Thats also a vanilla feature, you cant go past 80% damage reduction. Protection 20 achieves said 80% reduction so enchants like feather falling and projectile protection have no further damage reduction to their dedicated damage sources. However blast resistance and fire res still do have use bit no damage reduction, they reduce knockback and burning time
