Iron generators at max capacity lag out mobile players, making the game unplayabe for a whole chunk of CC players. Imbalance already. Gold generators allow full obsidian and tons of gaps within the first 20 seconds. Getting some gingerbread vibes here.. Diamond generators give you full iron within the first MINUTE

Honestly, the Mystery map is the tackiest map I've ever seen

The simple yet effective visuals of the magic map have been replaced by the overbearing nonsensical mystery map

It's nothing but noise and color, a large step backwards from what CubeCraft usually gets right

All the nonsense of the design is simply to draw away from the fact that it's still just it's usually format of every other map

Center is just as uninteresting as ever

The size of the base is completely idiotic

So much space with nothing to use it for

The center feels like something to explore and figure out, areas and sectors to conquer for yourself as you make slow pushes to the enemy

There are still several issues

Mostly in that a few more things could've been added to give it a more ruined structure feel, like some broken coliseum blocks on the ground here and there

Maybe a few structures higher up in certain spots to make it more mysterious and open and encourage exploration even further while also giving a new fresh battle combat experience where adapting and using your surroundings is key

Overall, The ruins gets a solid 7/10
Not perfect, but a step in the right direction

Which is why it befuddles me that they came out with mystery at the same time...

One step forward and two steps back it seems..

So mystery.. 3/10

Absolutely nothing to redeem it. It's only saving grace being the fact that it would make a great eggwars teams of two map,
Maybe an amazing skywars map

But as a teams of 4? Definitely not
And it certainly doesn't make use of any of the space it has for anything interesting

It leaves all the important stuff on top and in view, not encouraging any sort of exploration or strategy

I will say that something interesting is the possible danger that it has by leaving the bottoms completely open and exposed.
Meaning you have to keep an eye out for sneak attacks
But that's about it
And it's still only a bare minimum

Something that definitely holds the ruins map back is the new generators and price updates.
It makes it far too easy to stay at the base, and doesn't encourage the player to explore any of the amazing map pit before them.

If the normal generators and prices were put back, then this map would definitely be less camp heavy and far more balanced.

But this is less the maps fault and more CubeCrafts new updates fault, so it doesn't effect the rating outside of that aspect.

Obsidian is indeed very useful for defensive play, but it is a challenge to get passed when your opponent uses it right
But personally, having more challenge in the game when it's implemented well like that is absolutely welcome.
