Hey guys, got a question about energized crystals for vaal ruins in my campaign run: Do they reset in older areas? Played today and found in two hours nothing.

I was doing a bleed thorns build and the damage was decent with thorns affixes on my gear and some thorns nodes on the tree. I definitely was also using rake with the two supports that add your thorns damage to the attacks.

Took me a while to figure it out but bleed chance with hits on the tree affects thorns. I'm still figuring out how to balance scaling the bleed and thorns hit damage.

i assume the best you can do is getting as much Phys thorns from gear, Inc% thorns on tree. and maybe 1 or 2 bleed nodes from tree if necessary.

And then probably going thorns crit route? since 75%+ thorns crit chance is relatively easily attainable.

Then plus levels into scavenged plating to add more base thorns.

That looks like a super expensive build that you shouldn't even attempt as a new player. The currency required to put that together is high enough that you should have enough currency to respec out of any leveling build you want.

That build doesn't work without the gear. I'd find a totally different leveling build on maxroll or mobalytics that is the same class and start there.

The character itself is called zero to mirror. Mirror is the rarest most expensive item in the game and people play thousands of hours without seeing one.

1k life for viper is my comfort spot in hc, es helps against the physical hits you take but getting poisoned on a half life half es build is usually how you'd die

Convalescence is fine to keep for now but arctic armour and blasphemy + temporal chains are solid to look at, also time of need if you have the strength but it's more niche

Update your life flask so it actually heals you up, with only 700 life you should be able to find a flask pretty close to that amount

"Damage taken from mana before life" can be found in a decent number of spots, grabbing a little of this can leverage your mana as defense especially when mana costs are low it's good

And yeah your tree pathing is rough

Going straight through the es nodes usually isn't done until lategame

Slight tweaks, a lot of these elemental damage wheels are medium value, meaning they are worth grabbing as needed but your gear and jewels will surpass them.

Also, controlled destruction is a great support gem and I'm unsure when you should switch to crit (lvl 58-65 is a good time most likely) but just keep in mind that infernalist has some amazing crit options and many notables on the tree are better for crit than elemental damage

Zenith 2 is an amazing support gem, should probably start using it on multiple skills (spark, orb, and frost bomb can all contribute damage despite the latter two mostly being there for utility)

On frost bomb you should run poten exposure at the very least, then any gems for size/duration/cost

On orb you can keep overabundance, add harmonic remnants for the chance of additional remnants, or just run considered casting + zenith and you'll be surprised the damage it can do

Need elemental weakness with heightened curse

You need to know you're not going to find the EXACT items on the build guide and you're just looking for those stats in general. You also need to know that you need to generally be looking for life and resistances on gear, but the guide might tell you that.

You should be fine going into POE2 then. Just pay more attention to blue items and white bases to craft on, check vendors more than you would in POE1, and don't be afraid to use some of your currency.

If I put Knockback and Blind II on my Wind Dancer (persistent) Skill, and it's activated for my weapon, does the blind and Knockback effect trigger from using my weapon skill (like Lightening Arrow), or Blind and Knockback are only triggered when Wind Dancer releases its own tornado

Well, precision specifies you have increased accuracy while it is on a persistent skill. Blind and knockback are regular supports so they just affect whatever skill to which they are attached. The wind dancer damage just scales off your weapon because its an attack.

Sorry I just noticed where you said character specific. Since your stash is shared across all characters in the same league, there's no way to automate it that I know of, but you could purchase premium tabs which can be customized with colors and labels. You would still have to manually organize stuff into the tabs though

You get 300 points worth of micro transaction currency when you buy the game in early access, so if you haven't spent anything you should still have that

The correct but unhelpful answer: When the expected improvement to the item is worth more then the greater exalt.
In the campaign that is unlikely since you can’t get the higher tier mods yet. In the endgame greater exalts become common enough that you pretty much always use them over regular ones. For now, if you want to craft with it, only use it on an item that is already good and where it can add something that could make it significantly better.

I gotchu. So the two mods that recover but also remove 15% of your old life/mana stat have the highest recovery values and that's why you are always seeing those when you filter by highest values

So what you want to do is create another filter group from the dropdown in the bottom right, using "NOT".

Then add those two mods to the NOT filter list, like I've done at the top.

It's definitely doable with 0 hits taken, even on a fresh character, so yes, to an extent. You can always delay it until later on if you feel that your current damage or survivability isn't sufficient.

Although, rather than skill, I'd say it's mostly just a knowledge issue. If it's the first time you're clearing the Trial of the Sekhemas, you're likely unfamiliar with the enemies and traps, and so will take a lot more hits than needed.

Currency, merchant, and map tabs are the essential ones. Then gems and any of the others if you feel like you need them. But those are way better than just dumping everything into empty tabs all disorganized. And merchant tab lets you trade.

I was going to get (on sale) Currency, merchant, gems, socketables for sure... then had enough left for either maps or this 6 Tab pack... or one Quad tab

I think there is a point to be made about the value (or lack thereof) of having skills locked to a specific weapon type but I don’t think it is particularly bad for any specific build. Here is a comparable example: chaos spell builds really want +level to chaos spells on a siphoning wand. Any other weapon type, axe, sceptre, talisman is useless. Any wand without +levels is not nearly as good as one with +levels.

well yea there is some drops that you can find, but... let me put it like this. its like complaining that theres no food when you go to a party. and they say "what do you mean? we got rice cakes?" while its ture there is theres only enough for one person, sure you can make the arguement there is food. but I would argue its not enough. when you play an ARPG your thinking about your build from all the way back when you first make your character. too then find out in the mid game that your build is very rough to maintain and keep up. well all the passives and skill points you spent feels wasted because you cant really make use of them due to being limited in what items you need to make the build work.

Enfolding Dawn is a cheap unique body armor with no level requirement and 100 spirit. Sceptres are made for minion builds and at normal rarity give 100 spirit. 100 spirit from the campaign. Many minions reserve less spirit as they level or receive quality. Multiple ascendancies give spirit or make skills reserve less. Every build needs gear it needs to find, and has problems to solve. Otherwise there's no point in building it.

200 minimum spirit from the campaign is enough to get a minion build up and running. If you can't, that's a you issue. It isn't some out of reach mystical bit of black magic, and there are minion builds for days on maxroll and mobalytics.

Also, one could argue just as it's possible getting to maps with campaign gear, you can complete ALL content using self-found gear, filling in the gaps with currency exchange for skill gems (buying skill gems on curve is crazy for once you hit lvl 65)

Plants are kinda rough until you get the wildsurge incantation keystone, along with thunderstorm at level 15 so you can run Accelerated Growth

The tldr is you can stack this over 100%, but realistically only after hitting 90% armour (90% should be considered the floor, you want to overcap the shiz out of both armour % AND armour applies to ele)

An elemental hit from arbiter will do fire damage, and get mitigated by your "armour applying to elemental" % the same way it does for physical

Unfortunately this means the bigger the hit, the LESS your armour is helping, hence the need to overcap

Your normal resistances then go into effect, reducing the amount even further

Ideally resistances would apply first since they are not ignored by big hits like armour

I don't know a lot about Pawnyhof but I'm guessing he's somewhere on that spectrum and not at an extreme.

I hear ya, I just think "good creator" needs to be contextualized based on their audience. Popularity is a bad heuristic for quality.

For example, Fubgun is absolutely good at the game, and good at theorycrafting strong builds. But you can make fair critics of his work too -- he prioritizes damage over everything and assumes wild budgets because he knows he'll get them. He's not always a great template for a truly new player. Everyone has their lane of expertise.

question, so my dps is currently absolute shit. I am still in act 2 that makes sense, but it takes so long to kill bosses. I am on huntress, and noticed this class doesn't have a tone of early game dps passives. currently my lightning spear is at 385 dps and I have hearld of thunder as my main source of dps

are you hitting boss with lightning spear alone?

explosive spear should be good for single target

and about the passives there should be a lot, elemental damage with attacks on the main branch, or a few attack damage clusters near the monk area

What do you mean? There should be tons of DPS options. Attack nodes, projectile nodes, etc. But support gems early and the ones you choose also make a huge difference.

I think it more important to just fight a large amount of monsters as fast as possible, so you can find packs and end them quickly, good.

you need to do whichever would give you the amount of points you have now

if you have 4 points, you need to do a 2 floor sekhema or 7 room chaos

The catch is that once you finish the trial but before interacting with the ascendancy altar you need to talk to Balbala/Trialmaster and refund your points.

For Blood Mage you almost certainly will Vitality Siphon as your first ascendency notable

And that helps offset the life cost

Yeah I don't agree with the guide author on this, but you can test it out easily yourself.

You can refund ascendency passive points with the Hooded One anytime, just like regular points

Honestly you might be fine as soon as you have your first ascendency node that gives you spell leech

You may need some %increased leech nodes to have enough, but even that I'm not sure you need

Only reason you need blood magic is to cast spells, only reason you can't cast spells with mana is high gem level OR meta gems (CoC, CoA, spellslinger, invocation)

Imo, only need blood magic at 58 when you can first start using cast on crit

Flasks in campaign + maybe a single mana per kill roll on a piece of gear and you're cruising

Branching Bolts feels amazing but often i dont enjoy spending 8 points to get there. still, look for it on the tree and decide for yourself

i used to be a fork enjoyer

if i want to go faster ill just walk with orb of storms. cast delay is wayyyyy better than spark
