Hello! I just reached maps recently, started putting in passives on the atlas tree.
I have a question about the "Local Knowledge" node.
Is it only a net plus when it comes to income if I just run random biome maps, not only swamp and water(for 40% increased currency)?
I haven't been able to find actual credible information on this; some people said it's not that good because it changes the item drop weighting or something(I don't even know) if you're not running the maps you want, but to me it reads as a pure net positive node regardless

@fleet vessel When i logged out and relogged it showed me my passive tree totally differently. So i guess there must have been some kind of issue when i reskilled. It got updated after a login and i could refund the passives tree once again and pick giants blood and now it works.

So how does one go about getting higher level maps? I cleared a 3 and completed it fully, but no maps dropped. I eventually did a few 2s and got another 3, but then no maps dropped from that 3 either. How do I go about getting higher maps more reliably when I want to clear higher?

1. make sure to craft your maps, ie. trans + aug at a minimum all maps, regal later, alch much later
2. do boss maps with high waystone drop chance waystones (2-300%+) because bosses drop a ton of waystones
3. irradiated tablets in towers are great (don't use ritual ones, they're expensive)
4. atlas nodes that give more waystones/higher tier waystones
5. use doryani, he offers new low tier waystones every time you level and he has an infinite stock of level 1 waystones
6. it's rng, it evens out

if you've had bad rng, I can hook you up with 5-10 waystones

when you try to anoint a corrupted amulet it asks for a "tainted oil" which is an item in PoE 1 that allowed you to anoint corrupted amulets, but that item is not in the game in poe 2

so seems to be a mistake by GGG when porting over the code from poe 1. that's the theory.

Bramble monsters are mostly the ones from Hunting Grounds in act 1, Temporal Chains is a curse that slows everything you do and makes debuffs/buffs on you last longer (you can look at it in the skill gem menu)
