@elfin kite also, just in case: it looks like you have even more dps. So if you would have this build pre-patch it would more constant dps then fubgun. But now you just bursting^^. Cast price is defiantly is thing that need to be tried.
Cool thing to do is just ask fubgun straight in chat about post-patch Cast On mana burn, he probably know. :D

I first started on a witch and couldnt get past act2 because of low defences and low damage. Then i made a gemling grenadier and it was good until i started alching maps and got more faster mobs.

The grenades take 2-5 sec to trigger and i get swarmed by monsters. Since i was armor based i could do low tier maps but after reaching yellow maps i can't go on anymore.

Should i try monk? Mathil's build looks fun, but i don't want to get swarmed by mobs in cramping maps again.

it is likely reflected in your damage tooltip, but it is a good stat on most builds as it's basically attack/cast speed, not only is this extra damage for most builds, it also makes things significantly smoother to play

if you have access to it without much opportunity cost, it is likely a no brainer

there are exceptions, such as DoT builds, where it's not really anything beyond feeling smoother, as the skills do not need to be reapplied until the duration is finished usually

the current meta is to have some hybrid spec into energy shield and use grim feast

this is easily done by using an energy shield helmet and taking the passive tree node that convets every 1 es on your helmet into 2 evasion

meaning you give up nothing to gain a large amount of ES

this will give you a much bigger health pool as a buffer

grim feast overcaps ES by double which is extremely strong

likely to be nerfed once they return from break but very good for now even at low investment
