Depends how many times you're gonna mine them per day and how many coins you got, I would go for quartz unless you got a lot of coins to spend.

Smelting ores also gives some xp. But I use a super smelter, so I don't really get xp from smelting

The problem is that multiple of us invested so much into the building them. Way more than you'd spend on a wither skele dropper. Yes it was op and laggy but all they had to do was debuff it rather than removing it outright

I have 2 main quests left, nethermancer and violent ends both on about 35% done. This is a soul destroyer in its own right, to now say you got to do that prob. 10 times to get level 10 equip is hard to swallow

And level 10 is the only mandatory amount

And end of the day, level 20 doesnt have much of an increase compared to level 10 on most tools

It still takes a long time in the beginning to get the xp, unlocking the nether and the catus is mush slower. Normal minecraft has several afk xp methods.
