Got this build for now. Its Cast on Freeze with Frostwall, Cast on Shock with Comet and Herald of Thunder with Cold Support gems and Herald of Ice with Lightning Support gems.
The Frostwalls you spawn get instantly destroyed. Whole build fucntions without Polcirkeln.

no, because before taking these 4 nodes, my shock is 20% which is the base value
but taking these nodes i go to 42 shock
which should be 110% increased shock magnitude
the additional 15% shock magnitude from my gem is consistent with 225% increased shock magnitude, so that +15% works as expected
these nodes are giving 110% instead of 75% as far as i can tell?

in the grand scheme of things how valuable is 90% increased damage vs 45% increased shock magnitude? I can shock twice and both are up fairly often.
The shock damage is multiplicative right where the increase is additive? So I think I'm looking at like 9% (18% if you count both shocks) more shock damage vs the 90% increased damage.

So even if you only see “+75% Shock Magnitude” listed, the node cluster might also have (for example) “+35% Effect of Non‐Damaging Ailments.” Those two lines add up to a total of +110% (i.e. 1 + 0.75 + 0.35 = 2.10). Multiply your 20% base by 2.1 and you get 42%. The same logic applies for 90% Shock plus 35% from ailments, giving 20% × 2.25 = 45%.
Before taking those nodes you just had the plain 20% Shock with no extra “Effect of Non‐Damaging Ailments,” so it stayed at 20%. Once you allocate the cluster, both bonuses come into play and you end up at 42% or 45% instead of the “pure” 35% or 38%.

No primal armament doesnt give you a buff - it adds dmg to the skill its socketed into. So charged staff will do more dmg.
You could just try +35% to Effect of Non-Damaging Ailments
then -35% to Effect of Ignite
etc

I’m making my spark sorc build and I was wondering if it was viable to use a dps amulet instead of everlasting. I have roughly 4K mana with both and the same mana regen but the amulet gives me like 15k more dps. With high mana regen I find that if I ever die I’m dying regardless (completely covered in enemies or a Death Star beam from some random enemy incinerates me, so I was wondering if everlasting is really worth it? CI + Archmage btw

Would it be the same increase in damage when I have charged staff active as it is on ice strike normally or is it more or less … like it sounds like it’s a benefit to have it on charged staff instead of ice strike normally… I know the DPS will show less for ice strike without it but once I activate charged it’s a lot more damage then normal ??

on a jewel?
basically the range is multiplied by the difference between min and max, to get the roll. so 0,5 range would be 35 + 0.5 * 15 (diff between max) = 35 + 7.5 = 42.5 rounded to 43% with {range:0,5}
so with a range fraction of 0
youd just roll the min
but this is how its done for uniques in poe2

keep in mind i did a custom lua edit to make shock magnitude go above 20%
because its HARD locked to 20 atm, despite the value you input being 80% or whatever

Hello, i have a question regarding Ranger build, I noticed that in many ranger demo char is not slowdown on shoot but I always slowdown on shot, how I can change it?

why do i have extra 20% chaos res?
on some builds i've seen, once they socket that lvl 16 spark gem (total lvl 20), the dps is about 30k, that's without any support. others are even way higher because of skill lvl.
what are the factors here? what's the biggest contributor/impact? how can i find out?

I am convinced after a full day of testing and doing everything under the sun that I can think to do. That cast on abilities literally don't work on console.

Hi guys and girls. I have a question: If i have a minion build with mage arsonist, does added firedamage, colddamage, physical damage added affect their attack? Or would it only be fire added as thats their damage output?
in general for mods to affect minions they have to say "added x to minions"
im pretty sure you bricker your character, cuz if that was not the case, it would be a very know issue, and GGG would've fixed it
Which makes even less sense to me. And I've tried looking online to see if other people are having this issue. But no all of their issues were like they forgot to turn it on or they didn't have quite enough spirit or something like that.
And for me it's none of those simple things. And I used to use cast on shock with the god quarter staff build.

I even took the time and looked back at screenshots of my spec from back then to see if I had something that I didn't have this time around. And that's not it either. Like I'm I'm literally stumped and I can normally troubleshoot pretty easily
What about 43 life gained on kill, is that when my minion kills something, or does it also have to be MY own spell doing the kill hit?
For me to get the 43 life that is, or will both my minion and myself get it?
So normally, it generally requires two specific support gems. And then whatever ability you want to cast through the trigger. And of course turning cast on, on using spirit.
And then every time you do the thing for instance cast on shock, you gain energy and then when you hit a hundred energy it spends that energy to cast whatever spell you have slotted in it.
But for me, it gains energy and then just doesn't cast the spell. I've even gotten rid of all of the gems regarding it. Cut new gems, and it still didn't work.
Like when I say I've done everything I can think of I mean it.

Yeah and I wish I could figure it out. And I've tried other cast on abilities as well like cast on crit. Same thing It just doesn't use the spell when it hits max energy. It's like it's snuffs itself out and restarts gaining energy.
for monk at least you can find the passive tree just from googling. For gear, I think just pillar and Howa are must haves

From experience, mana is a big issue for tempest flurry. I did ice strike which felt easier/cheaper to get online

Is it normal for PoB to not show the exact same dps shown in game for a skill? I copied everything and it's showing 72k whereas in game it's 77k

I'm currently running a melee build that uses CI and I'm trying to decide between using a pure evasion chest piece with like 2k evasion vs using one with 1100 evasion and 400 energy shield.
I'm taking Bestial Skin and Spectral Ward, so the evasion one ends up offering more free stats, but it's still less energy shield overall. I tried to calculate it a bit and I think they end up each giving around this much with those two talents taken into consideration, assuming I did it right.

My goal would be to get enough evasion / faster energy shield startup to make my energy shield regenerate a bit more consistently in combat without me needing to back out of melee. Higher evasion, maybe even acrobatics would help with that. The issue is I'm not exactly sure how high I need to get my energy shield in the first place to avoid one shots. Anyhow, I'm not sure which is better. Would appreciate any feedback from those of you with more knowledge!

broken armour amplifies only physical damage taken?
All conversions happen at once. If a damage type would get converted to two different things that sum to more than 100%, then it normalizes the weighting. What that means is that if you have the gloves and avatar of fire and a skill does 100 fire damage, it would add the 75% to fire from AoF and the 100% to cold from the gloves and basically turn those into what % they are of their total, 175%. 75% is 3/7ths of 175% and 100% is 4/7ths of 175%.
So your 100 fire damage would turn into 3/7ths fire and 4/7ths cold. And then that 4/7ths cold would be deleted because you cannot deal non-fire damage due to AoF.
btw ice wall nuking still work/is good?

For the mercenary fire cascade, nope, I was testing it yesterday and it doesn't hit the wall anymore. Idk why it was op but lightning build, destroying everything in seconds doesnt 🤷🏻♂️
It looks like we still stay with the only, lightning build for the mercenary.

Stacking increased charges gained doesn't seem to be too effective. It works on the 0.25 charges per second from flask but i don't think it affects the 0.27 or however much from alchemists boon
Reduced charges used seems like it is more feasible paired with a flask that has 70% increased charges, but i only see that affix on belts and cap is 15%. I don't see it showing up on jewels like increased charges gained does

Without poedb up I can't search for stuff that could convert seismic cry, unfortunately. But I don't get what you mean by it not being scalable. It can scale with str, physical damage, damage over time, warcry damage, rage (if you use that support to make it spend rage to deal more damage), and probably more stuff I haven't found yet

Corrupted is a special modifier and item tag. The process of making something corrupted is referred to as corruption.

- Dps was never one of my top priorities here
- I don't get how warbringer gives you block that you can't get from a decent rare shield
- Yeah sustain is a worry, tbh. But something like font of life on a totem combined with loads of regen might be enough to get by

- 40% block does not protect you from ALL hits, like the warbringer ascendancy. Regardless, it's not enough
- If you don't do DPS - you spend a lot of time taking damage -> if you don't kill things, the things are hitting you.
- Warbringer ascendancy allows ALL hits to be blocked.
- Regen isn't really a factor in this game, especially if you get chunked for 5k at a time with no armour (and 4k with armour since armour is very weak)
The best str stacking chest also blocks your HP regen btw

Each spark cast sends out X projectiles. All of the projectiles from this cast share an internal cooldown of 0.66 seconds on how often they can hit a particular mob.
Idk what you mean by "how sorc works" because I'm using sorc to fire a bow and freeze stuff and blow up bosses with a 6-frenzy barrage snipe. All classes can use all skills and gear. Can you be more specific about the skill or archetype you want to play?
A single projectile from a cast cannot by default hit twice (unless you have a source of pierce), but another projectile belonging to that cast could hit the target after the 0.66s internal cooldown.
I mean, it's better if I say that without pierce a spark projectile will disappear once it hits something.
But since sparks sends out so many projectiles per cast, you can shotgun very effectively with it by hitting every 0.66s.
Most builds get insanely strong with a temporalis, yeah, but you also don't ever need temporalis to clear t15 maps
Projectile speed and projectile duration are therefore forms of DPS scaling for spark in particular as it increases the likelihood and amount of maximum times of hititng the target every 0.66s.
Spark, the only skill where you need to use the heisenberg uncertainty principle to calculate your dps
Spark is OP since it has insane screen coverage, can go around corners, can shotgun, and has more vectors of scaling than most other spells.
And it's a lightning skill and lightning is very strong compared to fire (for example)
Fire spells having the lowest base crit chance makes zero sense to me lol
Ignite is already the weakest ailment of the three elemental damage types, but w/e
Spark shotgunning also isn't mentioned in the tooltip, while the tooltip of Projectile says: "When a group of multiple projectiles is fired from the same source at the same time, only one Projectile in the group can hit each target unless otherwise specified.". Spark doesn't specify otherwise.
In this case the bug is probably in the tooltip and not in the skill though.

But 100% less stun build up means those hits won't build it

Gemling seems like a shoe-in for the build since I'll be stacking str and gemling doubles the life from str. But there's also a world where I just go something like chrono and use recoup for sustain. Or pathfinder for insane life flask sustain. Or Infernalist for loads of ES from my life
dualstring bow is basically mandatory in endgame
the other bow bases are just so much worse

Pillar is usually a second character build
It can be okay without HoWA, but it still requires items with lots of stats and they can be expensive
if you get half decent rings then pillar works pretty well, like its one of the best leveling setups too

ok chat can yall help ive been planning a build for a while but i cant pin some things down
the idea is to use quecholli crumbling maul to cast on crit, and then decided the best way to scale is if the spell and attack do the same damage so using avatar of fire and comet
and if its doing fire damage can then also use cast on ignite for more procs also with comet
and as for the attack volcanic fissure doesnt have a flat attack time and converts to fire, and aftershocks cause more hits so more crits
also decided monk invoker for the ascendancy that allows crits to ignore resistance, and increased meta energy gain
but im not sure how to fit all these pieces together, how to scale defence, etc etc
Is there any way to increase Hell Hound's ignite dmg via the passive tree other than increasing its max HP?

Follow-up question: Since Hellhound and Flame Wall just constantly put Ignites on things, does that means when Firestorm consumes an Ignite it just gets immediately re-applied before Firestorm can hit again?

only minion nodes - but yes minion damage does impact it.
And you should be able to consume the ignite and immediately re-apply with Firestorm.
Not sure what your goal is with that though, because Firestorm dmg is kind of bad (especially on single target) - youd often be better by casting a Command ability or something like Eye of Winter / Curse.
Also with Dog constantly igniting - it makes immolate an attractive support for other minions

hey, if u made ur spark really really SLOW, would it hit multiple times?
conversion from skill gems take priority over conversion from other sources.... so it's weird
projectiles from a single cast of spark can hit a particular enemy once every 0.66s
so if you could theoretically make a spark stay inside the model of an enemy and crawl through it for the entire duration of the spark, then yes it'd hit every 0.66s

that bolt tab is giving you the stats of the lightning bolt that that skill creates. It has nothing to do with crossbow bolts

ignites cannot stack, only the highest damaging ignite on a target actually affects it
but it's very hard to get 100% chance to ignite a target, so you realistically need BOTH frequent hits AND high damage
which is why ignite builds aren't super popular rn, I'd reckon
I’m trying to grab inspiration for EK ignite from PoE1 and understand what made it so good
what made it good was how strong conversion was. It also had added fire support going for it as well as the ability to get 100% chance to ignite on every enemy

bonestorm is famously a ton of itty bitty hits, I don't see it doing much for ignite

That is alot of Self-cast damage - and honestly minion builds have to stack so many minion passives, its hard to justify the self damage.
Oh i guess you didnt mention any other skeletons - so maybe you are just doing self-cast infernalist. At which point, not sure about the SRS - they just wont do enough without proper support unless you are using them for things like Blind/Maim to add more defensive layers to your character

Yup you got it, self-cast centric build with the SRS there because what else am I gonna spend spirit on, and doggo is more for the damage reduction / distraction than doing damage, but I was curious about the mechanics of it
Early game Flamewall + Fusillade produces a LOT of skulls so it is a significant boost atm
SRS with Blind/Maim/Cull is great defensively. Highly suggest it in your setup. Dog with Fire Exposure and Strip Away
problem is - fire spells are kinda bad
