I’m pretty sure for some odd reason tridents don’t account for armour that isn’t diamond, because diamond and netherite have “armour toughness” I’m not explaining what it is, search it up. So anyway every armour that isn’t diamond or netherite has no “armour toughness”. I’ve tested it and in iron armour you take 4 whole hearts
(8 damage ) while in diamond you take around 2 whole hearts (4 damage)

So uh yeah
