dependent on dmg, electrocution buildup is a function of the lighting dmg you deal with hits
so you can increase your damage and also increase that multiplier that gives the electrocution buildup
but if you do no lightning damage then its worthless to scale

i used withering touch on totem, but eventually when dark effigy quality effect works that would be the easiest since youre going to use it anyways

For me, enabling the "Always attack without moving" in a skill generally disabled the auto-targeting without forcing me to stop in place... but I'm also playing a caster.

It's just... clearly doing more than 96 dps (or 75 per use), as the detail displays. My other spells at this level are doing 750-1750 DPS, and lightning ball is on par with them. I just need to know which multipliers are actually effecting it so I can build accordingly... But it doesn't act like other projectiles. It always pierces--or maybe the ball itself does zero dmg, but it "shoots" lightning every .2 seconds--and is that lightning itself a projectile, getting my +125% projectile bonuses? Something is clearly hidden from me, and I don't know what it is

It's also great if you want something more forgiving, as if you survive a big enough hit or get mobbed you have a button that says "nope" every 6 seconds 😅
multiple reasons but mostly because its inherent magnitude is only 20%, just like poison but poison can stack up to 8 and for whatever reason poison is also closer to more ailment deals faster than the fire side of tree - also the support for poison is just better, herald of ash sucks nuts and ignite specific support gems are pretty bad math-wise
and fire nodes arent great comparatively

What does non-negative Elemental Resistances mean in "Hits ignore non-negative Elemental Resistances of Frozen Enemies"?

If you manage to reduce an enemies resistance to below zero, it's a benefit to you.
If it were to ignore those, you would actually lose damage.
So you can basically read it as "Ignores resistance when it would help you to do so."
So enemies I freeze always have 0 ER?

theres a small window on it reaching full charge where you get the perfect timing, if youre late or early you dont get the crit or the explosion

There seems to be some scaling issues with respect to decaying hex, so you will need to supplement it with something 😦

If you're going chaos? Contagion and Essence Drain is the go-to in terms of chaos leveling.
I also use the same setup you're talking about, but those two are an important part of your damage.

i found a bug on my passive skill tree. when i add / remove points on my 2nd weapon set. It affects my entire damage / health / manapool on my 1st set.
i think he means dual wielding, say, an axe and a sword and being able to effectively use an axe skill and also a sword skill seamlessly

They don't want builds that delete everything in the game instantly, so expect the ridiculous number of comets per second builds and the HOWA builds that delete bosses in 2 seconds to get nerfed

I'm going for high damage and low IAS anyway because scaling attack speed isn't that worth it with the poison limit. But yeah, my poison chance is only like 40% on Galvanic (Plasma Blast is at 100% with the support gem). It feels fine for Galvanic because it chains and I've got poison prolif, but Siege Cascade felt a little inconsistent for me. I do wanna pick up a little more poison chance and try it again, though

It's great for the builds that need to be shocking, and want Explosive Shot to be able to shock
But it's not quite as necessary for you, I think - just a nice thing to have instead

Yeah, I think there are quite a few ways to approach the swaps. Clear versus single target, different elemental types, different weapon types, damage versus utility, etc. Things like shock effect for single-target are an option, too - or even electrocute, perhaps, instead of freeze. I think it adds a lot of depth to builds that people haven't really explored that much still yet
I've got a load of wither nodes on my swap at the moment, so I use my second set for applying wither and get all the juice applied to that, and then just damage nodes instead on my main set

setup is pretty complex (it's on a weapon swap) I had to set up specific gems for specific weapon set, it might be the issue I dunno
if you have 30% lightning exposure and 20% lightning exposure on the same enemy, only the 30% will matter

Well, lochtonial caress in PoE2 says you share charges with nearby allies. That's why I was thinking you could share charges with your nearby minions, but the wording is a bit ambiguous if the "sharing" goes both ways, or if you just share your own charges out to others.
If it went both ways, then theoretically, when you grant a change to nearby allies through conduit, they'd each share the charge back to you.

Well in this instance, I can tell you it's not 100% necessary, it's just very good. None of its stats are build enabling, and the only unique line, "Gain (20–30)% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield" doesn't do anything to enable the build, it just gives a lot of energy shield that you won't have without the amulet

So my new base dmg is 60 phys, 80 fire, and 20 cold. The skill is 50% of base attack damage. Does that calculate per damage type? So it would be 30 phys, 40 fire, and 10 cold?

so if I have -41% exposure and -26% from flammability, that means all fire damage I do is increased by both additively? (idk if the dmg increase is just 76% or if its exponential)

Since you get additional points in the map boss tree for like killing them on T16-18 maps. What if i kill a boss in a T18 while i haven't killed one on like T17 before?

So I'm a little torn right now. I made a Bonestorm build as Infernalist and want to swap. I'm thinking Blood Mage (life overflow + leech + crit dam) or Stormweaver (perma arcane surge + phys can shock, can't go archmage unfortunately since it's a channeling skill). Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I'm not 100% sure on the technicals tbh. The practical effect is that fixing Mind Over Matter mana issue requires a lot of investment in mana stuff
the consensus atm seems to be that blood mage is kinda half baked and lacks the sustain to really stay going in higher level content.

infernalist isn't so bad because you can cap the burn. But you lose weapons when shapeshifted

Yeah. Channeling spells with leech is awkward too sometimes cause you're not actively leeching while channeling a lot of the times

for some reason during boss fights it takes half of my mana i have 6k mana and almost instantly removes half

Depends on build, skill/spell. Attacks using weapon damage, spell its own, archmage scaling base damage with your manapool etc

Any build-advice/critique on my endgame merc build? I am using a combination of crossbow stuff for damage and crowd-control via raw damage and inflicting ailments to do more damage, grenades for stationary/boss targets, balistas for extra support and distractions.
This is all on top of my Ascendancy subclass focusing on Cullling Strikes and Decimating Strikes to do significant chunks at the start and last 30% of boss/elite HP.
does anyone here have a a High phys/cold staff I can try on to benchmark my dmg will give collateral. I have an ele staff rn and really cant calc my dmg as ice strike scales of phys.
imo, you need ~500 ES and ghost dance, take off defiance and thick of it and replace with beastial skin. eva as main defensive skill, ghost dance to fill up the es when you get hit.
I notice the surrounding effects often helping to deal with poison/bleed damage when surrounded.
Been running a HC bow build and using monk as a starting class for evasion/ES. I've been pretty consistently getting one shot though and I'm wondering if I'm approaching this wrong. By the time I hit ogham I have about 100 dps on raw gear with the pathing I've been doing. Res is about 30 or so for everything. Life is maybe 200 with 170 ES. Evasion at 30% I think. Should I just focus on pure damage and not really worry about ES/Evasion or should I go something like merc and try for armor/evasion.
My only other class I've run is Titan and went pure armor / life but that wasn't a HC build

Probably depends on build and budget. Rarity, life, mana, or max res soul cores all seem like reasonable options to me
