Sounds like a build issue. I've played through campaign on multiple lower-powered characters with no issue
Keep your defenses on your gear up, and keep your weapon up-to-date, and just about any build that slots a few primary damaging skills should get through campaign just fine.

if you were trying to be a pain attunement gamer in poe2, a corrupted cowards legacy can roll 1.2x stat on the low life modifier, making it 90...
Pretty interesting for that as theres a lot of ways to make your character fairly consistently under 90% life, especially with bloodmagic etc.

play the act up to the act boss then try it. The extra levels / gem levels can help a lot.

Also theres like 3 bosses that can appear. The chimera does almost 0 damage and just runs away, making it slow but easy af.

The flightless bird has an annoying rock fall move but is otherwise harmless and easy.

The flying bird has a broken 1shot tornado that can just not move slow sometimes and teleport to the player 1shotting them, as well as a ton of other scary abilities. Honestly if you get that boss you have a decent chance of just instantly failing.

Its rng shitshow so keep trying.

Both of the trials honestly are fine grinding content. But they make for absolutely terrible experiences while levelling, especially when locking the player power you want behind them.

I always play til the end of the act for the extra levels before attempting them.

In poe1 it was soo much better. They had a place called Labyrinth, which had a guantlet of traps and monsters to kill and a boss that could have varying movesets. The good thing is the layout was randomly selected, but the SAME for a whole day, so re-attempting it you would already know the layout etc. It also had darkshrines which were permanent buffs within the lab that could help kill the boss if you went out of your way to find them.
It was accessible around lvl 33/55/65/78 or something like that.

I didnt have any issues with gold. Except the few times I was trying diff ascendancy points and did a few big respec on my first couple chars. During those times I just farmed some area over and over again and sold everything for gold. There are also a few areas in acts that have gold (like the hidden room in cemetary of eternals, act 2 area before Rathbreaker etc. but they didnt seem worth it)

In poe1, besides the armour formula just being better (giving higher mitigation per armour than poe2's), conversion applied before armour so you would convert a considerable portion of the phys to ele before armour was used. Since armour works much better on smaller hits this was massive. In poe2, theres a lot less conversion options AND armour applies before conversion so it is mitigating the full size of the hit, making it much less effective.

If you remember from normal, Ascent to Power was how you unlocked the Trial of Sekhema. Since you're already unlocked the Trial, you can't unlock it again. So there's no way to complete the quest in Cruel and Cruel being a copy of Normal is the only reason you have it. It was an oversight on GGG's part and will probably get removed soon

In the campaign, ignore everything aside from movement speed on boots, and life/res whenever you can get it

The type of defense (armor/eva/es) is not important in the campaign

It's a nice bonus, if anything, but life and resists are far more important

no, but with everlasting glaze giving u 30% mana as ES and taking midnight braid belt which recoups 50% of dmg as mana along with eldritch battery, and atziris disdain helm (30% life as extra max ES), and Mind over ma tter, you can effectively turn ur mana into ES, and STILL continue stacking a ton of ES since EB does not remove ur base ES from passives and whatnot

i probably didnt articulate that clearly but basically mana and int stacking + eb, MoM and CI are gigastrong

Just make sure to go play the game. There is a harmful trend where people spend all their time looking up guides so they "dont waste their time" but then end up bored and stop playing because they just....never play. Not saying guides are evil, but at some point its better to just get your hands dirty and figure out what doesnt work then using guides to help fix your shortcommings

Legionnaire is a Mercenary Ascendency, there is a build where a Merc is using a quarterstaff and using the exact same skills as a monk, so the joke is that the best monk is actually a mercenary. But I don't think that's the case, im just being a dipsh!t
