2. some mobs (spiders) need a different design

Im sure you know the actual fall damage equation, and the armour equation is really easy (4% less damage per armour point * 4% less damage per protection point)

Reason for the fencegates is that the mobs have a block to spawn on

Reason for opening them is because pigs dont fit otherwise meaning they cant spawn

And overall its faster because of simple maths: you use the most spawnspace you can get meaning max chance for the highest output of a spawner per spawncycle
