Hydrating farmland doesn't decrease time to grow in base Minecraft either. All it does in all of Minecraft is make sure unoccupied farmland doesn't dissapear. This goes for regular Minecraft, it doesn't decrease the random ticks needed to grow a crop nor increase tickspeed

cacti farms are utter garbage, the difference between a melon farm and a cacti farm is huge, and you only need to use a melon farm a few times before you make your first pig farm which not only will destroy that one but also be automatic. in the end building a cacti farm would be a huge waste of time.

and before you say you can build cacti farms infinitely big until the size of the world.... you cant. theres a 100 stack item cap which disables this and the produced money total is pretty low in comparison

and takes more effort to build than making a melon farm, using it for a couple days then making a pig farm
