances you need.
for boots, movement speed, maximum mana, maximum energy shield, intelligence, increased energy shield, and finish with the resistances you need.
for rings the important stats are maximum mana, intelligence, mana regeneration , cast speed and the resistances you need.
for amulet; maximum mana, maximum energy shield, + spell skills, mana regeneration, intelligence or attribute, for anointed lightning rod.
for the wand and focus, Lightning damage and spell damage, maximum mana, + lightning skill for the wand and + spell skill for the focus , critical chance, and mana regenerate or cast speed.
For equipment, for those who can afford it, there is the affordable Midnight Braid belt, and for more advanced players, the Ingenuity Belt.
For rings, the best option is Breach Rings, and if you want a unique ring, the Dream Ring.
For unique armor, you can go for Morior.
For a unique shield, there is Mahu.
Then, there are the Unique Jewels, but that's getting into expensive territory.

It's not freeze buildup, and it doesn't matter how you achieve it; From what I understand, it just gives you energy when you damage an enemy and it goes from not frozen to frozen.
you gain 10 energy per 1 power of enemy when you freeze an enemy
more spark damage = faster freeze = more consistent energy buildup
ggg did say they made chain freezing harder so i cant say if it would necessary lead to a substantial increase in casts
also fun fact named bosses have 20 power; if you have impetus slotted in for 40% increased energy, level 20 gem for 57% increased energy, and 20% quality for 15% increased energy (net 112%), you'd get 424 energy on freezing a named boss
so you'd be able to cast 4.24 seconds of spells
you can push this higher with passive skills and stuff too
im pretty sure it would round 0.03 to 0 so i dont think so

I'm not 100% sure, but i guess that increased ES is just local to the item and it increases the ES value of the item. increased maximun ES is for your char ES value instead ?

for the belt, maximum mana and resistances you need.
for boots, movement speed, maximum mana, maximum energy shield, intelligence, increased energy shield, and finish with the resistances you need.
for rings the important stats are maximum mana, intelligence, mana regeneration , cast speed and the resistances you need.
for amulet; maximum mana, maximum energy shield, + spell skills, mana regeneration, intelligence or attribute, for anointed lightning rod.
for the wand and focus, Lightning damage and spell damage, maximum mana, + lightning skill for the wand and + spell skill for the focus , mana regenerate or cast speed.
For equipment, for those who can afford it, there is the affordable Midnight Braid belt, and for more advanced players, the Ingenuity Belt.
For rings, the best option is Breach Rings, and if you want a unique ring, the Dream Ring.
For unique armor, you can go for Morior.
For a unique shield, there is Mahu.

I think it depends on what skill you are adding the bonus to.

One thing you can check is for the Sustained keyword on the skill. If it has it, then each hit is rolled separately.

Like, for the purposes of things like Trampletoe, can multiple different instances of damage hit on the same exact frame, even if the first few would've killed it?
An example still using trampletoe:
Enemy has 100 health, we hit them with 3 grenades that deal 75 damage each, and detonate at the same time.
Trampletoe does 30% of overkill to adjacent enemies;
Will the overkill be 50, from the second grenade taking life from 25 to 0, or 125, with all three grenades taking life from 100 to 0?
The difference being that in one case trampletoe will deal 12 damage, and in the other 37.5

my thinking is the additional flamewalls generated by spell cascade make it more probable that sparks will travel through them

I used spell cascade for most of my leveling then swapped to fortress when I had to move cascade elsewhere.
Fortress is easier to control where it lands and that control more than balances out the smaller area of impact.

definitely cast on crit, ailment triggers are not very consistent unless you're using a large single-hitting spell

How does charged staff work? I don’t get any charges from it
You need to first generate Power Charges in order to be able to use Charged Staff.
Once you do, it will add a projectile to all of your Quarterstaff attacks. Charged Staff does not innately generate Power Charges on its own, unless you go for the Resonance+Combat Frenzy combo and freeze using the Charged Staff projectiles.
So I have combat frenzy no charges are being generated
Do you also have Resonance to generate Power Charges instead of Frenzy Charges?
And are you Freezing, Electrocuting or Pinning enemies to generate charges in the first place?
For context I am mercenary who’s being using grenades and has specced into tempest flurry to see how it goes. I have resonance

Then yeah, you'll need to be triggering one of those status effects in order to actually generate charges.

Wind Dancer will only apply that when you are hit and its AoE hit is triggered. As for the Cold damage, you need a decent amount to inflict Freezing consistently. Also, are you using The Three Dragons? That will swap around what ailments the elemental damage types inflict.

You'd need to add the Electrocute support gem, or use something like Electrocuting Arrow.

The approach I've typically seen to Tempest Flurry would be to use The Three Dragons, Freeze as a result, generate Power Charges and use Charged Staff that way. Combine with Hand of Wisdom and Action and Pillar of the Caged God for OP nonsense. I'm sure there's plenty of other options, though, I don't keep up with builds outside of what I see posted in this server.

Yeah, I don't believe the tooltip is very good about such things. It also doesn't display anything when welding Seeing Stars, and that definitely does work.

That's mostly a good guide. If you're pushing top tier maximum, then it's more element damage or speed. Varies a bit depending on specific skills or what level of dps you're at. But if you're that high up, you'll know what numbers you need

Mana and int stacking, gotta go crit also for highest dps. Archmage, eldritch battery. Wand with +5 and other good dps mods. Focus with+2 gives solid dps boost too

What threshold you mean? You trying to avoid the damage? Need higher mana is better. When I experimented with it, the self damage wasn't bad so it's like free mana pool. I'm not an expert on that specific ascendency node though
Like if I want the 20% fire damage bonus constant. Should I have really high costs low mana (equals low infernal flame conversion) to reset to 0 and get back above 65 fast or big mana so I stay above 65% when I get there for longer

I think that would be very difficult to maintain in a fight scenario. I'd imagine a larger mana pool would be better. My personal theory though, haven't tried it myself

If you are doing 12k DMG with spark it's likely a gear problem, you can check the preferred mods and weighted searches on the guide to understand what gear can get you more mana/dps

There are couple of ways to make your character Take damage to itself, none of those are cold though. You also can't convert damage that is passively taken due to some effect.

If dying a lot then either more dps to kill before you die or layer your defenses
Either energy shield or flat health on gear yeah. Avoiding 90% of hits is good, but you need to not get one-shot by those last 10%.
She might also be getting got by non-evadable hits like slams and other AoE stuff- Consider taking Acrobatics and getting even more evasion.
Though without seeing her gameplay it's possible that it's as the guy above me said, and you just need more damage.

Neither of those things care how many power charges they consume
The former doesn't do anything by consuming charges, it just gives benefits while you have them. The latter gives crit if you consumed at least one charge.

My situation is thatI want to shoot lightning arrow (that has Rising Tempest socketed in it) to shatter a frozen enemy which triggers the Herald of the Ice. Idk if I have used this skill now and get the buff of Rising Tempest for further attacks because I now have used cold spell recently

Are there known Path of Building bugs related to strength calculation? My in-game strength is 685 and PoB is showing 594, it's not even close.
My life and life regeneration area also off, but that's nto surprising given that my strength is so wrong. Looking at everything else, it is exactly correct - armor / evasion / energy shield totals, dexterity, and Int, so i don't think there's anything massively wrong with the gear I have added or the tree that is defined.
