It's not dumb— Think about it. "Person A cusses at a small child via chat" What would you do stop them from being able to do it again. As consequence Player A is not allowed to chat anymore as a measure to prevent them to do something similar.

If i cuss at another player firstly its not that big of a deal, per say a 6 hour mute, and if i am not allowed to chat for 14 days to no one thats gonna make me repeat that since i will be angry not being able to socailse in minecraft, especially so if pelope message me and they have no idea i am muted
