could be a few reasons, for example 1 reason could be that everything was made out of wood and you burnt it down by accident. reason is that a family member ect of yours could have gone on your device/account and griefed you
if it were a world save error, your save would simple restore to an older version and you might lose a few items from chests/inventory. but if your world has never been in that state before then it cant be a save error
so if it looks griefed, its not a save error
cant be an admin/qa either since they dont really touch sb saves without a person directly asking them for a reason
so realistically, it can on be the 2 reasons i stated

A better way is getting a high lvl fortune pick (iron or stone) and a high level silk touch and fortune pick

Mining 10 iron generator with silk 1 fortune 3 would mathematically get you 13 iron ore block
You can then mine the 13 iron ore blocks with the fortune 4 pick which would get you around 30 iron ingots since the game percieve mining and ore block as vanilla
Then just smelt the iron ingots, and you get mad amounts of exp

It depends on the level, but ive made a 75 block dropper for level 55
I believe 50 blocks of lvl 30 ish
But its better to make it around 70-100 so that you can still hit it with one hit at a higher lvl
And for now just use water with signs below to control the dropper
