Tempest Bell says it requires Combo Points to cast. How do I get those? I read the help thing and it said just strike enemies but thats what im doing!

I don't know about the search bar, but there's a sort of neat trick with currency items. If you right click a transmute, it will highlight normal items with no mods. Augment will highlight one-mod magic items. Exalts will highlight rare items with fewer than six mods

One way you can prevent that in future is by first unsocketing the gem you are about to upgrade and only then craft the new gem. This way you will have both the old gem and the new one.
This has the disadvantage that all the extra gem sockets/quality you have crafted to the lower level gem have to be redone for the higher one

Atleast for longshot distance is broken in pob2 Configuration tab. Shock magnitude is completely unimplemented and you can't even emulate it with shock effectiveness because it mysteriously caps at 20%

If you're just adding in a minor spell like those then it won't make much difference anyway. I'd recommend slotting in a cast on shock lightning conduit with that thing that makes it do more damage but can't apply ailments

It's a lightning spell that consumes shock on an enemy to deal lots of extra damage. So you'd lose shock on enemies, but it might do enough to be worth it. Not 100% sure tho.

But without knowing your build I cannot say whether cast on crit or shock would be better for casting, say, spark
