If you're just starting id do fishing first after a while id get a mob farm make sure to keep spiders in a different mob farm as they clog up the mob farm

Ores like quarts, emeralds, diamonds ect also give a good amount of xp but thats later on

If you want something else like passive id go for a simple non hostile farm and and "auto" smelter they go hand in hand decently well

they can be made in the overworld too it just wont acively show the counter for completion cause its supposed to be a nether quest but each craft still counts

Idk if it's cancelled, but I think it's just put off indefinitely. Hopefully after 1.20, and fixing some stuff they can add it. Might be another 3 freaking years tho. It's been coming soon since I think at least 2020
