I don't think they are different. What matters is the zone level. Not sure what the minimum zone level is for level 20 gems.

No direct benefit. Guilds get guild hideouts and stashes, but if you're not interested in joining a guild there's no real incentive. It's mostly just for people who like the social/teamwork part of it

I think Time Lost jewels are all from Sekhema. If you mean against the darkness, that specifically only comes from beating the last boss of Sekhema trial using a specific unique relic that makes the boss much harder

temporary fix is to remove affinity in task manager for cpu cores 0 and 1 so that if this happens, your pc can just crash the game and not your entire pc
