You can see on this video I generate 3 frenzy charges, then ferocity support consumes charges, but after charges are gone there is no change in the skill speed. With the support consuming charges I have the same speed as normal. I also tested with other skills but had no success so far
iirc acrobatics just lets you evade aoes
so like if you can just run out from the aoe you dont really need it
so those balls or spells which mobs usually send (like a missle/projectile) dont count as aoe?

What's the difference between extra damage gains and increased thingies?
Extra is stuff like "gain 10% of damage as physical damage". Increased is just all the "%increased X damage" on the skill tree
So, for example, increased spell damage and increased cold damage stack multiplicatively?
They share a "damage bucket"
So if you have 50% increased spell damage and 25% increased cold damage, that's 75% increased damage total (assuming all your damage is cold)
So you multiply by 1.75
So they are stacked additively.
You add them together to make a single multiplier

Yeah, crit damage will account for all of the increases and %more and act as an additional multiplier on that (if you roll a crit successfully)
So if I were to hit 200 and got a crit, it would become 400, even though my base damage is like 100.

There's another damage bucket - "increased damage taken" - that comes from debuffs on enemies. For instance, shock will apply increased damage taken to enemies. So if you shock for 15%, that's a 1.15x multiplier
This is separate to you dealing increased damage - this is the enemy taking 15% increased damage

This is something you basically add to your weapon's base damage. So if your weapon deals 100-120 physical damage, for instance, and you get 10-15 added physical damage, then you can treat it as a combined 110-135 physical damage
Which you'd then convert, multiply, etc

In theory, yeah. Although ignite has higher chance to be applied the higher the fire damage is relative to the enemies' ailment thresholds (which is based on their health) so you may struggle to ignite consistently against stronger enemies

Yeah, if you're a cold build you'll have chill consistently, freeze sometimes and ignite sometimes so that node's fairly decent at the worst of times, and very good at best!
tho you can just cast flame wall to guarantee an ignite

It is now more difficult to chain-freeze enemies, by reducing the amount of Freeze Buildup applied after a Freeze has been applied.
Does this mean the target gets a buff against freeze buildup even after the target has thawed or does it mean it's only harder to gain freeze buildup on already frozen enemies? As in does this effect wear off completely once the target thaws?

First of all, any flat increase to the energy shield whether it comes from items or nodes goes towards the base shield, right? Which is then used to calculate the %increased maximum energy shield, correct?
Second, what exactly contributes to the base mana pool? So that I know what % increased maximum mana uses as base.

Correct. It's worth noting that "increased energy shield" on items is a local modifier, and therefore applies as a modifier to that item's base value. See this random example item; the circled energy shield value being blue means it's been affected by the modifiers on the item. So it's this 39 energy shield that would then be affected by you picking up "increased energy shield" on the passive tree
Getting flat mana on the tree or items contributes to you base mana pool. So this example item has "+26 to maximum mana" - this would then be multiplied by any increases to maximum mana you pick up on the passive tree (or on any items that have increased maximum mana as a stat)
What about intelligence? Does it contribute to the base mana pool too?
You have 0 mana. X% of extra lightning damage for each 100 max mana means you'll get 0% extra lightning damage

They're ignited, but not chilled. That's your Freeze buildup
Or is the -25% chill
poe2db.tw will answer those questions. Modifiers -> modifiers link. Lazuli rings by default give extra flat mana, but poe2db will tell you all the explicit modifiers you can get on a piece of gear.

Hello everyone. Thanks for taking a moment to check my question.
I’m maining a warrior and I’m doing a very traditional Tank build with the main focus on armor / resistances / block chance on one hand and high stun rate on the other. I’m tanking for friends who are casters and all I do is keep the mobs / bosses stationary for 80-90% of the fight and stun them while my mates melt faces. No armor break needed, no damage needed either. Just an RP build of a Warrior Pure Tank.
That being said, I wanted to ask a few questions about stuns. So I became a Titan, and I was wondering which skills grant the best stun build up. So far, it’s been the Shield Charge, however as I’m looking at the Titan tree, it seems that I should resort to slams for stunning. Is there a point where I should move from Shield Charge to a Slam attack (like Rolling Slam or some-such)? Or is there a way to turn Shield Charge into a slam attack so that all the Titan passives would work? Which skills are better for stunning for someone playing ONLY with shields?
A side question - any info on what the 3rd ascendancy class might be for the Warrior?

Ah, one last thing, if you do not mind. Does the %increased Critical Hit Chance work with both spells and attacks? Meaning it contributes to the final critical hit chance of the spell along with the %increased critical hit chance for spells. And if it's the case, then the value the %increased Critical Hit Chance takes for base is the spell base crit hit chance, correct?
If it doesn't specify, then it applies to anything that can crit
If it doesn't specify then yeah, it'll work with both! Some sources will be specific, others won't, but if it can apply then it will all go into the same "increased critical strike chance" bucket
And yeah, the spell base crit hit chance is what it will multiply
There are ways to add flat crit, also - like the Malice skill from sceptres, or critical weakness
And these go towards the base number then, right?
And those will be added to your base spell crit chance before multiplying by increased chance, yeah

That's a common way to compare things, though. Something is "good" if it's hardcore viable, because in order to be hardcore viable it must meet these criteria:
- Easy to obtain
- Safe to use
- Vastly increases damage and/or survivability
So demon form fails on the second criterion

So i have just reached infernalist ascension yesterday and pushed further. I run arsonists with flame wall and raging spirits. That’s basically whole flow, spawn wall/contagion/essence drain and fire resistance curse up if enemy is beefy.
So costs of Arsonists got higher with the last patch. Do you think it would make sense to switch them to something else? Straight nerf

i mean you could just stick with arsonist they are in no way bad. Kinda depends on your build, if you running MoM stick with them for sure, if not snipers are a option

For exploding you want to have as little resists on minions as possible, just making sure you have that set right.
I don’t have any resists.
Also clerics might make them take longer to explode too, unsure.
I find it easyier just to play normal srs and not instability

Total damage (or effect, in this case) = (Base % chance + ∑base % chance additions) * (∑%increased) * (1 + ∏%more) * (1 - ∏%less)

Just grab all the damage multipliers you can get. Either SRS or arsonists should get imolate for instance.

Sorry for a slightly slow reply! I guess I should have mentioned this earlier with the damage formula stuff, but "reduce" is the opposite of "increase" - ie, you just subtract it from that "bucket" of stats - and "less" is the opposite of "more", meaning it's multiplicative. So 25% less magnitude of chill means there's a 0.75x multiplier on all of your chill effects.
That said, being able to inflict two chills at the same time makes up for this. The default maximum chill without this node is 50%, and with this node it's 35% but you can inflict two, so up to 70% chill total. And if you weren't hitting 50% chill effect before, this node is effectively a 1.5x chill effect multiplier for enemies you're able to hit twice - you have 0.75x chill effect, but you inflict two chills.
It's a strong defensive ascendancy to pick up!

I can just hit them twice with different spells. Also, will two separate projectiles from a single spell stack two slows on the enemy if they both hit it?

How?
It can be twice with the same spell, but it has to be separate instances of damage. So if two separate projectiles hit, it will give you the chance to apply two chills. Or if you're using a spell like Frost Wall, for instance, then two separate explosions from the walls breaking will count as two hits

This one I'm not actually sure about. I would assume that it does count as base exposure, and therefore increased exposure effect would scale that as well. But you might need to find someone else who knows, or test it yourself in game - it should be a fairly easy one to test! Grabbing a small amount of increased exposure effect is likely a good thing to do anyway!

"Increased" is always additive. And recently effects don't stack, it just cares if you have or haven't chilled an enemy, not how many times.

Multiplicative things say "more" instead of "Increased." They're pretty rare, very few nodes on the tree are like that.

Debuffs on enemies in general are usjally multiplicative with buffs on you. So shock too.

Not sure how good double shock and double chill are. The exposure node on storm weaver is kind of insane. Personal I'm still using Frost Walls.
Why does 'damage with bow skills' mod on quiver increase my Poisonous Concoction tooltip damage, but 'damage with bows' on tree doesn't increase it? I thought both mods shouldn't work at all for PC 😦

Bosses are still spending a lot of time frozen for me. They're not permafrozen but freeze definitely still isn't useless. They also still do decent damage themselves and are still working as a way to shotgun fireballs.

It doesn't directly apply to them. It can indirectly hell with the since they care about the hit damage. Chill isn't a damage multiplier, though, and more damage only increases shock chance, not strength
But yeah, don't just assume freeze is bricked based on one line in the patch notes without even trying it

I went fireball/frostwall because I wanted a fireball thing for double ailments initially but waiting for double things, so maybe it just won't work out with ailments then.
I haven't tried the double ailments, so can't comment on those. I've thought about going double shock eventually, might try it when I get my last ascendancy points

I wanted to ask a few questions about stuns. So I became a Titan, and I was wondering which skills grant the best stun build up. So far, it’s been the Shield Charge, however as I’m looking at the Titan tree, it seems that I should resort to slams for stunning. Is there a point where I should move from Shield Charge to a Slam attack (like Rolling Slam or some-such)? Or is there a way to turn Shield Charge into a slam attack so that all the Titan passives would work? Which skills are better for stunning for someone playing ONLY with shields?
A side question - any info on what the 3rd ascendancy class might be for the Warrior?

i have 90 spirit and only one 20 spirit passive equipped, when i enter demon form my spirit tab shows 90/90
when im in human the spirit tab is 70/90
No clue then never used it, maybe demon form counts as weapon set and you have to enable the aura there again

atm poison is 10% of phys and 10% of chaos damage initial hit if i remember correctly. but with gloves u can even go elemental and it will make prolly 10% of all damage

On my Monk i may see a slight difference against bosses but it is not that notable. But Monks got a big buff via combat frenzy anyways.

they increased the dmg growth per level up to 50% on lvl 25. Im lvl 21 now so ok I dont get teh full 50% but I should be getting more than freaking 200 dmg buff and no I didnt change anything, literally just logged in and compared to the screen of my dmg yesterday before logging out

I did a check on one cruel act 3 boss yesterday and i was getting more powercharges than before. But for extra charges i use Hand of Chayula with Snipers Mark.

If you are playing trade then get Kitokos Gloves (for 1ex last time i looked ) + Resonance node + Combat Frenzy (30 Spirit) and you are mostly done for powercharges.

Why does electrocution matter in particular/
Combat Frenzy gives you a frenzy charge when you electroute an enemy. And resonance gives you a power charge instead of a frenzy charge
And Combat frenzy got buffed so that it can give you a charge every 2 secs or so before it was every 5 secs

I have 4 maximum power charges.
When I have 2 and activate Charged Staff it activates with 3 charges.
Whrn I have 4 power charges and activate the skill I get 4 charges on Charged Staff.
So would you use kitoko's still? At what point should I ditch kitokos?
You have to try if you can electrocute without them. You have to use the electrocution support on one lightning skill then. Dunno if that is enough.

A crit on Sniper Marked Bosses does give you a frenzy charge which then turns into a power charge due to resonance
And you get enfeeble on top plus Chayula is easier to use than Siphoning strike

The thing with Kitoko is that aside all its downsides the electrocution buildup even on bosses is waaay higher than just having one skill with the electrocution support. You hit bosses with Charged staff, Flurry and Tempest bell, thats three sources of lightning damage, so the build up is way faster and you can still shock.
I am inclined to keep it but i am not at mapping atm so take it with a grain of salt. Atm it works perfectly and my dam is pretty good.

Resistances are Suffix, defensive stats like Energy Shield are prefixes
you can have both resistances and energy shield/armour/evasion
so you will want to find items that boost your defenses and your resistances at the same time
or have your resistances on jewelry - rings, amulet, belt

low level uniques rarely have end game relevance, even in PoE 1 that chest is one of the best league start items but is outgrown rapidly in favor of the better uniques or a good rare
what are your defenses like, are you on armour, evasion, energy shield? 2k life is definitely low and thats a current problem of the game - Life is hard to increase so you want them on like every piece of armour and where-ever else possible or you want to cover it with a large energy shield

you will want to hunt or trade for a high PURE ES helm becase there's a really good Notable on the passive tree that grants +2 ES per 1 ES on your helmet - definitely go for that.
300ish or more Energy Shield helmet will give you a lot of Evasion
pure ES helm and pure ES chest is ideal, with increases to ES on the tree

these 3 notables you should have, and upgrade to a pure ES helm like I said, would be a good start

So, apart from herald of ash what other spirit ability I could run on my grenadier. I kinda feel I don't even need much else. I tried banners, but I've not seen one activate at all. Everything seems low impact. Might just fill herald of ash with passives

defensive ones, Arctic armour - and if you're evasion you can get ghost dance and wind dancer
if you use poison you can get Plague Bearer to get a poison nova
I've been using wind dancer pretty much because it gives you a cool ghostly trail. I don't think banners activate because the way I play grenadier I barely do any hits on enemies. I think it's a criterial. It's all aoe explosions
Even then, bonuses banners provide seem so incredibly lackluster

They could use a big buff, or five

Takes 100 Spirit, auto curses everything nearby. Everything besides phys damage over time is supported by one of the curses. Defensive curses are also quite good!
Uh, fire and some physical I think. My playstyle is pretty much oil into frag, into explosive shot to detonate the entire screen. Gas for armor break on bosses. That's it
flammability would increase all fire dmg taken by enemies in your aura
so Blasphemy aura, socket in Flammability Curse and some curse support that increases the AoE - it can cost 60 or 84 spirit for this

I'll have to think about the curse thing. I've been loving grenadier so far. I'm entering cruel now and so far just bully everything. By act 3 I saw bosses chunk for third of their health with my opening salvo, great feeling
Palsteron just told me ye on stream, he is experienced with POE so I trust him ^^ (both %increased Attack Speed with Crossbows and % increased Attack Speed)
so if you find the spirit for it: Blasphemy - support with Flammability, Heightened Curse (+24 spirit cost), ritualistic curse
And if you can move the Magnifier support from wherever you have it to Blasphemy to make the aura even bigger
During acts, your current weapon is gonna be 99% of your power. If you’ve recently bought a 1exalt weapon that’s good for your level you will steamroll that level bracket

Atm Im running a one button win build and the lowered resistances will really keep you running and gunning
yea whether on self cast curse or on curse aura, lowering resists is big

just wanted to add another thing to this, the Doryani prototype is in PoE2 - giving your own lightning res to enemies so you want super negative lightning res (ventor's gamble rings helps with -40 lightning res!) so negative res are still a big thing
I just looked at the witch hunter tree and I have no idea where you don't see the synergy with grenades.
Witch hunter looks so strong defensively and offensively just from the concentration nodes. Also exploding enemies pairs well with more explosions imo

Well, it's all explosions the way I play. The only direct hit I can do is explosive shot. And I don't care if I miss. All it does is detonate the payload of nades and has its own explosion

Gas grenade doesn't even damage with the cloud. Cloud seems to do nothing, it just applied the dot in that area. You can even see it linger when you blow up the cloud

A lot of abilities have multiple "activations". Like explosive shot has a hit, but aoe explosions happens separately. You can even see different tabs for them in skill info

IDK about other classes, but everyone playing Stampeed on Warrior is dumb, it is one button build.... same as POE1, which is what GGG tried to avoid

You can use stampede on any class though. It sounds like it's an issue with stampede, not warrior. Also the shakeup happened less than 24 hours ago. We'll see what happens
yea if you check Gas Grenade, the explosion of the gas is included in that skill and its not a skill that Hits

As I progress through the end game with my grenade boy I'll keep making sure I ignore accuracy. Just to see if it even matters on such build. Since nearly all my damage from explosions it should become easily apparent

Can you screenshot it? Because if it isn't a hit it must be a damage over time. Does the explosion just ignite as though hitting?
You can check your crit chance and damage in the skill pane (dps tab). If you're not building for crit, resolute technique is almost always a dps boost
Gas grenade has 3 components afaik. The "hit" is when it pops. It can deal a bit of damage. The cloud applies the dot, doesn't do the damage itself, and gas explosion is third. Triggered by ignited enemies and detonate abilities

Every "instance of damage" in poe must either be a hit or damage over time. If it's not damage over time, it must be a hit. And if it's an attack, it therefore must be affected by accuracy
