It's more like there may not be much of a point because the new update is coming with a fresh league. If you want practice between now and then, sure. If not, I'd wait.

The way arpgs work is that the majority of players return every few months to a year to experience significant balance changes (making old content fresh) plus a smaller amount of new content.

Some of the new content will be locked to the fresh start league. You'll get to experience the progression without having infinite gear or currency. The economy will be normal instead of bloated by months of items.

For the first time you're playing most content It doesn't matter what league you pick. Feel free to try them out in standard and come back in four months if you didn't find it fresh enough. It'll always be better next time you play.

I think their passive tree is bad, they don't know their way around the passive tree

chaos staff means you need to use chaos spells

arc plus orb of storms is viable, but you can't compare it to essence drain, just play essence drain during the campaign

otherwise try buying wand, focus, amulet with plus to skills and increased damage

or buy this spirit chest and spirit focus, the leveling items

buy skill gems with up to 5 sockets too

a currency tab, a quad or a premium quad tab, a merchant tab and a gem stash tab are a must

after that you could go for a second merchant tab, a second quad tab and some regular stash tabs

you must cast one or two orbs of storms and stand right next to them and right next to the mobs to deal damage

I suspect you simply have too few gem sockets, suboptimal supports and passives, too little plus to skills, cast speed and increased damage on the items

Yes, it is possible to change your ascendancy class. You just need to do another trial - be it Trial of the Sekhemas or Trial of Chaos - that would give as many points as you have, or more, then refund all ascendancy passives at the end and click on the altar to switch ascendancy class.

I enjoy stacking "defences" in campaign especially in HC, but you don't need to. Just get 50-100 life everywhere and you'll have enough to tank ANY HIT, then heal up using instant life flasks

When you hit maps you can replace your life gear with ev/es gear or pure one or the other. Always remember HELMET = PURE ES for subterfuge mask

The rest is more flexible

I'm not sure if it applies to protect me from harm but wind dancer stacks more evasion for you. Ghost Dance is giving you a whopping 35ish energy shield when you get hit.

And if it does stack with protect me from harm that might be a better synergy.

How to do a good build is an incredibly vague question and the answer would be immensely complex. The easiest way to start learning is to look at guides and builds. But not blindly following them, try to understand how they work and what makes them good.

It depends on whether it’s increased or more. The way the math works is that it adds up all sources of flat, multiplies that number by the total of all increased, then multiplies that number by each individual “more” modifier

ehp is a useless metric, forget about it, the main thing that measures your tankiness is life+ES, as a rule of thumb, with 75% resistances and no evasion if you have 10k life+ES and a decent ES recharge you are tanky

if you also have high evasion and deflect 5k life+ES is enough

it depends a lot on how fast you kill things, from how far away, what damage uptime etc.

ehp is missleading because you could achieve a very high ehp by having just lots of evasion, armour and block chance, without deflect and life+ES you are still a glass cannon

Depends on the skills, some are more favouring AoE, others work best under certain conditions. With Ice Strike, though, there shouldn't be any issue in clearing the Manor as long as you're careful.

with what we know so far it makes no sense to build armour on pupose unless you have a very high amount of it and convert it to ele damage reduction, but if you invested the same amount of currency into evasion/ES you would be way tankier anyway

so you just build either just ES or ES plus evasion

Have they done anything helpful to characters that rely on self-sustain over avoiding damage with regards to the ascendancy unlocks? Some of those challenges just ignore all self sustain and tell you don't get hit, mofo and I remember feeling a lil dejected on my melee self healing killing machine haha

If you share your build we could suggest areas to improve, or at least patch up specifically in order to finish your ascendancy trials

if your build cant do one of the ascendancy trials you can just skip it

you can do all your ascensions from one trial

so if you cant do sekhemas you can do all 4 ascensions in the trial of chaos

there still doesnt seem to be trial of ancestors yet

Really depends on what gear your build is using. The guide looks like it's running hybrid armour / ES. Just prioritize Life / ES / Armour and you should be fine. Resistances can be fixed via runes or swapping out jewlery you find.

but ES and evasion can help of course, it's not very important though

I wouldn't ignore armour because that is just straight up damage mitigation. ES is basically treated as life too so that I wouldn't ignore either

Finishing Act 1 takes less than two hours on most builds if you have even a decent comprehension of what you're doing. But for a specific suggestion, I'd say Warrior is often one of the easiest Act 1 runs.

So with the new season around the corner, and last season being my first full run. What does the standard remove only stash tabs in standard league mean. Is there a time limit, can you have more of these stash tab added per league? Are there any odd rules I guess to these tabs other than the clear remove only indicator

The only real rule to them is that once an item is removed (even jsut picked up onto our cursor), it cannot be put back in. Other than that, they have no expiration or anything like that. You just can't put anything in.

So as long as you only take out what you need from them, they're kinda like extra free stash tabs.

Hi I need help. I'm playing on contoller and I'm trying to learn how to swap between passives trees with weapon sets.

It says I have 24 passive points between weapon set 1 and 2 but it won't let me interact with them at all. Any advice would be much appreciated

I forget the keybinds on controller, but it is also possible that you have assigned all passive points regularly, leaving you with no points to spend on the weapon set passives. Make sure that you have at least one spare passive point before trying to allocate it to either set.

I have ten spare passive points. I just don't know how to allocate them to either weapon set. Also I notice that on pad I have to hold down the weapon swap button. Is there a way to switch without holding down the l2 button?

you can bind your skills to specific weapon sets

so for example you can bind your fireball to specifically weapon set 2 with a weapon with fire dmg and your passives with fire dmg

so whenever you press your fireball button you automatically equip your second weapon, no need to press weapon swap manually

If you're holding it down, I don't think that's the weapon swap button, it just swaps to the second bar of skills.

But yes, you can freely allocate the skills to either set, or if they can only be used with one (like if you have a Mace and Crossbow set, and try to use a Crossbow skill) then it will swap automatically without any manual configuration.

With controller, you set which weapon set you want a skill to use via the bind screen. First select the skill you want and open "Skill Options"

Then in skill options, you can select which set you want the skill to use. If you select both sets, it will use whatever the current active weapon is.
