You can just use them on whatever items you want to have instead your old ones.
Affixes scale with the item level of an item. And the item level is the level of an area where you drop the item.

So you can just pick up items and roll affixes.

Strongboxes spawn randomly, and can be modified with the same currency items as regular equipment. They can be Normal, Magic, Rare or Unique, same as regular items. When interacted with, they will spawn enemies based on their modifiers - usually a few packs at base, though you can get more through affixes on them. Unique Strongboxes can have different behaviours, but generally they are also completed by defeating all enemies they spawn.
On completion, the Strongbox will drop items based on the type and rarity. Regular Strongboxes will just drop random items, but you can find varieties that will drop only weapons or armour, only Currency items, and so on.

It depends on the base type - base types that start dropping at higher levels have higher base Defences - and the affixes you get on the item, as well as which item slot you are asking about. Considering you're in the campaign, you're not going to get the highest possible values, so if you're just looking to get as much ES as possible, simply using the items with the highest values should be enough.
That being said, I don't believe it's generally recommended to be relying on ES until you've gotten enough recovery for it.

That would require a perfect roll of the base, putting quality on it, the item having multiple perfectly rolled tier 1 mods.

As PoE2 currently doesn't have Acts 4-6, it instead has Cruel versions of the first three acts to bring you to the right level for endgame, and to give you the permanent stat bonuses that would otherwise be given in Acts 4-6. Once they add the rest of the acts, Cruel will be gone.

And they are aware that people don't enjoy doing the campaign twice in a row like this, so we might be seeing at least Act 4 (which will mean one less act to repeat in Cruel) as early as 0.3, which will release on August 29th.

Should be fine, Rake and Blood Hunt, as well as Amazon in general, are pretty good. It doesn't appear to require any overly expensive Uniques and covers what to do during levelling, so at least at a glance, I'm not seeing anything bad about it.

Skeletal Sniper is not Skeletal Warrior, it's not granted by your Sceptre, you need to reserve some Spirit in order to summon them. The skill is to use their Command skill, once you have at least one Skeletal Sniper summoned.

No. We dont do item giveaways here. Its against server rules. You should have no trouble against the first boss, the bloated Miller if you paid attention to the tutorial. Ground loot should be fine for pretty much the whole campaign.

No trading or begging for items in the server. If you're struggling with the very first boss, you can't even be given an item, but more importantly, it's likely a matter of you needing to learn to dodge its attacks effectively, not gearing past it.

Super late but if you need regal orbs, exit the ziggurat encampment via the sandswept marsh door, search nearby for the waypoint + campsite that ALWAYS has two rare mobs. Can't respawn at checkpoint but you can return to the ziggurat and reset the zone, walk out again

Also in the area leading up to poison lady, there should be a guaranteed rare chest somewhere. Didn't work the one time I tried it but you should be able to respawn from checkpoints and pick them up multiple times

I'm completely new to this game and looking for a leveling guide with a build that looks fun to me. 🙂 Since the game has so much content and so many options, this is going to be quite a challenging adventure

yeah, some skills need more investment than others and it is near impossible to know if you aren't constantly online researching

you made a solid choice already going with crossbows, they received some buffs going into this season and most skills available are good, i can still give a few broad tips:

1. around level 26 you can start dropping Lesser Jeweller Orbs, these allow you to add more sockets to your skills. keep one on hand but otherwise use them as they come and experiment. going from 2 supports to 3 is amazing on almost any skill.
2. around level 35 you can start dropping tier 2 support gems, this might open up some new combos or just include generic damage increases
3. at all times you will drop extra skill and support gems, you may run out or you may have too many, depending on RNG
4. when you level up, check the vendor in whatever town you're in. some of those crossbows might be super juicy, some might be white items that you can ignore or purchase and "craft (gamble)" on. checking the item level, or the level requirement, is a good way to get a better idea on an items potential

looking at the crossbow skills now, the only "bait" skills id say are high velocity rounds, incendiary shot, ice shards, and probably ripwire ballista (think its solid as utility not your main dmg)

but youve got fragmentation and permafrost to shotgun with, galvanic shards and armour piercing rounds to spray with, explosive + flash + voltaic grenades, and that leaves glacial bolt and explosive shot, both pretty good for shooting your feet and still doing work xd

enjoy poe2, do NOT be afraid to run each boss 10 times, youll see them all in maps eventually 🙂

Okay, so this is what I am playing with:

Its a storm sorc which I have fully specced to ice damage. It worked rather well in and up to Act 3, but now in Act 1 brutal it starts to feel rather difficult (Half way in and things die a lot slower and tend to 1 shot me sometimes).

My current "Game plan" is to use frost nova to freeze crappy mobs and explode them with cold snap.
If they are tougher than usual, I use frost bolt to use nova from a distance while minions distract them and repeat strategy #1. Sometimes utilize frost bomb if necessary.

Against Elites and bosses, I rely on Skellies to distract while I run in circles applying hypothermia and 2 x frost bombs - Rinse repeat
And also while frost bomb detonates I cast meteor.
So rotation is:
Hypo > Frost bomb > Meteor > Frost bomb > Meteor > Hypo

I know its not ideal or min maxed, but given this is my first time playing - This is the best I came up with 😅

I'm unsure why youre using envenom with cold snap. I dont see any way of scaling poison and id bet there are better damage support gems you could be using. Unless you need the spirit for your reservation skills, I'd dump the sceptre and get a focus, which can roll spell damage mods. Contagion on cast on freeze is also an odd choice. And a couple pieces of your gear have added damage to attacks, which doesn't affect your skills but I know you may just be using them because theyre the best that dropped..

More important than any of that, Im seeing very little life and resists on your gear. If your resists really are in the negative, fixing that should be your top priority. Life and resistances are the most important stats on any non-weapon gear.

If youre a caster, you shouldn't need minions to act as meat shield. Thats why life and resistances are so important, for any build. You should be identifying all rare gear pr even some magic and prioritizing life and resists. All other stats are secondary to that. Use runes and artificers orbs to help with resists also. And why are you using contagion at all?

Yes but youre doing nothing to scale it so its just taking up space. Weapon swap isnt necessary at all. And thats what cold penetration and curses are for. No enemies are immune to damage types.

Spell damage and more cold spell levels on your wand, in cruel you'll start getting jewelers orbs to add a third support socket to gems, looking for ways of scaling damage between skills. If youre using frost nova to freeze, look for supports/passives that do more damage against frozen enemies. Etc.

Make sure you've done all the permanent upgrade quests also that give life and resistances.

Your cast on freeze skills can also get a support gem instead of contagion.

You dont need more skills, you need to enhance what you have.

The campaign is balanced around 0% resistances, so as long as you're not in the negative, you're okay. However, aim to reach 75% elemental resistances - Fire, Cold and Lightning - whenever possible, as it still offers a massive reduction in damage taken from those elements.

The difficulty you run them in doesn't matter (and it's Cruel, not Brutal), only the number of floors for the Trial of the Sekhemas, and the number of rooms in Trial of Chaos. You get a set of points for completing each additional floor of the Trial of the Sekhemas (1-4), or each additional set of rooms for Trial of Chaos (4, 7, 10, and then the Trialmaster at the end).
As you reach higher levels, the tokens for these trials will start dropping with that number of floors or rooms, and will state that completing the Trial will grant you points, so just do the next Trial once you get a token like that.

I'll just copy the answers over from the other channel:

1. The Tier on Unidentified items describes the minimum level of affixes that can roll on it when you identify it. The higher the tier (from 2 to 5), the higher the minimum level of affixes, meaning you're more likely to get a good item. It does nothing after you have identified it.
2. The lower the tier, the better the affix is. So, T1 Life would be the highest Life mod you could get on that item.
3. That describes whether the modifier is applied directly to the item, or to the player. A local modifier will affect the base damage of a weapon or the base defences on a piece of armour, a global modifier will affect the player's total stats.

That early on in the game, it is entirely possible to take the boss down with Default Attack and no support gems, it's not really a matter of skills. Anything you have at that point can work.

Barring something like Killing Palm, most are perfectly fine for damaging bosses. It's only the Mud Burrow, it's super early into the game, and even if the skill isn't ideal, Default Attack will do the job.

It is a light filter, but it seems to just never highlight anything that is useful for a sorc. All the armor pieces are always with evasion or armor and all the ones with Energy Shield only are always almost invisible 🤔

Righty, so I am at Act 3 Cruel (Adjusted my build a little bit so it doesn't rely on Frost Nova all that much so less melee) and I think this is a good time to start improving my gear.
I know that my resistences are not up to par yet 🤔 (No idea how I've capped Cold res to be honest just kind of happened 😅 ).
But I am struggling to get new items now. Most of my gear is yellow, and it feels odd to swap it with blue items that only give me resist 😅 especially as I feel that my DPS is not too great yet either.

So how does one go about it? 🤔
I don't have too much currency at the moment as I believe I am just a beginner still. So how should I go about it? I've got these rings and amulet (Which have been just blues that I have exalted a bunch after turning yellow).

And my overall gear is not that important (I don't think) as the only item of note is the gloves that make my build possible

A magic item with two good mods is better than a rare with one, or two at a worse tier, be on the lookout for magic items that roll good mods on the ground and from vendors and then Regal Orb them.
As for Resistances, the campaign is balanced around 0% Resistances, any extra is obviously good but as long as you're not in the negatives, you're okay.

I've tried a few maps, but I feel like my build/stats force me to try and cast from afar and not ever get too close to enemies and it takes me 4-10 seconds to clear a pack which seems WAAAY too slow... It's always a mix of gear + tree + gems. In this game, gear usually dictates most of all

To start endgame as a minion or mage player, you should have at MINIMUM +3 spell levels, +100% damage, and somewhere between 0 and 50% cast speed

This is found on your wand + focus mostly, with cast speed/mana/life being available on rings and amulets

Without sharing your build it's near impossible to help, we don't even know what skills are taking 4-10 seconds

But yeah, if you're new and your gear is a reflection of that, 4-10 seconds is fair. Learn mob types, learn to read modifiers under health bars, learn to use the minimap and avoid getting cornered.

If you can see your XP bar visibly moving with each pack you are doing fine, if anything it shows you don't need to keep pushing, just bring your gear up the current level and keep experimenting

Poe2ninja is the best website flat out. Link your Poe account and you will be able to refresh your character at any time, and the mobile interface isn't crap like Maxroll or pob

prefixes are used for rewards, suffixes are used for danger but more waystone drops

dont need waystone drops at t1, they are cheap

in order to do towers and corrupted nexuses, try to get a waystone with 3 prefixes and 1 suffix. this means it still has 4 mods but most of them are no harm

aight step 1 is remove that unique ring lol. replace with literally any cold or lightning resistance ring

are you actually casting fireball or just cold spells? full cold is probably more streamlined and easier to pull off

youd be able to drop those gloves for something useful

id try cast on freeze cold snap instead comet, but both are fun. cast on freeze cold snap is not ideal for bosses tho, it unfreezes them instantly

generally you want life and resistances, high ES for an intelligence build

some items might be unique and build enabling though

wand and focus need + to skills, cast speed, crit chance, increased damage, gain % of damage as extra damage, focus also needs high ES

amulet can have % increased ES, plus to skills, resistances, life etc.

jewels can have increased max ES, ES recharge rate, faster start of ES, increased damage, crit chance and crit damage

but for example something like stun treshold can be very useful too

find a similar item with life or es on it. like an exact copy almost.

head to the Recombinator once you start doing Expedition in maps.

place both items in and click ONE stat line from each item. all other stat lines would get deleted but you hav a chance of combining the two. this clutched for me a ton this season

You'd need to send a screenshot of what you mean for the passives you're referring to.
As for weapon set passives, those are the number of points that can be spent separately between your first and second weapon set, although you require regular passive points first to allocate them as weapon set passives. They can be spent by holding Shift and pressing either Left or Right click for set 1 or 2, or by pressing on the arrows next to that number to select that set and then allocate points for it specifically.

Different ascendancy options, different starting passives.

The Ranger can be a Deadeye or Pathfinder, the Huntress can be an Amazon or Ritualist. Depending on the build, one could be vastly preferable to the others. The starting passives are comparatively minor, though.

basically amazon gets tons of crit chance with whirling slash builds from the big amounts of accuracy, ranger doesn't, so it probably makes no sense to stack accuracy as ranger. ritualist has over 100% free resistances, so you can freely use the ingenuity belt and items with a lot of ES and little or none at all resistances, it's very convenient. pathfinder can move way faster while using skills, so you can basically run around while channeling incinerate for example. deadeye doubles the benefits of frenzy charges, so you deal tons of damage with skills that rely on frenzy charges, but also you have additional movement speed, evasion, damage reduction and skill speed

hi guys, i just started a sorceress, now at like half of act 3 and i cant find a build that seems fun (spark build is 💤 and the frost bomb + frost wall build is boring too)

Use the official poe2 website for trading. Since you are on Xbox there are no ingame pricecheck tools for you like on PC but after learning on how to use the trade website pricechecking manually becomes relatively easy.

Also be aware of the so called dump tabbing, which essentially means setting one of your premium stashes to lets say 1 ex(so all items put inside are listed for 1 ex on the website) and when an item is valuable you will immediately get tons of offers. If that happens you know you got something valuable and can then proceed with pricechecking the item manually.

MANY league mechanics from POE1 have stayed in the game or have been re-introduced after being reworked or balanced. It is how the game has continued to grow and have a ton of side content. Some have not gone core or have been removed to cut down on bloat. I'd imagine POE2 will be the same but we haven't had a proper league yet.

As for Charms in general, the in game tooltip covers it decently.

In general, the fewer Charges used, and more Charges gained, the more frequently the Charms will be able to activate. Reduced Charges Used will mean that you can get more uses out of the typical maximum number of Charges on the Charm, Increased Charges Gained will mean that they recover more quickly after it is activated.

I wrote somewhere if your charms have only 1 use then you don’t want increased because then you won’t be able to use them at all so with having both reduced is perfect

If you increase Charges used past the maximum on the Charm, then yes, it won't be usable. Ideally, you'd get an Ingenuity that has Increased Charm Charges Gained and Reduced Charm Charges Used, though that isn't typically considered to be the most important set of stats on the belt itself.

As I said, the most important stats from the belt are generally the increased bonuses gained from Rings, so it may be that they've rolled well on those and disregarded the Charm stats.

That being said, perhaps there's some tech relating to Charms I'm unaware of, I'd need to review a specific character to be absolutely certain.

They aren't. There's no reason to use lower tier runes once you meet the level requirements for Greater runes. That's why the stash tab has an upgrade button built into it that lets you do the 3-to-1 upgrade right from the stash.

If you're asking this because you see lesser runes listed for more expensive prices, it's a market inefficiency. Nobody is buying lesser runes 4 months into a league.

Greater Runes are generally quite common, so they don't have too much value, and Lesser Runes stop dropping after you reach regular and then Greater Runes, so in a sense, they are rarer, but in terms of actual use, there's basically no reason to ever use anything but Greater Runes.

There's the Skin Transfer MTX, which consumes an item to apply it to another of the same type. You can then remove it and get the item back, but the Skin Transfer is consumed.

Yeah if you're playing in Standard, be aware when GGG changes items they generally don't remove the "legacy" version of them. So Standard can get some weird stuff. It's normally gear, not skill gems, but same idea.

In POE 1 you can find unique items with different stats based on what league they were generated then sent to Standard.

and you combine it with other groups, in my search you see an and group. but for example you can make a second weighted group with flat damages, assign the value 1 to them, set the minimal sum to 60, now all of the rings in your search have 60 or more flat damage

same way with megalomaniac, set the values to 1, minimal sum to 2 or 3

So I just killed the boss of the first trial attempt. I have a bunch of items I don’t want to get rid of plus the cool items that dropped from the boss. If I use town portal I assume I will lose all?

Basically what I am asking is. Can I keep all the items that I get in the trials or do I have to pick and choose

You can generally get through campaign with a very suboptimal build. In POE, the campaign is really the tutorial and the bulk of your build crafting and honing will come at endgame.

I know that's not a direct answer to your questions but what I'm trying to say really is don't worry too much during campaign. Don't stress whether you're making optimal choices at this point.

Ah, so you're not far off there. Very simply, each affix tier has an item level requirement. So you won't roll a T1 % increase to Chaos damage on any wand at your level. The possible tier rolls will grow as you level.

You may notice some item drops that show a tier on the ground. This is related, but different. A ground item with a tier in the name means the affix rolls will be biased toward higher possible tiers, by capping the lowest possible roll.
