hello, on which channel i can ask about player skill damages and monster defenses ?
anyone knows why my cast on ignite is stuck at 0% even though I'm igniting enemies? this is driving me crazy
I’ve seen vids of people swapping to cast on minion death
I know its nerfed, but I'm following a recent guide where his cast on ignite triggers all the time, and mine won't even go above 0%
cast on x is now very weak for white mobs, you should see it tick up on uniques
Trigger gem energy gain was not in the right place and it was far too easy to use ailments to trigger spells. One problem with the previous system is that if we balanced it to make triggering happen in boss fights then the triggering would happen far too often during clearing. In order to address this we are now making "Monster Power" part of the calculation for energy gain. This means that it's far easier to trigger skills from Unique Monsters than it is from normal monsters, but you also hit many more normal monsters when fighting. Another issue was using low level skills with unconditional ailment applications such as Flame Wall to ignite enemies for triggering. In order to make the source of the ignite matter we are making the energy gain be dependent on the strength of the ignite. We have also rebalanced all energy gain across the board.

does anyone know what are base resistances of mobs in this game ? especially chaos resistance ? i was assuming it was 0 for chaos but it appears as if its more like 90% tbh
p sure resists depends on mob type some mobs will have more resist than other
im trying to make shockwave totems good, and cannot decide which warrior ascendency is best, any reccomendations? honestly the one with the actual; totem nodes seems kinda weak as idk if dmg from my totems can break armour
i'm casting it with a lvl 19 hexblast on rares and its still stuck at 0%
On the ignite topic how does fiery death support work? I have it on my solar orb but I've yet to see it trigger on my sorc I've started levelling.

does red chaos icon under their healthbar after i curse them mean their resistance is below 0% ?
it's definitly not 90+. don't knwo the "default" values, would be interesting to know. However what i know is that you can enable icons for the health bar on top - where you can see the resistance.
Gold means very resistant - silver resistant and red is vulnerable - which is probably more close to 0%
hmmm how big of a buff dmg wise is the warbringer break? as the one that gives 50% effect of small nodes is VERY strong aswell
i guess gold is like 65%+? no icon is between silver and red.
the thing is, i cast hexblast at enemies with vulnerability that has listed average damage per hit as 3.1k at 55 lvl and i maxed it to get lots of heals from but i get like 40 hp/s for 1 sec per cast per mob... which woould mean my hits are more like 400 than 3.1k
In my experience armor break damage boost is good but not great, armor break is more of a vessel for payoffs like leap slam/sunder/powerful tree nodes.

But yeah titan is very generically good. Wood wall is not to be underestimated for tankiness though. Warbringer is also incredible with the Svalinn shield with Renly's training.
well, there is no way to get leech from spells other than that passive
gloves only have leech from attacks from what i remember

oh yeah, ignite support can be put on skills thatt do not deal fire damage.
but for ignite to be applied, that skill needs to deal fire dmg

Yeah I always have excess ones, even through campaign. If you don't have a skill to level/a new skill you want just stash it for a rainy day/other character.

There are some items and such that benefit you for having ailments/debuffs/taking damage on yourself. For those it is a double upside

Yeah it's bad, the best way to utilize that node right now is just lots of fire mitigation, remember that fire res and all of that applies to that self-damage as well
so 90% max fire res would be the play
so hear me out you get 100% life recoup, get infernal flame and that note, push it to 90% max fire res
since infernal flame is a hit
it triggers the recoup
and you got alot of crit and solved your mana issues in one go
Recoup is good, but it's over 8 seconds by default so it may be a bit slow to keep up

how exactly does this node work ? with it i have 8353 energy shield and 727 life and without it i have 8317 and 706 life, (I also use ghostwrithe) that seems to give very little. What is that % based on ? does it not work with any other passive increases ? Seems extremely weak

that spell just does low dmg but has a lot of projectiles, and id suggest you use gems for projectiles too, not for dmg

i never tried it, but i would say no.
its good when youre not full lightning
i mean if i had 4 ascendancies i would get it on my freeze build, so i can apply shock with my cold spells
normally only lightning contributes to shock chance
so taking that node would in your case cause the 4-77 cold dmg to shock as well
since that's also based on the amount of damage and the amount is really low, it's definitly not worth it

Can I find somewhere how much fire res do enemies generally have ? Casue i apply -40% fire res and 25 exposure that seems enogh for normal mobs, but should I build higher for bosses ? Cause thats just from my flammability and i can also take support gems/passive nodes to make it higher, or also use incinerate for 62 exposure.
Guys. I'm making a witch build that doesn't use any ascendancies. The reason being is because I don't intend on using minions and opting into said ascendancies would be a waste, because they would require setup. Am I crazy or just stupid?

Chrono's just more of a defesnive/utility ascendancy. It has some offensive options but they're a bit weirder and more niche. Compared to Stormweaver which is more offense focused and general purpose.

Chrono's kind of aweird ascendancy where it's never bad but hard to make the absolute most of it
u can play hammer of gods ignite, thats the the best option on chronomancer
Stormweaver is arguably most effective with fire
They both have things that help fire. Something doesn't have to say "fire" to be good with fire. Basically every node the Stormweaver has works with fire (the first shock and chill nodes don't work on their own but the second one that lets all damage shock or chill does).
It lets you shock and chill with any damage type, but it doesnt let you Ignite with any damage type
Elemental Storm also has a fire variant
hey dudes - i got a good quarterstaff for my level, but it has +3 on all melee and now im having big mana problems because of it. Is there a passive talent that I can take to circumvent this? (im level 44, SSF)
Most of the ascendancies in this game are super flexible. Stormweaver and Chrono can both kind of do anything.
Worst case scenario, Chrono is extremely strong defensively

all you need is minion life, 4 brute minion, 2 cleric to resurrect, +minion gem level on gear, crit multiplier scaling and you win the game

yeah but i feel like my monions are more or less useless rn bc i can net get enough of em-
unleash, freeze buildup (forgot the name), astral projection and currently testing stuff out with the 4th. it 1-2 hit freezes 99% of mobs up to t10 (so far)and cold snap+frost bombs wipe whatevers left

poe2 conc effect is weird, p sure if the gem have aoe tag itll work for the aoe but if the damage itself isnt aoe then the damage wont increase ive also seen it on a few other
Ok thanks, sounds exactly what I was doing through campaign + self casting curse which I use with comet and ice bombs. Cold snap for me kind of fell off since I like when mobs remain frozen for more damage from passive and comfort, but yeah it does a lot of dmg.
yeah exactly, and lightning conduit doesn't hit in AoE, but hit ennemies within an AoE
Main thing is does the gem increase the damages or it just debuff the skill without any benefits lol
since lc have no aoe damage component it decrease the aoe and no damage increase
i leave comet for the bosses and cold snap for clearing mobs it works pretty well and also ice nova has a pretty good freeze buildup on most bosses
straight up a pure downside gem 
I seen a few YouTube build putting in concentrated effect on LC ..guess they didn’t do their research enough

The damage not changing on the tooltip is a big red flag …was really hoping is just a visual bug
i almost never use it for packs cuz its not needed, almost exclusively for bosses
also mana issues so yea cant afford it for mobs
I guess my damage sucks... i have like 320 mana per sec with 5.5k es. Yeah I shall try ice nova with astral.. didn't try. A lot of my skill tree is in ES charge nodes & cast speed. -_- I have comet currently at 1.3 cast time. But it really sucks for mobbing xD.. I hide behind ice wall and pew comet.

what you mean by you can't get it? do you struggle finding it or is it greyed out
when i search for it nothing comes up
it's an elemental skill. so first make sure you search in "all gems" or in "elemental"
if it's then greyed out, hover it to see what's missing
At what level would a storm sorc go eldridge battery and everlasting gaze?

i've seen people without any weapon - wouldn't it make sense there maybe a defensive setup with a unqiue shield that helps bridge until you are in demon form again? - or don't you even have a downtime?
the builds are just perma demonform and they aim for no downtime at all

Say I'm using conductivity and lightning exposure on another skill, can i lower their resist to 0 THEN expose them to negative? or does it do exposure then pen so it cant go negative? trying to figure out if i want strip away or a damage support on my charged staff

after that some deadeye stuff and spark
towers are kinda nice for grinding out atlas points quickly

thanks - it works. i think i was confused because i ujsed a poison charm and it showed me the poison effect as it was applied -> my logic was that i don't get the debuff when i am immune. but yeah, i'm just immune to "chaos damage" afterall and not the poison itself.

Hey. As far as I can tell you didn't get a reply. Exposure and -res are mutually beneficial, it doesn't matter in which order they apply because they stack and they do the same thing. Penetration, on the other hand, is applied last, after exposure and -res, hence it is useless if you already send the enemy into negative res.
I don't know about your build, but I should say that with exposure it's generally pretty easy to reach into negative numbers even without the -res.
My sorc build can go as far as -127% cold res right now.
Well, -82% if we're only talking about exposure.
But that still sends mobs into negative res.
oh i didnt realize -res worked differently from pen too, so -res and exposure both work together to make mobs essentially have negative res? thank you for the reply
and pen on the tree is not really that useful except for a clearing skill for mapping or something, assuming you have exposure/curses for bosses
Yes. If it says "-%res" or something then it means it's a flat decrease, just like with the exposure. It's a separate stat simply so that you could stack it with exposure.
Depends on your rotation and how you apply exposure exactly, but generally yes. You get very little value from pen if you already have a bunch of exposure.
Imo it's healthy to have a bit of pen from the worthwhile nodes.

I'm doing a build that has the mana for health passive but i picked invoker instead of chayula thinking insta mana leach and into the breech weren't thaaat OP. Now I have no mana ever and am struggling here, im lvl 50 do i stick it out or restart with chayula
But if you play around your rotation well enough and maybe add some pen on the key skills through support gems, then you won't really need pen in the skill tree at all.
It will likely change, so consider keeping some penetration, unless your rotation when mapping doesn't start with the exposure skill.

Hey, I've been sick of playing Deadeye without Thief's Torment Ring, with the constant mana issues/swapping between CoF/CoS and the Hand of Wisdom and Action Furtive Wraps is too costly to purchase as well, are there any late game builds from other classes that are cheap to gear and without mana issues?

Gemling is flexible, but IMO it takes more game knowledge to take advantage of. Witchhunter is SUPER straightforward, just some damage nodes, some explode for clear.
i definitely say the additional weapon skill points has potentinal and bow secondary with weapon swap in the late game to eletrocute is nice

if your primary mana sustain issue is against bosses you may be served well by the passive charge gain affix .15-.25 per second
as for packs you should be able to just get 1 mana affix on kill on a piece of gear or you can also get it on jewels

Armour has diminishing returns the larger the hit it is receiving. It is fully effective against smaller hits, but against slams that do thousands of damage it is far less effective.

Something to consider is that blackbraid has very low armour itself, when you want to stack armor a TON of it comes from a well-rolled chestpiece with nodes to improve it, blackbraid will hardly contribute to your armour as is so sadly it's just not very good as an endgame item.

I have been using cast on freeze ball lightning with scatter shot so I get about 5-8 balls per prof and then I warp between each ball with the Call of the Brotherhood ring (turns electric damage to frost) which then freezes more enemies and procs cof again which gives me a loop of ball lightnings

If you have Astramentis I could see it since that would make it much more realistic to equip the ES bases without totally forsaking your strength. warbringer is by far the stronger ascendancy for shockwave totems. the totem damage does break armour all by itself, so that saves a support and the overbreak can be a huge amount of dmg on bosses. the 20% DR to totem is huge and the ancestors tank a ton of stuff, as well as giving some decent buffs (50% increased defenses, 10% skill speed, etc)

so other damaging ailment can't be put on you
if there was easy way to get poison on you, I have going for CI would be crucial
so you can't never be ignited and bleeding
Idk ailments from enemies are so non-lethal in poe2, seems unneccesary

you need to think differently. You don't have gear, only shield is protecting you and your allies

Hey guys I'm playing sorcerer and trying to decide between acendencies, chrono or stormcaller,
What does each one exel at, I thought the chrono sounded cooler but what you guys think
Chrono has niche tools and some super solid defensive tools, Stormweaver is a more straightforward elementalist type damage dealer.
I dont know if this is the right channel for this but im a witch class and i want a strong build with my minions that does a lot of boss damage, any recommendations?
is cast on freeze/ele invocation(freeze portion) useless on pinnacle bosses ?
Do they both scale well into the endgame stuff?
do you think they will fix CI and it won't be consider low life and full life at the same time?
Stormweaver is basically the best ascendancy in the game right now at the high end, barring some really crazy stuff. Chrono is fine, slower, but safer like I said. I wouldn't count on Stormweaver/the things she abuses to stay strong for all that long so it's better to just pick what sounds cool to you.

Using time freez requiers some investment to be even usefull
there is only 1 cd spell in the game to make a cd build work
and the 50% cast speed note is very clunky
rocoup might be good but for now its bad since life based builds are bad
if chrono slow gets fixed they will be very good

Scaling damage on any spellcaster is not hard with archmage in its current state
