Lifesprig's main feature is that it's possible to get one with +3 spell levels and a low level requirement, which is a good leveling weapon. It gets outclassed once you find rares with the same gem level mod but other good stuff too

Like I got a Lifesprig with +3 to spell gem levels from the act 1 boss, which was really nice since you can't normally get +3 gem levels from a wand that early, but I replaced it once I got a +3 wand with other damage mods later in the campaign

You will naturally just get enough passively with dex and your area of the tree. You can see your chance to hit if you press g and click on the dps of the skill

Only way it'll change is, e.g. low level amulet like that dex one, requires level 8 to use. You have a high item level on it, roll a new mod that has higher level requirements

you need resists to not instantly die, initially dying is not so bad since you have enough dps to clear fast and monsters almost never reach you but need to fix it fast or you will get stuck at higher tier maps where exp loss becomes a real bottle neck

This game is really good at making all classes strong. There's some end game warrior builds that shred everything

Basically, every enemy has a hidden number called an ailment threshold. Your lgihtning damage relative to their ailment threshold determines your chance to shock. Enemies with more health have higher ailment thresholds.

Is there an easy way to see what support skills apply to a skill gem?

when you rightclick the support gem and select a skill, it shows you like 9 recommended options

there is a checkbox at the bottom, when you turn that off, it shows you all support gems that will work with the skill

they might not neccessarily be great choices, but all shown will interact in some way with the skill

however be aware that those other support skills may have increased requirements

like you needing +10 Dex on a Witch to equip them
