They are random drops, same as the regular Uncut Skill Gems. You can also get a guaranteed drop from the King in the Mists encounter in Act 1, and the Ignagduk boss in Act 3 (potentially more that I don't recall).

Yep yep. Its a long fight where you're hoping to aboid most dmg, some of them is just absolute shit like the two moving pillars of lightning in first phase

If anything, the second phase is easier in the sense you can dodge most stuff consistently

You only Avoid all Strikes and Projectiles for the first ~half of the dodge roll. You cannot use Dodge Roll to avoid AoEs.

(strikes are technically AoEs too, but without going over it in way more specificity, this is accurate enough)

One of the best advice I got was "Roll less. You can dodge most things in game by side strafing to the side". Which is one of the biggest reasons movement speed is so good.

Movement speed also affects the distance of the dodge roll, but in general, that advice can apply to most games with dodge roll. If you roll, you're effectively locking yourself out of performing other actions until you finish it, but if you're able to just step out of the way of an attack, you can begin attacking again way more quickly.

The thing that does matter is where you start on the passive tree, and what ascendancy class you get. Ascendancy classes are locked to the base class, and if your build requires or strongly benefits from a specific ascendancy, then your base class will matter a lot as a result.

You should've gotten an Uncut Spirit Gem when you defeated the King in the Mists in Act 1, or dropped one at random afterwards. You can cut a number of skills from it, such as Wind Dancer to gain more Evasion, or Heralds of Thunder to get extra Lightning damage after killing a Shocked enemy.

As far as Crossbows go, since they're new to PoE2, there's just no MTX for them in general.

On the contrary, it's possible to do these fights far more quickly. I believe Jamanra is resistant to Lightning damage, so if you're primarily using Lightning damage, then you will be dealing less damage to him. Using a curse to lower his resistance, or having Lightning penetration to ignore part of it, could help with that boss and other enemies with a gray or golden lightning icon beneath the healthbar (those indicate resistance, red means the enemy is weak to the element, gray means they're resistant, gold means they have max resistance to it).

Of course, there are plenty of other factors that go into how much damage you deal, so there may be room for improvement in other areas too.

There's a lot that goes into your damage. You might have better support gems you could use, maybe your Wand/Staff don't have +X to all (Lightning) Spell Skills - which tends to boost damage quite a bit - or perhaps your passives are suboptimal. Would be hard to say conclusively without seeing all of that stuff.

And don't worry about not understanding everything for now, PoE1 and 2 have a lot of different stats and mechanics that can require a bit of reading to fully learn - luckily, PoE2 at least offers keywords with nested tooltips to explain a lot of them.

The main issue with the tree that I'm seeing is that you're picking up a bunch of random small passives, especially the attribute ones on the sides, that aren't really helping you as much as a notable or two could. Instead of the 4 attribute nodes you grabbed near the start, you could instead invest them into travelling somewhere on the tree, such as towards the top elemental damage clusters.

I'd usually use the second pair just for resists

painter's servant are obviously more damage

so up to you which you need, generally you want to prioritize life/resists on most pieces

unique doesn't necessarily mean good, often they're niche, like that chest really doesn't do much for you either especially if you're primarily an evasion/ES build which you appear to be

Technically the witch based off ascendency the blood witch gets max health and crit dmg per certain amount of max health so you inherited force yourself to get more strength and max life and her basic ability in her ascendency gives her over health so if you build a decent amount of energy shield and grim feast it would technically be the tankiest

This is all technically cause build can change that heavily

Spark kills very fast, but unless you get Lucky with gear, it doesn't get good energy Shield early, and unless you want to spend money respeccing nodes you need the mana and going dex for evasion just feels bad.

lightning arrow deadeye is also a good endgame build. Other endgame builds just need time to ramp up, LR is just strong with the way it works even before you get more sockets for support, level gems up etc.

Spark + flamewall with decent gear just melts the whole screen at ones, and can even travel off screen. Requires almost no real aiming and you can do the same thing the entire game, just add the orb later when mana is better

you can level any char with it btw, that is why I linked that forum post. Skill gems are not tied to classes and any class can use any weapon (some exceptions like passive granted skills). And for twink leveling again, you'll be using something like LR + orb or pillar or gas arrow for fast leveling. Then respec towards end of acts or after acts.

Uniques aren't automatically the best items. In fact they're usually not.

Whatever has the stats you need. Usually rare items, but a blue item with two useful stats is still better than a rare with four bad ones. Uniques are meant to fill a certain need and give you something you can't get other places. Need to ask yourself if that something is actually helpful to your build.

Pillar of the caged God is good...if you're doing something called an attribute stacker. Grip of winter is useful if you're doing cold damage and trying to freeze things. So on and so forth.

Life and resistances are the most important stats you can get on non-weapon gear during the campaign.

Honestly your resistances don’t matter too much until you hit either late cruel or just end game,focus on energy shield and damage for the monk especially once you get healed of ice tour clearing becomes ridiculous and bell clears most bosses
