Its not entirely rng based, although rng is a significant factor, I have managed to defeat people with full diamond when I had full iron.

Rng is definitely a large factor, much larger than for regular skywars, I won't deny that.

The rng makes it enjoyable for me. You could get full diamond from your spawn island and dominate the game or get barely anything and have to find a way to win.

I don’t think adding a texture pack automatically makes you a tryhard. However I can see people who want better gameplay or want to seem better at the game. Not all tho

Personally playing MC with no packs is kinda bland. I just add simple vanilla texture packs that tweak block textures and item textures.
