My hope is they're using it as a new onramp for maps, which also helps tutorialize endgame. So for instance perhaps in the first one you encounter Breach, and get some zones that help introduce that mechanic.

They won't be, the leak stated they were being moved to endgame after 5/6 get added
that they have individual zones and bosses ready but haven't made the wiring if you will, so they give them stand alone
i imagine GGG is focusing on the acts done and adding more baseline skills of shit we already have THEN they'll do the classes
also shield charge change almost 100% means stomping ground is deadge
the other classes are in practice just new skills and some ascendancies

They have different people for different aspect. Level creation is done by different people than character balance which is also separated from people who do creature balance
i think they wanted to kill people who were literally just shield charging oneshotting packs
I think it was 0.2 that had Jonathon explicitly call out that they had a few people who can do character balance sight unseen.

you had a few stuff for totems in marauder but hierophant was the one that had the bigger modifiers

so it makes sense for them as well

"Totems" had different themes in PoE1... They had a very strong ancestral theme that is tied to the Karui, but the other style of totems, which is like the spell totems was more for the heiro
the shockwave and ancestral totems iirc are based off of pouwhenua (carved wooden pillars similar to totem poles) which is probably why theyre associated with the pure str weapon, since both pure str classes are karui in origin which, yknow
maybe itll be a maurauder thing since its rumoured to have chieftain and chieftain has it
based heavily on the maori
the karui afaik are Fantasy Maori™ in the same way that the vaal are Fantasy Aztecs™
Melee totems -> Karui/Marauder
Ranged totems were then reworked into Ballistas -> Ranger
Spell totems -> Templar
or well i guess the vaal are more based off of mesoamerican cultures in a more general sense not just the aztecs
the only templar themed looking totem i can even think of is holy fire totem
otherwise the generic spell totem si karui themed

There are like 3 Mace weapon wheels and a bunch of 2 handed wheels... I PoE2 there is like one Mace wheel

You cant get stats on tree that you can get on equipment (if you do its very low amounts)
Which means hardly any resistances on tree either

It's also because PoE2's tree feels like it's trying to support more things, so a lot of the nodes feel a lot more niche
There are exceptions and those exceptions are the nodes ppl get a lot

I like PoE2's attributes more, but they are too harsh on the requirements

I would agree with that yeah
PoE2 is much stricter attributes by design, so it makes attributes more valuable. For support gems and items its fine, but for skill gems its a bit too harsh so they can turn it down a bit
It feels very bad when I am a ranger/Huntress and I still need to get extra dex nodes on the tree or on my gear to level my skills to 20
Esp if you want to do something off class
yeah I just feel like its more harsh feeling, same with mana and other requirements
obviously crafting has a huge effect on this in poe1 because you can solve more problems
Yeah, I understand off class being harsh, and that's where you'd need attributes on gear/tree, but within your class, you shouldn't ever struggle with leveling skills I feel
I always feel like act 2 is that spot where it feels pretty bad
You pretty much have to take every notable that gives Attributes early on

200 attribute for skill gems at lvl20 is too high, should probably be like 150

I have had bad luck on gambling so I Disenchant everything and just check vendors
If I am very desperate then I gamble weapon or boots that's it
I do a ring gamble sometimes if I want resistances

gambling during acts is a noob trap unless you're absolutely desperate
you're better off just checking the vendors
as I stated I had terrible seeds and got no movespeed boots and it was awful

just not great seeds like I said
i think i gambled once because i got hardstuck on jamanra and needed a better spear and the vendor drops were all slop
i would tf out of gear in campaign but i was really struggling. i dont think it was really worth it
like i run out of money for respecs the other day as a mid-end game characters doing red maps
i ended up getting one that nearly tripled my damage bc i had been using some random act 1 drop til that point
I ran A TON of new characters this league probably more than most people besides speedrunners and from my experience, vendors and actually using your currency more often than not results in a good a wep that will carry you for awhile
Never crafted on armor besides maybe chest
probably not worth it. gold was surprisingly valuable to me as i like to respec to test stuff, change gear means i have to change some passive nodes too, and stats
very stat hungry build as i need full strength and full dex for my stuff
and picking up socket gear to salvage is very important
because like GGG intended sockets fix mos tof your issues

I am very curious on on the little things around the mechanic that would make it feel good... I assume you can't attack while sprinting, so that breaks it... Then there is the holding the button issue
If it's holding, it could get annoying, so I hope it toggles somehow and you can break it by attacking or something

there's no logical reason why my fully armoured warrior should be susceptible to getting knocked down because they are running full speed at the enemy

magma barrier basically makes them passively now if you use any shield raising skills

okay, just to summerize what has been revealed so far:
- no druid, some other class might come out, might not
- act 4 comes out which is 100 new monster types, 16 new areas and 12 new bosses
- after act 4 you do 3 interludes which are 6-7 zones in acts 1-3, then endgame, no cruel difficulty
- we can now sprint like in Elden Ring, any class just holds down a button and run forward, no stamina, but if you get hit you get heavy stunned
- all support gems are now available from the start, they have 3 tiers, each next tier is the same support gem, but stronger
- in the endgame we are getting lineage support gems which are basically very powerful unique support gems, you loot them the way you do unique items and they can for example invert enemy elemental resistances, increase the gem quality etc.
- you can use the same support in different skill gems multiple times, except unique supports
- bow now has more ice skills
- crossbow skills are now way stronger and smoother, less movement penalty
- banner skills are stronger
- new defence layer called deflect has 40% damage reduction, dexterity builds can increase the chance to deflect up to 100%, works against all hits on top of evasion
- blocks and parries now work against all hits, not just single target hits
- mace skills are now way stronger
- thanks to explicit rare item mods and passive tree changes a percentage of armour can now be applied to elemental damage and you can stack this mod/passive to get tons of damage reduction
- huge minion and spectre buffs
- new skill called reap, applies critical weakness and culls, looks like a cool red scythe slash
- blood mage now doesn't have to take the passive that adds life cost to the mana cost of the skills
- infernalist can now keep her weapons while in the demon form
- quarterstaff/monk is getting buffed both damage and survivability wise
