Is it possible to make a fire witch ''work'' or does it really need to play around spirits and minions ? I focused on fire damage % while also trying to get a good amount of huh... How's it called again... Magical barrier ? I took nodes that increase magical barrier, chaos damage( since i believe fire damage are chaos damage ?) and fire résistance penetration, it's not doing much damage and it is very very squishy i get one or two shot most of the time, will it get better at endgame or should i give up now ?

it depends on what you're thinking of.
There's only one fireskill that is incapable of making a build out of, Firestorm.
Otherwise you can make a fire build pretty easily.

the only reason i'd play maces is if you just want to play melee.
A good reason to not play on warrior is the large majority are all Str-stacking and Gemling str-stack gives you enough HP to make melee mace viable.
How to go about getting Freeze resistance/immunity. Or do i just use the charm?

The warbringer ascendancy is largely useless outside of the shout build. Because armour is completely useless, so negative armour is just as useless.
The Titan ascendancy is good. but str-stacking is done better on gemling
@quasi sinew but yeah I can’t recommend ballistas enough if you’re looking for something unique. I have found not one build guide or YT vid of people playing it, which is surprising, because it’s been very easy to play and cheap to gear for me

if you are evasion, this node is very strong. Monk has no reason to go Evasion only though. it should be Evasion + Energy Shield

Ho yes energy shield sorry my game's not in english i should see to that, i'm using multiple firespells like firewall, the one that make enemys weaker to fire damage and also the one that spawn a solar thing that does aoe everyone of them spawn little flame skull that explode when they die it's pretty... Lol maybe i should focus on one spell and not all those at the same time
I would say you will not have enough life to make melee viable with this.
And you'd be incapable of building into Evasion to make up for that

You need 172 strength just to wear a high tier 2h mace
mana flare is only for spell unfortunately, so i'm not sure if there is any other reason to go for mana
I think your main issue will be getting enough strength and intelligence for gear and gem requirements
The shock chance just doesn't really make sense to go for

Btw I know how you feel man. Not really much build variety in the game yet so when you’re looking for something a bit unusual you kinda just have to wait until more classes and gems come out

ES was made in PoE 2 originally as one of the weaker tools. They removed almost all forms of ES leech, nerfed any form of regeneration through outside sources and effectively removed Zealots oath from viability
CI giving an entire IMMUNITY to chaos is crazy
ES builds right now are generally supported by an underlying defensive mod, like MoM
ye, although i don't think more classes will change much, it's just built this way. They need to make weapon switching more viable so that we can combine different kits
otherwise builds like Blood mage try their hardest to stack a TON of it. to make up for that. so like i said.
ES is only good if you can stack a TON or you have another defensive modifier for it
i mean im just comparing it to other defensive options. Armor isnt that great cause youll still get phys 1 shot. HP stacking is so hard to do with (basically) no flat or % nodes on the tree or from jewel
The best defensive combo right now is certainly ES + Evasion. as Evasion is very good in PoE 2 now that you need much less to reach upwards of 60%

but yeah MoM can also give gella effective life rn with all the mana stacking. Mana seems really strong RN
8k ES with no other defensive stat is really not as good as you think it is. Even archmages right now in endgame will sometimes get all their ES nuked, and be on 0 ES, but a wonderful MoM to keep them from dying.
The really really high ones like 12k are much tankier of course, but most people are using Grim Feast to pull that off which doesn't work in bosses

How does evasion work btw ? Does it substract a % of damage you take based on your evasion ?
armor does not work the same.. 8k armor isn't very good
nah evasion is a % chance to dodge all damage
not all damage is dodgeable without acrobatics

Combining it with energy shield make total sense then 
meant 8k es is pretty trivial to get
I’m running full evasion and really feeling it. Shit sucks
and yeah just evasion in general is really good
They took all the secondary mitigation out of the game from PoE 1 haha
Current defensive tools are:

Armour. As useless as it is in PoE 1, both for players and for Monsters

Energy Shield. Has almost zero ways to regenerate currently and thus needs very high levels of scale to make up for that, or a second defensive layer. The most obvious situation where ES tends to fail is places like Ultimatum. Where most ES players will tell you is pretty painful to deal with.

Evasion. Very strong as the Entropy System generally guarantees your percentage will dodge at that rate. The downside is that Life is so difficult to stack that Life based Evasion hits a hard wall around 2.5K Life + Acrobatics. It is optimal to use with Energy Shield instead.

Mana as Life. Its basically Life but better. Really no downside, only whether your class can pull it off

Evasion dodges Hits and Spells But not ground effects or Melee SLAMs
Slams are extremely common in PoE 2. so evasion falls apart if you don't get Acrobatics. Once you get Acrobatics you dodge almost everything.
Evasion uses Entropy, essentially if you have 60% evasion, PoE will make it so most of the time, you will always dodge things at a 60% rate
the more evasion fails, the higher chance evasion will succeed.

yes. ES has much better synergy as well because ES only recharges when you don't take damage. Evasion makes it so you only take one hit usually per blue moon. so often times you can get hit, walk away and ES will recharge by the time you are ready to attack again

Energy shield is strong but not as strong as videos make it seem. Half of the current overpowered ES builds are all running on an interaction that is almost certainly getting removed.
Which is pretty much Gain as % of Maximum Energy Shield . This is happening before conversion and giving people ginormous scaling energy shield
Acrobatics is generally taken around 12K-16K evasion.
With a Wind Dancer aura, yo ushould have a pretty significant chance to evade by then
it is 70% less Evasion **Rating**
Not Evasion chance.
So your flat evasion will fall, but flat evasion scales on a rounded curve. Basically if yo uhave 80% chance to evade, you will not go down to 10
Make sure to quality your Wind dancer

Poison Magnitude and Projectile damage
Bleeding is extremely strong, however there is no need to go Blood mage for bleed. The only bleed centric node is for spell bleed. and all physical spells are weak right now until we get the staff bases for Reap and Exsanginuate

Bleeding has really poor map clear however and thats kind of the issue. the only good physical skills in the game are Frenzy charge bow skills and Mace skills.
Mace skills have bad clear and speed, Bow skills are good

Bleed does damage regardless of moving. Moving doubles the damage of bleed.
But instead of having your target move, just get the Beetlebite shoes which makes any enemy in your presence automatically aggravate their bleeds
Pretty much any class works for bleed mace as long as you can stack tons of str and life
Blood mage technically offers you a wacky health stack but this health stack is very mid and is designed for crit in mind.
I would recommend chronomancer instead if you really want to do a mage. But you should really just stop trying to use mage

Maces have extremely low base crit and crit is nerfed across the tree.
With a 10% crit rate quarterstaff, you achieve about 33% crit rate from taking a large majority of crit nodes as a monk. The monk has more crit than almost anyone else in the game.
Basically if you go mace, the only way you pull off crit is through Sandstorm Visage unique helmet
sunder has 100% garanteed crit consuming broken armour
You can get good gear for like 5 ex each tbh
you can just buy a level 79 armor and use it when you get there.
If you look for a good high armor + Evasion + res armor in exalts, you can certainly find one pretty reasonably cheap
Then it jumps into that divine price range for BiS/ pre-BiS gear
So for right now, spend 5 exalt each for my armor and gloves and get decent gear, and once I'm 79 try to get the "best" stuff?
it does but you have to break the armor in the first place. Boss armor can take a ton of time to break sometimes and its still not as good as it seems.
But yes you can grab crit damage nodes and ignore crit chance, try and spam armor break until armor breaks and then use a single hit of sunder.
It’s when you start to amass divines that you should go for your endgame gear

I don't know what to do.. i keep testing the damage and no matter what i do it seems like the gem that gives 25% cold/-50% fire or 25% fire/-50% cold does absolutely nothing for my damage, doesn't make it worse or better.

Would adding 40% armor to my body armor through runes be worth more than getting 5% res on it through a rune + 20% armor to cap out my fire resist?

usually adding the increased armor/evasion/Energy shield is preferred since you can get a passive point node that scales off of your armor.

a lot have recommended crit now, the problem is at base you only have 10% flat crit chance (AT MOST), so anything on top of that only gives a small few percents at a time. If you go crit you basically have ot go all in
10% assuming you get 5% god roll modifier
Yeah realstically you'll get about 9% at best
so any 10% you add onto that is barely 1% extra crit chance

need help, so when im back in act 1, these is my true res with all my gear adding up, but when i go into end game, its show up with the stats on the right, and even if i go into act 3, my stat is reduce for some reason?
I think i figured it out, % increases to fire damage messes everything up!!! Blueflame bracers only converts flat fire damage into cold.. On armor you can have % increases, but not on skill gems
the +1crit from skill tree counts as base, am i understanding correctly?
later in acts and in endgame your resists get lower and lower
each act reduces your resists by 10%
so by act 6 you get -60% all resists
but if you do all the optional quests you get +20% all resists

But i don't understand why i wouldn't take a quaterstaf with a LOT of phys damage, instead of just a little

poe1 reduces you by -60% as well, but the mods over there for resists are higher

I got 394 str. I got passive that increase damage by 1% for 15str, so... 394/15=~25%
so, we got Mace Strike (just auto attack) for 9728 dps
and we got hammer of gods for 56836 dps
now I adding this passive.
and... WHERE IS MY 25% ???
Mace Strike 9728 + 25% = 12160
Hammer 56836 + 25% = 71045
But when I add point I see only 10346 and 60441

The way I think it works is all your base or flat damage gets converted first and after that all the rest of the damage gets calculated. So increases to fire won’t do much with the gloves on but increases to cold should. Take the conversion of and you lose that cold and it’s the other way around. Assuming the ring is the only source of fire damage.
how does Herald of Ice work with Long Shot/Close Combat? Is it distance from you or distance from the shattered corpse?

After testing i've found that any fire gets converted to cold, but any support gems with fire added to skills does not get converted at all. So adding fire dmg with support gems does not work on my build.

blueflame gloves will convert the majority of your damage for e.g. Fire spells
the conversion tooltip explains this: all conversion happens at once in a single step
so phys dmg that converts to fire via the skill will not get converted a 2nd time

its always from you as the gem says because herald is not separate entity

pen will apply last, so bunch of your pen will still remain useless
even if you start adding exposure and curses on top
Most ppl just prefer to run exposure + curse over pen
diminished returns, I would see where else you could put those points to gain damage in other areas
crit isn't really in a good enough place to scale now. Main thing is getting a better weapon, proper supports, and like300-500% incr dmg on tree

You just stack and stack whatever the highest number is? whether elemental or physical. If 100% phys is getting converted to cold

you're not doing much igniting anyway i imagine
since ignite chance depends on fire dmg
so technically elemental damage bonus % is one of the best hidden stats on weapons, since it doesnt show a dps increase but it actually does increase dps if using anything that isnt pure phys
if bell is a melee skill, sure
you need str to meet the dex and int reqs

pretty sure you need source of physical damage to bleed. Just like you need source of elemental damage to inflict afflictions. So, only physical damage spells would have a chance
I believe normally only physical damage can cause bleed and the hit has to remove life (can't bleed if you only hit energy shield), but otherwise as far as I know spells can just cause bleed in PoE2 (unlike PoE1)

The best reading I can have of this (along with Sunder indicating that it interacts with accuracy) is that
- Accuracy is needed to hit with all Attacks (incl slams and AoE).
- Evasion only works against attacker's Accuracy in the case of Proj and Strikes.
So for AoE Attacks (incl Slams), the Accuracy still matters but Evasion doesn't.

Is it possible to do the same skill different supports with cast on??
is this like a flat 40% spell damage or 40% of total damage increase?
40% more, so if you do 1000 damage with it you do 1400, pretty simple
on average that support is 20% more damage, gets worse with cull on top etc but yea
what Im asking is if it behaves like support tree passive or if its a multiplier at teh end. That would be a very big difference
the difference is "increased" and "more"
increased has diminishing returns and is added together
more is multiplied with eachother
tree can also have more damage etc, bu usually its increased damage

you can slap same skill as you are using on cast on but idk if you can slap multiple copies of same skill on same cast on

Is there a site that shows what support gems goes into which skill. I fucked up a bit and mixed things a bit.
I am using Mercenary + Crossbow, I don't want a full blown guide. Just like here's somewhat optimal support gem to the right gem

If they apply, yes. Read the supports.
E.g. some will say "support any skill that hits" so yes it work with ballista.
I just like a simple guide, I've messed up and moved things around and now I am confused.
Pick a damage skill, match the damage type with supports. Match status types with support, etc. You can clear campaign on intuition alone

So the tooltip for projectiles says that any one target will only be hit by one projectile from a given skill/spell... Is that true? And does that include stuff like spell echo/cascade?
I have a bow with low dmg that gives +2 to all skill gems.
How much dmg is that worth, heh? When do I know to switch the weapon?
Ballista uses attacks so the first one works.
The 2nd one says "supports any skill that deals damage" so ballista also works.
The 3rd one supports ammunition skills, ballista is not an ammunition skill.

You can see how much the dmg effectiveness changes with lvl
So like if the dmg of your skill goes from 25 to 27%, that's like 8% more damage
