Was happening yesterday and a couple months ago too. Kinda fun, they can still kill, but can't pick up from the gens, but can pick up items. They'll always respawn . Just leave them on their island without a bridge they can use and they are harmless. I actually think it adds a bit of fun to the game lol. At least on Java, eggs still spawn and you can still win the game like always.

Maybe it's gotten more bugged now, but when I played it didn't matter if they kept respawning. Once you kill them without an egg, they were technically out of the game (team removed from the sidebar), but continued to spawn. Killing them over a 100 times isn't fun for anyone involved I'd assume lol.
