I think you're misunderstanding lightning rod. Using scattershot lowers your rod damage. Lightning rod does not just "buff" your other skills, the explosions do damage based on your lightning rod damage

But at that point it's just better to use non-scatter rod and orb of storms and cut out the extra skill

And in that first scenario, it's still only better if you don't have +1 proj and/or don't want to fire a second time

I'm a huge simp for rod+orb and a huge hater of lightning arrow

ok. what have you been doing to scale damage? on spells you want to get spell damage, fire damage (in your case), you want to be cursing enemies, and since fireball explodes getting overlap on explosions with multi-proj can be good. additionally, try to get items that increase your fire gem levels

Scattershot + unleash should be 9 projectiles, no? Assuming full seals of unleash

keep in mind that in poe 2 you have 100 things working together in your build, sometimes you miss one of them 🙂

Scattershot might be a bad call on fireball, imo. It lowers your damage and your cast speed.

Unleash also doesn't add damage on its own. So you may be shooting 9 projectiles every few seconds, but it takes a lot longer for those seals to build up. And the repeats do half damage. So you're basically doing:

(3 x 0. 8 x 0.8) + (6 x 0.5 x 0.8 x 0+8) = 3.84 times your damage whenever you cast it with full seals AND the projectiles all connect, which is basically never in boss fights where you're spamming it. And not to mention that you cannot hit the same enemy with multiple fireballs fired at the same time (unless they hit something else). So in single target boss fights you're realistically actually doing like 30-40% less damage due to scattershot and barely benefitting from unleash.

Compare that to just a single support gem like controlled destruction that adds 30% more damage in single target. Using that instead of scattershot would basically double your single target dps (assuming you're not scaling crit)

It's a game working differently than blizzard one. Stats do not give you dmg. And there is no such thing as "main stats" as every player is able to use ALL skills and wear ALL gears

It entirely depends on what you give up to get more crit. I think in a world where your gear is Elon's-farming-team-level, then crit is always the way to go if your skill can crit.

So if your goal is 100% actual crit chance, it's twice as hard to do it with a 5% base crit than with a 10%

Is there a way to greatly reduce the visuals of certain things ? LIke disabling most of the texture of a certain spell / effect ? I'm currently progressing threw a self cooked build but the issue is i'm only at the very beginning of the high scaling course of the spells im casting and my pc is already sueffering.

yeah it would eat 15% of the life you recover, so it'll depend on your stats for that

that one went up to 1-11 per int and atkspd per dex is unchanged

so quite a nice outcome, 5-10% more dps

corrupt isnt a downside cuz it already has sockets and quality
