Depends - spawn killing to farm kills is definitely against the rules see: https://www.cubecraft.net/rules section 1.5 Trolling which says you aren't allowed to farm kills without getting the egg, but tbh sometimes you have got to repeatedly kill a playing in order to get their egg, so as long as you are trying to get the egg I think it's OK.

That's why I always like to rush in Eggwars; because of some unexpected campers who just go at mid, get some diamond and camp the whole game on their island with the dia gen.
Specially in team eggwars.
I have encountered a lot: players with max armour, punch bows, fortress in their island, etc...

Because I can see that almost all campers I encounter are not that experienced in the game.
And they usually camp in order to gain some kind of advantage.
Sometimes they succeed nevertheless.

Not really compared to other games and their in game purchases I believe the egg wars rank is quite cheap

That happens mostly on duos.
A lot of teams just rush to the mid, get some diamonds and start to camp on their base with the diamond generator.
That's why I think that rushing is the best strategy in Eggwars.
