10% electrocute buildup + lightning dam
That's from legion Poe 1
i know man, i run it myself on T15 - but i don't think vids are out yet of the new interactions
no im saying you can see how it used to chain
its not gonna do that now
im guessing armor explosion cant trigger other armor explosions now
like it can armor break the enemy
but they wont explode
armor break can cause armour explosion if the armor is fully broken, so if you combine it with full break on heavy stun - the chain potential is still there
was just about to respec from leap slam into a stampede setup, gonna really suck if it's just trash now
thats literally what they are stopping
Need help with a question - if my skill converts 80% of physical into cold. What happens to the other 2 elements if i use a tri elemental weapon?
they are likely making it so that only damage from the skill with armor explosion support causes explosions
full break on heavy stun is a seperate gem though, its unrelated to the armor explosion gem - the gem just says fully broken armour explodes
basically armor explosion support used to support itself
If it's added lightning ot fire nothing happens bcz they're not phys
nothing
so they wont be included in the damage calculation i see
it does the elemental damage
no
it just doesnt get converted
you still do the damage
they will still be added
oh
Telling you guys, boneshatter is back on the menu
you will do the added elements on top of the cold damage
itll still be multiplied by Ele damage mods and then do ontop of the cold i see
Lightning + fire + cold + 80% of phys to cold + 20% phys
ty
i got this staff with 110 % increased ele dam. My skill converts 80% of phys to Lightning. So does the lightning from the skill gets increasd by the ele dam affix?
is it increased elemental damage to attacks?
i think so it is on a quaterstaff
Lightning damage is elemental, yes.
so thats a good stat actually
Yes, that is a good stat.
Cant read patch notes
yeah it should be
can I expect to drop lvl14 spirit gems in act3 crual ? blink + cast on critical
thanks
Is there a quest that gives spirit
you get 100 spirit over the campaign
there are some bosses that do
is there a website to find all mods an item can roll with?
hey guys how much accuracy should i be aiming for? my sunders keep missing :/ ~level 50ish, got zero accuracy atm lol
Oh I thought U could get 110 spirit
ah its a focus
Hi. This has probably been asked a few times but is there a poe2 build planner for the passives?
so you cant use it with that life cost staff
30 at Freythorn King of the Mists (Act 1), 30 at Azak Bog boss Ignakduk (Act 3), and again Ignakduk in cruel mode act 6 for 40
Ty
From some of the side bosses
So there's no vial that gives +10
damn
Ya ok poe2db
no other spirit from campaign
maxroll has one
rest must come from gear or certain passives
kaom must have been a terrible cheerleader
anyone able to log in?
Kekw
I like the maxroll planner
that could be a lot of healing if you consume and generate charges fast enough
Am relatively new to phys in poe2. If u're playing a full phys skill is having a set up to fully armor break a must?
i may actually end up doing that
there's some nodes
and then you basically block generate charges and consume
Thanks all, I think maxroll is wrong, since it specifies a skill i cannot find
?
more healing
Yo do we know how % increased interacts with ailments? If I'm rainbow bleeding with bloodmage (all 3 elements) and I get % increased phys, will that scale the bleed damage since the bleed itself is phys damage?
im alr at 15 but im ele, i want to switch to phys but im not a warrior. Do you have any suggestions on how to armor break?
if you dont have a way to break either via passives or skill u willl cry
Kingsguard was cool in poe1 using Romira's Banquet to cycle generating power charges / losing them, and Voll's Devotion to gain an endurance charge everytime you lose a power charge, and then using discharge to consume all your charges and do damage
i think the increased phys applies to the blleed probably
Does anyone know if there are any good ways to use Weapon Set Skill Points/Weapon Swapping for Minion Builds?
Was neat with something like cyclone Mjolner which triggered discharge rapidly
Bleed is based on the damage of the hit that applied it, so increasing damage increases the bleed.
if your on pc hold alt and hover over bleeding
if you're not a warrior i recommend getting nodes on passives or converting
it will probably tell you
I wonder if we have anything cool like that so far
I'm guessing so too, but they changed things so that now the total hit matters not the base, so dno if % increased now only applies to the base hit
Ailments are not increased by %increases to damage.
aw
Are titan stampede explosions dead now or is there another solution? Also maybe herald of ash will carry
Ah okay
None, im rainbow bleeding w/ blood mage
trying to do flicker strike on monk with full phys
thats the dream lol. that shield was 100+ ex now probably 10s of div
The only thing that increases ailment damage is scaling the initial hit or increased damage taken ono the mob like shock.
you dont want to do that anyway
ah right its based on the damage of the hit
i was misremembering
I'm going painters gloves, so gotta get creative
i have a plan but i dont have the armor breaking part worked out. Does armor break by itself without any gem supports or passives?
like, why they targeting cold sorcs tho??
critical hit chance, and crit hit chance for spells. multiplicative or additive stacking?
They changed it this way to prevent builds that did 0 damage on hit and just scaled ailment
thats not gonna work on bleed
did you miss the part where I'm a blood mage lmao
How much freeze/ailment threshold is necessary to drop thawing charm?
better to convert so you can get the freezes and shocks for easy frenzy sustain
elemental damage converted to
Increased chances all scale additively with each other.
Where are you getting bleed chance from? I want to try bleed Blood Mage but getting bleed chance seems so difficult
your elemental damage can contribute to the bleed
but the bleed will still do physical damage
chayula is the reasonw hy
ES leech can only be physical
They just buffed bleed support to 50%, there's 30% chance on tree north of of witch, and then 20% can be made up for with jewels
why are you using painters gloves?
Yes, which is why I was trying to figure out whether % inc phys would scale the bleed damage
ie. the bleed itself
Wasnt sure if % inc damage types scaled ailments of that type outside the hit
but the dmg will be reduced because you cant armour break when vs high dmg enemies
high armour
NOTES FOR NEW BUILDS, DONT TEST IN PRODUCTION
what ways are there to armor break with just gems?
yes
Is there a dummies guide to "Magnitude"? I'm not high IQ enough to understand the in-game tooltip explanation
So I can ignite and then use fiery death support to prolif bleeds, which ignite and continue chaining
It's just a multiplier
Any other higher level minion builds that wanto to theory craft?
theres a gem that breaks for 15% of dmg dealt
What skill are you using? Only having a single skill that can bleed for clear and single-target sounds a little rough
cant remember if its phys or all dmg
Looking at flameblast for bossing, arc or exsang for clearing
a multiplier of what
stupid question: converted damage, only gets damage increase from the damage type it is converted to, right? It doesn't get both, i'm guessing
It's physical damage
is Mind over Body + eldrich battery viable ?
Of the effect of the ailment
i kinda rather have that extra energy sheild
Conversion happens first in poe2, yes.
You don't double dip
Absolutely will need to make sure I do enough phys damage to armor break though
thanks.
that would make it multiplicative, it would be too strong
or have a secondary skill to armor break
In meantime, here's new node cluster
- 8% lightning damage 10% elec buildup
- 8% lightning damage 10% elec buildup
- 10% lightning damage
- 5% skill speed 30% elec buildup
Took it right before server crash
im also not 100% sure if painter tech will work for clear
depends on how consistent the bleeds/ignites are from corpse explosions
servers are back up
U mean matter? And yes
log in everybody
Ooo. Where is it in the tree
ah yes matter
but in theory painters gloves allows you to ignite with any skill
which allows you to use fiery death to prolif bleeds
how do bone skills get armour break?
Right in the middle between ranger and monk
Heyo, super general question, I'm running a poison ranger(pathfinder) build and Im transitioning from lightning arrow into gas arrow now
until i beat the next boss that gives additional spirit am I better off running Wind Dancer or Plague Bearer as my single spirit passive/skill until I can run both?
@round escarp cant i just slap on devastate - inflciting heavy stun also fully breaks armor
there's armor break on crit w/ phys spells on tree
bless your kind heart
that or armor break support
or be warbringer
ya or that
You can, depends how quickly you build stun break armour.
anyone know if fortress support gem reduces ignite damage for flame wall?
im HOPING beetlebite are okay for aggravating bleeding
otherwise i have to work an attack into my build
which is a PITA
Shockwave totem?
can use it without martial
dont think that works with your crits aggravate bleeding
totems arent you
unless thats changed in poe2
does toxic growth do full chaos damage?
how about exposed wounds? - "break 30% increased armour on enemies affected by ailments" does this ever fully break them?
hello i was looking if somebody could give me a good duo synergy build that could work together well
totems are you, you arent your totems
Anyone already running adorned?
so should work imo, atleast a test is worthy
ya worth testing
also have to get their crit rate high tho
which isnt really worth doing imo
but you HAVE to go that route if the boots arent sufficient
I wanna make an archer as it looks rlly fun, but do we know if its gonna be nerfed soon? im not sure exactly what archer build yet but i dont wanna build it to be destroyed
Yo guys im new in poe, Is it possible to extend the duration of NOT getting staggered while blocking? This stagger bar is based on some specific stat?
I'd assume it works as long as you stay in the 6m which is most the screen anyways
no that wouldnt break iteself it just increases the break value,
I think it's based on ur stun threshold
That's the problem, it's when they ENTER your presence -- ie. it aggravates the bleed on them when they come within 6 meters
Ah I see
it doesnt say "aggravates bleeds on enemies in your presence"
so you'd have to run out and run in lmao
so you need 1) high enough damage to clear without aggravated
and 2) be able to consistently leave and enter presence on bosses
so its possible
but i dont know how consistent
going to have to test
Ooooooooh. Ok makes sense, im going to test that thanks
probably need quite a bit of bleed damage to clear without aggravation tho
i think the break armour for 15% of the phys hit dmg gem would be your best bet with flicker strike and get a high phys staff. You have many hits
is poison good with only 2-3 stacks?
Can be depending on how well you scale it
another possibility is instead of going rainbow, go fire
phys dmg utility feels weird - if you want to break armor for damage then vuln becomes useless
boss with fireblast, clear with living bomb + fireball
Slam melee actually has real aftershock chance now
i'm playing hexblast, the poison nodes are really far on tree so i'd only be taking the duration/+1 poison wheel and maybe the magnitude and recover life on kill one
and slap on a poison +1 stack support
would that be worth it?
massive improvement. it was so confusing that they created this entire slam + aftershock archetype and gave almost no support for it
poison doesnt scale with chaos damage
hexblast is chaos not poison
Unless vulnerability can go negative or further negative than the negative cap from Warbringer but I doubt that
spark lives!
yea but poison is phys/chaos?
Any1 here is playing titan with the Hammer of Gods? Every1 keep saying that titan is weak but it feels so strong, 1shots cruel doryani 1st phase
As a witch, do you generally want to be putting passive skills into Strength? it seems like alot of witch spells require strength
poison is phys/chaos yes. 20% phys 20% chaos, but hexblast is not poison
there's a lot of builds that have that issue
so poison nodes will do nothing for hexblast
um yea but it applies poison?
you know how vaal orbs basically randomize affix values slightly
chaos nodes dont affect poison damage
hexblast does not apply poison
maybe you're making it do so? but it doesn't do it naturally
poison skills... apply poison without poison chance
iirc not all of them
if you want to add poison to hexblast then yeah, people coudl get poison chance
i was wondering if they would increase an affix thats locked to 1% to like 1.15%
roger
the plant burst one doesnt
seems like they dont
i think
or if they can you cant see it on the item
Vine arrow does but you poison it to then spread poison
ok anyway, the poison nodes are really far on tree so i'd only be taking the duration/+1 poison wheel and maybe the magnitude and recover life on kill one
and slap on a poison +1 stack support
would that be worth it?
but theres no chance to poison, its guaranteed
sorting corrupted lifesprigs by leech affix shows nothing
so is lifesprig basically just heal when you cast a spell?
yes
oh god i NEED THAT
ya i was thinking of toxic growth which scales with poison but isnt itself guarenteed to poison i think
But i am demon form bummer
yeah it looks like it would make leveling spellcasters easier
what damage type does toxic growth do it says chaos tag but not damage conversion
I nerver seen that attributes before is it on the unique only ?
probably when Shadow comes out, we'll get poison skills without guaranteed poison, maybe
the leech thing
yeah thats a lifesprig only thing
Sad
whatever damage type your bow does
attacks that dont convert use your weapon damage
thx
there is this which is basically like half of two blood mage nodes
hmmm everthing is good until i see the last attributes haha
but should still be good for demon form
Confirmed Rolling Slam aftershocks still do not deal damage :(
hello i was looking if somebody who could give me a good duo synergy build that could work together well
does Conduction actually do antyhing on Voltaic Mark?
glacial bolt armor explosion is dead
I don't know if it's best lol, but I'm playing the lightnign arrow ranger, and my wife is playing mercenary and doing the rapid fire electric shotgun stuff which is mega proccing my lightning pylons even faster than I can, it's insane
anyone rocking stampede explosions? curiuos if it's still a thing now
Toxic growth does poison which does Chaos damage
what skill cuz i think that just got nerfed im not sure
it didn't
nothing on merc was nerfed
I could just do lightning rod and nothing else and my wife's electric shotgun crap would annihilate everything haha
mostly picking similar damage types is all you need, like vehementi's lightning ranger + lightning merc is very strong
you can also go Chaos damage witch + Poison ranger
Frost is a particularly strong combo for duos as well
i just need something that synergises well together so i can lvl another caracter there just isn't any party or duo builds out
or the ones that are just got nerfed
New Tremors support kinda goes hard i think
Can i use this with crossbow?
i mean mostly anything goes, its not that complicated really
no
No, crossbows are two-handed
Are bows two handed? I was wondering about that
ye that just got nerfed ur teammate can't prock it anymore
yeah
it would be quite hard to use two bows at once
They are changing my game too much
This two handed nodes didn't work back in my days
Does anyone know if 25% of chaos damage with hits will affect my Totems or only me
from poe1
Somehow they made supercharged slam even worse. Despite it being the worst Stun punish for maces already.
Interesting that doubles the nodes I can add to my build
It's kinda good that I'd didn't realise though as I don't think concoctions will scale
if your on pc you can hold alt and hover over stuff
Isn't it shift to see DPS increases?
alt brings up descriptions
patch notes don't mention beam or lightning rod, what are you referring to?
you can also pin menus when you hold alt
so they will stay there even if you move your cursor away
im thinking of trying a new build should i . 1) lightning crit monk 2) lightning arrow deadey 3)stormweaver
For any chaos DOT enjoyers like me who are interested in Essence drain. The buffs were terrible as expected. 33% more on a terrible base damage means lv 20 essence drain went from 239 damage to 289 or so. It is still ridiculously low damage.
However hexblast was silently buffed to 592 base damage
does sunder scale of attack speed or cast speed? Or do both help with the skill animation?
Sunder uses the new "Total Attack Time" system. This essentially forces the skill to be slow no matter what amount of speed you get
so i should respec out of the attack speed nodes in the passive tree?
how do i use those weapon skill point things in the passive tree?
You can speed up everything before the animation. Just not the animation
does Feathered Fletching work? my DPS is not changing when I equip or de-equip the +projcetile speed support gem
Is there any secret tech to making super charged slam not be bad?
#1308715317375270952
There should be a note there
the lightning rod
If you're using a bow, it's possible the node just doesn't get reflected on the DPS chart. But I'm not sure.
What skill isn't going up?
right, how do you figure that got nerfed? patch notes say nothing of the sort. did you happen to observe it in game so you're saying that?
lightning arrow say, or even bow shot
The merc form of lightning rod got buffed
in terms of the 1:2 ratio, that means I should aim for 50% crit rate overall before starting to invest into crit damage correct? since crit damage is 100% to start with
guys can you not refund passive skill tree attribute nodes???
Yes you don't even have to respect them to change them
Just tap them for a new attribute
sorry it was magnetic salvo
you can't refund if its connected to something and would break the tree, but you can respec them. to remove you need to make sure it won't break the tree connections
can u send me ur build ?
who me? basic barely optimized lightning arrow + lightnign rod spam. Idk what my wife is doing but she just uses lightnign shotgun to proc my lightning rods
50% is a lot of crit to aim for without getting crit damage along the way, crit slows down very hard around 30% or so on quarterstaves, and then takes considerable investment to push it harder.
Regardless, in general its a mix of both. and most crit nodes will give crit damage as well.
You want as much crit damage and crit chance as you can get
This with Supercharged Slam (think that's what it's called) could be nutty, though the skill is pretty slow
the nerf to the charge speed leaves me completely confused. it was already so slow you had to charge to 2 for most packs
yeah. in exchange for way more damage scaling
to be fair they probably fixed it's damage issues
but it was really slow already. it had a faster speed for 2nd charge, and a slower speed when going to 3+. and even 2 was kinda barely fast enough
im a bit worried its a stun-only skill now, but it certainly will hit hard at max stacks + tremor
Does projectile damage affect both the initial hit (the projectile) and the gas explosion of gas arrow?
the projectile does no damage and does not hit people, just hits the ground. it likely affects the cloud which pretends to be a hit anyway
Oh I'm seeing that the critical hit chance is a percentage modifier on a base critical chance right, so even if I have a base of 15%, I would need effectively 300+% crit chance to reach "50%", which would skew the math more to critical damage
Is that correct?
i don't know if the math adds up since i haven't done it and don't feel like it. but yeah crit chance is based on your base. but none of what you said indicates skewing in any direction. it is just mathematical fact
just skewing as in which passives to pick that is
That said I think there are effects in the game, whether from gear, gems, or passives, that alter the base crit chance itself
i will say in simple terms.
50% crit chance with 100% critical damage is trash
10% crit chance with 300% crit damage is trash
30% crit chance with 300% crit damage is good
50% crit chance with 300% crit damage is good
both are necessary
that's easier to remember haha
and neither really skews in any direction, more crit damage is always good. crit chance is how you inflict it
I think once you mix in things that proc on crit, things get a bit messier though but the math on that is too much for me anyways
yes, in general you want enough crit for those to trigger often yeah.
it also depends on the attacks per second. people trying to do cast on crit with icy strike will suck pretty much no matter what and will want really high crit to make it feel a bit better.
But with tempest flurry hitting like 6 times in a second, you don't need 100% crit chance to have good damage uptime.
is any warrior in end game using the stampede exploding build? i think mine is having a issue or i did something wrong
armour explosion was bugged and was fixed in this patch. i don't know what it looks like now
no shit, the build got nerfed?
oooooof
not a nerf. a bug fix.
it was exploding on itself. which made sense, since i knew something looked weird with how armour explosion was chaining super far. not even Infernal Blow could do that
I mean, a bug fix can be a nerf too
yes its not chaining like before i can see it
Anybody have any early legendary suggestions for me for a new warrior?
well it still chains but not as far
A bug fix can be a death sentence
they can say whatever they want, it got nerfed 😄
I have a quick clip of my stampede build (~20s) to show it in action against the act 2 cruel boss (if allowed). I think.. it's bugged
Does that mean most of the dmg is fire damage?
If I get increased global physical dmg on a jewel, will it affect my bow base DPS which then converted into fire dmg via the explosion? Or will the phys dmg be wasted
Volcanic fissure seems to loop proc with the jagged ground support
I could have swore I saw something that said along the lines of giving your aftershocks a chance to trigger twice, am I crazy or?
Gas arrow does poison. the explosion is fire
i feel squishy xD
how is the new freeze build up? 2nd freeze onawards completly botched?
Tremors support?
Damm with chaos resistance capped and everything
Poison is... Chaos dmg? Or physical? Unsure what it scales off of
It's chaos damage, but both physical and chaos hits apply to the poison magnitude
they need to increase droprate of waystones
its chaos damage that scales off of 20% Physical damage and 20% Chaos dmage
God I'd like to know for sure too
is there a way to unsocket/replace runes in gear?
no
You recicle the piece and recover one
the problem is I need the piece but I need to change my resists around
This sounds like both physical and chaos dmg% affect poison
folks i want to know what skills is best for fast movement in this game and how to improve them? I am thinking about Shield Charge + Leap Slam...
cast speed of Leap Slam is SO SLOWWW
any ways to improve it? cast speed support gem works only for spells... may be some notable passives? anyone know?
or any other good skill? There is no blink afaik, only Ball lightning + Lightning wrap, but its slower that combo i mentoned....
Leap slam into an animation cancelled roll helps chain them quickly
Elemental DMG too if you wear the right unique
This is from POE1
It's how I get around on warrior
No this is straight from poe2
Ahh. But yes, physical and chaos damage both affect poison magnitude
Huh? Elemental is neither phys or chaos, how can it affect
if you wear the right unique
Gas arrow states that it poisons enemies as if hitting - but does this mean it inherently poisons, or do you still need to give it %poison chance?
It poisons inherently
ok, ty
I'm playing monk rn and I need help getting power charges during a boss since the only thing I'm using is contagion, combat frenzy im not too sure yet but is there any other way, also I lose way too much mana too quickly any way to help that?
Inherent, I believe. Same as things like Incinerate inherently igniting
palm strike generates a power charge but only on kill
ik that but I need some during a solo boss but theres nothing to kill but the boss
But I'm confused on how to best scale the dmg ...
Projectile dmg % affects both the poison and the fire dmg explosion
Fire dmg % only affects the explosion
Physical dmg % affects... Both the poison and the explosion because the explosion is converted from a physical hit?
It won't double dip, but poison magnitude is scaled from the hit that dealt it; it's just that only physical and chaos damage hits can apply poison normally
otherwise you need to scale ailment dmg
for the DoT if that's what was being talked about
You either go for the explosion or for the poison
And if you are exploding therefore destroying the poison
I am exploding everything so yes the explosion is most of the dmg, but I imagine the poison dot contributes 10-30% or so
In single target at least
can't say that tremor support is any good on a sunder if the main purpose is to use it when you got endurance charge + armor break. It does more dmg but over a longer period of time
Cause the poison is maintained on the target while it's being constantly exploded
So we are investing in 10% of our DMG ? I feel there are some utility poison nodes
I'm just trying to understand the mechanic and value phys % vs fire % vs projectile % or attack % dmg for stay weights like on jewels
ty, any buffs or skills for movement skills exists? like warcrys or auras?
Using a weapon with more physical damage will increase the base physical that's converted. But conversion happens before %increased damage from the tree, so getting %increased physical damage won't help with the explosion damage
What if your fire DMG scales the poison? Have you consider that from before?
Anyone know of a way to prevent my skills from igniting? I know of Elemental Focus (& there's another that lets the skill consume ignites), but I'd rather find a unique or something rather than a support gem slot?
ok, it's not quite as ludicrous but armor explosion is absolutely fine
still great at clearing.
Thank you that's what I was curious about, so a node that says % increased dmg for attacks does not effect the explosion dmg?
I think Martial Tempo makes it faster
Sorry meant to reply to you
And of course passive nodes that help attack/skill speed c:
Does anyone here have poisonous concoction and can confirm whether a bow in your left hand with +projectile skills still works with it?
%increased attack damage will apply because it's damage type agnostic
Ah right it affects explosion after
But global physical dmg % on my jewel won't help
Except the poison a little
Correct
sigh, my ice monk certainly feels a lot less exciting to play after nerfs :/ it's not bad tho
Is the Iron Ring base with 1-4 added phys really worth later on?
Thank you!
"Increased physical damage" on a weapon (ie, a local modifier) will help, though
Yeah, that should work as well
I find this counterintuitive x.x like shouldn't skill gems apply before passives
Idk find it weird
I guess the ring dmg adds phys to the explosion after, not my base weapon hit?
Sounds like for conversion, you want physical on wep and then passives on elemental
any poison pathfinders maining pcoc?
do you just not wear any weapon with this?
is it even feasible to use this as bread and butter?
how much resist do you guys take for the endgame
Yee ok good I almost bought a jewel with phys dmg haha thank you
Local mods affect the weapon, they're not global passive bonuses. So an "increased physical damage" mod on your weapon is affecting the base physical damage
it seems there is a - on resist and idk how much i should be getting
my chaos is 75% but i need more everywhere else
But the added physical dmg to attacks on a ring is after conversion and doesn't affect base weapon dmg yeah
So it's scaled a bit less than added phys dmg on your weapon
No yea but like all the +% phys attack nodes I have would only apply post conversion it seems
you get -10 resist every act up to like -60%, you still want to ideally reach capped resistances
I believe it should be before conversion
I think previously there were additionally -10 at T6 and T11 maps but that got scrapped just now
need some help, my lighting resistance is negativa oO why?
Did you get to a further act?
.
i went to cruel. thtas why?
lol thank u sir
What skill are you using? I was tempted to see if I could make a bow/crossbow work with armour explosions but I'm not sure if it's worth it now - probably better to go melee
The fact you've gotten to cruel without resistance is wild lol nice job
does molten blast count as an attack or a spell?
It's an attack
it is an attack that shoots projectile
check the tags on skill gems, it explain everything
I guess this perk is pretty good with molten blast?
i was actually contemplating this a ton. you would go Warbringer for global armourbreak and High velocity rounds to consume armor.
The problem i had with this was Crossbow has only 3 physical skills, 1 is rapid fire with no damage but good armor break, 1 is high velocity rounds which consumes armor break to hit like 900% damage scaling. real good but no way of multiplying damage due to needing to consume armor (No value in 2 shots)
and 3rd is Fragmentation, which doesn't have phys tag, but when it hits an ice wall it does 900% phys damage
It's nuts with a shield yea. My giants blood build is moving into that. That node also affects damage (globally) so doesn't even care about if it's an attack or spell
it has nothing to do with that
I want to play it with gemling so Its quite easy to pick up
for bow they have almost zero physical skills, the most being Rain of arrows (trash damage and trash arrow speed), Snipe (basically high velocity rounds with no armor consumption) and Spiral volley, which is very strong but desparately wants frenzy charges
... what do you mean? I wanted to run it with shield
basically if you wanna do armor break bow/crossbow. your options are limited, and im worried it won't do good damage @soft lake but there are a few skill options
i think best option is phys bow + spiral salvo and tornado shot
poison is physical afaik
mixed with... chaos?
poison isn't physical, it scales on physical bow damage.
There is some physical components like Plague burst support gem and the occasional skill with a phys explosion like Plague bearer. it does not really get much value from armour
yea it's pretty op node with shield
also poison does good but not spectacular damage. honestly it doesn't survive being run on a non-pathfinder
Also I think links are allowed here. Anyone tried this before? Volcanic fissure + stampede (20s video)
this may not be intended.
losing vine arrow hit the damage even harder to be honest
I want a clone of myself to level up my molten blast strengthling
Is there any way to make the arrows from rain of arrow fall faster?
theres projectile speed nodes
Does anyone know why Comet shows 1s cast time here but in skill bar it shows 1.41s?
When I've taken a lot faster cast faster cast nodes?
ah then I have no clue
projectile speed affects the speed of the arrow in all instances
goddamn i need lightning resistance
Maybe Fast Forward support? Makes skills 30% shorter
also you can test this with a gem. projectile speed will make it shoot faster
its not that much faster though to be honest. i would give rain of arrows more quality
the more arrows makes it fire faster too
oh, that really blows
How do we know the initial cast time?
Can anyonr ecommen da build where I can see wtf is happening on my screen. as little visual clutter as possible.
I wanted to go bloodmage but infernalist is way more OP and better for minions and everyone saying bloodmage is trash, will they ever add minion buffs/options for bloodmage or is everyone forced to only choose one choice?
so Im kinda bad at math, I decided to ask Chat GPT for help because the Stormweaver ascendancy that says that the storms have 150% Cooldown Recovery but chat GPT said this, any math person around to fix it? 😅
but if it's +1 to total it might also not be reduced yeah
it's not getting reduced
aye
i'm messing aroundwith voltaic grenade now and trying to find a nice skill that i can press while voltaic is on cooldown, any ideas?
was thinking of gas for corrosion but idk if armorbreak works for elemental damage
nerfed for trigger too rip
the peopel saying Bloodmage is trash are wrong as usual, but you need to know what you're doing of course.
There is no ascendancy that specifically boosts minions, its just taking advantage of ascendancies that CAN boost them.
Infernalist is good for a lot of reasons. Blood mage doesn't really offer anything for minions
You said it's 1.41s for your cast. If it's 1s base +1s due to the skill it should normally be 2s per cast
So your spell speed is affecting the modifiable value but not the other I guess
maps are the only endgame content right?
they invested in cast speed, which reduced the 1.00 base but not the +1 added
yeah
Yea true
is it unplayable though? or just not broken? they dont want fast clears like that build was doing although people keep finding ways to break it again
Same with Rolling Slam for example. Always adds +1.5s to use time
the fast clear was using cast on freeze trigger
Comet works fine yeah
but Weow is playing self cast
sure but as self cast is it really bad? or just average?
basically everyone and their mothers is only using the skill with cast on freeze
Which has been gutted from my understanding
The self stun is just unreal
basically unplayable in any kind of swarm scenario
for a trigger
it depends. if you're looking to use comet as a singular spell. thats not how PoE 2 is designed. skills like Comet and Hammer of the Gods and etc are designed to be untenable as main skills. They're basically your ultimates
There are ways to increase energy gain right
which is why cast on freeze comet was unacceptable
so its not a numbers issue its a mechanic issue, that I see as problematic yes
at that point you ought to play like what hourglass comet
if you want to treat it like a hammer of the gods
big damage on a cd
its already a hammer of the gods so no reason to play hourglass
Hammer of the gods is so nasty with seismic cry
chrono hammer of the gods is a build trying to push it as a one-button build. it doesn't work though. not a great build
not a great build 66% of the time, those 33% where it procs its funny
true
I'm sticking with ignite hammer of the gods to try and get the most out of its cooldown
honestly i want to do a legit Boneshatter main build
i've seen Bleed and Ignite hammer of the gods go crazy
Oh shit I actually wanted to know about that build. How are you igniting reliably?
If we have the freedom to play a skill without cd (because some skills definitely have them)
Might as well make it spamable if right conditions are met
im choosing to wait for duelist before doing bleed. they gave almost zero bleed support on tree, so its likely all inside the ascendancy
Infernalist bringer of flame haha
And are you going for the Lucky Hit passive
all damage ignites as long as I manage my heat level
Ohhh okay interesting
I'm not super far in yet, only just finished campaign
but act 6 one drop was doing like ~2/3 boss hp except for the tankier ones
and my weapon is still only so-so
don't have the searing ignite support on it yet either
but then its a skill gem issue, they need to add a CD and make it stronger, or make it spammable without impeding movement much
What ascendacy could be good for poison Spark? Pathfinder or gemling
which one is that?
yeh just kind of venting with how limited comet design is right now, because the skill looks so gorgeous
I just see the one on tree for damage against low life enemies but that's too far for me to reach
and I do want to drop the hammer right from the get go
not for me as I dont like ice but I understand your pain, I keep trying to make a Arc build work but I keep getting slapped on the face with how much better Spark is
Shit, I don't remember the name of the notable but it's south/south-east on the tree
yeah I think that's the one against low life enemies
It makes every hit "Lucky", rerolling each hit's proc chance twice and taking the favourable one
I mean Comet is 50% worse with faster cast rate than any other spell and has some of the slowest cast time to beghin with also
well there's one for lucky hits against low life enemies and one for lucky hits against heavy stunned enemies
Ah true okay. In your case it sounds like ignite is guaranteed though which is crazy
yeah and I don't need to worry about a damage conversion to get it
it'll just take the full thing
you should see slams my friend
Unlike me with perfect strike ;c
its even worse
people were able to garantue ignite on monk with uniques, its kinda nutz
but at least it has 100% efficiency with it's "faster" stat
Total Attack Time is GGG's kryptonite to ASPD. they've managed to guarantee skills be permanently slow
Does anyone know what the combination of gems is with electric waves being released when using tempest flurry?
Also have you guys tried Lightning Warp (Execute Teleport) with Unleash Support? If available enemies are close it chains making you teleport 3 times, so fun
i dunno what you mean here but a ton of slams have guaranteed total attack time
That's insane. Feel like I haven't seen one good melee unique other than the tower shield that heals 4% max life per block
i will say that i wish i had given Boneshatter its own full build. its actually kind of incredible. and before tremor, i'd arguably say it was way better than slams on titan. with how little Aftershock they put in the game
Most uniques until the pinnacle bosses were all centered on levelling. the strong ones are coming out now, and there is a very nifty 1h mace right now. and an amazing monk staff
but the uniques he's talking about is likely not "melee unique" specifically
just realized I haven't even been checking stats on uniques anymore cause I got used to feeling like most magics are better
Damn I need to look into some of them. Only level 58 atm
lol there are so many absolutely bonkers monk build that melt anything they touch
both extremely good
you're not even remotely close to any time you should consider a unique weapon. they're for unique builds people reroll for in PoE 2 so far, not just a generic improvement to a build like before
theyre for selling to the vendor
i like that they've made rares very good now
Okay ty that takes out a lot of stress for now
+7 levels to types of spell gems is incredible
to add more confusion.. what is the tooltip dps value for gas arrow counting? is it averaging poison dot + explosion damage per second or something?
i have 988.55 explosion dps, 1043.4 poison dps, and 759 arrow dps
i guess its a seperate initial arrow hit that counts, doesnt make sense otherwise
and my total dps is the sum of all 3 values on a single target boss (not counting the additional arrow overlapping explosions ig)
so my total dps is arrow dps + poison dps + (# of arrows * explosion dps) i guess?
Sorry for a slightly slow reply! Well Warbringer lets any damage type break armour, so elemental works, too. Although obviously you don't benefit from the extra phys damage you'd get against enemies with broken armour, but it still lets you use Armour Explosion to significantly boost clear. But yeah, single-target could be an issue if you're not using a phys skill
There's also Flash Grenade, which could maybe actually be good for clearing if you can find a way around its cooldown(?).
Does Fragmentation hitting ice crystals not deal cold damage rather than phys?
yeah elemental does it but it doesn't really matter. because elemental doesn't get any damage boost. Picking warbringer was specifically because it lets you use any skill to break armor, but the point that matters will be what actually takes advantage of it unfortunately
Fragmentation specifically does Phys damage when hitting ice crystals, and quality gives 20% more phys damage
its kind of weird
they forgot the phys tag, but its definitely phys. else it has a useless quality bonus
or it does the element of your weapon. but that will basically be phys
It'll be this
But the in-game tooltip seems to think the ice crystals will explode for cold damage:
Which is what I would expect, also
thats an ice crystal, not your shot
other skills create ice crystals and explain their damage when exploding
alright i hate playing bonestorm, it's time to reroll my blood mage, what should i do?
Armour explosion doesn't really have that much clear as you'd think
the older explosions were bugged and armour explosion is a pure 100% conversion of your phys damage, which is waaay lower than the warriors with 600 PDPS weapons
and still doesn't solve the problem of, why lower armor if your skill gets no damage from it. Personally i think a ranged armorbreaker with warbringer is going to be a Bow user due to bow's actually good phys skills
Armour break with these nodes is good for any damage type though. I haven't seen any node cluster that rewards armour break as much as this one
thats just a grand total of 100% increased damage unfortunately
Without hulking form, +100%. With, +120%
which is good but not good enough to plan a whole build around
Ah, okay
it really depends if someone can scale High-velocity rounds to an intense amount of damage, or take advantage of Fragmentation shot not consuming armor. and warbringer packing negative armour
i think armour explosion doesn't consume armour, so you do get some clear naturally as well
New player. What's the best T4 spirit gem for ranger? Im between Herald of thunder or Plague bearer.
Yeah, you're probably right about this
Actually speaking of this, that support gem that consumes fully broken armour to deal +50% damage gets bonuses from the above nodes I'd assume?
there is no best gem for anything, it depends on your build. if you're poison, every poison build should have plague bearer. if you're not then you can pick many things that are nice. Herald of thunder is only damage on kill, Gale force is more evasion and makes yo utake hits less option
Depends on if you're doing lightning or poison stuff
Thx guys
This gem is good but takes up a slot and can't be used on skills that consume armour unfortunately. Even on my warrior i struggled to make space for this support gem without a 4-5 socket gem
but you would definitely take advantage of it, if you plan to consume armour
I'm finding the same issue! You often want to keep armour break up so it feels clunky
yeah. with warrior i couldn't justify using it when Sunder is so much better at consuming armor too
i think on a warbringer doing an armour break build, i'd rather take my 12-24 second duration negative armour and just go ham with phys
Yea makes more sense to me
Probably good for a Hammer Of The Gods-esque skill though, right?
yeah i used it on that and alternated sometimes
Yea but I find the supports that are good with hotg hit multiple times so the extra hits won't get the added damage to broken armour: Ingenuity (2 casts), Seismic Cry (aftershock won't deal as much as first), etc. idk what's best tbh
i honestly wanna try armourbreaker warbringer.
Like negative armour break is by far going to be GIGA strong when we actually get the rest of melee.
But for now im very interested in seeing it work with crossbow. at first i thought it was worthless but finding out Fragmentation does humongous phys damage changed everything
the problem is fragmentation is not a map clear skill, so you still need to know what to use that clears maps
this is fine, since it still hits very hard and you can't justify using most of the More Physical damage gems on Hammer of the Gods.
Consume broken armour gives you a huge dmage buff that normally won't be on your main skill
I wonder if there's some potential for weapon swapping here
It'd depend on the passive tree, to some degree
Anyone know if Armor Explosion damage scales with '#% Increased Damage with <Weapon Type>', assuming the skill I'm using uses that weapon type?
It should do, yeah
Is this a place where I can ask questions about how stats work?
Yeah I guess the first strong hit that consumes armour would also then empower the next hits so it's still real strong
Is it just me or fireball now feels trash?
Yes exile sibling
definitely with bows or spells and stuff
or something, i dunno
Anyone rocking a Flicker Strike build? Is Monk the best class for that?
i dunno about clearing the map with a swap
Obviously the skeleton of the passive tree would need to be the same because you don't get that many weapon swap points. But there's potential, I think
1): What is the difference between regenerate #% life per second & +#% increased life regeneration rate?
2): How do they interact with each other?
The latter is a multiplier on all forms of life regeneration
Isn't it just the speed/rate
wait
Wait if im reading the patch notes right, no builds where nuked this time, just tuned? GGG actually making mindful tweaks instead of just a blanket nerf?
Whereas the first is regenning a percentage of max health? O.o
Isnt the first based on your max hp, and the latter increased % based on regeneration rate ?
regenerate % life per sec will add to your base life regen, and like loobkoob said the latter will boost it
but you can get life regen from other sources like gear, and the latter will boost that too
If you have 1000 life, and then 2% regen per second on the tree, you will regenerate 20 life per second. If you then have 15 flat life regen on your gear, that will be 35 regen per second. %increased life regeneration rate will act as a multiplier for both, so 10% increased life regeneration rate would take your 35 per second to 38.5 per second in my example
I seeee ty for the concise breakdown
You might also come across "recovery rate" which is an even stronger multiplier because it also applies to recoup and leech
how to deal with mana cost with deadeye gas arrow
the mana cost is so high on higher lv
is there a way i can be culling enemies with ice strike on monk?
Thank you for the explanation 🙏
Trying to learn how all the stats work. The wiki is a lil inconsistent with explaining things
Ice Monk dead or still good?
No problem! POE has a lot of different stats and moving parts so learning how it all interacts with each other is half the challenge
Yeah. I really enjoy the depth of it but it's quite hard to find explanations that are barebones
why would it be deaf
Another question: does weapon elemental damage (like primal armament) apply itself to skills like HotG when using avatar of flame?
Bec of freeze nerf
It does indeed!
You have a few options
-
Invoker Monk with Crit + Lightning shock .
This is the strongest and tankiest natural flicker but charge generation is a bit hard due to having to profane ritual for charges or Siphoning strike to get charges. -
Invoker Monk with Call of the Brotherhood + Storm wave for freeze + Combat Frenzy + Resonator Keystone.
This build requires at least money for Call of the brotherhood. It has really poor power charge generation BUT its effortless. It used to be 1 charge per 6 seconds, it is now 1 charge per 3-2 seconds. It's far stronger than it's Deadeye counterpart. but less charge gen.
This is Part-time flicker due to no guaranteed max charges. -
Much better uptime of charges, but less damage. This is honestly not a flicker striker and more of a Storm Wave build with the occasional flicker. The part-time Flickerstriker```
- Voll's protector FlickerStriker.
This is the only flicker-striker capable of 100% uptime of charges. you flicker, then you use any fast attacking critting skill and you're basically full again, and you flicker again.
This build can be done in a multitude of ways. WitchHunter for aggressive DPS and clear, effectively a mapblaster (but no defenses), Gemling + Pillar of the Caged God for serious str-stacking + damage. and possibly Chayula monk.
This build hasn't been done much, the defenses are hard to fill due to Voll's taking up your chest slot and monk having no armour nodes nearby.
- Finally, Pillar of the Caged God, Str + Dex + int HOWA Gemling stacker. Likely the strongest flicker (strongest monk anything really). Omega oppressively expensive. Can easily use Voll's due to insane amounts of life making up for chest slot. Very tight on points and levels and ascendancy.
Hope this helps
I'm playing cold sorc and things seem to be freezing just fine. Not sure how big the nerf was but doesn't feel like it killed anything
Nice
Bosses too?
The nerf is mostly just so there's an effective cooldown when a monster unfreezes before they can be frozen again, right? So you can't perma-freeze any more
!? Even if my weapon is phys only? Is that a unique aspect of Avatar of Flame or is weapon elemental damage just ele damage from a weapon skill?
Bruh ama need a new build for merc after patched
I think I see why Avatar of Flame is so talked about end game. It's like it consolidates warrior's damage into one "buffable" value
I think it might be that each time you freeze them it takes more to freeze them again. But yeah, mostly just harder to permafreeze bosses
Is there a way to make up for the remaining 25% damage that needs to be converted, or do you just have to deal with it?
Trials are crazy fam I went to the final boss with the huge volcano freak with long ass health like what am I even supposed to do bruv
@rocky pilot The Gemling Merc flicker sounds cool. Maybe ill level a grenade merc and later plan to switch to it when i can afford haha
All sources of conversion happen before increases/more multipliers take effect. So your skill might have some built-in conversion on the gem, and Avatar Of Fire converts 75% of everything to fire. So yeah, anything that increases your fire damage (or damage for attacks, or for your weapon type, etc) will then take effect after the conversion (and therefore apply to all your damage, like you said)
Will there be an app where we can check our character and équipements like warframe
it is an extremely expensive build if you don't farm it yourself unfortunately
But yeah gemling can do it. most people would say you may as well just use a different skill and be stronger to be honest. but flicker is hopes and dreams
You just have to deal with it. There are some skills with built-in phys-to-something conversion, so it's possible to convert all of your phys if you use one of those skills. But you will always lose the 25% of your cold, lightning and chaos damage (unless some unique item can convert those)
Which class has more base movement speed without MS boots? demon form infernalist or ranger with tailwind?
I see
Do we have any defensive skills that either give you bunch of stun resistance or make you immune to damage for at least 1 sec?
Do you guys know if elemental discharge damage gets scaled at all?
there's support gem for stun resistance while casting
go back when you have more damage, and from now on know that sanctum is trash. every monster will be designed to do some wacky cheese skill that ruins your run with no input. the fire guy is your first taste where he will start the fight with a straight up 70% honour ripping attack for anyone who doesn't know its coming.
basically never get close until you've confirmed they're not sneak-attacking. and get enough damage to kill them fast
don't think we have dmg immunity in the style of poe1 immortal call
Wait guys does lvl of the item matter more than stats or they match each other?
why does this support affect my poison dps on gas arrow when poison is physical/chaos
gem says it scales on your intelligence
Level of the item only affects what mods can roll. Doesn't give any actual Power by itself, just means more potential
if you mean whether supports can increase it. highly likely yes, any support gems in the same link will likely boost it
Bro am a merc player who rolls a lot .I just have bad build ,I’ll try to lvl up more and get a better one.
Yea but it also says as x element damage depending on the ailment removed, so if ele discharge deals 100 fire damage, does that fire damage scale with increased fire damage and etc from gear and the tree?
Does your weapon have elemental damage maybe
To expand on this, @spiral hornet, you can view how item level (ilvl) affects mod rolls here: https://poe2db.tw/us/Modifiers
PoEDB provides things come out each league, as well as items, uniques, skills and passives. Path of Exile Wiki editing functions.
I see I got some items with crazy stats and wondered if it truly matters.Havnt gotten a unite crossbody yet but soon
Uniques aren't always better. Often they're more situational but rares are better if you're not building around them.
If it does that seems kind of strong cause ele storm can just proc it constantly if you set up a solar orb or flame wall
Ele discharge has a 1 sec cooldown
Was disappointed when I found that out, had the same idea
Anyone got a good Blood Witch build? (No minions) The Frost Wall got a Huge nerf and is now unplayable
Yes I'm wondering if that 1 sec cd is offsetting the damage tick potential of discharge
does event horizon kill you if you have ci?
Still got to find a good crossbow in act 2 that is better than what I got and I don’t want to waste tools
I probably need to do some testing
What's wrong with frost wall? I've done a couple maps so far but still freezing everything just fine
yeah it does
i guess that all counts as a hit that is converted into poison
however poison tooltip says only physical and chaos dmg portion of hits is converted
That is damn nice
Is there anyway to force lowlife in this game?
no that would make you always full life
you'd always be 1/1 or dead
^
Infernalist can do it with the life reservation ascendancy notables
I'm not sure about other options - there may be uniques that enable it but I've not looked at most of them yet
not quite forcing but there's a unique that makes you count as low life while on low mana
though there's no more mana reservation ofc
Oh, the focus, yeah
Unfortunately woudn't work for me either, I'm using a staff
currently running a chaos witch does chaos dmg% deal more DOT?
Is there a point on running exposure if I have
And a lot of crit
In other words, does exposure reduce an enemy below 0 resist?
why doesn't fast forward work with snipe? it's the exact kind of skill it's made for?
has anyone tested this ? How do you mitigate the Ignite on you ? I just got my 3rd ascendancy for Infernalist and no idea what to do. Beidat's will doesn't work for CI anyway, and the rest is just small notables that work. I am playing DD with Brutes
If im going ice shot/freezing salvo / rain of arrows. Would point blank be the correct path or far shot as a deadeye?
does anyone have enemy resistance information? like do bosses still have 40% resistance like in poe 1
i heard resistance penetration doesnt work below 0% like it did in poe 1
so im level 35 in act3, really struggling with ED/contagion/despair witch build. have as many chaos nodes selected as possible. just feeling lackluster damage, dying a lot, even with dodgin fairly well. just cant outrun mob before they goon me, and DOT not killing fast enough - any ideas?
I guess I am good
so that means resistance pen is basically USELESS unless enemies have a lot more resistances now than in poe 1 and you arent using curses like flammability
What build to use on sorc for leveling? feel pretty weak w arc and spark
pen isn't that big if you can use things like curses
though curses are mana heavy in poe2
I guess i am good...the wasted ex thanks ggg :
Tremors cracked wtf
monks doing ok end game?
Is there a talent node that converts life to energy shield? Or is that an item? I see guys with 1 life and huge energy shield
the one life thing is chaos innoculation
1 life is CI
i really don't know what support gems to put into contagion and withering presence now, level 39 - 7str/51dex/107int
your max life is 1 but you are immune to chaos damage
but there are super good items too
this could lessen the ignite as well I think, maybe annoint it
Doesnt convert, just removes life
But could be a waste of an anoint for that
Is that an item that does that? Or a talent?
Can anyone tell me where to find Sorcery Ward? I can’t find it in my skill gem’s
Chaos inoculation
how do you deal with the bypassing damage? 🤔
well the helm would be nice for a lifestacker thats is near the witch tree
to boost your ehp and use grim feast
I see
And for Ghostwrithe with poisen & chaos i just run chaos res and run MoM
600hp and 1400mana is enough of a buffer
ty
and since the helm dos not cost your life it can be kinda insane
anyone know if the Chaos damage like +19% chaos dmg also applies to DOT?
won't apply to poison but maybe chaos DoT?
i was more thinking the CHAOS DOT
I think i remember poe1 having DoT specific nodes but idk if we do here
sorry idk why i said poison twice
I meant chaos, brain fart
Wait I have max fire res and overcapped, I just testedd it, got the debuf and it wasn't leeching off of me ... maybe bugged ?
how does "chance" affect freeze? I thought freeze only happens thru freeze build up, not by chance
Can anyone tell me where to find Sorcery Ward? I can’t tell if it’s a skill, passive etc
kek i took off my focus that gives me 35% chaos dmg and it did not affect the DoT for some reason
sorcery ward is a thing for one of the mercenary ascendencies
iirc
ascendency passive
witchhunter i believe
Any sorcs got a leveling build? feels super weak, i know im doin something wrong cause my other chars went way easier then this lol
is reduced attribute cost local or global?
so cold sorc wasn't even particularly strong, yet they just universally nerfed freezes without giving this build any kind of compensation when it already doesen't keep up with other sorc builds
spark + flame wall is good early on
idk what people like to do going mid to end game tho
That must be bugged right like why wouldn't that work
There's chaos innoculation, but it doesn't convert your life to the shield. It simply makes your max life 1 and makes you immune to chaos damage. The large shield they make themselves for their own survivability.
Hey, playing bloodmage managed to get my crit hit chance to 80% and crit dmg to 300% which should I be focusing on now?
Which of the two, you mean?
yeh
First of all, do you have 300% crit damage overall or 300% crit damage bonus?
Although I assume it's the former.
313% bonus
Definitely crit hit chance.
However, wait.
Do you have your actual crit hit chance at 80%?
Or is it a crit hit chance increase of 80%?
I mean all my skills show it at 80.25% so I assume so
and just my wand is giving my +98%
what is eternal youth does?
no acrobatics yet but once i get more ES itll be nice combined with ghost dance maybe
Fair then. Go for the crit damage if you can get some bigger numbers there. At your current state 5% extra crit hit chance = 25% crit damage bonus, if you given me your numbers correctly.
Energy shield recharge instead applies to life, but life flask instead applies to energy shield
so you lose normal es recharge but you gain life flask work on es instead?, should i do it with ci?
i believe all resistances will show
isn't acorbatics supposed to allow you to roll through aoes?
correct, the ingame glossary on penetration explains this also
it allows you to apply evasion/evade chance to AoEs
you do not have Iframes, and it has nothing to do with roll
Y'all, my ice shot barrage frenzy stacking chrono is back on the fucking menu. I'm so hyped to get home from this work trip
how does "chance" affect freeze? I thought freeze only happens thru freeze build up, not by chance
so it does not enable my active roll to be able to evade all hits?
correct, freeze is not chance related
(neither is chill)
Chill and freeze are not chance related.
Yes, also the two small ones on the right are.
acro has nothing to do with roll
Hm. What are you trying to achieve with the node though?
24% increased damage against enemies afflicted by elemental ailments is still a good chunk.
ah okay ty.
i thought it was similair to block in how its worded.
active block is like 100% block, but passive block constatnly applies.
i thought evade was smimalir.
If you're dealing cold damage you will be chilling, though, so you will still benefit from the first line
Even if you don't need the chance, the damage alone is worth it to go for.
I'm ice monk, leaning on this
Normally you can only evade (via the evasion stat, not dodge rolling) strikes and projectiles. Acro lets evasion apply to ALL hits at the cost of 70% of your evasion
Is you getting interrupted by projectiles / melee attacks only affected by Stun treshold or is there more to it?
Also how much would you need to not get interrupted by most projectiles/fast attacks?
anyone know if giants blood works with crossbows? or only melee weapons? (dont have my computer on right now so i dont remember the wording of the passive)
i just see it on the modifier for a rare or boss but how much resistance do they actually have
idk how to get a % value from that
the first half of dodge roll makes strike/proj miss you guaranteed. The back half has no "special evade frames".
Evasion in general only applies to strike/proj.
Acro keystone makes it also apply to AoE hits. No interaction with dodge roll.
It's only maces, swords, and axes I think
on a rare it's like +30 or +40 maybe
It specifies those yeah
the silver icon is like 40% resist(?) and gold is maybe 75
okay, thats a bit sad, would have been cool if i could use a crossbow with 1 hand and shield in offhand
I do think mobs have max 75 resist also
fair enough... i'll fish around and see if I can find better for heavy frost
You don't just take this node of 20% freeze builup, you take it for ignoring resistances on frozen enemies.
yeah i deleted that message haha, i was looking at the wrong screenshot XD
What’s looking like the best sanctum build now? Wanna shoot for a no hit.
didn't see the 24%e xtra damage
I can help you out a bit, if you want. I'm running ice sorc so I went through the ice/freeze sections very thoroughly.
Can someone tell me (For Sorc) if +% Energy Shield or +Flat Energy Shield is generally better?
they combine together, you want both
there is no +% energy shield, that's not a mod. Do you mean % incr energy shield?
- flat shield contributes to the base shield amount which then used to calculate extra %shield, right?
ah it's fine, I appreciate it tho. I've been thru ice sorc before cast on freeze was gutted. + I'm not sure how far I can reach into sorc nodes. (also running herald of frost nodes, couldn't fit in screenshot)
yes
Yes, sory
If you have 0/0 Energy Shield, are you low on energy shield?
sorry i'm being pendantic but there are 3 types of mods, +/incr/more and it is important to be clear which we're talking about
So this node works if I have no ES then?
I wish I knew math so I could figure out whether it's better to focus on freeze build up vs cold damage with the heavy frost node (ignores ele resists when froze)
and I wish they could make slow/chill builds a thing, it doesn't make a difference because of how many enemies are hasted or leap. I wanted to make a chronomancer that slowed the whole screen to a crawl
As far as I understand, you are still quite limited in your freezing abilities, especially because after a single freeze the threshold temporarily increases. Damage, as long as you don't overdo it, is generally more reliable imo.
I'm just trying to understand the cheapest, and most obvious path for item upgrades. So I wasn't sure if I should be seeking out Increased Energy Shield (%) or Max Energy Shield
Sounds like a good balance of both though
Erm, maybe... At face value, I'd say yes, but there may be some reason it doesn't work or isn't worth it so it may require testing
Wdym "Make them a thing"? I'm literally making that build, xd.
If you're talking items, you just want to look at the number at the top of the item - the mods are already factored into that
are you actually getting results? lol, maybe I didn't give it enough time
I was still in campaign at the time
I figured with all the chill I had and 20% slow from chronomancer and it still not making a noticable difference that it prob wasn't worthwhile
maybe try throwing temporal chains in there
I had planned to but gave up before then haha, i was pissed about the cast on freeze nerfs XD
Appreciate the help
they haven't been a fan of ice, my frost monk just took a hit with the chain freeze nerf
I was 2 shotting entire screens with ice strike lol
For example, this item. See how the energy shield value at the top is blue? That means it's already been modified by the modifiers that are local to the item (in this case, the +25 to maximum energy shield, so without that mod it would have been a 74 ES item)
Probly your damage wasn't hitting the slow threshold? Really depends whether you had good damage and a nice amount of increased magnitude of chill you inflict. Plus I personally decided to go for the stormweaver with the heavy snows node so that I can slows for up to 70%.
And this item has no energy shield modifiers so the value is shown in white
How can I solve mana issues on monk early? Ice strike deletes my mana pool
Never really considered chronomancer as suitable for my needs.
What's cast on freeze?
does gas grenade on merc scale with weapon damage? if i pick up overwelm will it increase the damage by 40%
I never noticed this. Isn't regular chill a 50% slow? I'd guess you'd get 70% slow playing chronomancer as well right?
I find it hard to play anything that doesn't have chronomancer ascendencies lol. Once you get temporal rift it's stupid fun. there's a lot of skill ceiling for that skill
and the life recoup is insane
There is nothing to scale armor in the tree like there is for evasion and ES?
Slows from the chronomancer build are a separate thing, so you can get over 50%, yes. 50% is the basic limit for chill slow (Unless you run a specific node which I just mentioned).
i feel like chronomancer nodes are better suited for a monk build
cast on freeze is a meta skill where you can slot other skills in it to automatically proc after you've frozen enemies enough times. Previously you could get ice comet for every single freeze
The slow itself has no limit, as far as the tooltip says.
right ok
so as far as slow builds go both ascendencies have the same potential
shame chronomancer doesn't have better nodes outside of temporal rift and recoup
Ah, I see. I must've came in after the nerf so didn't really hear about it.
I took stormweaver for the arcane surge and extra elemental exposure too, not just for slows, because for my build having enough cast speed is crucial. Ice sorc is too slow with her basic cast speeds, which means that I get a lot of value out of % decreasing them.
yeah it had a lot of super fun combo potential. I was slotting contagion and essence drain in cast on freeze for example
Any new mercenary build?
and the chain freeze was a lot better till the last patch, that was fun as well T_T. They keep taking away everything i'm enjoying haha
Well, it is kinda busted ngl.
Or rather, was.
fair enough lol
hmmmm I really do kinda wanna try a chaos monk now
I feel like my next 5 class builds are all gonna be chronomancer lol
is stampede clear bricked? it feels like the armour explosion bug fix did something to my clear speed. or am i just coping
i mean it surely makes it worse
it would be really cool if later on they let you dip 2 nodes out of another ascendency
but "bricked" sounds like an overstatement
like forbidden flesh / forbidden flame from poe1?
it's bricked if i stampede into a group of mobs and dont kill them and then die
I get you, lol. I was planning to starting an ice monk, xd.
i didn't even know that was a thing! I hadn't played poe 1 since 2017 lol
that doesnt sound like the fix affects that
If you block a hit, do you still count as being hit for the purposes for things like gain rage when hit?
Well the armour explosion doesn't chain off itself any more
obviously chrono takes a hit because it doesn't really have anything but utility, but the utility is really interesting. I hadn't experienced anything like this in an arpg
but i wonder if the clear was dramatically better because the armour explosion could cause another armour explosion recursively, at least that's how i interpreted it
just spent 160k gold to brick my build after 2 hrs of theory crafting. T_T
Yes, this is what they bug fixed
yeah ok that's what i thought. so the clear speed definitely did get affected by the bug fix
thanks
I swapped builds because of it. On the bright side now I am playing wacky Resonating shield and boneshatter
Imo as long as the utility allows you to stay alive and you're having fun with it, it's worth it. Even if it's not the for the highest DPS.
It still looks very viable for clearing with from what I've seen, though, Just more reliant on AOE than before
yep
bro
hey, i cant seem to get that to work
Its installed and i see it in my toolbar but ingame it doesnt show anything
control + D on an item does nothing
how should i get spirit as a monk? i need min of 150 for all my spirit gems
Well you get 100 from the campaign, so you need to find 50 on your body armour/amulet
oh cool, where do i get the other 70 from? im at act 2
An act 3 sidequest and then the cruel act 3 version of the same sidequest
what is the sidequest if i may ask? is it late into act 3?
Tribal Vengeance, in a zone called the Azak Bog. Maybe a third of the way into act 3, I think?
Do we know if Frost Comet casting considers you moving or stationary in the "backswing" animation as you descend backwards from the cast?
Bog Lady
what is "maximum physical damage" in regards to spells?
Are there any other sources of converting phys damage to fire?
Damn bro, we watched him line you up
With the destruction of the comet buildand auto cast thing, just how good is a full frost build while leveling and going into end game?
Spells will do x - x damage. So if you have a spell that does 50 - 100 damage, it will pick a number between 50 and 100 each time it hits and that's how much damage the enemy will take. (So to find the average hit, you add the numbers together and divide by 2, so 75 average hit in this example)
What does Elemental Ailment Threshold actually do? Thinking about that reward for the venom quest, that or mana regen.
Underrated comment
when an enemy hits u your ailment threshold is checked against damage dealt
how much% is eva cap?
95%
I think that would be awesome af
ty
i dont understand this 😅
more ailment threshold = they need to deal more damage to inflict the ailment
got it
It's in Poe 1 with forbidden flesh and flame jewels
Oh wow that's so cool. Is that similar to anointing in this game?
They let you pick 1 node but you need the correct jewels for that node
Are there any other sources of converting phys damage to fire?
oh I thought only attacks had that feature
So some nodes are in really high demand while others are not
Than?
so the burden of shadows causes you to spend life instead of mana
so its like blood magic but you still have your mana
avatar of fire i assume
how did "Sunder My Enemies.." actually work?
Avatar of fire.
Need another %25 to get full conversion for hammer of the gods
so could you use mana tempest and then it doesnt increase in cost becuase you arent spending any mana
well thats if it lets you cast mana tempest
i couldnt find any other sources of fire convert
You cannot, I believe
which is unfortunate
apparently it wont let you cast it if you have pyromantic pact as an infernalist
I've been experiementing with ferocity support on warrior in hopes of improving skill speed and making skills hit faster... I've been successful in generating frenzy charges. That said, when ferocity consumes the charge, it seems that any skill (including default mace strike) doesn't go faster. Anyone knows why?
