and that's to do less

where mc would usually load up a bunch of stuff all the time, the modders have spent time making a balance between avoiding doing things where possible and not affecting the gameplay too much

they also have the advantage that they can rip up old bits of code with lots of slow quirks and replace it without having to make it as robust so it will definitely work for 50 million people running the game on ancient tech

I'm currently weighing whether I should load it on a localstorage based system or move it to a central server.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages With a local storage based systems, you would have to hack your PC to get the data.
If I put the data on a central server, you are protected firstly, but still more vulnerable than on your PC.
But you could access your data from multiple devices are not limited to one device.

If your budget ATM won't have direct access to ur bank account, local storage seems best in my opinion.

If it'll have direct access to ur bank account a central server seems best... To prevent that user from modifying the data which won't reflect what their bank details (Idk if u can modify the data but I assume that u can on localstorage)
