@odd cypress I'm not near the wall, but I'm archer and mainly defense comes from evasion (gona change it later), so death is luck-based.
I seen a cool node for evasion to armour, but not sure if it would work good. But prob if I go flask nodes I will be tanking and restoring life good.

Unequip the skill you want a 4 slot of -> use a low level skill gem and research that same skill -> use a lesser jewel orb -> vaal orb -> 10% or so for it to end up a 4 slot skill gem at a fraction of the cost

however the tradeoff is that once you have enough currency to afford the 5th slot you will have to make a new gem

as once an item is corrupted it is unmodifiable

Lesser jewelers are fairly common drops in mapping apparently, I've done 8 maps and got 2 or 3 already.

Its 2.5:1 an exalt too
And vaals are fairly cheap

So yeah if you need 4 sockets I'd def do it, greaters are silly expensive

Okay, i honest idk, you confusing me as much as possible, especially with screenshot with no such quest.
You can try leave area, wait for 10 minutes and check through the teleportion device with cltr+click on waypoint if the area dissapeared (its like 10 or 15 minutes) and start new instance if you actually have that quest.
Google "How to Reset an Instance in Path of Exile 2 " just in case @cold drift
