so in some of the maps there are tons upon tons of gold blocks
and i know for a fact they can be crafted into notch apples because i’ve done it several times myself
what surprises me however is the amount of players I’ve seen that craft notches
absolutely no one I’ve seen has had a notch apple in their hand at all
and it baffles me to think about how many players completely ignore what their surroundings are made of
who agrees with me
and then sometimes there are just way too many gold blocks, for example there is 44 gold blocks on the arcade map
so that’s 5 notches that can be crafted
and somehow the above still applies to every single player but me

No not really (ish) they do the same damage {+5 Attack dammage} and althouh the axe has more durability, you will cost double of useing it for the wrong purpose. As of the combat update hasn’t been released to bedrock, the durability will be taken double if used as pvp. However a gold sword will only take 1 durability useage (if used for pvp only) and if you take your time with the hits and mainly do crit hits, it will last longer rather than jitter clicking. So I think I would use the sword then the axe. But by then I would of gotten a better sword. Also I could use a sharp 1 stone sword. That also dose {+5 Attack dammage}

yeah but there are also situations where u just spawned and you immediately get rushed, and u have both an iron axe and gold sharp 2 sword in your hot bar. I would rather use the axe by then cause most people don't tower speed bridge so you could crit them pretty easily, plus you have the advantage of being able to break their blocks if their using wood planks

But the likelyhood of a player useing wood to rush you is very low and as your scenario it says that just as you spawn you get rushed. They would of used bricks. And I would still use the sword as that’s what I always use; a sword. If the axe had any other special effects like fire aspect, I would only hit them once with it to set them a light and then use the sword

Not all people use the builder kit, a lot of people loot one chest before rushing so they can get optimal loot, and the chances of getting wood or stone in a chest is high, its a 50-50 for each. If the enemy was using stone, then yes i would use a sword while towering up. However wood is very common amongst speed bridgers since it its more versatil than stone.
