I'm trying a Mercenary Lightning build ( Galvanic + Shockburst Rounds ) using the Ranger/Bow Stormcaller Arrow to apply Shock. However the arrow never...seems to hit? It applies Shock like 1 out of 6 casts, this doesn't seem right, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong
I have Conduction and Fast Forward on it

what matters with stormcaller arrow is technically the bolt the arrow spawns on its location
so next time you use it I'd look to make sure the arrow is actually spawning a bolt on the enemy or somewhere else

it states that infernal hellhound let minions ignite. does this also include me ? i am not running minions or fire on my demonform. so im not really sure if the hound is even usefull for me. unless it does let me ignite. maybe i can combine a bit of lightning with ignite

I read that crossbow mercs have a very hard time scaling damage without using HoWa, which leaves me wondering if I need to swap to a HoWa version if I want to do pinnacle content in the game.
- what's the pinnacle content in this game? T16+2 maps? +4 difficulty stuff?
- any estimate of the dps needed to do that kind of content? I feel like I've reached the point where I need to spend multiple divines to only get small boosts to my dps. Currently saving for a better crossbow as the last significant dps bump.
- Not related to me improving my build, but there's a lack of scaling options in this game, is it limited to mana stacking (archmage) and stat stacking (howa), or are there other builds/methods that can reach the same power that I don't know of?

Okay so yeah. Its only considering of the 3 bolts hitting. Its a DPS decrease because you can only hit an enemy with 1 projectile from the same skill use (unless a specific exception is made)
Projectiles that make AoEs being exempt
Against more than 1 enemy its a DPS increase
Is there a mapping equivalent to that? Like in poe1 the goal was titanic blight where the stuff was way harder than typical ubers, or something along those lines

I would think uber Zarokh(Trial of sekhemas) or +4 ARbiter is the highest thing possible right now, besides like an 8 mod, +2 levels tier 16 with an extra corrupt from the keystone, with a boss with modifiers from the other keystone, and juiced with crazy tower buffs and really high delirium

No you are turning your 500 dmg hit into a 500 dmg lightning hit not rolling on a lightning skill which is what makes that node usable
Once mine was high enough level to survive I pivoted from meat shield to searing flame/fire exposure/strip away/magnified effect

Good question i honestly don’t know, I imagine the math for the lighting roll still needs to happen and that would make use of the lighting rod. But things don’t always work the way they should as we’ve seen so far. So can’t really say

sometimes stats get frozen until you relog or change zones, especially with shapeshifting
also on that note, weapons are disabled in shapeshift form
he's playing stormweaver so i don't think there's any shapeshifting
to be safe though what do you mean exactly? like what other things could interfere?

Hi everyone, i am playing monk. I am currently at level 85 and i am not doing enough damage. I am following multiple build but i am not having the dps on skill nearly as much as other in the yt videos. What am i doing wrong? I have a staff that does 193-323 physical damage, but the dps for martial tempo is still 8k, but i have seen people having it as 30k+. Can someone help. I have attached my passive tree and weapon
i don't think so, EB converts base ES to base mana. you can't scale ES->then convert to mana
if you have EB then any maximum energy shield passives (including the focus one), will do nothing, because you don't have ES. scaling comes AFTER conversion in poe2, so you can't do crazy things like triple your ES then convert, triple mana, getting 9x mana
out of curiosity, are there any good options for cast on <x> aside from comet (literally never seen someone use anything that isnt comet)

Shooting a 10-fragment Incendiary Shot through a 3-5 damage added Flame Wall doesn't seem to be adding 30-50 damage to it. Which is probably for the best, but I'm not sure how to interpret what mechanic is causing this not to work.

usually shotgun type attacks have a very low weapon damage ratio, the 'added value' is based on 100% weapon damage

if you are also stacking evasion with energy shield this is natural counter synergy with barrier invocation. You need to get hit to take advantage of it

in which case just building up a large damage buffer is all you can do. But I think endgame boss oneshots will just happen. The damage on some of their attacks seems to barely be possible to survive with whatever build

that boss is tough in general because of speed and unpredictability. It's very hard not to get hit by daggers
and im at 3233 mana, with 529 mana regen per sec
if you still have room to push mana up that's the only thing you can do to boost physical damage buffer on such build
for elements obviously elemental resists are needed
yeah one of my rings doesnt have the best mana boost.

it multiplies your base crit chance

that means that base crit chance of a spell will be multiplied by that value. If something can't crit it won't crit

(10+10) * (1+1+1) = 60% crit
having 15% crit chance at base crit damage multiplier will only boost your average damage by like 7%

main reason why distinction for spell crit and crit is made is IMO to avoid martial classes getting ungodly crit stacking by intruding on the part of the passive tree made for casters

for the purpose of calculating crit for spells ignore the "for spells" part. All crit nodes work the same for spells that can crit, like hexblast
difference only exists so attack crit builds can't scale their potentially very high base crit into the stratosphere
but for spellcasters all nodes function identically
So If my main damage source is Hexblast, any crit I use is increasing it anyway. No need to stress over the names and so on?
spells generally have pretty low base crit, that's why casters given more opportunities to scale better with modifiers

Right now clear consists of run into a crowd and left click. That's it. I have contagion, essence drain, and dark effigy with poisons for bosses. But for clear it's such a braindead build. damage is honestly not an issue on even very borked builds. What kills people is not lack of damage

ye. I think flames of chayula is a great way to supplement eldritch battery chaos build
and for 3rd ascendancy I'll go for that high chaos resist, just in time for maps
grabbed something similar but now its 30% light so it should scale a bit better with my tree, missed out on crit and regen tho
it depends. I think chaos monk is better with supplementing a martial weapon build with chaos
for pure chaos caster it's just different, has it's advantages
I also considered chronomancer, I think there's interesting things you can do there

you also dont rly have any options on warrior as reservations anyway
so theres very little reason to not run berserk
theres like overwhelming presence which is somewhat useful for more reliable ignites, but you dont need it. attrition is ok but most warrior setups are hammer and perfect strike or just simply do a lot of damage so its kinda whatever too

QQ regarding Eldritch Battery . I've seen build guides recommend investment into ES recharge rate + ES recharge delay... But do these stats actually do anything when Eldritch Battery is active? They don't appear to increase my mana regen. unless it's an invisible boost

What I’m running into an issue with now is the cost scaling at high skill levels, I knew it was going to be a potential issue but I didn’t expect the cost to double on leap slam going from 29-32

when you unlock ascendancy you get only 2 points to spend. Unlocking blood mage all you can do from the start is your spells will cost a lot of health. And to recover that health you have to kill and pick up blood. That's it, no other option in the beginning

you can lower enemie's elemental resists below zero. Can't do that with armor break. Well, not unless you are a warbringer

no, any crit chance will work for spells. However, spell crit won't work for attacks with martial weapons

So i just grabbed 70% total chance to shock on the tree, using only lightning damage. I use spark which is a relatively low base damage skill and it didnt nearly instantly shock a pack of about 8 common enemies, but eventually shocked 1 when that one got crit... veryinconsistant and makes me not want to specc into it

does anyone actually use weapon set skill points? almost nobody understand what it even means when you get it (including me).
If you press X you swap to your secondary weapon. Using a skill associated with that weapon will automatically swap to it.
You can split any one of your skill points (up to 24 of them) into two, with one being used for each weapon set.
This allows you to do something like have fire rate nodes for one crossbow, and then use area of effect nodes for a second crossbow to shoot grenades
- setting the points can be confusing, first respec the amount of points you want to allocate and then you csn press the I and II ocon on top right to allocate the points (the buttons can both each be toggled on and off*)
But yeah, anyone got a clue about how Seeing Stars works?
for instance, if you've allocated cold damage and freeze chance that doesnt work for your off hsnd skill, you can refund these points, allocate them on the freeze build weapon and then switch to the other set to allocate lightning or fire nodes
i mean if it's just 1ex, i'd just buy two and try if it works with two

I was testing stupid build about cast on minion death + warbringer because totem trigger ancestral spirits which die when you summon another tottem. I was always receiving around 50% from minion death with two or one mace.
It could work but gg implement something like "totem delay". When the totem raise there is a some time to activate ancestral spirits. Without that it would be broken, but I didin't find any way to mitigate that delay.

The another one mace with +3 minion skill is intresting because there is no +minion mod on foci, but I think someone posted a build about that because it was so expensive to test it from the market.

I tried balistas but the artillery one have so much delay between "shoot" and "land", so in most ways it shoot behind the target missing the damage from hit.
I mean, this presumably adds to the support gem that does the same thing, right?

@pale jewel Invoker monk kit is so good. Some people play ice version with herald of ice. Some play lightning version, or int stacking with hova. With CI or without CI invoker is badass and good gameplay with palm teleportation + strikes.

It's one way of playing demon form. I think much easier rather than converting es to hp regen with is bugged at current moment.

i use a build that uses demon mode as a ultimate bosskiller move for now..which means i usally have 30-40 stacks, rarely 50+
less health means my potions can counteract it alot...at least i belive so

Source of damage is irrelevant. Flat damage of any particular element will be counted as base damage, then multiplied by whatever can multiply it and be dealt as part of total damage of the attack. In this case only the cold damage part will contribute to freeze buildup

Current notion is to use Call of the Brotherhood and Shaper of storms, and see if I can stack up enough energy generation to have heralds of ice and thunder infinitely proc cast on shock and freeze freezing & voltaic mark
Although, gas grenade is weird. The cloud itself doesn't actually have any buildup. It just applied a dot
If you go for gas with armor explosions you are probably also using oil, frags, and explosive shot. Or some combination of them. A lot of physical damage will be converted to fire
SeeIng stars being the mace that doubles energy gen, and Shaper of storms makes all damage contribute to shock chance
also herald of thunder has some weird interaction with large shocks @thorny token

There's a support gem that breaks armor on poison. On my gas I run that, then extra armor break, then armor explosion. Even though gas is just a support nade I usually do my trash clearing just using that

is there any way to tell how much this stat is doing, besides what my personal gameplay experience is and guessing? I wish it showed up on my stat screen, same with elemental ailment. If I changed this to another stat, I could cap my res, but it also might be unknowingly carrying me.
The whole stun and ailment threshold thing is very poorly explained tbh
I always felt it does nothing or very little. You'd probably need to stack large amounts of it to feel the difference

You are spending way too much time near the start of the tree. Generally you have to go out further to find best value for your points

Armor break, armor explosion, extra armor break, and...I forgot the 4th one. Not at my PC right now. It's not that important, those is what making gas nade self sufficient as clear and support for big enemies

I have scatter on other skill. You already get 3 grenades if you use the passive and bombard crossbow. Gas covers vast area as is

And if you are very lucky with corrupting bombard crossbow can shoot 2 extra grenades

Honestly for a crossbow merc seems more efficient to keep the health build for armor and ev and take the node to convert ev to armor then build what es you can
You might as well just build for evasion
Then you die when you get hit
Armor sucks, and you are losing out on good double ev/armor nodes, and pure armor nodes are far and not great
You'll die when you get hit even stacking armor this way
Better to not get a keystone and just go for armor gear
I am doing acrobatics, these are my stats. Its the most op node in the whole game imo, it keeps saving my bacon from all kinds of death effetcs, slams and spells

This node might be worth taking if you have a really high evasion value piece of gear and going for armor otherwise. But building for it is just getting no benefit of either pure armor, pure ev, or mix. It's a trap

I suspect you get marginally more armour out of a well rolled ev+armour piece than pure armour
