If you place your spawner with a block on top in the air, it wont spawn anything, spawners only spawn mobs in their area if there is a block to spawn on/in.

If you place a floating spawner with signs or fencegates around it in a square, going out 4 blocks each direction from the spawner, your spiders wil immediately fall down.

Do this high enough with low level spawners and spiders will always die of fall damage. Then you can just pick up the drops

Well if we are talking about cubecraft then the calculations don't work full stop since they screwed up the damage calculations are few months back, tried to fix it, screwed it up even more then refused to fix it.

Basically stuff doesn't do the correct damage, infact on cubecraft thing do more damage than they should by quite a lot

Also, it's not 100% parity on cc. Its as parity as they can make it, combat for example does not have the parity
