Personally I think loads of ascendancies can do tons of different stuff. The most versatile ones, imo, are chronomancer (sorceress), pathfinder (ranger), titan (warrior), and gemling legionairre (mercenary)

from what i can tell, GGG nerfed some of the auras by forcing you to use them in both slots. A prime example of this is blink, where a lot of people would have only in a weapon swap for the mobility, but then be able to switch back to regular dodge during normal play

Oh I killed them already, just had to completely use a different ability and setup. The issue I was running into is once one of them died the other would spam their link heal to 100% hp. Just chained it, and regardless of how much damage I output it was never enough. Struggled to kill them evenly with minions. When I flipped to elemental damage it only took me two tries. >.>

this is what happened;
during the first week of the league there was a unique plague harvester mob that spawned during a map event in interlude 2
that mob not only had a guaranteed haste aura, which is rare enough, but the aura was also stronger than the normal haste aura
the mob could also spawn with other auras like ele res and shield aura, when normally you can't get double auras
the patch update specifically removed all unique auras from companion skills, so no more guaranteed uber haste aura

mobs should still be able to spawn with the normal haste aura, for reference I have one on a nettle ant

If anyone is struggling for minion build ideas, allow me to say Skeletal Reavers are shredding A4 and Interludes for me

They are melting bosses left and right, Pain Offering is all they really need for support, then just pop their ability and watch life bars vanish

For general clearing Unearth does the job zerging the map in conjunction with the Reavers

Cleans out Abyss very well. Just get +2 minion on helmet and your Scepter (I use Omen, Bone is fine too) and they are godly murder machines

Can anyone explain how swapping works with skills? I've managed to lock the same weapon for both sets and I've set up auras such that Set 1 is for mobbing and 2 for bossing. Yet, on using any other skill (attack skills) I'm automatically swapped back to Set 1, invalidating the whole thing.

Ah I finally got it, its because of the crossbow bolt skill. Irrespective of what I set the bolt loading skill (i.e. galvanic shards, plasma bolt etc) to, if the firing skill is set to Set 1 then it'll swap back. So I have to use two separate firing skills for each xbow.

Hm, so my idea of one set for bossing and one for mobbing is only feasible if I use two different basic bolt skills. At that point, I could just use a bow.

if you only plan to use one crossbow, you can lock it (hover over the I and II above your weapons in the inventory and right click them to lock it to that set)

that way you don't need a second crossbow nor a second basic bolt skill

locking it means you use that single weapon for both weapon sets

I do need to swap the basic attack since that automatically changes the sets which in turn changes the auras (which Ive locked to each set)

And I discovered something interesting. If you're using the same xbow but use both set 1 and 2 bolt attacks, you can effectively double your clip size by emptying both in sequence. Load the same ammo on both sets, and then you can fire one bolt after the other is finished.

Yeah, so you want to re-complete a trial at the same or higher "difficulty" as before. Then at any time before clicking the altar of ascendancy at the end, refund all of your ascendancy points, then you can change ascendancy. The trialmaster and djinn lady will both allow you to respec before the end

Yeah again, I don't think it's a ping or frame issue, I think it's just rendering shaders. When you load into an area for the first time, it has to load in shaders. Some games will do this all at once when you open a game for the first time, it'll take like 15-20 minutes as it renders all the shaders in the game. Poe does it as new shaders come in. If it continues to be an issue when you have already been in an area, try changing renderers

Clearing the cache won't help if the lag occurs while the game is building that cache in the first place, you've just reset the work it's done so it will have to recompile all of that stuff again.

well yeah because you just deleted all of the already loaded shaders haha. I'm not like, a GPU or graphics expert or anything. But think of shaders as like, your computer "remembering" what something is supposed to look like, in a way. You cast a fireball for the first time, and the GPU goes "wait what is that" then it loads the shader, causing a bit of a stutter. The computer goes "alright, that's what the fireball looks like" and it doesn't have to manually load the image of it again, it'll just pull it from the shader cache. Then the game does that with basically every object in the game.

I've leveled 3 chars this league so far. With practice I've felt that act 4 is actually significantly faster than others.

For instance, you can skip kedge bay entirely, as it's just an introduction to delirium, and most of the maps on the islands are super straightforward, so you can rush them fairly quickly if you're not super squishy

Getting mobbed a lot is something that basically all builds have to deal with in the campaign. The tools available are sparse, especially at level 1-10.

Also,all classes can use all skills and gear, so I'm going to assume you're referring to quartstaff skills and spear skills. In that case, I think both are fine for a new player. It really depends on if you want to follow a build guide or not.

Personally I'd recommend going in blind for your first try.

When the third trial is out, the 3rd set of points will be in Act 4, but until then, it's just whenever you get a 3 floor Barya or a 10 room Ultimatum.

If you want to switch to a different ascendancy, you need to run a Trial that would give as many or more points than you have now. Then, when you're at the Altar, you can speak to an NPC (Balbala in Sekhemas, Trialmaster in Chaos) to unspec all the ascendancy passives, and click on the Altar to choose a different ascendancy.
