Melons don't grow on the block you place them on, they grown on an empty dirt/grass block next to it that way you break the melon, leave the stem and it will grow a fresh melon

I mean, the mechanics of melons and pumpkins is the same as vanilla minecrqft, its just a set spawn time added, if you've planted a melon or a pumpkin you only break the fruit, the only time you should pop the seed back out of the ground is when you wanna move the farm.

When you unlock boosters you can use them to increase the speed that crops grow, so a melon stem would be shortened from 12 hours to 6 hours before its ready, but the boosts only last for a set amount of time.

Okay, so, count ten blocks down from the bottom of the dropper, and create a layer of hoppers leading to a single point, put a double chest there, this is your output, then a layer of double chests on top of the hoppers, repeat the patter of hoppers and chests leading directly down from your impact site, that'll give you a 20 double chest and 40 hopper buffer so it takes a while to clog the system fully, specially if you sell the pork regularly

You can't place two "normal" double chests next to eachother, however, you can place a "normal" double chest and a trapped double chest next to eachother
