it's drop rate is a lot lower than uncut gem, as far as me experience goes it's like 1/15 - 1/20 in differences
so that's a bit of low RNG chance, keep grinding boss and rare mob
there said to be some bosses have higher drop chance : eg : act3 bog witch

Most build use combat frenzy Spirit + resonance on the passive skill tree. Freezing gives frenzy charges which resonance converts to power charges

That isn't really a thing. It's an ARPG at the end of the day, not an MMO. But if you're trying stack auras and drops, you need magic find on gear and spirit to run more auras.

You've been playing long enough to know things aren't determined by class. Invoker has good access to spirit and you didn't even mention that one. As always, it comes down to how you build it and what avenues you take to make it tanky.

Blood gets Mana to HP, Infern outsources 20% damage to Dog and can stack fire insanely, and Legionaire has massive resist.

Items aren't good for classes, they're good for builds. And that would only really be good for a strength stacker that doesn't use the other two attributes very much and has a method of recovering life besides regen.

So this is part complaint, part "am I missing something". But as a newer player who’s put close to 30 hours into the game, has one character to level 30, the loot economy in this game is starting to really drag down my experience. Because rares are pretty rare, and I get very little orb items that would allow me to try and craft my own gear. Money also isn’t very abundant, so gambling for anything is also not an option for very long until I’m broke. I could use some new gear, but I can’t seem to get anything better than what I have. I even tried looking on the trade site and the options are a bit meh, while also wanting items that are already scarce to begin with. So like am I missing something that could help here or is this just how it is?

well i aint exactly what you call a pro but i have about 250 hours or so and i found it that you gotta make use of blue items its real easy to get a base turn it into a blue and add an affix and see if its good or not

that should be enough for the campaign

and if you dont rely on dmg from ur weapon u could even regal and exalt it like i did with my wand

Don't ignore magic (blue) items, they can carry you. Two good mods is better than 4 bad ones. Check vendors, look for good bases to craft on, salvage and disenchant for crafting currency.

Depends what you're looking for. Life and resists are your priority in the campaign, along with finding better weapons.

Also how is it that as a sorceress I seem to find staffs the least compared to all other weapon types? I get more wands and scepters. Hell I think I find more shields than staffs. I get that all classes can use all gear, but this is obnoxious.

Who says you need to use staffs? Wand and shield/focus is quite viable, even preferred for sorc.

How does that make sense when wands and scepters seem to be more geared toward minions, which is more of the witch class stuff? It’s not like Diablo 4 where it’s simply a difference between damage and attack speed.

1st playthrough is going to be rough. Not really much you can do to mitigate the problem of rng and gear. Putting a second character through campaign will be way easier. If you collect stuff, you'll have higher tier support gems, jewelers for more skill slots, perhaps unique equipment that are really strong for low level campaign stuff.

Sceptres maybe are, wands certainly aren't.

And basically don't spend anything besides transmute and augment orbs to craft an item. Throwing exalts at an item to try and make it better is a waste of currency.

In weighted sum v2 you put in stats you need, and put a cost of like 1 for let's say life, but 3 for critical hit chance because it's the best for your build, it then adds and calculates it when searching

So if an item on the trade site has 45% fire res, it calculates a 45 on the item

After putting in what you need, there's a sum button, and it shows items with the highest sum of the items you need

I've never reran 1st ascend. Perhaps that's just what happens when you reuse the green token. I'm assuming you reused the green token. If you find a token from mobs, you only get 1 try at the trial, no redo. Can exit the trial and re-enter the instance but no redo

I portaled out of the end trial back to the caravan to salvage a few items that had quality and rune slots to reduce my inventory thinking I could get back to the same place and get the chest rewards and altar ascension, but it bugged out on me.

Yep, if you leave the trial, can't open chests anymore, that's normal. Have to open before leaving. If you didn't notice, you can access your chest from that room. Use a dump tab to put stuff into your stash chest, then open rewards

Is there any way to look at the minimap besides the overlay you can toggle? Because some of these areas are pretty big and even the most zoomed out setting isn’t enough for me to see the whole area while I’m exploring. And looking at quests just gives me the other map. I just want an option to bring up the map of the current area I’m in and be able to look around and zoom like a normal map in any other game.

The build relies on 2 items (a pillar of the caged god staff and HOWA gloves). Basically the staff gives you 2% stack speed per 5 Dex, 10% damage for 5 strength and the gloves then add 10 damage lightning for each 10 intelligence and 4% attack speed for 25 dex

You also get ascendant skill that gives you double attributes. So my character right now has 600 dex, 400 strength and 400 int.

That’s then doubled. So when you do the maths - it’s carnage.

For many minion players, minion surviability comes before their own. As the playstyle itself is very safe.

Even in general when you theorise your tree you should focus on which cluster of passive you wanna take and just go to there with as few point as possible. You’ll got enough attribute to equip your item (use items with attributes bonuses also, it will come handy).

So at your apparent level just take the chaos damage if you wanna play chaos spell

No. Builds go all over the tree to allow you to pick up multiple types of relevant bonuses for your build and to make it easier for people to create off-class builds. It's part of the reason why we ended up with things like the bow-wielding, totem summoning explosive arrow witch build in POE1

The number of modifiers doesn't matter, as long as the two you have are benefitting you. That helmet has a lot of affixes, but in tiny amounts, so even if you get some use from it now, it won't be any good within a few levels at best.

Things aren't better or worse in a vacuum. They're defensive layers. Need to figure out what defensive layers work for your build. Evasion gives you a chance to avoid being hit by attacks.

That is, projectile and strike attacks. AOE's always hit if you stand in them and I don't think evasion works against spells but I could be wrong.

The only stuff that won't carry between games is stuff that has no counterpart. For example, if you have a skill mtx from poe1, it won't transfer to poe2 unless that skill also exists in poe2.

For single target sorc use ice wall paired with whatever your elemental dps is. Try moving around your support gems for more dps and making your passives fit that elemental damage. Spark + Ice Wall + Solar/Lightning Orb work wonders

If you combine all of those together while forcing your sparks to go through the fire wall your dps will change dramatically

Level isnt going to automatically give you more power, sure you get passive points to spend, but you still need to sort out your gear and gem combo to achieve better performance. Can go grind a bit not just for exp, but also gear and uncut gems.
