So I use the waypoint to go there, do the trial with my item saying "will allow you to choose your ascendancy class", but then nothing happens and the item becomes grey saying it'll not grant any ascendancy passive

here's the loop: i go back to act 3 cruel (when I tp out I'm in Ziggurat non cruel for wtv reason) and the quest is back telling me to go do the trialmastrer's challenges... even the item changes back to "trial will allow you to choose your ascendancy class"

Use waystones to travel to the nodes on the endgame map. If you complete the node (kill all rares in the instance you open), you can move further on the map but can't return to the completed node. If you fail, you can try again with another waystone but the extra stuff (breach, irradiated, etc) from the node are gone.
After you complete Lost Tower nodes you can slot special tablets in to buff a few nodes around the tower.
Higher tier waystones = higher level enemies and higher level loot

main thing to look out for is on death explosions (if youre melee id recommend dodge rolling away whenever a rare dies to prevent needing to read mods and look for the chaos on death one) and the slowish moving purple balls that explode when you go near them, you can run into range then back out (or straight through them) to proc them but they're the main chaos things from my experience

When an item says (tier #) it just means it wont have any Low rolls the higher the tier the better the roll will be

Every single crafting system I have encountered so far has been diluted and turned into somewhat RNG based. (I haven't done much tbh. I only completed acts and did a few maps, so I have only tried orbs, reforging, essences and expedition). yeah, you will have infinite towers to get , so you dont really progress if you know what i mean. Your duo will open his towers and juice them with you, but after you guys finish the nodes, its gone, so there isnt "progression" other than atlas points, which you guys share the acquisition
